I'm simply bored and thought a rp based on the anime and manga, "Bungo Stray Dogs" would be cool. I'm only in season 2 as of currently, almost to the ova "Dead Apple", so no complete spoilers, alright?
We'll do a plot between Port Mafia and the Armed Detective Agency.
Just fill out the form below and I'll add you. You know the rules, just follow basic rules of the forums. And make sure you're characters' ability isn't too overpowering (don't be a Lovecraft, y'all).
Form:
Name: Ability: Gender(optional): Age: Group:
Armed Detective Agency
President: Koharu Saito - 43 - she/her - Ability: The Time Traveler (rewind up to five minutes of the past)
Members: . Toma Nakamura - 23 - he/him - Yarrow Fields of Red (he can become engulfed in flames and also shoot them from his palms)
. Ada Lovelace - 30 - she/her - Enchantress of Numbers (increase the likelihood of a chosen event by 5-15%)
. Evariste Galois - 15 - he/him - My Final Words (for 8 hours, work at superhuman efficiency and extraordinary genius, followed by a 72-hour coma)
.
Port Mafia
President: open
Executives: . Ryo Satoshi - 28 - he/him - Hello, Darkness (if able to touch someone, can make them temporarily blind)
.
.
.
.
Members: . Himeyo Fujioka - 18 - she/her - Seen Me With a Crown (once she puts on a crown, she can detect auras and heat signatures nearby, up to a mile)
. Konan Minami - 9 - she/her - Hunger Strike (if she stops eating for more than 48 hours, she can transmit her own starvation symptoms to others)
. Fumiko Enchi - 26 - she/her - Masks (Can possess the body and mind of another person, but only while she is sleeping.)
Citizens
. Nellie Bly - 13 - she/her - 10 Days in a Mad-House (Can control and conduct electricity, but cannot create it herself.)

( I've only read the first 20 chapters of the manga, meaning I don't know a lot of lore quite yet. Is it still alright to make a character and roleplay them, or would you suggest that I read/watch more of this series? )

(you can roleplay them! As long as you know about the agency and the mafia, and what each one pretty much does, then you're all set! this doesn't take place during the time period of the show, so it'll be a little different. so no worries! ^^ )

( One more thing: These are OCs, correct? I haven't heard the names of the currently listed characters, so I wonder if they're just canon characters I haven't met yet, or original characters that I shouldn't have heard of. )

(no, these are all OC's ^^ i was going to try for a fresh start, especially for people that haven't gotten that far ahead, that way it wouldn't confuse anyone lol)

(alright, I'll go ahead and post my starter for my characters, that way you can interact with any of them ^^ )
Koharu Saito was not like the usual ladies around town. She didn't dress in normal clothes and she didn't speak like how the newer generation spoke. It was tough, being in a world so outside her mind process. Maybe it was because of her concept of time, or maybe she was just raised to be different. She wasn't sure. Her forty years on this earth has taught her many things. And also, being the president of a secret detective agency that contained humans with superhuman capabilities also changed some of her outlooks. Either way, she envied how normal some of her coworkers were. How the world worked. But she didn't want to change. Koharu sat down at the desk in her office, her yukata slightly coming up to show too much of her legs. She sighed and pressed down the fabric, hating the sight. She picked up the tea cup on her desk and raised it up to take a sip, enjoying the warm taste as it touched her tongue. She nearly purred at the taste. Ah, nothing like fresh tea early in the morning. Now, she just wished she was outside in the greenery to enjoy the fresh air.
----
Toma Nakamura was upstairs in the main lobby, working on something at his desk. There were a few investigations he was aware of that needed to be completed, and he had made sure to ask the president before he had sent his coworkers off to finish the investigations. He had faith in them, as he did in all the members of the Agency. With a sharp sigh, he shut his laptop and getting up from his seat. He walked outside near the back, where there was a training area for the Agency's team members. He removed his jacket and began stretching. As he did so, he could just faintly feel the scorching heat on his palms. He clenched his fists tighter. He didn't want to waste any of his ability at the moment. Now, it was just time to physically train.
---
Himeyo Fujioka didn't like to do the dirty work her superiors left her to do. After all, she was the given 'princess' of the Mafia. However, she didn't like being that. She didn't like the hungry looks half of her team members gave her on a daily basis. She didn't like the favoritism her friend and executive of the Agency, Ryo, gave her over his other subordinates. She could see glares of jealousy every time she walked around the base. It made her sick. Kicking open one of the doors of the pubs she frequented, she escaped into the back alley of the streets. Here, no one would find her, not police or her nosy 'friends' to bother her. She sighed and leaned against the wall, pulling out the sharp crown that rested inside her jacket pocket. It radiated in the early morning light, reminding her just how powerful the Agency made her. She growled and stuffed it back into her pocket, before kicking back off the wall and walking forward. Time to finish this before Ryo got upset with her again...

( My characters are actual famous historical people, so it feels hecking weird to call them by their first names... Edit: Mentioned characters by the wrong names, now fixed. )
Ada yawned. She was never much of a morning person, but unfortunately this job required her to be at her desk at such a terrible time... Ideally she'd want to wake up at 9am, spend an hour getting herself ready, then arriving to the office by noon. That was the earliest she could really function well at. Anytime before lunchtime, Ada would be found grumpy and tired. She opened her computer screen, booting up programs that would respond to emails for her.
Siiip... Siiigh....
It could have been that the offices were extra quiet in the mornings, but could Koharu turn down the volume of her tea drinking? Ada scowled at her desk. With the running computer fan and the buffering computer screen as her only stimulation, the sipping and purring noise from the next cubicle was really grinding her gears.
"Oi, Koharu." Ada stormed to the president's desk, a deathly irritated expression on her face. "Wanna drink a little quieter?"
Just because Evariste had the ability to do ten years of work in a single sitting, didn't mean he ever wanted to use that ability. Who was going to sacrifice a whole three days of life for some work? They didn't even have enough work for him to complete if he turned on his Super Saiyan productivity power! But the Agency had decided to give him ridiculous amounts of work anyway, which had made the boy scowl and fight back, earning him a terrible relationship with the President and himself the most boring job on the entire planet. Is this bad enough to sue them for child labor? the boy thought, stretching in his seat. He shut off his computer and stepped out, having had enough of this tedious work.
Evariste longed to do something meaningful with his time, and filling out paperwork for some investigations was stupid. Yes, he was fifteen years old, but he was a genius (albeit a self-proclaimed one, but he was certainly smarter than most everyone he had met). He could do whatever the Agency needed, if only they would just trust him.
Having gotten himself angry just by thinking, the young mathematician stormed out of the room to the training area. He just needed to vent out some anger for today. "Oh, speak of the devil," he muttered under his breath, catching sight immediately of Toma Nakamura about to practice his fire skill. Quickly, the boy jumped towards the wall, not wanting to be within range of the firebeams.

He just needed to vent out some anger for today. "Oh, speak of the devil," he muttered under his breath, catching sight immediately of Toma Nakamura about to practice his fire skill. Quickly, the boy jumped towards the wall, not wanting to be within range of the firebeams. (so sorry its taken a moment!) Koharu glanced up over the rim of her tea as she heard Ada storm into her office. She raised an eyebrow, her dark blue eyes sharp yet seemed to express an innocent vibe. Of course, that was a lie. She was far from innocent. "Hm...? Oh, Ada, you're up. What has you in a mood this morning?" She chuckled softly and sipped on her tea again, feeling the warmth flow through her, "Not enough sleep?" She didn't like it when her subordinates didn't sleep at night. It made them too fussy and stubborn the next day. She wondered if Ada would like tea, too? "Tea? I have a fresh cup brewing." --- Staring carefully at a dummy in the center of the training area, Toma practiced his calculations on timing and aiming his fire at the distance. It wasn't too hard; after all, he had grown up with this ability since he was young. He'd grown into it, more like. And now that he was able to understand his capacity to hold the flames in during certain moments (like when he'd get really pissed off during an investigation), he was sure he could train easier. Koharu had helped raise him, and she had taught him most of his capabilities with his "problem". He appreciated it. However, with the sudden changes at the Agency and some of the newer members being complete nuisances, his patience with the Agency itself and his President had decreased rapidly. He let a large flame begin to blaze from his palm, working it's way up his arm. He was able to control the areas of his body it moved to now. But he had to be careful, he didn't want his clothes to become scorched, either. The last time that happened, he ended up naked in front of his coworkers, and it wasn't a great sight, either. He knew his scars had been seen by multiple people in the Agency that day, and it made him wish he could disappear right at that moment. He halted his fire production when he heard someone else enter the training area with him. Glancing around without turning his body, he saw Evariste near the walls. He grunted a low laugh at the sight. "Scared, runt?" He mumbled, before tossing the flame at the dummy nearby. It hit it's scalp with ease.

Sorry there's no reply now - I gotta log off for now but I'll put up a response shortly. I still have yet to make a Port Mafia member too. I hope others join! )

( Sorry, Ada just leaves. Maybe we should just leave them alone to work for a moment, focus on Galois and Toma before resuming these ladies? They could go out on a mission later. )
Ada just scowled. "Oh, just shut up," she muttered, giving the woman a fiery glare. There was a pause, almost silent except for the whirring of Ada's computer from a couple cubicles down. The noise only served to irritate her more. She let out a forceful breath before saying under her breath, "I don't have time for this." Her long brown curls whipped around her back as she turned and stormed back to her cubicle.
"No!" Evariste protested immediately, shoving his hands in his pockets. Though this was an office, he never liked wearing particularly formal clothing. Just a simple long sleeves with his school-distributed jacket over it. The boy stood defiantly before Koharu, but still did not make any move closer. "I'm just watching," he added, quieter.
Honestly, he was a little cautious, but who wouldn't be if they stood near a guy who could shoot fire out of his palms? The dummy burst into flame immediately, the canvas glowing, curling, and blackening beneath the hot orange glow. Evariste wasn't about to get scorched this morning. Maybe another time, he thought with an amused smirk, when I'm feeling more angry and have worse decision-making capabilities.
He'd gotten into a good number of fights during his life, some of which he regretted and others of which he wished he could go back and pummel his opponent even harder. Once again, he didn't intend to start one. Even thinking about some of those incidents began to rock the waves of fury within him, and Evariste had to take a moment to just breathe. Focus himself back into the present. None of those fights had been with a firebender, and he wasn't about to vent out some mild annoyance onto this man.
Anger aside, however, what he had stated earlier was the complete truth. Though he originally meant to step out to let out his own anger, the clearer part of his brain was pulled towards Koharu's fire power. It's useless to ponder how that's physically possible though, he thought, biting the inside of his cheek. It looked cool, and that was all that mattered in the instant. Just standing aside, head tilted and hands in his pockets, he watched on.

Just standing aside, head tilted and hands in his pockets, he watched on. Toma chuckled softly and began to circle the dummy. He noticed it was scorched, nearly to a crisp. Koharu would not like that he'd destroyed the new training dummy, especially since she just replaced it after he killed the other one too. Oh, well. What did she or any other member of the organization going to expect? He had a fire bending ability. And one he was still getting used to, after his last bad accident... "So," He started, wanting to get the images that were beginning to plague his mind out of his head, "Do you want to train with me? Obviously, you didn't just come out here to watch me shoot fireballs at a dummy." He shifted his temperature change to his feet, whispering the name of his ability under his breath before throwing a kick shot at the dummy. His feet were ablaze, the action causing the dummy's head to completely get knocked off. He snickered. He was glad he'd gotten practice on being able to change where he increased his body heat, and to keep it in that one place. The first time he used his ability after his accident, he ended up making his whole body a human flame torch and caused destruction for half of the Agency building. ---------- (i'll repost my Port Mafia character's starter in case anyone with a port mafia character or any character honestly can rp with her ^^ ) Himeyo Fujioka didn't like to do the dirty work her superiors left her to do. Fumiko Enchi blinked the sleep away from her eyes, shivering slightly. It was cold. The fact that she had spent the night in a hospital bed didn't help. Wearily she reached to pull out the IV tubes from the port in her left wrist. It had been a long night's work and every time the young woman closed her eyes she'd recall the things she had done in the dark like a hazy dream.
Fumiko had been given many epithets. Wraith, demon, witch. Her personal favorite and arguably most accurate was nightmare. Fumiko Enchi could drive people insane. There was a catch however, there always is. Fumiko could only use her power while her own body was sleeping. As long as she was asleep, she could use her spirit to take possession of other's minds and bodies.
There once was a time when Fumiko was capable of sleeping naturally, but as the missions and targets assigned to her by the Port Mafia had increased in importance she had begun to rely on a drug induced slumber when the mission was too vital to risk her waking up suddenly.
Her work for the Port Mafia had taken a toll on her body. Omnipresent dark shadows lurked under her thighs. Her once youthful face had become gaunt. She had lost her sense appetite and even now lived in a constant state of exhaustion. She had become a walking ghost in both mind and body.
The thing was, Fumiko Enchi did not care. Prior to joining the Port Mafia she had held poetry classes for high school girls and tried her best to write freelance on the side. Small and soft spoken, the world had passed by her without a second glance. She had dreamed of being powerful. Until one day her dreams weren’t dreams but reality and her soul flung itself from the confines of her own body. Soon after the Port Mafia came knocking. Fumiko’s work may be killing her, but the deep dark truth was that she enjoyed what she did.
The young woman cracked her neck and rolled her shoulders, leisurely stretching as she carefully wrapped her left wrist with the long bandages she wore over her port when awake. She slid down from the bed and slicked down her long hair. Her black roots were beginning to show, she had dyed her hair gray a while ago. The rest of her clothes were arranged neatly on a table on the other side of the room. Black pumps, gray blazer, and silver wire spectacles.
By the time Fumiko walked out of the room she looked more of a prim businesswoman than a member of the Port Mafia. She needed to give her report to a higher up in the Port Mafia, but Fumiko Enchi lived by only one rule in life: coffee first.
With that one directive in mind, the unassuming young women set of to find a hot cup of black coffee.
