When Bael turned down Samar's offer, she simply shrugged and sank the final shot. She had heard of this White Devil in her line of work, but had never heard little more than rumors. She hadn't known the name was quite so literal, but that was because hers tended to be less so - at least, now it was. She filed away that little nugget for later, certain it would be of some use. With everything that had changed so rapidly recently, it was still difficult to tell what would happen one day from the next, or who you might suddenly find yourself aligned with. That was one identity mystery solved, at least. But as for the bartender... he obviously knew her. That in itself wasn't a surprise. She knew her reputation proceeded her, and her appearance wasn't exactly subtle. Though most people Samar encountered as Rapier weren't alive very long to speak of it, much less recognise her somewhere else. She was getting the distinct feeling like she was missing something here and it was one of her least favourite things. "Wouldn't you like to know," she finally said with a smile that was an attempt at being coy. Nevertheless she continued, "Do you really think I'd be here I still had work to do? I'm not here for you, if that's what you're wondering. That ship has already sailed tonight." She stared at her empty shot glasses, considered buying more, but decided against it. Instead, she turned her inquisitive gaze back to the bartender. "You obviously know who I am, but I still don't know who you are. You're clearly more than just a bartender so I think it's time to cough up." If he knew who she was and was bold enough to ask questions about it she now didn't mind prying into him too.

-- kai nicollier
Alright, so she'd already taken the hit. Kai was happy with that, it gave him something specific to look into. She wanted his name, though, and he didn't feel like being dramatic by announcing his nickname to the entire club. "I'm just an acquaintance of your boss," he said, smiling and knowing she got direct orders from the Fournier brothers themselves. They weren't going to let target information go through a game of telephone, and telling Rapier directly was much safer. And then there was only one person to blame if something went wrong. But Γmile would have predicted that by then. Apparently, nothing went wrong. This did, however, mean that the Fourniers were taking steps into Radial City, into the nightlife. He had to wonder how they were planning on getting in--their business background made them perfect for Downtown, but clubs and kids? Maybe... owning a couple of clubs and distributing Ash? Making a move before Shah was cold in the ground--interesting. Anyway. "You can ask them about me later." Which was, No, I'm not telling you now, but I see no harm in you knowing.

A Spade walked over to the bar. Frowning at the lack of seats, the woman walked up and as politely as she could, booted a drunkard off of a chair. "Oi, barkeep, hit me up with an Old Fashioned." She wasnβt exactly here for fun. She was here on business. This particular task she was assigned was information gathering. Ver Tahesh may not have had anything to do with Spades, but everyone sure as hell wanted to know what happened. Any information she overheard or could get out of someone could at least give her a lead. Keeping her head low, she listened to the others around her. Nothing interesting seemed to be happening...well, yet anyway.
Waiting for her drink to be served, the woman leaned her elbow on the counter, resting her head on her palm. She was tired after a long day of searching for nothing. She could have sworn she walked the length of the entire city, and to no avail. The only reason she happened to stumble into this particular club was because she was desperate. Both for some information, and a few drinks. Shutting her heavy eyes for a second, she opened them to notice two giants on the opposite side of the counter. The corner of her lips turned up into a half-smile. Whatever was going on with them she didn't know, but from her point-of-view they kind of looked like lovebirds. Anyway, despite the punk-ish way she was dressed, Ash wasn't looking for trouble. She knew better than to start something in a place as crowded as this.
The other two that caught her eye were the bartender and the woman with the eyepatch, who were having a conversation. Keeping her eyes focused on some of the alcohol behind the counter, she tuned into what the eyepatch girl was saying.

Samar smiled at him when he answered, something satisfied and calculating in her grin. She could accept that, for now. The nature of their aquaintence still alluded her and Samar wasn't one for speculation, though she would ensure she'd find out the answer soon enough. At least this wasn't an unfriendly face she had encountered tonight. "Well maybe we'll be seeing each other again then," she mused, deciding she wouldn't mind. It led to her wanting to ask other questions that weren't appropriate for the place and situation, especially when she was so far away from home. But Samar could be patient. She rifled through the inner pocket of her jacket, straightening out a few bills that she knew would more than cover the tab, sliding them across the bar. "Thanks for the drinks and the conversation, but I should probably be making my way back, reporting back in and all." She shot a glance to the woman who had sat down beside her, taking in the outfit and hair with a quick slide of her eyes. The bar was getting a little too... opposing for her taste. Best to leave before anyone else recognised her. "The tip is in there too," she added as she stood up to leave and then made her way out through the crowd.

Elwyn Azal; StardustΒ 25; she/her; Thief(Unaffilated); High PriestessΒ - Serious, realistic, and trusts very few(if any)people. She's extremely stubborn and will rarely, if ever, budge on her decisions and choices. She's caring and tends to watch out for those less fortunate.Β - Long, silvery-blonde hair that's generally tied into braid. About 5'5'' with dark skin, pointed features, amber eyes, and a slightly musclar build.Β - Teleportation; she can teleport about 7ft max in any direction. However the further she teleports the longer it takes for her to do it again. It can take anywhere from thirty seconds to a few minutes to "recharge". She can't pass through solid objects and won't teleport in complete darkness in concern for her own safety. Whenever she uses her ability, she leaves a little bit of silvery-white dust from where she teleports.Β Pryderi Eder; The WatcherΒ 67; he/him; Accountant(Fourniers); The HermitΒ - Quiet, watchful, and intelligent. Usually keeps to himself, but always up for a good conversation. Tends to be more of an observer than someone who takes action. - Short, hunched stature at 5'1'' with tan skin. He's a little overweight and bald with a short gray beard, and blue eyes. He's slightly wrinkled and wears over-sized glasses.Β - Painting the future; during the night of the full moon, he will get a vision from the most likely future. The only times he doesn't have a vision is during a storm or heavy cloud cover. During the vision he will paint what he sees. However the painting never shows faces and they tend to be vague. He forgets what he's seen after a few minutes and never knows when the event will happen.Β

(I tend to go to bed at around 9-10 CDT if you wanted to know)
Once it came to Bael's attention that there was a bouncer right behind him, he scoffed in disgust "great service you got here, elf." He jerked his arm away from the bouncer after he felt the tap and stood up "don't touch me, I was leaving anyway." With a huff, he grabbed the napkin from the counter and pushed his way through the crowd. He didn't need the scowls anyway. The vision that Ezra saw seemed rather incoherent and contained very hostile vibes. It flashed from one person to the next, in a disjointed manner, but the message itself was clear enough. "What the hell is wrong with your head?" "I can't take this anymore, you have to leave?" "Why did you do that?! You're giving people a reason to believe those rumors!" "Don't make assumptions about a woman you never met. She wouldn't have taken care of you, even if she was alive." "I don't see why you're so paranoid, dad won't know." "Honestly, I doubt anyone would care if you just drop dead. Heck, they might even be relieved." "You're just an accident. Don't try to act like you're anything better than a mistake." All of the phrases and jeers seem to mangle together, as if the instances were so similar that they just ended up meshed together. Many pieces were missing, as if there were many things he were trying to forget.

Elwyn had been sitting in a corner of the club for a few hours, observing the various patrons who came and went. Most, it seemed, were there to have a good time and hang out at the bar while others were clearly looking for trouble. Elwyn paid little mind to them, they weren't her concern and she wasn't there for them. Instead she waited for her latest employer, a middle-aged man who hired her to get some family heirloom back, to get there. As she waited, the thief scanned the room once more. She noticed a pale-skinned man leaving the bar in a huff, a woman near-by throwing a drunk from their seat, and the bartender chatting up a woman they served. It was nothing new, just the same things she observed in the hours she waited. Eventually her gaze fell back on the door where a ragged figure entered the fray. For a moment the pair locked gazes and Elwyn nodded. The man, who seemed a bit jumpy, quickly scurried to the woman's table and lookee over his shoulder.
"You look suspicious Mr. Baker. Relax, take a deep breath, and quit jittering." The man nodded with hesitation, but made a clear effort to calm himself.
"I'm...I'm sorry I'm late," the man muttered as he settled into his seat. "I had to make sure I wasn't followed and then I got lost- I usually don't come around this part of the city -so it took longer to get to find you. Anyway that's not what we're here for, do you have...the thing." Elwyn rolled her eyes, reaching for the cloth. She pulled it out and revealed the item. It was a gold watch with intricate designs carved into the sides. As Mr. Baker's face lit up, Elwyn pulled out a small bag and gently placed it on the table.
"Open it," she commanded simply. Once more the thief's employer hesitated, but quickly reached for small, black bag. Excitment was replaced with shock, which turned into a tearful joy. Mr. Baker grabbed Elwyn's hand and shook it vigorously.
"Thank you! Seriously Ms. Karmia, this will be a huge benefit to my family, we truly appreciate all you've done. I need to go, but I will always remeber what you've done today." Elwyn only dipped her head in reply as the man left. Once he was gone, the woman smirked. Adan Karmia, just another one of her many aliases. No one knew her real name, at least as far as she knew, and she was fine with that. With her work over Elwyn slumped in her seat and let herself relax a little.

-- kai nicollier & ezra bishara
The two left, and Kai had no problem with that, but they were replaced by another women who addressed him rather rudely. This wasn't an old western town--it was a club in a lawless city, sure, but we had respect for the proletariat around here. She was a Spade, that was for sure, since she had that tattoo on the back of her hand. "Maybe if you show me some ID," he said, smiling still. It didn't matter whether or not she looked young; she didn't ask nicely, and therefore Kai was going to be annoying about it. Besides, no one ordered old fashioneds except for old people who liked bourbon and young people who thought asking for one made them look older. "And if you keep roughhousing my patrons, I'll have to call someone over." Tossing someone on the ground was very unwelcome, and even though Ezra had left the bar after his brief, odd encounter with Whitey, he was still nearby. No doubt watching.
And he was watching this woman, just to see her memories. She did not come here for a drink, that much was obvious. He was trying to see if she knew of the Serpent, if she had other motivations. There was too much trouble tonight--first that edgy kid, and now this. It wasn't real trouble, for sure--the Rapier was an interesting sight, and he'll talk to Kai about that later. He saw who she killed, anyway. But she was not an issue.

"That won't be a problem." Crossing her right leg over her left, Ash reached into her pocket, pulling out her ID. She held it between her middle and index finger, and extended it out for him to check. While he looked it over, Ash glanced him up and down. It wasn't out of suspicion - she was honest-to-God just checking him out. Besides that, the name printed on her ID said 'Ash Blythe'. She had nothing to hide, really. The only thing worth hiding was the Spade tattoo, since other gangs and the like weren't so fond of people like her. 'Street Gang', they were called. "Well I wasn't gonna stand around all night and wait for an open seat." Oh and yes, the card was legal. That was the perk of having so many Spade members. Through networking and the right amount of funds, you can get just about anything in this city. Except for information, apparently.
"Anything else you'd like to know before I can get my drink?" Old Fashioned, although it may appeal to the 'old and youngsters', had always been her favorite, if she ever did drink. She was more of a coffee person herself. Raising an eyebrow at the bartender, she was pleasantly surprised to see the other two leave out of the corner of her eye. The woman with the eyepatch, something about her seemed off, and Ash wasn't receiving good vibes from her. And the giant, he seemed like he could get in the way from her getting the info she needed.
-
Ash's recent memories consisted of a burly man, also a Spade, as recognizable by the tattoo on his neck. He was telling Ash to go out and get information about Riven Shah, and basically anything else she could about Ver Tahesh. It had been at the top of her mind all day, since it was an order from a superior, and also because she didn't want to imagine going back without information. Going even further back to the dark depths of her memory, she's always lived a life of crime, ranging from theft to arson and all sorts of troublesome things. She just kind of lived on her own day-by-day, trying to get around, before she was adopted by the Spades. So the thought of letting them down was prevalent in her mind. That also explained the troublesome way she acted.
