I've seen lots of opinions on the subject of realism in wc, some people prefer more humanized cats and some people just don't, but mostly I see a mix of both, so i guess I'm curious what aspects of warriors you would change to make more realistic if you could, or even what would you make more humanized?
I would definitely humanize the cats by having them just understand human words. I kind of get sick of hearing "monster" "twoleg" "shiny thing with a sharp stick" like just let them learn new words. They've met so many kittypets and not ONE has been like 'yeeeeaaah that's a car dude'. It would be cool to see the clan's language and vocabulary evolve as they meet new cats and LEARN new things
I'd make it more realistic by having the vets just... spay/neuter clan cats that come in. Tallstar, Graystripe, Twigbranch all should have been fixed. Also we could have avoided the whole twig/fin fight by spaying her. I can't imagine a vet helping a sick/injured feral cat and then just letting them go without fixing them, especially not a young female like Twigbranch.

I personally don't mind it much, since it shows that the cats—however humanized their minds are—are still animals. This is true for alot of talking animal stories anyway. They have to be humanized for there to be a story like Warriors to work. This doesn't mean it isn't completely devoid of realism, as they still portray what life may be like in the wild and many fans can relate to the characters.
Although, I do agree that you'd think the Clans would be a bit more knowledgeable on human things by now. The kittypets also seem to be inconsistent on their knowledge as well, like calling their housefolk Twolegs on occasion.

Some things I base on human aspects, like how kit abuse and abuse in general is very wrong, and with morals and aspects like cats shrugging or crying, I’m actually fine with that.
Things like age gaps though, do not bother me, so long as the cats are consenting adults. PineLeopard, ThornBlossom, ect. Those are all fine to me. Also, pelt colors and genetic realism does not matter to me very much.

My gosh do I wish the cats were fixed if they went to the vet. Honestly my theory is Twigbranch was fixed which is why she doesn't want kits

Warriors is fiction, so I don't expect too much realism. However, you're right that their language should have changed a bit.

I have a love hate relationship with the amount of violence. On the one hand, single bites and slashes being lethal is unrealistic and I kind of wish we got deaths by strangulation more, as that'd be more common. On the other hand, it can't be denied that there's a hell of a lot of dramatic value to those one shot, one kill moments.
