A few minutes had past since Mr. Baker left. Elwyn contiuned to sit alone and in silence, just wanting to relax. The previous job had been unusually stressful and more challenging than previous ones. She was just glad it was over and done with. After a moment, the woman got up and headed towards the door. Weaving between the various drunkards the thief made her way out of the club and onto the sidewalk. Keeping her head down, Elwyn began walking down the sidewalk. She passed various people, but paid little mind to them. Always keep to yourself on the streets, that was one of the first rules her parents taught her. It was a rule she stuck to. The second was trust no one. Even those closest to you will probably betray you.
Elwyn sighed, continuing to walk along the sidewalk. Hands in her pockets of her green jacket, she slowly paced along. She didn't know where she was going and didn't care at that moment. As the thief walked along, she spotted a pale-skinned man. She recognized him from the bar immediately. The White Devil some people had called him. Although she didn't let it show, curiosity crept into her mind as she got closer to the man.

It was real, and twenty five? Really? Drinking an old fashioned? Why? That was his same question to anyone who drank gin and tonic, since gin was basically gasoline and tonic was... tonic. In the end, it was the fault of the British, as were most things. "No, you're good," he said, handing the ID back. Just because she was blatantly a Spade didn't mean the ID was fake, anyway--the Fourniers were the best at counterfeiting because of the money, and Spade owned businesses didn't ask questions. So if anything, he should be checking anyone in a suit. Kai started on the drink, muddling a sugar cube with a few shakes of bitters when he felt that gaze from her, surprisingly enough. He acted like he didn't notice, but smiled more than he was. When he was done, he placed the glass on a cocktail napkin and flashed a grin to her while serving it. After, he glanced nonchalantly over at Ezra, who narrowed his eyes. Ah, okay. Up to no good, then. But he wasn't sure if she knew who he was, so he wasn't going to say anything yet. The thing was, she didn't look like she had money, and you needed to buy information from Kai, that was the whole deal. "Anything else I can get you?" he parroted back at her in a kinder tone, the glitter on his cheeks reflecting off of the lights over the bar.

"Much obliged." Ash responded, tucking her identification card back into her pocket. Upon waiting, she grabbed a spare napkin that laid unused near her, took out a pen, and scribbled something down on it. Some things weren't best said out loud, so jotting something down was the next best thing. Folding it once, she held onto it for a moment, until her drink was placed in front of her. "I believe this belongs in the trash." She teased, offering a smug grin. The note wrote - Riven Shah. Ver Tahesh. Know anything? Will be compensated appropriately, of course. Anything you desire. Ash may not look wealthy, but she certainly held her own in this city of Vadejira. Unfortunately, she wasn't Fourniers rich, that would be absurd. To be honest, she despised the Fourniers because they flaunted themselves so. Also, it was true that she had no idea who this man was, but figured it would be better to ask people questions here, rather than in the streets.
Setting down the now-empty glass, her lips curved up into a smile. "Pretty good, I'll admit." It was high praise, coming from a woman who only drank on occasion. "I'll go for one more, if you're so kind?" There was no guarantee he would even acknowledge her note, especially here and now, but whatever. Maybe...it wasn't the best idea now that she thought about it. Throwing those names around could mean her harm, especially with a bouncer over six-feet tall standing just a few good paces away from her. No pressure.

It had been a little over 10 minutes since he left the bar, but Bael was still frustrated about being kicked out. He crumpled up the napkin he had snatched earlier and set it ablaze before dropping it on the ground. Soon, he kicked it into the street and continued on his way. Bars suck. Clubs suck. Anything similar to that sucks. As he made his way down the sidewalk, he couldn't help but feel as though he was being watched. Of course, he was used to it, especially considering how he stuck out so much. Still, he didn't like being stared at. While he continued walking, he slowly looked behind himself and noticed a woman walking behind him. "Great" he mumbled, looking back ahead. He wasn't in a talking mood, so he just hoped she didn't intend to talk to him. He just hoped he was only being paranoid.

As Elwyn passed the man, she couldn't help but notice the way he readjusted his stance. She saw how he shifted his feet awkwardly and moved his shoulders like he was unable to relax. As she walked past him, she stopped and settled beside the man about two feet away. She sliently played with her hair for a few minutes, waiting to see if the man would speak. When he offered up no conversation, Elwyn smiled and glanced at him.
"The White Devil. What does someone have to do to earn a name like that? I mean calling someone a 'devil' has a negative conntation, unless of course." She didn't know who the man was and had only heard his nickname a few times in passing. But she was curious as to why the people at the club were uneasy around him. Perhaps she'd get some answers by talking to him.

When the woman stopped beside him, Bael couldn't help but be a bit annoyed. He wasn't ready to deal with people at the moment, but he was too tired to actually try and tell her to leave. When she asked about the name, he took off his sunglasses and wiped them down on his shirt. "Dunno" he replied "a lot of fights I suppose." He assumed that had something to do with it, but also had a feeling the devil part may have come from his dislike of being out in the sunlight. Depending on how harsh the sunlight got, it felt like he would burn up in seconds. That aspect would have also made sense, though he didn't really care about it. "So, tell me, why are you so interested?" Bael asked, half muttering under his breath. He didn't know what to think about this woman. He'd never seen her before and wasn't sure what she wanted exactly.

Elwyn watched the man, carefully studying him. She rocked on her heels as the pale man spoke.
"Ah," she replied with a nod. "That's certainly one way to get a name I suppose. Anyway I'm just...a curious soul who likes talking to people. You also had an peculiar name and I was interested to know how you got it." After a few moments of silence, the dark-skinned woman spoke again.
"So, do you work for anyone? Like along the lines of the Fourtines, Spades, or Ver Tahesh? Or do you have your own business?" Elwyn inwardly cringed at her bluntness. Like he would be honest about who he worked for, especially if he belonged in one of the factions. However she forced the feelings down and kept a cool head. She wanted to be careful with what she showed and said. Each of the factions had extremely skilled people- some people more skilled than even her -who could get a read even through small mannerisms. Elwyn contiuned to rock on her heels as she waited for the man's reply.

Bael's pale blue eyes glanced at the woman with a mix of irritation and confusion. After a moment, he looked down as he put his sunglasses back on. While he was annoyed at the frequency of her questions, he was somewhat relieved that she seemed to be uninterested in causing any immediate harm to him. It would give him the chance to actually relax for a bit. "I wouldn't call it peculiar" Bael muttered under his breath. "It's not the most degrading thing I've been called anyway. I don't much care for these names either way. They seem unnecessary." When she asked about working for anyone, he let out an amused snort. "Hell no I don't. I have no intention of participating in their turf wars. I'd rather do things my own way." He crossed his arms and shook his head "though, I don't know what you mean by "my own business". You asking if I own a company or something?"

Still rocking on her heels, the woman nodded. "I see your point, however sometimes it might be better to have some sort of nickname than for people to have your real one. But of course I suppose that's just my philosophy."
She contiuned to listen to The White Devil, nodding along. She flashed a smile when he complained about the factions. Judging by his reaction it seemed he was telling the truth, however she was still weary of the answer. Plenty of people were skilled liars and he could be no exception.
"Well everyone has a job. Some of us are tailors, others are factory workers, or doctors. Others are thieves, drug runners, or assassians. So by business I'm asking if you work some humble day job or if your more into illegal dealings. However judging by your nickname I'm inclined to believe it's the latter." Elwyn wasn't usually so bold or straightforward, but she wanted to know who the man was. It was good to have tabs on people and know who was working for who. Even if she rarely tangled in those kinds of dealings, knowledge was a powerful thing. Best way to find out was to ask questions and if worse came to worse she could just flee.

"At this point, there isn't much of a difference between the two. A private life is pretty much impossible." Bael grunted, shaking his head. His terrible reputation came around before people started calling him by his nickname, so an alias would do nothing for him.
As the woman talked about jobs, Bael went silent for a couple moments. He never liked working for other people, but the same applied the other way around. No one wanted to employ someone who is known for insubordination and fits of rage, so that left Bael unemployed. Even if he could make money doing illegal work, he chose not to specifically because he didn't want to.
"How about you, then?" Bael asked, dodging her previous question "it seems kind of selfish to ask all these questions without providing your own answers. Or are you just that kind of person, a thief of information?" While he didn't much care for any of her answers, he didn't want to be giving such information for nothing. He'd rather get something in return, even if it wasn't something he didn't need.

(Bleck I've been busy all day. But I finally found some time to reply. Also 12 hour car rides are the worse. Hope you get all the rest you need.)
The woman laughed. "I suppose you have a point. I guess it just depends on the kind of person you are." Elwyn was exactly that type of person. There were people who would silence her if they knew her true name. It also didn't help she had taken back and stolen very valuable things from well-known people. But those weren't things the man needed to worry about or need to know.
"Ah me? I'm just someone who takes deliveries," the dark-skinned woman replied evenly. She hesitated briefly before contiuning."People hire me to pick up something, I get it then deliever it back to them. Information isn't really my game." But it Intel is always useful, she added silently. After a moment passed, she leaned towards The White Devil and held out her hand.
"The name's Inanna McAlister by the way. How about you? Anything else I can call ya?"

It wasn't as if Kai wouldn't go for it--there was the possibility of money, and that was enough. But Gods was this dumb. A packed club and you slip the bartender something like this? Yeah, way to be stealth. As if there aren't faction spies crawling up the walls here. Maybe literally--you never knew if a spider was actually a spider or a shifter. The worst were those who had mastered invisibility; Kai was envious and paranoid about them. He took the note and threw it away after glancing at it quick enough no one would see. When he threw it out, though, it disappeared once it hit the shade from the overhang of the counter. No one would notice that, and he couldn't just toss it here. This girl just waltzed in and made a paper trail, who did that? But Kai did not show his annoyance to even acknowledgement of the note, obliging her with another drink before going to the back to get another bottle of top shelf whiskey. Soon after the door shut, it unable to be heard over the discord of the club, Ezra practically pulled Ash out of her seat. "You're going to have to come with me," he said, low and loud enough for her to hear. Kai had given him a look before going into the back--he didn't need more whiskey, he just had to address this. Ezra brought her to the exit near the bar, a fire exit also used to toss people out. He took her around the corner, where her favorite bartender was standing.
"Are you an idiot? A week after Shah and you start writing notes like little clues for anyone to find? Jesus," Kai said, voice a little lower than it was when he was behind the bar. He tended to go higher for his "retail" persona. Submissive. People liked that.

"Hey-" Ash sneered at the man who forced her out of her seat. "You can't kick me out, I haven't started round two yet!" Huffing, the woman obliged regardless, walking beside the bouncer. After having one drink, she couldn't just stop there. But before she knew it, here she was, face-to-face with the bartender and the bouncer. "So, you know anything or-" Oh great, he was scolding her. She wasn't in the mood, nor did she have the patience to listen to this nonsense. "Listen, I didn't come here to be lectured. And I figured writing it down would be better because someone could overhear it." Sighing, she realized how stupid of an idea it sounded now. "Well anyway, writing a note is more private, in a way. You could've at least ripped it, you know." Shrugging her shoulders, Blythe continued to speak. "If anyone did happen to see, which nobody did, they'll be after me, so I don't see why you're the one freaking out." Planting one hand on her hip, she glanced up at the both of them, standing at only five foot five. (Assuming she's the shortest haha.)
To be honest, she'd never even considered the fact that there were others who could potentially be invisible, shapeshift, or have x-ray vision. She wasn't exactly the brightest of the bunch. Stealth wasn't exactly something she was great at, thanks to her choice of clothing. But lessons could be learned in time, of course. "Sooooo~" Staring first at Ezra, then at Kai, she proposed the question once more. "What do you two know?" Now that they were in a better area, she put on a charming smile, flashing a few hundreds their way. The specific amount was three hundred, but they were folded neatly in half, and that part was hidden behind her hand, so it appeared as if there were more. Cheap tactic, but sometimes she got lucky. If she carried any more on her, she was paranoid she would find a way to lose it somehow.

(Sorry for not replying sooner, I was busy yesterday and spent most of today playing Persona 5, so I ended up looking track of time)
"Yeah" Bael muttered under his breath. He couldn't help but feel somewhat envious that those people were able to keep their lives separated in that way. Though, the life that required such separation was not something he actually wanted.
When she mentioned deliveries, he squinted "So, a delivery person? Like post office?" He let out a sigh and scratched the side of his head, causing dried chunks if hair fell to flake off. "That's a stupid way to describe something so simple." As he looked back at her, he could see her outstretched a hand to him. For a moment, he was confused, but then listened as she introduced herself.
"Inanna?" He grumbled lightly, looking from his hand to her's. After a short moments of pause, he extended his other hand, not wanting to shake her hand with the one he scratched his head with. He waited for a moment before saying "Bael. That's what I call myself anyways"

He was... annoyed, this girl was acting childish. Clearly she didn't know who she was dealing with, and that was proven when she pulled out three hundred dollars. Kai laughed a little. "Not much for three hundred, and that's if they're real," he said, pulling a false bill pen from his waist apron. It would be stupid if he didn't check--any person taking cash should have a method for proof. Kai wasn't about to get scammed. "You did happen to go to the right place--I'm an informant," he said, not seeing it pertinent to reveal his identity. "Which means I do have what you want and I know much more than anyone else, but I don't sell cheap." Anything more would be giving her free information. Kai wasn't about to tell her he worked with the Fourniers, because that was too much without a charge. He would take the three hundred in exchange for an equally valuable piece of knowledge, of course, but it wouldn't be much. Who knows what Kai knew? The answer was: whoever had enough money.

The thief shrugged. "Uh yeah. I probably could've said it better, but my parents always told I explained things weirdly." Elwyn smiled fondly as she thought of her parents. They taught her everything she knew and she could only hope she could make them proud in return.
Elwyn smiled when The White Devil shook her hand. "Bael? Interesting name." She moved back after a moment and nodded to herself. She had a name to a face and possibly a new contact if she ever needed it. She succeeded in what she set out to do and was relieved she didn't have to stay there for much longer.
