Sovereign Hearts Academy is an elegant, Gothic-style building, removed from the small town neighboring it by about a mile. The Academy boasts 5 acres of land, including the building itself which is roughly 2 acres large. The land surrounding the academy include a large tournament arena for jousting and duels, a stable and pasture for horses, mews for various hunting birds, an armory, an archery range, and an open-air theatre. The Academy grounds are encircled by a low stone wall, easy enough for someone to step over but clearly marking the school’s limits.
The central building itself is made from white stone, and took roughly 10 years to build. Elegant towers, pilasters, columns, and flying buttresses form the external of the building, partnered with large stained-glass windows and delicate filigree. The Academy’s hallways are elegantly swooping forms made from pillars and arches, and resemble old cathedrals in appearance. Very little of the academy is open to the public, and meetings of family and friends are usually restricted to the Entrance Hall.
The school’s shape from above resembles a large L. The top branch of the ‘L’ holds the student’s personal quarters, including the dining hall, common rooms, library, and infirmary. At the very top of the branch lie the student quarters, taking up space inside a large spiral tower. The top four floors are ladies’ quarters, while the bottom four belong to the gentlemen. Dorms are sparsely furnished, with usually a single bed, nightstand, wardrobe, and desk. However, students are allowed to bring their own decorations and furniture from home to fill their personal rooms, as long as it fits inside the small room. There is no provided school uniform beyond a riding uniform, so students are expected to fill their own closets as well. School staff serve to clean and organize rooms in a student’s absence, but can be told not to do so if a student desires.
At the junction of the L’s branches lies the Entrance Hall, a grand corridor filled with bright stained-glass windows, shedding multicolored fragments of light across the marble tiles. Small seating areas are located around the hallway where visitors can meet and speak with students under a watchful eye. Off the main hall are the Teacher’s Quarters, which are generally lavishly furnished. All professors, faculty, and staff have their own private rooms here, including a private Dining Hall. The Headmaster’s Office is located here as well, and if a student enters these quarters it’s generally assumed they’re off to be disciplined.
The lower branch of the L holds the Academy’s classrooms. Classrooms are small, stone rooms, usually with a few stained-glass windows and neatly arranged desks. In addition to the classrooms themselves, there is also a small courtyard located in this wing of the Academy. A large lecture hall is located here as well, but is usually reserved to the Headmaster’s speeches and Public Speaking finals.

♡ Edgewynne ♡
Ruled by Baron Conrad Maison and Baroness Valentine Maison
Edgewynne is comprised of large, open, rolling fields, with a few sparse forests on its Northern edge. The country focuses on farming, and many small, independent fields can be found throughout the countryside, along with several larger plantations. Animal herding and rearing is also common, and many people navigate the countryside by horseback. Roads here are unpaved and unkempt, and there are only a few large cities to speak of. Ardvine is a large farming community nestled between plantations, housing a small population of craftsmen and travelers. Tagow is the country’s capital city, and holds the Baron’s manor, as well as an assortment of small businesses. It is also the trade center of the country, and many farmers bring their goods here to transport along the Cerise River to other nations. Inggate is a quaint city that rests just outside Sovereign Hearts Academy, holding many small shops that serve as both entertainment for students on their days off and a place for farmers to gather and trade.
♡ Edgewynne is an old, rustic country, having been one of the first kingdoms established on the continent. The Baron and the Baroness rule together, linked by their bond of marriage. Neither views themselves as superior, and they consult each other in everything they do. Throughout their history, they’ve remained out of conflicts, only occasionally stepping in to negotiate treaties. Edgewynne was the country who offered to host Sovereign Hearts Academy, primarily because of their neutral standing and efforts towards making peace in other countries. The only thing the Academy needed to do in return was offer free tuition to their royalty, which was readily offered. In recent years, Edgewynne has become more isolationist, preferring to keep to their own problems rather than reaching out to others. ♡ The Baron and Baroness have 3 children- a son(16-18) and two daughters(Eulalia and 14-16). The Baron has a sister with her own family- mostly too young to attend the Academy, but one daughter(15-17) who can. The Baroness has no extended family, and was her parent’s only child. ♡ Edgewynne has issued a Declaration of Neutrality, stating that it will not engage in any wars or fights between countries. This is primarily due to it housing Sovereign Hearts, but also because of the country’s size and lack of military power. ♡

♡ Corovir ♡
Ruled by Queen Rohesia Ratcliff
Corovir is situated deep within the Northern mountains, building their villages into cliffsides and narrow valleys. Corovir’s economy focuses primarily on mining precious metals from the mountains, and nearly all their settlements are on top of veins of these materials. Several people have also taken up herding, raising small colonies of goats and sheep that can withstand the cold in small settlements. Travel between cities is incredibly difficult, and there are only a few well-maintained passes that allow for easy access to the mountains. Bares is a city located right outside the first pass, right at the bottom of Corovir’s territory. They’re also referred to as the ‘gatekeepers’, as they can prevent many attempts to enter the mountains by closing the pass. The only other major settlement is Ovedena, located on the mountain cliffs overlooking the ocean. The Queen’s palace is located here, as well as the country’s main port, used to trade their goods across the ocean.
♡ Corovir is a traditionally isolationist country, boxing itself up in the mountains rather than engaging in conflicts. The only real contact they have is with the coastal countries they trade with, and even then they remain distant. Corovir is traditionally run by a King who has official say on all the country’s policies. However, Queen Rohesia held on to the throne after her husband’s untimely death, claiming she would hold power until her eldest son became of age. While most don’t mind her rule, there are rumors that she will refuse to relinquish the throne to her son, even some going so far as to say she would kill her own child to remain in power. Rohesia has brought her country into more contact with others, forming a few alliances with countries in order to gather more demand for their products. ♡ Rohesia has 4 children, 2 sons(only one old enough to attend the Academy, 16-17), and 2 daughters(Hallkatla and 14-15). She has one brother, who publicly plans to put his own children on the throne should she refuse to relinquish it. He has 1 son(Blavier) and 1 daughter(Emonie). Because of this, there’s some bad blood between the families. ♡ Corovir is allied with Laspaolor and Asmenia. They have no enemies currently- due to their previous isolationist attitude, Corovir managed to stay out of many wars that would have impacted their relationships with other countries. ♡

♡ Mätte ♡
Ruled by King Ambrose Guildersleeve
Mätte has always been a fairly militaristic country, being gifted to the most war-minded of the three siblings. They focus more on outward expansion than maintaining diligent trade routes, and the countries they border are never sure when an attack might occur. Despite this, Mätte still maintains some trade with other nations. They mainly produce weaponry, but are also a supplier of lumber due to their land’s dense forests. Mätte has very well kept cities and roads, and their buildings are often more focused on being practical than beautiful. There are five major cities in Mätte one should be aware of. The first of these is Sagos, a coastal city where much of the country’s trading takes place. It meets the junction of a river and the ocean, and is a key point in their economy. Ilapus is a logging city buried deep in the forests, and is the sole largest supplier of lumber in the nation. On the other end of the spectrum lies Haco, an industrial city filled with forges and barracks to train and equip the country’s soldiers. Bordering the Great Lake is the city of Itison, a glorified lookout tower. Here is where the country keeps an eye on its neighbors across the water, waiting for their chance to strike. Finally, Anever is the country’s capital, housing the King and his family. The city is formed from an old fort, and can hold up incredibly well in case of invasion.
♡ Originally, Mätte, Newvale, and Brietan were all one nation, the largest on the continent. However, when it was time for the old King to choose an heir, there were three brothers viable to take the throne. The lightly veiled aggression between the three lead the King to believe that if he selected just one heir, the others would surely plan to kill them. Instead, the King split up his territory into three sections, offering rulership of each to one of the three brothers. This solution appeased them, although the bad blood between the three nations is still palpable. The brother who received control of Mätte was the most aggressive of the three, and always planned on taking back the rest of his father’s territory to rule as his own. However, he died before he could see this vision through, leaving his son Ambrose to finish what he started. All the King’s children are well-trained in combat, as he expects them to carry on his conquest of the world just as his father passed it on to him. ♡ Ambrose has five children with his wife Ursula- three sons(one too young to attend the academy, Franque, 17-20) and two daughters(Adelysia, Oriana). He was his father’s only child, and has no siblings with royal blood. ♡ Mätte is enemies with Newvale and Brietan, and maintain only a light pretense of compatriotism with their neighbors. They are allied with _. ♡

♡ Draekia ♡
Ruled by Emperor Huidelon Moyaux
Draekia is situated deep within the desert, with very few sources of water or food. The reason such a barren land was settled is because of its bountiful resources. Draekia holds great deposits of gold, silver, iron, copper, and salt, making it one of the richest nations in Arian. Their resources help supply many other nations, and they have extensive land and river trading routes. They don’t make good from their materials, though- usually the raw goods are transported to other countries, although a few craftsmen and artisans do exist. There are only a few major cities in the country, although small mining settlements usually arise near large deposits with a well to supply water. Quraso is Draekia’s capital, located on the major oasis the territory contains. It’s fairly well-developed, with brick buildings and paved roads. The Emperor’s palace is located here as well- a gilded stone structure that stands well above the other buildings of the metropolis. The country’s other major city is located on the coast, named Yririe. This city supplies much of the country with food, due to their unique manner of farming. By boiling seawater and collecting steam, they can obtain fresh water suitable for watering large amounts of crops.
♡ Draekia has always been a fairly resource heavy country, and as such has had to fight off many invaders from all sides. They have been occupied a few times by other countries, but always managed to fight their way back to independence. As such, they have a fairly developed military and militia, despite not actively being at war with any countries. ♡ Huidelon has 8 children with his consort Ysoria: four sons(14-15, 16-18, 17-18, Alaric) and four daughters(two too young to attend the academy, Celestria, Junia). He has 4 children with his consort Sewenna: two sons(15-17, 17-19) and two daughters(one too young to attend to Academy, 16-17). Finally, he has 2 children with his consort Chuna: two young daughters(14-15, 14-15[twins]). ♡ They are currently allied with Scio Shea and Mätte. They’re on rocky terms with Estrela, since they believe the merchant nation is a bunch of swindlers and cheats. ♡

♡ Newvale ♡
Ruled by Duke Norman Hawtrey
Newvale is mostly comprised of gently rolling hills and plains, with a few forests on its fringes. The country has expanded very little since its creation, preferring to keep to itself rather than get involved in other wars. Although the country lacks many resources to trade, fruit trees grow surprisingly well on their territory, giving them a steady source of food. The hills also hold small deposits of marble and limestone, which are often used in building. While lacking a strong source of income, the country still manages to remain largely middle-class, although they’re certainly growing poorer. This can be seen both in security as well as maintenance, as many roads have fallen into disrepair. Newvale has four major cities sprinkled through its lands. The first, Ploria, is located on the small shred of coast Newvale owns. This city is used to import goods to the nation, and is incredibly important to the survival of the nation as a whole. Many of the richest citizens live here. Cliross is Newvale’s official capital, and was originally the capital of the three nations before they were split. Although it used to be a grand city, its age is beginning to show, and many buildings are starting to crumble, including the Duke’s palace. Nurhull is a city nestled in between the Great Lake and Mätte, and is a large contributor of agriculture for the country. Many orchards take up the space around this city, and its quite easy to tell when you’re approaching due to the fragrance. Finally, Warrora is the city located deep in the hills, and is heavily populated with lower-class citizens who work on extracting stone and marble from the surrounding areas. Many large quarries break up the land around here, making the terrain treacherous for those not paying close attention to where they place their feet.

Instead, the King split up his territory into three sections, offering rulership of each to one of the three brothers. This solution appeased them, although the bad blood between the three nations is still palpable. The Duke is a yellow-bellied man with no spine, and yet he was forced to control a country of his own. Instead of taking his father’s title, he styled himself ‘Duke’ to avoid stepping on his toes. The Duke is still alive and ruling his country, although now he’s a paranoid, cowardly old man. His wife is the one who keeps him in line, and many say Duchess Oriel is the one who really rules the country. She is certainly more strong-willed, and often refuses what her husband would readily offer. ♡ The Duke and Duchess have eight children: seven daughters(two too young enough to attend the academy, 14-15, Rosalind, 17-18, 18-19, 19-20) and only one son(15-16). ♡ Newvale is enemies with Mätte and Brietan, but have remained out of conflicts. They are allied with [some of their neighbors], due to the Duke being afraid of them invading. ♡

♡ Estrela ♡
Ruled by King Malcolm Briqueville and Queen Branwyne Briqueville
Located on the eastern half of Arian, Estrela’s rocky coastline and towering forests are ill-suited for common and reliable farming. Because of this, the country’s cities are not built around the basis of agriculture, but rather with hunting and trade as their key influencers. Urban areas are designed with easy access to the shoreline, and plenty of man-made harbors, docks, and boatyards create a paradise for both the fishing industry and merchants. Major cities on the coastline include: Cita, Prila, and Ancerith. Cita is a smaller coastal city built around a picturesque marina. The inhabitants of the city are mostly older and more wealthy families, and large estate houses are built close to the waterfront with private beaches and docks. Prila is a large, developing city. Those living in Prila are typically among the lower and working classes, but a big college helps remedy one's first impression of the city. While less focused on the actual art of trading, those living in Prila are typically artisans, using imported materials to create new products to sell. Finally, the capital city Ancerith sits along the northern coastline and is the central hub for sea traffic and exchange. In the center of the city, the royal palace stands carved out of marble, its walls plastered with sand and salt. Sprawling outward like a gear, the rest of the city seems packed together, with bazaars and markets popping up overnight. Everywhere you go in the capital seems bursting with color and life, enough to make one think that they might be caught in a dream. However, not all of Estrela centers around port-cities. For as many cities that exist on the waterfront, countless more are buried deep within the shadowed forests that span the country. These forest havens, while more subdued compared to the bustle of the coast, hold much more worth than any merchant-ridden town. Zohwell is a prime example of a successful forest town. Located in a man-made clearing in the heart of the woods, the city serves as a meeting place for artisans and craftsmen. It is in the forests, not coastal cities, than the major goods and products traded by Estrela are created. The people of Estrela value one core virtue above all: if you can’t win fairly- cheat. Commonfolk and nobility alike pride themselves in being master negotiators, the more swindles the better. Because of this, Estrela has earned a reputation of being a moralless country, its citizen too concerned with their own selfish means to care about others. However, this is not always the case. While Estrela’s society is without a doubt competitive, it promotes success- not selfishness. Physicians, educators, and other people putting their all into selfless jobs are valued as heroes, as they find their success while simultaneously helping others find theirs. Competition is also sung as an asset of the country because it has brought about advancements and improvements in all ways of life. In Estrela it is possible for someone born in poverty, to make their way to the top- but at the same time the opposite is also true. Living in Estrela is truly unpredictable, a fact that citizens either love or hate. Estrela’s society, while patriarchal at heart, requires a cooperation between all genders to succeed. While mostly men become hunters or merchants, women are valued as the mastermind of the family. They are expected to handle everything from issues with children to managing finances. In fact, men are expected to avoid anything too technical or intellectual and are encouraged to use their hands and guile to make money and success rather than manage it. In the noble and ruling classes, there is little that differentiates royalty from the lower classes besides wealth. Children are taught their way around a deal from a young age, with sons shadowing their fathers once they turn ten. Daughters are expected to learn both the art of self-defense as well as the customs and etiquette of other important countries as to not offend their adversaries during important discussions and deals. All children are expected to be well-spoken and cunning, able to subtly influence even the most rigid of leaders.
♡ Originally only a fraction of its current size, Estrela was able to expand its influence with maritime advancements and trade. While traditionally the throne is inherited by the eldest son of the King, Malcolm took the throne when his uncle passed away without a proper heir. Because of this, his rulership has been the topic of many critics both inside of his country and out. Thus the King has tried to remain a neutral power in the conflicts of the world, and has order his children to follow suit while attending the school. ♡ Malcolm has three children with his wife Branwyne- two sons (heir- 16-18, and 15-17) and one daughter (14-16). The Queen had three brothers, one with children too young to attend the academy, one with two daughters (Gabriella, and 16-18), and one with one son (Galien) and one daughter (15-17). The King has one sister, and while two of her children are too young to attend the academy, her eldest son (Robert) is old enough. ♡ Estrela remains a neutral power on Arian and does not entangle itself with countless allies or enemies. ♡

♡ Brietan ♡
Ruled by Margrave Arminius Toustain
Located in the lower west of Arian, Brietan is a land of swamps and bogs. Located next to the ocean, brackish waters flow throughout the county. This collects in large lakes, rivers, and marshlands, creating the wet environment the country is known for. Canoes or Ferry Boats are much more common transportation wise than horses and carts, and in some more shallow sections, walkways have been elevated above the water, suspended from treetop to treetop. Many of Brietan’s cities were created artificially, with mountains of dirt and stone imported from the surrounding landscapes. While its cities tend to be on the smaller size, Breitan is not lacking in major cities. Among these, Rancaster is perhaps the best example. Founded on an island surrounded by deep fens, the city has only three exits accessible by foot. However, this seems to have no effects on the bustling town, and new people pass through its gates everyday. Further south, the town of Clouver is renown for its towering structures and is known through the country as the birthplace of one of the most famous and talented sculptures, Thomas Cul de Louf. Bresa is a drastic change in environment from the mainland of Brietan. Located on the lower half of an island off the coast, the city acts a major launching point for Brietan’s vessels, and acts as the training grounds for the country’s military and navy. The capital city of Xuonphia sits adjacent to the major lake shared by the countries of Mätte and Newvale. While the royal palace is a fair distance away, the city itself is a hub for all things art. From sculptures littering the streets, to mosaics in the center of town, to small murals painted on the sides of shops and businesses, there’s always something to catch your eye. However, Xuonphia wasn’t always so upbeat. Back when Brietan was still ruled by a King, the city acted as the central hub for the resistance, and many revolutionaries were found out and slaughter in the streets. The city itself was the location of one of the country’s most fatal massacres- a large, stone memorial for the event sits near the center of the town. The city was only recently named the capital, after the Margrave took power in a coup d'etat, but even so its sheer size and influence make it more important than any title could truly describe. In a country where alligator meat and egret eggs are considered the main cuisine, the people of Brietan are unexpectedly upbeat and cheery. While suffering from a revolution only a decade ago, the country itself was able to regrow and even flourish under new leadership. Valuing art, culture, and reason above all else, the citizens of Brietan are quick to spend money on portraits, send children of to study philosophy, and indulge themselves with tours of other, more exotic countries. While skills like carpentry, blacksmithing, and farming are still common- these artisans focus and practice the skill of crafting- making every piece a true show of their talent rather than something more practical. Because of this, Brietan-made exports are in high demand for more wealthy and important families, while other countries with less funding can easily see the people as frivolous and over-the-top. Children of nobility are expected to spend their whole lives studying logic, beauty, and sophistication, and those with exceptional talent are given more respect than children without. Nevertheless, Brietan families are unusually close, with both parents taking over the child-caring responsibilities. It would be seen as scandalous for a noble family to hire a nanny or nurse to take care of children for them, and a family gains value from the relationships between all of its members. Because of its love for culture, Brietan is known for its large celebrations and parades- especially the ones that are meant to honor the overthrowing of the old ruling class. These events range from days of feasting, to periods of silence in order to remember those who have fallen.
The King of whom Brietan was given was known for his laziness and incompetence. When he took power, he failed to realized the major differences in the swampland and the rest of the surrounding area. Because of this, his method of ruling was both lacklustre in parts and completely overbearing. He would spend half of his budget on growing his military power and policing, while refusing to give funding to the companies that guaranteed Brietan’s success. Because of this, many citizens found Brietan unlivable, and began leaving the country. This only making the King angrier, and he issued an order forbidding citizens from leaving the country unless approved by his counsel. This was the tipping point for many people, and thus the rebellion against the King finally grew to a national effort. The people found a leader in the young Margrave that used to govern over the country, and after persuading other military leaders to join his cause- they lead an assault on the palace itself. After dispatching the old King (few people know his exact fate), Brietan began a new era under the order of Arminius Toustain. While he has the support of most of his citizens decades after the revolution, many countries are still spiteful of how the margrave took power, especially since he chose to keep his old title rather than taking on the rank of ‘King’. ♡ The Margrave and his wife have two children, one son (14-16) and one daughter (too young to attend). Arminius has two brothers, one with children too young for the academy and one with three children: two sons (Audri and 18-20 twin) and one daughter (18-20 twin). ♡ Brietan is enemies with Mätte and Newvale. (alliances open? I don’t have anything really in mind rn. ♡

♡ Asmenia ♡
Ruled By Queen Reena Iola Alke and King Vasillios Ioannou Alke
Location/Geography: located to the south of Corovir and one of the coldest kingdoms around, Asmenia is situated in the middle of the mountains. Hardy pine forests dominate the lower valleys and cover most of the land. There are a few huge waterfalls that are at the base of the mountain ranges.
Major Resources/Exports: While Asmenia does have mines, gems and other minerals are not their main export. In fact, reindeer and bison ranching has played a huge part in Asmenia's economy in the past. Along the cost, fish and sea products are sold to neighboring countries that don't have access to the seas. Furs have also become increasingly popular and the demand for fur has led to trade between Asmenia and other kingdoms. Asmenia is also known for its metalwork and lumber.
Culture: Life tends to be simple for people living in Asmenia even for the nobles. Population in the mountains during the winter is sparse as the living conditions are harsh and the wild animals deadly. Many live in the valleys or open land where they own massive plots of land and farm reindeer. These people tend to have large families, ranging anywhere from three to ten. They live the simple life, raising and killing their own food. The mode of transportation is a large breed of draft horse native - affectionately dubbed the Zephyri or even the Sons of the West Winds in some regions- to Asmenia and because of this, citizens are very good on horseback. In the summer times, the cities are less populated as many of the wealthy have cottages out in the mountains or the forest area. The people are known to be as hardy as the pine trees and as fierce as wild animals. Citizens living in rural areas come into contact with predators almost every day and have learned to deal with them, while city dwellers are fierce, notorious businessmen/women. Asmenians as a whole are known for their sharp wit as well as their proficiency with bows and long range weapons. Religion plays a huge part in everyday life and while each pocket of the kingdom has it owns traditions and beliefs, the broadest and influential religion would be old Asmenian gods and goddesses. There are a few temples set around the kingdom, but the most notable is in the capital itself. Most people have large working dogs to shepherd their herds, but there are some smaller breeds in the cities. In fact, the royal family has two smaller dogs.
Unique Appearances: Asmenian people are known for their dark hair and light colored eyes. The sharp contrast of the dark hair and pale skin make them unnaturally beautiful. The nobles of Asmenian tend to have the blackest of black hair and yellow, feline eyes.
Capital City: Krysanthe. It is the most lavish city in Asmenia with a gold-covered palace nestled into the base of the mountainside. The sprawling city beneath sits just against a large lake. Architecture in large cities resembles ancient Greek buildings and the dialect in Krysanthe is more complex and mixed than remote regions. The Alke family has ruled from the golden tipped palace for hundreds of years.
♡ Asmenia has been a relatively peaceful country for most of its history with only a few instances and rumors of wars. Its people only wish to live their lives without fear of international politics and the Queen and King are happy to oblige. Ever since its conception, the country has been traditionally ruled by a Queen and her consort, the King. This stems back to the very first Queen of Asmenia. Legend has it that she was chosen by the gods to lead, blessed with eyes to see someones true intentions. Every Queen that has set on the throne has had the Alke's family unusual yellow eyes. Over time this legend has lost some of its grip on the people, but the tradition remains alive and well with the royal family striving to produce female heirs. Only once in their history has this system been in jeopardy and the country fell into a civil war before it was resolved with the birth of a female heir. ♡ The Queen and King have six children four daughters (Cali,17, 15, and 10) and two sons (Lyonell and 10). The youngest are fraternal twins and too young to attend the Academy. ♡ Asmenia is currently tentative allies with Corovir as they are a neutral party and the country strives to stay out of conflict. There are no enemies at the moment. ♡

♡ Dreisten ♡
Ruled by High King Nothri & High Queen Asa Mistmane
Dreisten consists mostly of tundra flatlands and low, jagged mountains. The landscape is cold year-round, at least by the standards of southern nations, though natives would of course consider the midsummer months (ranging ~60°F) quite warm. Despite its coastal geography, which would suggest that it is a seafaring kingdom, Dreisten has a very limited navy, mainly due to the fact that the sea near the coast is frozen throughout much of the year. Instead, Dreisten deals primarily in meats, furs, and livestock, and is known in particular for two creatures: the hardy sheep that provide Dreisten's superb wool, and the sled dogs that they use for transportation across the snowy tundra, and which are so dear to the people of Dreisten that most consider their dogs a member of their family. The people of Dreisten- called Dreisi- are primarily herding nomads who known to be hardy and strong, as well as able warriors. Due to the fact that it is in the open with few geographical defenses and no nearby allies, the entire shore and border of Dreisten is heavily protected. This, and the prevalence of predators in the mountains and tundra who will prey on travelers, ranches, and their herds, nearly every citizen, male or female, trains with some kind of weapon from a young age. This has lent to Dreisten's reputation as being a well-defended country despite having little navy or standing military. Physically, Dreisi are notable for their pale appearance, with light hair of blondes, light reds, and even white or silver, as well as very pale eyes and skin so light that it is sometimes pure white. The Dreisi look as though they came from the snow itself, something many foreigners find exotic and sometimes disconcerting.
♡ Dreisten makes a habit of keeping to themselves and remaining uninvolved in external wars and disputes. They are interested in preserving their trade and their borders, and what the rest of the continent does is the rest of the continent's problem. That said, in wars of morality they will sometimes lend support to the side the feel is right, but will usually not become directly involved in combat, not least in part because it is generally considered immoral for the nobility to force its citizens to fight a war that is not their own. That said, many Dreisi people choose to take up arms in the wars of other nations of their own accord. There has not been a direct war with another nation, nor has Dreisten become involved in any other disputes, in several hundred years. ♡ The royal Mistmane family has three children: Prince Calin (25) who graduated several years ago and is remembered as one of the best students to attend, Prince Brynnjar (19), who only began attending this year, and Princess ? (16), who has not yet begun attendance. ♡ Calais ♡
Ruled by Queen Hélène Nicollier & King Henri Nicollier
Of course, the northern coast is colder and rougher, but overall Calais has a more temperate climate. In the north they have a harsh winter and a cool summer, but no real spring or fall. The south has four seasons with a mild winter and a long harvest season, though the farms are cut out from the forest and to start one it requires a lot of work. There are a few mountains but none too tall, and large glacial boulders can be found in most places. The soil is overall gravelly, but farmers till in compost from the forest before planting season. Calais, being a country of trees, has knights trained in guerrilla warfare since anything else would not be useful. The military is organized and they dress in complicated clothes but engage in complicated combat instead of field wars. They know how to get through the terrain and know how to handle a horse through it as well. They use a lightweight saber for quick slashing since heavy armor and long swords would not work well in guerrilla warfare. Often settlements are forged into the forest and thrive on it with hunting and gathering with a large focus on archery. The capital in the south, Rheins, is the most built up city, much of the forest being cleared out there and there is more of a focus in swordplay than archery.

Despite this, the soil is rich and for anyone who is willing to brave the dry months, farming is quite profitable. The region is relatively flat, the 'hills' of the region just low slopes scatted around the country.
The country's residents primarily rely on farming and the export of the plants that are native to this island as a 'luxury' resource to the mainland. There are two major types of farms in the country, the coastal farms-that primarily focus on export crops, and the inland farms that have a primary focus on crops the feed the people. The exported goods are primarily grapes and wines, followed by different types of honey. The more minor exports include other fruits.
Eswain as a culture has a primary focus on religion, with all of the citizens following the same religion. The high priest(ess) has a political standing just below the king and queen and outranks most of the prince(ss) aside from the heir. Because of this, the country has two major 'capitals' one where the king and queen reside that is located just a few miles from the northern coast and where the high priest(ess) resides located near the large lake. Due to the amount of power the church has, it is customary for the younger children of nobility to train to be part of the church instead of training to take over the country.
The religion itself worships four gods and goddesses. Each of them ruling over a aspect of human life and happiness. The most powerful of the four is the Goddess of Health, Ryuna, who protects the citizens from unneeded misfortune. The God of Wisdom, Tinir almost matches her power equally. The two following are the siblings Chidlios-the God of Dreams-and Cumotl-the goddess of wealth. Their belief is that the four of them watch over all people to help them lead a fulfilling and happy life.
Eswain used to be many smaller countries battling it out for dominance upon that island. None of them cared for the mainland, and most would rather never interact with them. It wasn't until the country was split into two, did Eswain establish both a solid exportable good and contact with the rest of the continent. The two countries had stopped fighting for many years, each of them focused on growing relations with the other countries to really care about each other. It was less than 100 years ago when Eswain finally restarted the old war and swiftly took control of the entire island. ♡ King Ector and Queen Murie had many children, but due to unforeseen circumstances, only Princess Nicolaa is attending with 1 prince(ss) slated to come once they turn 14 (currently 13). They have, however, authorized the attendance of select Duke's and Duchess' children (total of 3, at least one male) to attend as well. ♡ Eswain tries to keep economic ties with each nation, however they keep their distance from militarized nations such as Matte, as they are weary of their power. They currently are working out an alliance with the other island nation to the north of them, D'raa.

Lady Eulalia Maison ♡ Edgewynne ♡ 20 ♡ year 4
Eulalia is lanky and ungainly, almost seeming to stumble wherever she walks. Long, curly red hair falls down around her waist, held in place by several golden combs. Her eyes are pale blue, and sparkle with a kind energy. Her skin is pale and smooth, but always slightly flush from her outdoor activities. Eulalia's attire consists of loose dresses with short sleeves, usually in shades of red or orange. She has an plain golden chain lain around her neck to match her combs, but is otherwise unadorned.
Eulalia is free-spirited and naturally charismatic, always seeking out a new adventure. She can't stand being cooped up for more than an hour on end, and tends to lose focus easily. However, she always has an almost palpable presence, and you can always tell when she enters a room. She keeps a bright outlook on life, sometimes even ignoring those things that might threaten her world view. Eulalia does have a way with words, though, and can sing incredibly as well.
Eulalia is the eldest of her siblings, and as such is the heir of Edgewynne. She struggles with this responsibility a lot, and often tries to run away from it rather than facing it head on. She's been taking lessons to help with this from her parents as well, and feels completely overwhelmed by it all. She's grown distant from her siblings because of this enhanced focus placed on her, and, with her graduation so soon, she feels the weight of her responsibilities more keenly than ever. ♡ -open- ♡ Eulalia owns her own horse in the stables, a grey dappled stallion named Quicksilver.
Prince Franque Guildersleeve ♡ Mätte ♡ 15 ♡ year 1
Franque is just starting to outgrow his childish features, and still appears to be very young. He's on the shorter side of the spectrum, and walks hesitantly, as if he's afraid one misstep might ruin him. His short bob of blonde hair is neatly kept and straight, hardly any strands falling stray. His eyes are a shade of dark green, opened wide to survey his surroundings. His skin is pale and smooth, the only blemishes on his hands and back. Franque usually wears an elegant tunic with pants beneath, and, although the color varies, it almost seems like he wears the same outfit every single day.
A sweet boy with a heart of gold, Franque is the stereotypical 'perfect child'. He almost never complains, even when upset, follows directions to a T, and always acts as a ray of sunshine to those around him. However, he feels burdened by this pretense, yet feels he has to keep it up all the same to fill a specific role in his family. He doesn't think he can do anything by himself or without being told, and will never break even the smallest of rules for fear of being a 'bad child'. He's a gentle soul, and would never hurt a fly if he had the option. As such, he's more trained in non-lethal combat and how to knock someone out rather than kill someone.
As one of the younger members of his family, Franque has always felt like he needed to escape his sibling's shadow. He thinks the academy is one way he can do this, and had his parents enlist him early so he could get a head start on his studies. So far, he fits in like a cog in a machine, but still feels like he should be doing something more. He has a rocky relationship with his father, and is much closer to his mother than him. ♡ -open- ♡ Franque's actually super good at horseshoes, a weird fact I had no idea where else to put.
Lord Audri Karles Toustain ♡ Brietan ♡ 17 ♡ year 2
Audri has a lean build of medium height, his arms the only part of his frame appearing muscular. His hair is closely cut to his skull, and is a shade of deep chestnut brown. His eyes are dark brown as well, and are set deep in his skull. His skin is noticeably pale, since he doesn't do much outdoors, preferring to stay locked up inside with his gadgets. He normally wears a loose shirt and pants with a black vest, and although the exact outfit may change, it's almost always prioritized for comfort rather than efficiency.
Audri is an intelligent tinkerer, preferring to mess around with his own gadgets rather than interact with other people. He's terrible in social situations, often stumbling over his words or making situations worse. He doesn't seem to realize this, though, and will always try speaking to people rather than closing himself off. He often tends to ramble on about technical terms for things without caring if the other person understands, then magically expecting them to once he's done. He's intelligent but not at all wise.
Audri grew up in his father's reclusive marsh mansion, and would rather be there than at the Academy. All his time went into forging and crafting small trinkets and gadgets, both for technical use and just to look pretty. He didn't even really want to go to the Academy, far preferring to stay at home and work on his own art and inventions. It was only at his father's insistence that he went, and he still focuses more on his independent work than actual classwork assigned. ♡ -- ♡ Audri mostly makes music boxes, which combine his love of art and music with his interest in inventions.
Prince Galien Briqueville ♡ Estrela ♡ 16 ♡ year 1
Slightly on the chubby side, Galien's rounded features give him the appearance of being much younger than he is. This is something he's relentlessly bothered by, and always tries to deny it when other point it out. It doesn't help that he's also shorter than most others his age. His flop of honey-colored hair falls messily around his eyes and ears, and almost never lies flat. It reaches down to his shoulders. His eyes are colored dark brown, yet always sparkle with a mischievous glint. His attire consists of a dark grey, gold-trimmed coat with long coattails, a pair of matching grey pants, and a pristine white shirt with a slight ruffle down the center.
Galien is a smooth-talking douchebag, always trying to push one thing or another. He consistently tries to get other students to believe the same things as he does, and will often try to 'convert' even unwilling classmates to his way of thinking. He's a liar and a cheat, but will always admit when he's caught. He's a hopeless flirt as well, pursuing both older and younger classmates in his search for 'true love', as he calls it. Galien often feels the need to quip, even at inopportune times. He can't keep his mouth shut, and always has something to say for those willing to listen.
Galien grew up used to getting his way, one way or another. He still expects other students to give him whatever he wants, and will often complain home to his parents about how hard school is treating him. He really doesn't mind being here though, and almost prefers it to living in Estrela. ♡ -- ♡ Probably has at least one 'sweetheart' at any given time, occasionally more.
Princess Hallkatla Ratcliff ♡ Corovir ♡ 18 ♡ year 3
Hallkatla's sharp features and porcelain skin give her an air of cold authority that perfectly suits her home country. She's tall with an average build, not particularly thin, but clearly taking care of herself. Her hair is a dark auburn color, closer to black than brown. It falls in neat waves to the center of her back, often tucked behind her ears. Her eyes are a piercing silver color, long-lashed and set beneath thin, pointed eyebrows. She typically wears a crimson gown with long, flowing sleeves and a silver embroidered chest. She couples this with a pair of long, silver earrings, a silver necklace, and a sheer red cape/shawl thrown over her shoulders.
Fierce and fiery, the Princess of Corovir resembles her mother in more than just appearance, Her stubborn nature shows through in everything she does, and she very rarely backs down from a challenge. She is much more the type to smack someone in the face rather than try and negotiate. Hallkatla is fiercely protective of those she cares about, and will do anything to keep them from harm.
Hallkatla is the eldest child of her immediate family, and is extremely protective of her younger siblings. Even her brother the Heir Apparent isn't free from her relentless concern. Hallkatla always felt like it was her job to take care of her family, especially as her mother was tending to her father in the late days of his illness. She always love fighting more than housekeeping, though, and would occasionally sneak out to go bear hunting with some of her non-noble friends. Despite her normally brazen nature, she always kept this a secret from her mother, not wanting to appear as a disappointment. ♡ -open- ♡ Hallkatla holds a strong disdain for marriages, as she views it as forcing two people into a lifelong commitment.

High Princess Calisto Iphigenia Alke ♡ Asmenia ♡ 20 ♡ 4th year
With her families characteristic yellow, feline like eyes, inky black hair, and pale skin, Calisto is striking in every sense of the word. She is of pure Asmenian descent and has a thick northern accent. She stands at a slightly below average height of 5'2", but her imposing presence makes her appear larger than she actually is physically. Cali carries herself in a manner befitting of royalty, her chin always slightly tilted up. She is lithe, but has womanly curves and toned muscles in all the right places. Palace life never gave her a chance to form callouses on her hands and almost every inch of her skin is silky smooth. The one area that is not this way is the back of her left thigh. There, a long jaded scar breaks the illusion of perfection. When she was young, she took a tumble off the back of her horse and fell unto a pile of branches. One of them snagged the back of her thigh and scarred it forever. High cheekbones mixed with rosy pink lips make her a very attractive woman indeed. However, the lines of her face hold a certain ruggedness that make her more of a wild, untamed beauty. Her nose is slightly broader toward the nostrils and her eyes have a delicate dip at the inner corner. She usually leaves her curly hair down, giving it the freedom to tumble down the full length of her back. While long, her hair is feather soft and black streaks frame her face. Occasionally, she will throw it up in a tight rose styled braid with wildflowers tucked in.
While in the palace, Cali almost exclusively wore dresses, looking and feeling the part of the perfect princess. However, her extravagant wardrobe took a hit when she came to the Academy as it was easier to do her work in less fabric. Every once in a while, one will still see her in full garb, but anymore, she has taken to wearing the scandalous pants and tunics of the people. She has found that when riding this attire is the best. Still, she would be rather step down from the throne before admit that she is more comfortable in the rather plain clothes.
Personality: Cali comes off as cold at first glance, but that is only because she was raised to veil her emotions for fear of someone using them against her. In actuality, she can be the life of the party if she wants and loves to joke around. Teasing others and flirting is one of her favorite pastimes. A heartbreaker, she has left a trail of bleeding hearts. Some may say that it makes her cruel and as a princess, she should herself to a higher standard. Yet, Cali doesn't bother herself with them. Quite often, she can be caught smiling and cracking a joke to a stranger if she feels comfortable enough. Still, it totally depends on the day, how much sleep she got, or even if she has been able to make a snarky comment during the day. Backbiting comments tend to make her happy. Is that wrong? Probably, but she doesn't care. She is sarcastic and witty and unusual sharp for her age. Still, she has learned to build walls around strangers and isn't the most open person. At least not with her feelings. This might be where the disregard for others feelings come into play. However, she is extremely loyal when one gets to know her and will be a friend for life if one simply lets her. Calisto doesn't tend to be overly emotional but is prone to fits of anger high-stress situations. Unfortunately, she bottles her emotions instead of herself to the point where these fits can be explosive. Cali is very goal-orientated and does her best work when someone gives her something to strive for. ♡ No romantic relationship currently. ♡ Cali brought her personal horse from the castle. She tends to ride on days that the stress of the Academy and her future role as Queen becomes too much. Watch out, because Effie, the princess's large black Zephyri, has been known to bite anyone she deems unworthy.
Prince Rhykaer Lovell ♡ Vawhil ♡ 16 ♡ 1st year
For a young man such as he, one would think that Rhy would still have a slight teenage lankiness and awkwardness. However, the prince seems years older, more mature than most his age. Standing at an impressive height of 6'2", he towers over his family and most assume him to be older than his siblings because of this. He is surprisingly lithe because of his height, but a fine layer of muscle covers every inch of sun-kissed skin. The dusty blond of his hair is slightly sun bleached on top, a testament to the considerable amount of time he spends outside under the blue skies of Vawhil. It is usually left unstyled which gives him more of an 'I just rolled out of bed' type of look, much to the dismay of his mother. His hands are the only indication of his inclination to be as active as possible. Years of sword training, riding, and other activities have put calluses all over his broad hands. Nose slightly bumped up in the middle and brown eyes soft around the edges, Rhy is more of an unconventional handsome. When he smiles, dimples pop up on his cheeks and the sharp point of his chin seems less severe. His wardrobe consists of the royal garments of his country and nothing more. While training, he tends to disregard the constant pressure on him to look presentable and proper at all times and will done more suitable clothing. He never leaves the dormitories without his pocket watch that he leaves tucked into a safe pocket.
Personality: Rhykaer is a relatively quiet person. He has been most of his life save for the months before the expectations started to grab hold of life. His parents started the two oldest sons in the deep traditions of Vawhil as soon as they talk, training them up to the be the perfect sons. While his brother received the brunt of the training as the firstborn, Rhy learned quickly to be seen and not heard, be present in body only. While they were never outright cruel, the weight of the countries various traditions and expectations crippled him for quite some time. Even now in the Academy, he fears that he will somehow disappoint everyone. Studious in nature, Rhy can often be seen with a book and a pen in his hand in the various courtyards of the Academy. He has never been one to go out of his way to make friends, but it perfectly capable of carrying on a deep and thoughtful discussion with anyone that approaches him. Well, have he gets his nerves out of course. He tends to be easygoing with very little that makes him completely distraught or angry. A peaceful soul that hates conflict and confrontation. However, he will step in if absolutely necessary. It might kill him to do so, but he could do it. Still, in the darkness of his room, Rhy struggles with anxiety and fear. Being active helps him combat this and he will usually be doing something out doors when it gets bad. In Vawhil, he would breed hunting dogs and take them for hunts or he would practice his swordsmanship. He even learned to take up painting (his favorite subjects are sunsets) though he has been told that the activity isn't exactly 'masculine'. He does it anyways because it is peaceful and Lord knows he needs some refuge from his daily life. Deep down, Rhy knows that he doesn't actually want to lead. He would much rather live a simple life with few worries and easy joys. ♡ No relationship currently. His relationships with his brother and siblings are good, but there is strain between him and his mother. ♡ In an effort to get away from the stresses of his life, Rhy came to the Academy. However, he couldn't make a complete break so he brought a few of his dogs and occasionally goes hunting with them in between classes.

Princess Oriana Guildersleeve ♡ Mätte ♡ 18 ♡ Fourth Year
Oriana is a striking young woman. She is tall and slender, standing at around 5’10 and weighing somewhere around 140 lbs, with an hourglass figure. She moves with a grace that was she was clearly not naturally born with, but rather that she learned over many years; her movements are very deliberate, calculated and chosen carefully. She has slightly tan, warm-toned skin and her hair is chestnut brown with some very slight reddish tones in direct sunlight. It falls to shoulder-blade height. Her almond-shaped eyes are a pretty hazel colour, and set in an oval-shaped face with high cheekbones. Her lips have a defined Cupid’s bow, with the top lip being slightly fuller than the bottom. Oriana has a port-wine stain which goes from the bridge of her nose to below the centre of her left eye in length, stretching from just below her eyes to her cheekbone in width. She is, overall, very beautiful and very distinctive-looking. She has no scars on her face or on any visible part of her body, but on parts of her body hidden by sleeves or clothing in general one is likely to find scars due to training as part of her upbringing in Mätte; she is a practised swordswoman. She speaks slowly, pronounces her words meticulously, and can present as a little unemotional when she isn’t angry. She seems intimidating. Her voice could be described as husky or having a smoky quality.
As for attire, Oriana pays great attention to how she chooses to dress. She wears dresses and is particularly fond of green, which brings out the green in her eyes and contrasts the slight red tone to her hair. She also enjoys purple tones, from plum to lavender, to make her eyes pop. She often chooses dresses with hints of gold to bring out the flecks of the colour in her eyes. Around her neck she wears a beautifully made necklace, gold with a large diamond and a big tear-drop shaped emerald. She also wears a delicate little brooch with her family crest upon it. You just do not want to cross Oriana. She is intelligent and witty, and very good with her words, but there is a bad side to this. She is rather hotheaded and so her sharp mind and ability with words gives her something of a scathing tongue when she’s angry. She is a decent swordswoman and can move nimbly because of her dance training, so you neither want to meet Oriana in a physical confrontation nor a verbal one. She is relatively reserved and cynical, seeking to protect herself and those close to her at whatever cost necessary. She is slow to trust, but once she does she will protect you with her life. She does not mince her words and is brutally honest, completely unafraid to give her views on a situation. However, one can rest easy knowing that Oriana will never lie to you, and if she spends time with you she probably likes you as a person. She would tell you without hesitation if she didn’t enjoy your company and she doesn’t tend to waste her time or words on people she doesn’t wish to. She is brave and is generally not reckless unless her anger takes over; if her hotheadedness takes over she is prone to acting rather rashly. A lot of people get the impression that she is fundamentally a bad person, but this is not accurate. One might call Oriana chaotic neutral, in that she does not aim to do bad but generally will do whatever it takes to meet her goals, whether this means acting outside of established rules or traditions or not. Because of this she has on occasion been known to be somewhat of a troublemaker. She is not easily manipulated either and is somewhat stubborn, sticking to her own views and ideals.
Oriana’s negative qualities tend to come from a place of fear socially. She builds up defensive walls because her father always taught her she had to be tough, and she isn’t great socially with people. She knows people’s attitudes to herself, her kingdom, and her father and so she doesn’t see much point in being sweet and nice with people or protecting those who she isn’t close to. She worries that people will judge her because of the militarism of her kingdom. She wishes to protect herself as much as possible. She is, however, very brave and will always care for those close to her.
Oriana grew up alongside her family in Mätte, and she grew up in great fear of her father. She learned the basic skills of the battlefield, though as a woman she is never expected to have to use them as long as her brothers are around. She’s pretty much just expected to marry some foreign prince, something which will perhaps keep the strained peace Mätte has with other countries a little more intact or patch things up with Newvale or Brietan. Oriana hates this expectation, disliking being used as a political pawn, but for the moment she agrees to it. She sees the necessity of this marriage, whomever it may be to, for the protection of her country. And the way she sees it, this would guarantee her a position as queen of another country if she married the right person. ♡ She is relatively close to her siblings. Oriana has a rivalry with Lady Gabriella Witchen of Estrela, and she is friendly with Imperial Prince Alaric Moyaux of Draekia. She considers herself pansexual, but is more attracted to masculinity and is more likely to enter into a relationship with males. She has no current romantic ties. ♡ N/A
Prince Robert 'Robin' Morismont ♡ Estrela ♡ 17 ♡ Third year
Robin is good looking, standing tall at around 5'11" and with a medium build. He's not huge and muscly, but he is not skinny or anything, though he is perhaps a little slimmer than average. He has olive skin and wavy dark brown hair. He's almost always smiling, though, and you wouldn't say he looks intimidating. He has a defined jaw and high cheekbones. He has a pretty average, straight nose apart from a slight bump on the bridge from when he broke it once. His eyes are deep grass green, with a lighter emerald ring around the pupil. He has a few freckles, but generally they aren't very prominent and only darken and become more visible in the summer when he spends time in the sun. He exudes a sense of confidence and mischievousness, almost as if he owns any room he finds himself in. His voice is warm and friendly, almost reminiscent of the crackling of a fire in its warm and relaxing qualities. He has perfected a winning smile and is often able to get himself out of almost any trouble he might find himself in with nothing but a flash of perfect white teeth. This may or may not be why he is smiling so often.
In terms of attire, Robin doesn't really have a particular style, he will simply wear whatever feels most comfortable to him. He likes to be active and be able to move around a lot, and so restrictive clothing of any kind is just really not his style at all. If he had to choose colours he preferred, it would probably have to be warm leathery browns or generally just earthy colours. If necessary he will be happy to wear colours to represent his country or his family, but in general he doesn't walk around the school in the colours of Estrela's flag or anything like that. The teenager wears a gold and carnelian signet ring on his finger with his coat of arms on it. It is the only piece of jewellery he wears, apart from maybe brooches or any pieces necessary for the clothing he wears. He does enjoy jewellery but tends to wear only practical pieces.
Robin is definitely a troublemaker. He is loud, fun-loving, and just a very entertaining person to be around. He has a quick wit and is just always causing trouble, seeing it as his personal mission to make the school more fun and annoy the stricter teaching staff relentlessly. He's very friendly and warm-hearted, but he can get his friends into considerable trouble with his endless shenanigans. He is outgoing, daring and sarcastic. He can sometimes be slightly vindictive or get carries away when it comes to those he truly loathes, but if that is the case he will always be the first to apologise, and generally if he really hates you it is for very good reason. He will always protect the innocent and is very forgiving of anyone who wrongs him. He is staunchly loyal and brave, and has a clear moral code; despite his prankster nature, beneath the (outward) moral ambiguity of the young man, is a real knowledge of what is right and wrong and a desire to always do the right thing if he can. He can be childish and immature, often being accused of not taking anything seriously, especially when it comes to his royal duties. He is sometimes thought of as assuming that his actions do not have consequences of not thinking ahead. In trying times he has the ability, with his excellent sense of humour, to diffuse tense situations or to otherwise simply help people to relax when they're stressed. He is the oldest of three siblings, and is very protective over his family. He can be seen as somewhat of a father figure (or perhaps a fun uncle) because he has a soft-spot for kids. He is quite aware of the feelings of others and will probably lie to protect the feelings of others, but only if it is a white lie. He will not withhold important information from anyone unless he feels they would not cope with knowing.
Robin's carefree (or irresponsible, depending upon how you look at it) attitude is due to his upbringing. His mother was strict and distant and tried to raise him to be a perfectly behaved prince, but Robin hated that and wished she would show more love and affection to him. The way his mother raised him was especially intense with Robin, more so than with his younger siblings because Robin was her eldest son. More than that, he knew that realistically he did not have any chance at a throne apart from through marriage, a concept on which he wasn't exactly keen, and therefore he didn't see the point in learning all of this courtly etiquette, leadership stuff and instead focussed upon other things. He is not well-liked by some of the more critical or traditional teachers of students, but in general in the school he is pretty popular. He was sent to the school by his mother to try to force him to actually learn all of the necessary royal skills she wants him to have. ♡ Robin is close with those members of his family (including extended family, like his cousins), who don't judge him or think him irresponsible. He is friendly with Imperial Prince Alaric Moyaux of Draekia and Princess Adelysia Guildersleeve of Mätte. He's straight, and isn't involved in any romantic relationships right not. ♡ Yeah, I just randomly chose a surname for him because I couldn't decide whether to hyphenate the name, or whether his mother would choose to keep the name Briqueville. Also he totally isn't like this because I was looking at some Harry Potter stuff and I wanted to make a character like Fred and George
Imperial Princess Junia Moyaux ♡ Draekia ♡ 20 ♡ Fourth year
Junia stands at about 5’6”, and she is curvy with an hourglass build. Her skin is a light caramel or honey brown, perhaps a little darker than that. Her eyes are upturned and slightly elongated, almost feline in their look, and they are a rich brown colour, though in the sun they may appear to be amber or golden. Her hair is inky black and thick, falling in gentle waves to her waist. All in all, she is a very pretty girl, with high, prominent cheekbones and a heart-shaped face with soft, full lips. She has a beauty spot just next to her lips, on the right side of her face. She seems to exude an aura of calm and security, with an easy smile and friendly gaze along with a smooth voice.
Junia tends to like to wear earthy colours, like olive or mossy greens, or else she enjoys a light sky-blue. She enjoys anything a little bit flowy, too, so seems to often be wearing long floaty dresses if she can. She wears a gold locket with her family crest on it and often likes to wear jewellery with jade or carnelian if she can get it.
Junia is a mentor and a mother-figure, especially to her younger siblings, even including those who aren’t much younger than her at all. She has a maternal, nurturing personality, and cares deeply about everyone. She has a very caring heart, even towards those she doesn’t like, and is very forgiving unless that person has harmed her siblings in any way. She enjoys more hands-on or creative skills like embroidery, gardening and cooking and she also likes to practice calligraphy and music (she plays the harp). She likes some of the skills she learns at the academy but she rather dislikes learning about statecraft or living in a court in general. She recognises that it’s necessary but she simply doesn’t enjoy it. She is wise and a good advisor, and is always willing to help anyone who needs it. She is seen as mature, and an old soul. She is generally quite a calm and optimistic person.
At times, as part of her motherly personality, she can be a bit of a worrier, especially when it comes to her siblings. She has been seen by some as a bit of a daydreamer, not taking life or her role seriously enough, and some who don’t share her optimism find it naive. She can be quite emotionally-centered and so this can lead to her feeling things rather deeply and being affected quite easily. God help you if you hurt one of her siblings, because to do so is to incur Junia’s wrath; this is the only time Junia is not calm. Junia is known for perhaps taking on too much in terms of other people’s burdens, often able to help other people but not realising that sometimes she damages herself. This caring heart she has can make her easily manipulated, again something she would be able to see in others and advise them on but perhaps something she cannot help herself with.
There’s not much to tell here; she grew up alongside her many siblings and half-siblings, and always did the best she could to help care for them ♡ Junia is very close with her family. She is also friends with Lady Gabriella Witchen of Estrela and Princess Adelysia Guildersleeve of Mätte. However, because Gabriella doesn't get on with Adelysia's sister Oriana, this can sometimes but Junia in a somewhat tricky position with the two families. She is single and is currently not in any romantic relationships ♡ N/A

Lady Aloe Maison ♡ Edgewynne ♡ 14 ♡ Year One
Aloe is a short and skinny girl, with silky dark red hair a little past her shoulders, and big, light green eyes. She's very pale, except for the spray of freckles across her nose, and has an almost-perfect smile. Her attire consists of pastel gowns with short- yet poofy- sleeves. (She loves dressing up, but after a while gets irritated by the itchiness.) She also likes to wear dark riding outfits, as they're usually comfortable. She doesn't like to wear jewelry or any accessories, as she feels they get in the way.
Although Aloe is named after a soothing item, Aloe is completely the opposite. She has a sharp mouth and a short temper. Oftentimes, she tries to control it and put on a fake appearance, but she easily gets frustrated with simple tasks, like calligraphy- her writing is a sloppy scrawl. Despite this, Aloe is rather smart and eloquent- which makes her frustration all the more painful. She is incredibly loyal and loves her friends and family. She's also nice to strangers, and willing to randomly help people. Finally, she's athletic and likes to paint.
Aloe had a rather happy childhood, and spent her days horseback riding, playing with her brother, and, most importantly, having lessons on manners. She's been excited to come to the academy, and used to go to Inggate during the term to just catch a glimpse of the school. Although, if she's being honest with herself, she's probably going to get in trouble a few times. ♡ - ♡ Aloe is insistent on bringing her cream pony, Pegasus (Peg), to the school.

Although, if she's being honest with herself, she's probably going to get in trouble a few times. ♡ - ♡ Aloe is insistent on bringing her cream pony, Pegasus (Peg), to the school.

Prince Brynnjar Mistmane ♡ Dreisten ♡ 19 ♡ first year
Brynnjar is not exactly what someone would expect as a warrior-prince of Dreisten, especially if they had met his elder brother Calin, the pinnacle of handsome and strong. No, Brynn is rather small, standing at about 5'7", with relatively narrow shoulders and delicate- though not unattractive- features. His musculature is not well-defined, and he could certainly be described as a little bit chubby, though the layer of fat does hide muscled well developed for movement rather than strength. He certainly takes after his mother with a willowy build, somewhat feminine hips, and high cheekbones. His hair falls to about the base of his shoulder blades, and is shaved around the sides and back, with the rest typically pulled into a ponytail, partially braided and decorated with bone-beads and feathers. It is pure white, except for a strip of very pale, platinum blonde from just above his right eye. His almond-shaped eyes, framed with strikingly black lashes, are also a bit odd, in that the left is a very pale blue like his mother's, while the right is a pale green like his father's. His skin is porcelain white, though his cheeks and shoulders are speckled with a spattering with faint grayish freckles. Most of Brynn's clothes are relatively simple, consisting of varying simple tunics and loose leggings, black leather boots that extend to just below his knee, and bracers made of either thin leather or layers of fabric. In warm weather, he will often add a hooded cape as well, of either black or dark red, which he will utilize to keep his fair skin out of direct sunlight. In colder weather, he will include a mantle of fur and feathers. Regardless of outfit, the most ornate piece of clothing is a braided leather belt he wears loosely around his waist, with a vast number of scarves, beaded cords, furs, animal tails, and braids hanging from the back like the ornate tail of some fantastic tropical bird. Each object tied to the belt has some kind of meaning to it.
Brynnjar is typically calm and reserved, observing others more than actually interacting with them. He tends to be cautious and soft-spoken, and when he does speak he tends to either use far too few words, or far too many. He is often metaphorical when speaking, and is often concise but in an indirect way. All in all, he can be a difficult and cagey person to get information from, and much less to understand. For the most part, he doesn't specifically intend to be aloof, but simply doesn't know how to speak to others very well. He can, at times, be very charming, usually once he figures out others' patterns of behavior. He is very logical-minded, usually piecing together other peoples' personalities and motives before he bothers to speak to them extensively. He always assumes an ulterior motive, and of course, with the politics that tend to bleed into every aspect of his life, this is typically true enough. As such, he is careful when dealing with others, always cautious of the social and political ramifications, and eternally careful not to give too much information. He finds it difficult to trust others, and even more difficult to relate to them, even if he does understand their motives. He also finds it difficult to make friends, as he tends to be unable to accept that sometimes kindness and friendliness is just that.
Brynnjar's childhood was fairly normal, at least for the nobility of Dreisten. He was taught the basics that he would need as an eventual king, though he never expected to become High King, as that role would go to his elder brother Calin. This relieved him somewhat, as he has never been particularly fond of leadership, preferring more to keep to himself and his own problems. He was given Agnar when he was 12 years old, and the dog quickly became his best friend, the two now being inseparable. At 15, he went to live with his uncle (on his father's side), Thialfi, in the north. This side of his family is non-royal, and so Brynnjar spent several years not as a prince, learning what life is like for the common people of his kingdom. Unlike his brother, who lived with this side of the family for only two years, Brynnjar stayed for four. Finally, he was convinced to return home so that he could have formal schooling for at least a couple of years before he was too old. He isn't particularly happy about it. ♡ Parents are Nothri and Asa Mistmane; elder brother is Calin, and has a younger sister. ♡ He is very attached to his wolfdog Agnar, who accompanies him everywhere.

Princess Nicolaa Ryunis ♡ Eswain ♡ 16 ♡ 1st Year
Princess Nicolaa stands at just a little under five and a half feet with a rather skinny build and very bony arms. Her face is long with her cheekbones rather pronounced, her lips full and her eyes are dark brown that are almond shaped with well trimmed eyebrows to top it all off. She has long dark brown hair to match her eyes that is always pulled back behind her head, braided up till it reaches the very back and then the rest being held up by pins adorned with gems in an elegant updo during formal occasions and falling to her back on less formal occasions. Something that is rather foreign to her is the differences between summer and winter dresses. In the summer she can wear a lightweight elegant dresses that mainly are cooler colors such as blues and purples with long sleeves that have three tie off points on her forearm which is the normal royal attire back home. During the winter she adopts a more heavy outfit, one that she does not care for, that falls all the way to her ankles with long sleeves that have no tie off points (a terrible decision if she had a say). These winter dresses come in similar colors to her summer dresses but are much darker with golden accents to offset the darker colors.
Nicolaa is a rather friendly girl, being very comfortable with striking up a conversation with just about anybody regardless of who they are. She rather fond of talking about the farms in her country, having seen them on multiple occasions through her life she has gotten quite good at rambling about them. She tends to ramble about anything that she finds enjoyable, though that list is still rather small as she really only knows about the religion that her country has. She has been using her academy life so far to explore other things she enjoys, so far she really enjoys music but she still doesn't know much about it. With this she is rather sensitive to how other's act, and normally if she gets a hint that someone is either distant or doesn't want her around, she typically leaves regardless of if was the other party's intention of doing so. Past being able to talk one on one with others, she doesn't like talking one on many, aka speaking at more than five people at once, aka public speaking. Her upbringing made it very hard to get out of her initial shell of not liking to speak to a lot of people at once, so she is rather poor at it.
Princess Nicolaa was the 5th born in the Ryunis family, from birth it was already slated for her to become the next High Priestess so when she was only 4 years old she was sent off the the church to start learning about the deities. She spent the first 10 years in silent study about the four and the land that they provided for the people, silent as in if she talked at all during that time, she would have to spend a week repenting in the lowest part of the church. She then spent the next 2 years learning rituals and how to perform them on citizen who requests one, traveling around with her mentor to the different cities so she could further learn the culture of the people. It wasn't until she was about three months from her sixteen birthday that she got the word that the majority of the royal family had been assassinated over the course of the last month and that she was the next heir to the throne. She was swiftly rushed to a small church in a small inland city along with her younger sibling, Grandmother and the current High Priest to discuss the next course of action. One thing was obvious, Nicolaa, if she took the throne at this time, would not be fit to rule as she had no experience outside of her cleric duties. Nicolaa was quietly enrolled at the Academy and many other nobles were pulled out of cleric duties to attend as well in an attempt to make sure there was someone who would be able to take care of the throne and to give Nicolaa a fitting King to rule with her. The Queen Mother and the High Preist took the throne behind the scenes, keeping even the citizens in the dark that their royal family was in shambles. ♡ Parents are King Ector and Queen Murie, (Brother/Sister), engaged to Lord ____ (one of a Duke's son) ♡ She has never seen snow, but she enjoys the cooler temperatures of the night so she tends to wonder the campus during that time.

Prince Kai Nicollier ♡ Calais ♡ 16 ♡ First Year
Kai's not the most masculine looking prince, and for fair reason, but not one anyone outside of the Calaisian royal family or court is aware of. Bring intersex, being born to the family he was happened to be a great luck as others would not take kindly to this--at least, not easily in Calais. And being raised the way he was, Kai doesn't have an issue with it, why would he? He's gained a look that attracts more men and women than expected and he has no issue playing hard to get. Kai has light blond hair that falls to the end of his shoulder blades, though it is often kept up in elaborate braids that match the fashion of the Calaisian court. He has blue eyes and a pretty face to match that of a woman's as well as a thin build. He stands around 5'8"but often increases it with heeled boots--another status symbol in Calais, but Kai is not allowed to wear certain heights until he turns 18. Being a noble, he wears clothes and regalia with many laces and buttons, the former usually crisscrossed down one side and tied at the end. His regalia is white, signifying he will be married off but his spouse has not been identified and therefore no country color has been chosen. If he marries within Calais, he will wear white and shades of royal blue with gold embellishments, and if he marries elsewhere he will wear that country's colors. Kai chooses to wear gold embellishments and lacings with his regalia and with his regular outfits--still complicated even though it's dailywear. Kai also wears jewelry with his regalia, as is custom for all genders in Calais.
Being the third child, Kai was never expected to stay in Calais--he was expected to marry a noble for an alliance. Therefore, he was raised to host, to please, to gain allegiances and unity. That being said, Kai knows how to play people. He knows how to cover his emotions and act, and he often uses it for his own satisfaction. Being Calaisian, he's a flirt and a tease, often courting people and danger he shouldn't be. Not that he has any intention of a relationship--he's only concerned with Prince Keagan of D'raa, as he has been for most of his life. The only main worry Kai has, since he usually presents himself as carefree and mischievous, is his ability to produce an heir; if he cannot, he will not be able to marry Keagan. And if he can, the rest of Calais will likely abandon him because of their child being born out of wedlock. It's a cruel fate designed by the Calaisian court in attempts to "salvage" his gender for marriage. Luckily for them, the King and Queen of D'raa like Kai and so does their eldest son. Unfortunately, this has created the only insecurity Kai has ever had about his gender and fathered his anxiety--an anxiety he hides. Kai was not raised to show weakness. He knows how to battle not only with weapon but with tongue, another ability gained from spending time in his country's court. He has no qualms about tearing someone to shreds either way if their intentions are malicious, especially towards Keagan.
Kai spends a lot of time training and has excelled with the saber as well as combat forms unique to D'raa. He considers himself Keagan's protector--they both have a secret, but Kai believes his betrothed's more damning than his own since Keagan is to rule. Kai is also very adept at archery, finding more time than his siblings to learn what he wanted. Besides, he couldn't only protect Keagan at close range, could he?
Kai was born and raised in Rheins, not old enough to have experience in the country's towns and villages. Since he is the third child, he was raised to marry, so knowledge of his own country hasn't been the top priority. Even though he is relatively young, he knows a lot about ruling, diplomacy, and politics because of his time in the Calaisian court and his yearly visits to his betrothed in D'raa. ♡ Tentative betrothal to Prince Keagan of D'raa that will only come to fruition if Kai can provide an heir. Remains a secret. ♡

Headmistress Lauren Ambrosia Courcelle ♡ -- ♡ 38 ♡ faculty
Lauren has a short, muscular build, her slight frame packed with strength. She strides confidently wherever she goes, and seems to exude a much larger aura than such a small woman could produce. Her hair is wavy and black, reaching just past her shoulders. Her hazel eyes are set beneath stern brows, always seeming to be concerned or peeved. Her skin is rough and light brown, having seen plenty of sun. As for attire, she usually wears a simple cream dress with a swooping neckline. She wears a shard of amethyst on a silver chain with small matching earrings.
A reserved woman growing in age, Lauren is wizened and has a keen eye. She has extremely good intuition, and can almost always tell when something's up with one of her students. Despite not being very good at explaining things, she always tries her best to assist students who need help. She has a lot of experience running the Academy, as she's done it most of her life. As such, she knows many things about the building and its history that others may not.
Lauren doesn't disclose much of her past. She's been Headmistress of the Academy for 10 years, and in that time has consistently pushed for the building to accept more students. She was the one who allowed 'secondary' royalty(nieces and nephews of rulers) to attend the school for the first time. She's since tried to open the school wider, but has received pushback due to the school's 'prestigious' standard. Lauren is still fairly vocal on the matter, but doesn't try to push it on the school any more. She's more of a hands-off teacher, preferring for students to learn through experiences rather than being told. ♡ -open- ♡ If you want to have a successor to the Headmistress, they'd be the Apprentice Headmistress/master. Go for it if you're interested! It'd certainly be a cool dynamic.
