Crowclaw smiles, scrunching up her nose a bit before turning back to the water "Well, I can always try fishing. Never been good at it but we all start somewhere." She nodded. While possibly one of the best Nightclan hunters, Crowclaw had always been so much better tackling land dwelling prey than tgose of the water. Fish were fast and slippery, if you didnt hook them right, they'd get away. The dark pelted warrior was going to take her chance though, standing for a moment and taking a few steps where she could find a shallow before idling in the water, waiting.

'Exciting' was the last word which came to his mind when the thought of hunting, and he was sure his expression showed just that at the moment. But Foxtail didn't say anything on the matter, just narrowing his eyes ever so slightly before huffing as he rose up to all four paws. Though he already hated it and would much rather be laying down. But he did appreciate being called one of the best hunters, which he supposed was somewhat true, but it did rather contradict what he was saying about his own hunting skills earlier. However, those had just been a bunch of lies. "Oh joy," he just muttered with complete sarcasm at the news of bringing along his own daughter, already starting to drag his paws forward, "Now I can be shown up by my own kit."
Fishing was not a skill he had much luck with himself. Not that Whisperwing could say he had luck with any sort of hunting, with a heavier build he usually walked quite loudly and ended up scaring away all of the prey before he got a chance to catch it. But he didn't say anything, just dipping his head as he padded away from the water as softly as he could, trying to get Crowclaw the best chances of catching something - which she wouldn't do with his reflection in the way. So, the mostly white warrior stepped back before sitting himself down calmly a little distance away as he watched the dark furred she-cat work.

(All characters have been added to the front page! Beewing, Whisperwing, and Stormpath are three candidates for deputy, so that should make for a fun dynamic in rp. :3 Twigpaw's mentor is Appleshine, Cedarpaw's mentor is Longstar, Maskedpaw's mentor is Whisperwing, Lilypaw's mentor is Stormpath, and Mothpaw's mentor is Beewing.)

Cedarpaw was still asleep, curled up in a lump of fur. He'd been tired still from the late hunting patrol the previous night, and he intended not to move. Even at the promise of the best prey, he'd ever tasted, or, at least that's what he was telling himself. The truth was still up in the air on that part, considering he also hadn't eaten since yesterday too. Longstar was content with the busy activity around camp; warriors were arranging patrols with each other in place of the absence of their deputy, the leader's dear old friend... But he felt free to take his apprentice out for some training, seeing as his Clan was more than pulling their weight. He poked his broad face into the apprentice's den, snorting quietly when he saw Cedarpaw sound asleep. He nudged him with a large paw. "It's too late to be lazing around in your den. You won't be able to sleep later tonight at this rate." He chided in a warm tone.

Cedarpaw didn't move much, only a slught shifting and grumble from the tom. He knew Longstar was right, yet her felt some need to defy the leader. Plus, again, he was still tired.
Crowclaw watched the water for a long time, waiting for a perfect moment. She had already failed a few swift strikes before then, however this time would be it. As she watched a silvery but dark shape come closer to her, perhaps curious of her paws and fur moving with the water, she struck. Her movement was swift and nimble, claws digging into the scales before she tossed the fish to land as quick as she could. The warrior rushed out of the water to quickly kill the fish rather than let it suffocate. She considered such a thing cruel.

>> He clearly hasn't met Foxtail, the laziest goddamn cat in existence <<
Lilypaw was just about to reach out to pluck and nice looking piece of kill from the pile when she heard pawsteps behind her, excitedly turning around to find her mentor coming over, and behind him, a father padding after him. Eating was already quickly forgotten, short boy brimming with excitement of doing some training. And even better that her father was going to be there as well. "Hunting? What are we hunting? Where are we going? Is anyone else coming?" The questions were fired off in rapid succession, her excited gaze never leaving Stormpath as she almost bounced on her paws, eager to get going.
'Try his hardest?' Foxtail just scoffed slightly, shaking his head as he slowly padded after the other warrior in search of his kit. He decided that he was just going to ignore that comment seeing as the only response he could think of was a rude one. So he kept his mouth shut, moving from behind the warriors den and out into camp to find that Stormpath had already found Lilypaw, and as usual, the eager apprentice was asking twenty questions. He really didn't pity Stormpath for having to put up with her. Though Foxtail didn't approach, just sitting himself down a short distance away while he waited for them to get moving again. Any chance to sit down he was going to take.
It took a couple of tries, but it wasn't too long before Crowclaw managed to hook a fish onto the bank. "I knew you weren't that terrible of a fisher," he meowed, standing up and padding a little closer, "If out positions were switched, I am sure I would still be sitting there with nothing. Or maybe I would have just fallen into the water by now." His tone was light, supposed to be amusing, though he couldn't help but shudder just a little at the thought of getting wet.

She looked to him "Ah I suppose so. Though there is probanly some warrior who'd have a stack by now. I've always been better with land prey though, so what can I say? One is a win." She laughed a bit, sitting down and cleaning off her paws. She didnt want the mud to dry after all. "So, whatcha doing out here anyways? Just needed some air or something?" She asked, looking to him for a moment before returning to her previous action.

He didn't seem phased by her questions, just purring at the eagerness. "Yes hunting, I want to go Lily pond to hunt. No, I don't believe other cats are coming with. It'll be just you, your father, and me." He flicked his tail to Foxtail, gesturing for him to move closer as he began to walk a bit more towards the entrance. "When we get there, I want you to show me your hunters crouch, I'd like to know if you've been practicing it all and how far you've come." He left the clearing of the camp in pursuit of Lily pond now. His mind was filled with different ways to hunt and how he might be able to help her out more.

Longstar's whiskers twitched in amusement for a moment before he grew serious. "I'll have you hunting all night if you don't get up, plus removing ticks from the elders the next morning." He meowed simply before pulling his head out from the den and sitting down to wait for Cedarpaw to join him, the large fluffy tom grooming his chest fur.

Whisperwing's ears twitched slightly in amusement, knowing all too well that Crowclaw was correct. "I wouldn't feel too bad about it," he did have to offer, "You are certainly still better than me in both those aspects." He did have to think that everyone was better than him when it came to hunting, it was something he had struggled with since he was an apprentice and something which had him worried about never being named a warrior. "I just wanted some quiet time away from camp," he admitted, coolly gazing out at the pond they were sat next to, "It's nice out here. Peaceful."
"My father is coming?" Her eyes lit up at the very thought of being able to show off to Foxtail and showing him how good she was getting. She knew that the loss of her mother had been hard on him, so maybe seeing her excel would help cheer him up? Lilypaw wanted nothing more than to make her father proud. "I've been practising so much! Every waking moment," she responded eagerly, bounding after Stormpath as he left camp, "I'm going to be the best hunter NightClan has ever seen. You'll see. I'm going to catch so many stupid toads."
Foxtail was only sitting for a moment before a flick of Stormpath's tail was gesturing for him to come along. The brown warrior sighed once again before heaving himself onto all four paws, pausing for just a moment to give his legs one last stretch before slowly trotting after the other two as they started to head off. Though he kept back just a little, silent as he listened in on the conversation. He didn't really want to interrupt, but he was curious to see how well Lilypaw was coming along with her training. While she might be a pawful, Foxtail had no doubts that she would be a great warrior someday.

"Until I came along" she laughed. Sure it was a bit self-deprecating in a way, though she wasn't sad or anything. Crowclaw felt that to laugh at somethings nad make jokes, she had to be comfortable making fun of herself too. It was simply a part of life. "It makes sense though, it's very nice out here."

{Stormpath} Stormpath listened to his apprentice go on about she was going to be the best hunter in the clan. It warmed his heart to know he had such a willing apprentice, was this the whole point of him having her? He shook his head and began to speak "It'll be a few moons before you can catch up to the rest of the cats" He paused, wondering how he could word the next part "but I have faith that you will surely pass us one day, just keep training like you are now. Keep the enthusiasm too, no matter what." He stopped when they reached the pond, turning to the two cats. "Alright Lilypaw, before I let you go off hunting show me your hunters crouch."
{Appleshine} She huffed when she saw no sign of Stormpath in camp, had he left without her knowing? She turned to go back to where she was sitting when she noticed Mothpaw staring up at her. She rolled her eyes and brushed past the apprentice, continuing on her way. "Appleshine!" Mothpaw whined, chasing after her "I want you to see my skills! I've been working very hard to become the best." She boasted, sticking her nose up in the air. "A cat with a big head gets no where in life." Appleshine responded lowly, making sure no cat could hear her. Mothpaw's ears went down and she tried to hide her sniffling. "I'm taking Twigpaw out, go do something with your own mentor." With that, she went in pursuit of her apprentice. {Mothpaw} She stood there for a few moments, trying to collect herself before she ran off to find Beewing, training always cheered her up!
{Hey video, it's not a big deal but you have Stormpath as Stormpaw under mentors and apprentices ^^; }

"I do not mind the company," Whisperwing informed the other warrior with a kind look and a dip of his head, "Just you is still better than being disturbed by the whole a camp." Not that he was really getting bothered all that much, but he would still rather take one cat over many of them. But speaking of the rest of camp he supposed he should think about returning soon. "It is nice out here," he agreed, turning his gaze to Crowclaw once again, "But I fear I cannot stay here and enjoy it for very long. I should return soon, no doubt Maskedpaw is looking for me."
Lilypaw already thought she was a much better hunter than the rest of the apprentices and she was willing to prove that at any moment, but she puffed her chest out at the praise coming from her mentor. The calico didn't see herself losing enthusiasm anytime soon, not until she proved herself as a good warrior and finally got her warrior name. Already she was wondering what name she was going to get and that was most of her thoughts as she trotted alongside Stormpath towards the pond, running forward when they neared right to the edge of the water, curiously peering into it. But she turned around again, already remembering that she was supposed to be showing off her crouch. Instantly the she-cat dropped, keeping her body low to the ground and staying perfectly still, "See!" She meowed rather proudly, not moving as she looked at her mentor, already expecting the praise to come.
Foxtail was still yawning as he picked up the rear, already dreaming about the lazing around he was going to do once he returned to camp. Maybe he could slip away when Stormpath wasn't looking, pretend that he had gone off to find prey somewhere else and just meet them back at camp. It was a possibility. But, when they reached the pond, the bushy tailed tom padded up to stand next to Stormpath, watching as Lilypaw showed off her crouch. "Your butt's too high," he just commented as he sat down, curling his tail over his paws.

Longstar let out a purr. “There’s a good boy.” He half-joked, standing up and giving Cedarpaw a nudge. “The ice has melted this morning. "Please don't" he sighed, the leaders offer was tempting enough though. Cedarpaw nodded to his mentor "All I can do is try I guess." He replied, still groggy as he began to walk towards the exit of the clan.

The mostly white tom couldn't help but incline his head a little as Crowclaw admitted her doubts about catching more. "You don't know that," he meowed a little in comfort, "You haven't even tried. But I do know that negativity isn't going to get you anywhere." But he didn't want to force the she-cat to do anything, just twitching his tail as he stood and padded after her back towards camp.
Lilypaw huffed at her father's words, glaring at him for just a moment. Weren't father's supposed to be supporting of their kits? But the young she-cat knew he was probably right anyway, trying to lower her back end closer to the ground in an attempt to try and perfect the crouch. Then her mentor was telling her to move forward, and not wanting to disappoint. the calico slowly started to inch towards the two cats watching her. All her on concentration was on being quiet, trying to keep herself light on her paws and careful not t step on anything loud, while also now thinking about keeping low.
Foxtail could rather tell Stormpath didn't like the commentary from the glare he had just been shot. "I was just saying," he meowed in a rather un-bothered tone lifting his front paw, licking it a couple of times before bringing it back over his ears to try and clean himself a little. Then he rest the paw back on the ground, blue eyes turning back to the apprentice as she did as she was told. "It's not perfect," he continued with his commentary, eyes flickering towards the gray warrior next to him, "but I don't think she's going to scare anything off, do you?"

Stormpath watched her carefully, making sure she would be fine out on her own. He gave her a curt nod and stood up, ignoring Foxtail. "Very good, Lilypaw. You are ready to go hunting on your own. I want you to catch prey today but if you come back without any don't worry, there's always next time." He softened up, trying to be a bit easier on her. It was almost like they had the opposite of parents. This must be how Mothpaw feels, I don't know if I envy her or pity her. "We will meet back here soon, I'll probably come by and watch you hunt." He turned his head to Foxtail, eyes narrowing. "I expect you to catch prey too, instead of sitting there." With that he left in pursuit of his own prey.

"One is better than nothing and I don't think any cat will complain about some fresh kill," Whisperwing agreed with a small dip of his head, already feeling a little bit guilty for not at least trying to catch something of his own. But it was too late for that now, instead, the warrior just padded next to Crowclaw as they headed back to camp, not really minding the slow pace they were trotting along at. It was just a little more time to enjoy the fresh air and not have to worry about Clan duties for awhile.
Lilypaw practically sprang back up as her mentor told her she was ready to hunt by herself, green eyes shining as she looked at her father. Foxtail had always been hard on her, pointing out her mistakes, but she knew it was just because he wanted what was best for her. "I'm going to catch so much prey we won't be able to carry it all back," the small cat was practically brimming with excitement before turning tail and bolting into the underbrush to try and find something. She was going to make Stormpath and her father so proud of her.
Foxtail did care about his daughter, how could he not? She was all she really had left, the only reminder of his mate, though Lilypaw was a striking resemblance to Dapplecloud and it sometimes hurt to look at her and only be reminded of his mate. The brown tom remained seated for a moment, watching as Lilypaw went bounding off before he heaved a sigh, rising to his four paws and trotting off. Maybe he would hunt, or he could just walk around and pretend he couldn't find anything. What would Stormpath know about it, anyway?

Stormpath was stalking along the edge of the pool with his mouth open, ears pricked. He was sure there would be prey around her. He knew he would probably hear the frog first, it was known for it's load cry. He heard one a bit away from him and he crouched down, stalking forward to it. It would be an easy catch for him, he could catch it and go check on his apprentice. Or Foxtail, what's his problem? Stormpath thought, almost forgetting what he was doing. He quickly snapped back to attention and jumped at the frog, killing it. He bowed his head then lifted it, carrying the frog a bit away so he could bury it. The prey seemed well enough so he was sure Lilypaw would be doing well, Foxtail too. He crouched back down, heading back to Lilypaw but in a way she wouldn't no so it wouldn't disturb her.

Crowclaw was quiet for a bit. Mainly she wanted to figure out what to say or start up a nice conversation about. She wasnt one for silence and disliled being alone with herself. "It's nice to not be freezing up anymore. Everythings growing back." She spoke up. Simply commenting in the new season.

Whisperwing really didn't mind walking in silence, quiet didn't bother the tom in the slightest and often he preferred it when there was no noise. But when Crowclaw spoke up again, commenting simply about the weather, the warrior did make a small noise of amusement before responding. Clearly, the she-cat was not the same. "It certainly does seem to be shaping up well," he agreed, gaze moving around for a moment to take in everything, "And it's good for the prey as well. Hopefully this will be a good hunting season." It was the least the Clan deserved after the cold months.
Lilypaw slowed down the further away she got, taking care to try and move quietly to not scare away any prey she might come across. Eventually she stopped completely, jaw parting and ears on the swivel to try and catch out something she might be able to catch. She crept around the edge of the pond, tail swaying slightly from side to side as she zeroed in on a croaking sound. Her gaze was quick to find what she was looking for, staying low to the ground as she inched closer. The apprentice stopped just a pawstep away, the frog having no idea she was even there. And then, Lilypaw sprung forward, kicking up leaves as she pounced right on top of the poor frog, using a paw to hook it and toss it sideways. The frog tried to catch it's balance again, trying to hop away, but the calico was too fast, pouncing again and killing it right where it sat with a quick bite. Feeling quite proud of herself, Lilypaw puffed out her chest, picking up her catch and trotting off to find somewhere to hide it for later.
Foxtail had gone and found himself what he thought to be a quiet spot out of the way under the shade of some trees. Hunting was at the back of his mind, confident that Stormpath and Lilypaw could catch enough without him. The tom was quick to sit himself down, unmoving and almost unblinking until he heard rustling and, out of one of the bushes, bolted a water vole. He could hardly believe it, blue gaze staring at the thing as it scurried right in front of him like he wasn't even there. Well, he had to catch it, didn't he? Foxtail barely had to go out of his way, easily catching the stupid thing with a paw as it scuffled right in front of him, quickly killing it without barely standing up. It wasn't the plan, but he supposed at least now Stormpath couldn't complain at him for not doing anything.

Plentiful prey always meant less worries for the Clan, less worries that cats may die of hunger. "I just hope this weather lasts," Whisperwing did have to comment, knowing all too well that things could change. It could get cold again, it could rain for days and days on end or it could just get hotter, drying everything up. "But I believe we will be fine and the Clan will continue to strive." It just had to.
Lilypaw scurried forward, carefully burying her kill under a tree, making sure to remember exactly where she had left it before turning tail and heading back into the brush. She desperately wanted to find something else, prove that she was a good hunter and prove that she could be a good warrior. She had said she would bring back so much prey that they couldn't carry it all, and the calico she-cat was determined to keep to her word. Though she did look around for a moment, wondering if Stormpath was watching her like he promised. If that was the case, well, then she needed to be on her best behaviour.
Just leaving the stupid vole where he had killed it, Foxtail let himself relax, eyes closing as he warmed himself for a moment. While he was almost convinced to stay put, he eventually did open his eyes, knowing that he should get back. So, the brown tom rose to his paws, bending to pick up his kill before trotting back towards the meeting place. However, on the way back, he bumped into Stormpath. "Where's Lilypaw?" He wondered, dropping his vole at his paws, wiping his tongue around his muzzle, "She caught anything yet?"

The young brown tom certainly proved to be one of the leader's more challenging apprentices. At Cedarpaw's age, Longstar hardly had a care in the world, only wanting to go out, train hard, and have fun. Yet his apprentice seemingly never so much as twitched his whiskers in amusement. "Fishing seems to be what you're especially good at so far, Cedarpaw. Is that what you enjoy doing?" He asked.
