"Oh, are you sure? Alright, I'll be going first, then." He stepped up to the counter, but any hope of hearing what he said was lost under the cacophony of sound in the café, from dishes to silverware to other people's conversations... Raven, quite a distance away from the other two, flinched at a particularly loud clatter. "There weren't this many people here earlier. I wonder why..." They scanned their surroundings for a moment, brows furrowed in thought.
After a minute or two of idly looking around, Raven decided to lean over from behind and lightly tap Reverie to get his attention.
"Hey, uh..." they began, voice hushed, but still audible over the noise from up close. "I hope Clive isn't bothering you too much. He acts pretty high and mighty, but I think he's actually kind of sensitive. Don't think it's your fault if he gets a little fidgety, like earlier, okay? It's just kind of... a thing he'll do sometimes. Don't worry about it, I guess I should say." They offered a subtle smile as reassurance, and patted them twice on the shoulder, before stepping back to where they were originally standing.
As if on cue, Clive then turned around with a smile, and gestured from a distance for the others to come up to the front. "I guess that's your signal. Go on ahead! I recommend the black tea, if you can't decide - though I don't know if that's really your taste."

Reverie shifted his weight from one foot to the other as the noise picked up, blinking slowly as if he were trying to process it all. The calm air of the cafe was still there, but all the extra sounds were adding some liveliness to it. He found himself focusing on a small, empty table by a window while waiting for Clive and letting his thoughts drift. He jumped when Raven tapped him, but quickly relaxed when he turned to see them. "Oh, oh, I'm sorry if I gave that off in any way - he isn't bothering me at all," He brought his hands up to his chest, fiddling with his own fingers as he spoke. "I admit he worried me earlier, but I. . . Just didn't want to upset him. . .," A few moments after he trailed off, however, he smiled at them. "Thank you for letting me know, though. . . I appreciate it!" He turned to see Clive waving to them both, smiling back at him as Raven spoke up again. He nodded to them while making his way over to the counter. "I may try it, but truthfully. . . I'll probably try and find one of the sweeter ones they have. Thank you, though!" He split off from the group to make his order; something flowery and warm that settled his nerves. Cradling the cup in hand, he turned to the others with an almost uncertain look on his face. "Uhm, if you two wanted to still walk around, it's up to you where we go. . . I don't really know much about it here or what there is to see, so you're welcome to lead the way!"

"Oh, no, it's really alright. You didn't do anything wrong, I just felt like I should tell you..." They tipped their head and gave an unreadable, but still friendly expression. "Just so you know, right?"
Raven watched from a distance as Reverie stepped up to the counter and ordered something off the menu, unable to overhear what he asked. They sighed and crossed their arms, leaning on a wall off to the side of the cafe, avoiding the line of sight of other people. They seemed a little preoccupied by their own thoughts for a moment, not even hearing the sound of someone approaching them. "You alright?" Clive stood a few steps back, holding a cup of Earl Grey in one hand, and a saucer in the other. Raven looked up, a little taken aback. "Me?" "Who else would I be talking to?" "I'm fine. Just distracted. What did you get?" A worried look crossed his face for a moment. "...The usual. I never get anything else... You know that. Are you sure you're okay?" Raven blinked in surprise, staring blankly down at the small, embellished teacup. They said nothing.
Reverie walking back over to the group quickly - and thankfully - changed the topic, and they turned their attention towards him as he spoke. "I wouldn't mind walking somewhere. We could go down to the Thames after this, if you'd like. I found a table over by the window over there." They pointed off to the other side of the room - and sure enough, there was a table for three by the window, out of the way and in a spot not as crowded as the rest of the cafe. There was a trace of a smile on their face, as if they were proud of themselves for finding it.

Reverie squinted in the few beats of silence, the briefest hint of a worried look crossing his features. He supposed any tension in the air may have just been his imagination - he always did seem to fuss over those things.
"That would be nice!" He finally responded, bringing the cup up to take a sip. "And, oh, lucky spot - it's always nice to sit by a window. . . You get to look out and watch the scenery!" While he didn't voice it, he also couldn't help but feel thankful their spot was in a quieter part of the cafe. "How. . . Do we get there, though?" He looked between them both. "What's the walk there like?" He seemed to realize something as he asked the question, eyes widening a second before he spoke up again. "Oh, no, it's not a long walk, is it? I know it's late, and I don't want to make you two stay out too late. . .," He held the teacup up to his face, although it seemed to be more for comfort than to actually drink the tea. "Just let me know if you guys have to head home, alright?" He gave a little smile. "I'm alright to stay out as long as you two like, though!"

Raven pulled out a chair and sat down. "I don't think it's far from here. Not far at all, I think - maybe a half mile from here?" They glanced over to Clive, expecting him to chime in, but he was already looking out the window and didn't seem to notice... or maybe just didn't say anything. Their shoulders slumped in chagrin. "Well, I don't think we're going to be out too late. It's still early in the afternoon, I mean." They crossed their arms and sunk into their seat, turning their attention towards Reverie. "Thank you, though. I'll tell you when we have to start heading home."

Reverie tilted his head as Raven explained more about their walk. The beat of silence as they looked to Clive, heavy and almost palpably distressed, left him shifting in his seat and struggling to think of anything to say. "A half mile isn't too bad," he finally piped up. "And it'll be nice to see everything along the way. . .," As he trailed off, however, he could feel the approaching lull of the conversation. Something was in the air - something just on the tip of his tongue. He figured it rude to ask (almost?) strangers about what might be bothering them, but there was still something he couldn't quite put out of his mind. Grasping for words like straws, he floundered for something to finally say. "So, uh, what all do you two want to do once we reach the Thames?" He took another drink before adding on, "And oh, thank you for letting me know!"

Raven nodded, silently acknowledging Reverie's input. Their thoughts continued to drift during quiet pauses, staring down towards the table at the two drinks placed there. It looked almost as if they were completely spaced-out, but it was clear they were still listening - they simply had nothing more to add. They didn't want to burden someone they just met with their personal issues, but Raven lived in their own strange little world, simultaneously wearing their heart on their sleeve yet refusing to say why. "There's not much to do, exactly," they finally replied. They leaned their elbow on the table, and their head in their hand. "It's more of a scenic thing than a real activity. I just thought we could walk for a bit and then maybe head home, unless either of you think of something better to do." They looked almost accusingly towards Clive again, who seemed to be back to paying attention now. "Huh? Oh, sure. That sounds nice." He smiled gently, trying to lighten the mood somewhat. "You seem kind of tired, though. So I agree, we shouldn't be out too late." So he was listening after all... Raven didn't know how to respond. They wanted to be irritated, but couldn't seem to bring themselves to be... Thankfully, they didn't need to say anything, as a faint sound from outside suddenly caught their attention instead. They picked their chin up out of their palm in surprise and glanced out the window. "Hey, I think it's starting to rain." Raven pointed out towards the street next to them, and sure enough, rain was beginning to fall outside. However, their face quickly went from enthralled to disappointed after a small realization. "...I didn't bring an umbrella or anything..." "...Hmm." Clive frowned and quietly set down his cup. "Well, that's not good for our plans at all, is it?"

While he was content to let his gaze wander, Reverie found himself stealing a few extra worried glances in Raven's direction as time went on. He took another wary drink of tea, figuring himself a little out of his depth in trying to navigate the feelings of two new friends. They would figure it out, or at least, he hoped so. He sighed, relieved to be back in the familiar conversation. "That sounds really nice, actually!" He curled both hands around the edges of the teacup as he spoke. "I bet it'll be relaxing - taking a walk like that in pretty places always is." Clive's comment, however, added another worried crease to his expression. "Tired. . .? Oh. . . I hope once you get home, you're able to rest and that you feel better soon." He followed Raven's surprised glance to the window, eyes widening as he watched raindrops splash onto the streets. While he was not familiar with the weather there, he knew how a drizzle could phase into a downpour without much warning. Not to mention the possibility of thunder rolling in. "You're right," he finally added quietly. "I don't know how long a rainy day lasts here, but we could all try and wait this out in here, if you two like?" He looked between the both of them curiously, head tilted. "You're, uhm, welcome to head home once it clears up if you need, though - it'd be terrible if either of you caught a cold." He did his best to mask his disappointment at the prospect of missing out on their walk, but he couldn't put either of them in unkindly weather for the sake of it. Plus, the cafe was comfortable, and he was starting to find it soothing to watch the rain from the little window.

Raven scowled. Not voluntarily, yet also not directed at anyone in particular. "I don't think I'm tired. I'm just a bit distracted. That's all." They repeated their earlier words bluntly, and crossed their arms in front of them. Clive gave them a troubled, almost stricken look from across the table. He didn't want to drag anyone else into this matter, let alone Reverie, of whom he'd only said a few words to so far - but he couldn't just say nothing, either. "Well," he began quietly, "he has a point, even still. You can take all the time you need later, okay?" He offered a sympathetic smile, before returning his gaze down into his teacup.
"We could try to wait the rain out, but chances are the cafe will close before it's over with..." Raven hummed in thought for a moment, going over all the options in their head. "I think it would actually be a better idea to go out and brave it now, while it's still a drizzle, before it takes a turn for the worse." They took another glance out the window, off into the far distance of the horizon. "But we'd have to either get an umbrella somewhere, or just go straight home..." They sighed, and looked over to Reverie, sitting across from them. "You're welcome to come with us and stay a while in the latter case, if you'd like. It's fairly close, and I wouldn't want to just leave you out here."

Tapping his fingers just to expel some nervous energy, Reverie looked between the two of them with the smallest glimmer of panic in his expression. He worried he may have stumbled onto an unspoken nerve; or at least agitated an already fairly fragile situation. He smiled apologetically to both of them, silently breathing out his relief once Raven shifted the topic again. "That's true," he agreed as he let his attention drift to the soft pitter-patter sound of the rain outside. He hummed apologetically in regards to their umbrella predicament; that was always an unpleasant situation to be in. At their suggestion, however, he turned to them with an awe-struck expression and nearly froze. He snuck a worried look in Clive's direction, trying to gauge his reaction before answering. "O-Oh! That's. . . That's genuinely very kind of you," he said a little too quietly. "I really wouldn't want to be a bother or anything, though, so only if it really is alright. . .," As he trailed off again he let a small silence hang in the air before rediscovering his voice. "I'd be alright, though, but I do appreciate you!" He smiled at them, eyes crinkling at the corners. "I can manage in the rain, so it wouldn't be any trouble at all. I'd still be happy to join you two, though, and I'm sure you've got a very nice home."

"I really don't mind, I promise. We're still going to have to brave the rain, but not for very long. Like I said, it isn't far from here." Raven nodded, committing their promise to memory, and turned away their attention for a moment. "Unless you have any issue with it, do you mind that change of plans?" Clive looked a little apprehensive for a brief second. Not due to having a quirky stranger in his house - he's gotten used to that by now - he just really, truly hated getting caught in the rain. Regardless, he hid his distaste and agreed. "I don't see why not," he added. "Let's just try to make it quick, for everyone's sake. Shall we?" He picked up his messenger bag from the chair and stood up, motioning to the door with his free hand. Raven followed suit, getting up and stretching their shoulders as they put their coat back on.
"Well, alright then. Just follow us and you'll be fine." They almost cracked a smile as they started to make their way to the cafe's exit. ((ooc: i wrote precisely half of this in the middle of the night while half passing out so i hope this is comprehensible. Anyway oooo location changing

Reverie seemed almost speechless for a moment, but quickly flashed a bright smile at them both. "The rain is no problem at all," He made a vague gesture to the plants on his head, as if he weren't in the company of a normal person, "it might even be good!" At the last bit they tacked on, though, he gave a friendly shake of his head. "I don't mind at all - truthfully, I'm just glad to have met some kind people in a new place." He turned to Clive as he stood, nodding along and offering a reassuring smile. "I'll do my best to keep up with you two," he said while quietly pushing in the chair he'd been using. "That way we aren't stuck in the rain any longer than we need to be!" He trailed along after them towards the exit, standing on the tips of his toes and peering over their shoulders to see the drizzle outside. A small part of him lamented the fact he was almost a fish out of water in their world; unable to fiddle with their predicament and urge it into a much more comfortable dream. Oh well, he thought with the smallest trace of a sigh. It'll be alright.

Wait, what?
Wait...
What?
Those sprouts aren't just stuck in his hair? I thought they were just stray leaves tangled in his hair. Are they attached to it? Or are all of those sprouts growing out of his head? Where do the nutrients come from? If it gets cold, what happens to the sprouts? Do they have to be watered? Is that just what a shower is? What about getting soap in them? What happens if you pull them out? Do they have roots? Do they have nerves? Oh, God, do they have nerves??? They're still talking like he didn't even say anything out of the ordinary? Why do I keep meeting people like this??? What did I do to deserve this twisted fate??? Is anyone else seeing this but me???
"Everything good over there? We're going to head out soon." Raven glanced over to Clive with a concerned look on their face. He was sitting across from them, smiling blankly as he stared off into the middle distance. The hand that held his teacup was trembling violently, just daring to spill it. "Yep, I'm completely fine!" He gave them a grin. He was sweating profusely. "Never better, actually! Don't even worry about it!" He laughed. It was pained.
Raven stood under the awning of the cafe, holding a hand out underneath the mist. "Oh, this isn't bad at all, actually." Their expression lightened a bit, clearly not at all minding the weather. "We should have plenty of time to get there." They stepped out and looked up at the overcast sky, the dim light reflecting in their eyes. Clive quietly followed, much less eager to run out into the rain, but he seemed to be dealing with it just fine. Raven blinked, getting them out of their thoughts, and they looked back towards Reverie. "You okay? I realize we're somewhat dragging you around." They pointed to their left. "We just have to leave this intersection and get back to the main street, and then it's just north of here. Is that fine with you?"

At Clive's stricken expression, Reverie found himself scrambling to figure out just what may have sent him into such a state. Had he said something to upset him? Was it the walk through the gloomy weather getting to him? He turned to Raven with a subtly bewildered look, only to try and hide it as they checked on their friend. Huh, he thought with a sneaky glance in Clive's direction, I guess he just really doesn't like rain.
Although he was still a little shaken, Reverie breathed out a sigh of relief at the gentle pace of the rain. It felt more like a dewy morning than an oncoming rainstorm. He followed Raven's gaze up to the darkening clouds, soft puffs of gray stretching along the sky. He could understand enjoying that kind of weather - there was something quiet and comfortable about the calm before a storm, so to speak. He blinked in surprise when they spoke up, but quickly smiled back at them. "Oh, please don't worry, I'm alright! You aren't dragging me along at all," he seemed a little sheepish as he went on, "In fact, I think I'd probably have gotten lost on the way if I wasn't following you all." He made an attempt to look out across the street alongside the directions they gave, but he had no luck in figuring things out perfectly. "Yes!" He finally chirped back in response. "Even if a short one, a little walk will be nice, and I'll get to see more of the city!"

"Alright, well... if you're sure." Raven took a deep sigh and walked out of the small intersection, quickly glancing behind them to make sure everyone was following. Upon reaching the main street, they looked around at their surroundings, almost a little surprised. "Nobody's really out here. I guess everyone went home to avoid the rain already," Clive noted. He quickened his pace and passed both of them to get a better look. Sure enough, it was completely quiet, the only sound of the street being the light rain around them. "I don't think I've ever seen this place so empty during the day..." They stared blankly towards nothing in particular, letting their thoughts wander for a second before shaking their head. "Well, no reason for standing around. Let's get going." They turned behind them and motioned forward with their hand.

Reverie followed along quietly as the group made their way from the intersection. He trailed after Raven's gaze as they surveyed the area, nearly jumping in surprise when Clive spoke up in the quiet of the rain. "Oh. . . Is it normally very busy here?" He asked with another small look around. It seemed serene - nothing but the three of them and delicate raindrops filling up the vacancy caused by the weather. He tried his best to picture bustling families and people rushing by along the sidewalks, mulling it over how strange it might be to see that all gone in such a normally bright time of day. At Raven's words, he hummed in contented acknowledgement and began after them in a leisurely pace. Walking gave him time to think; which in turn gave him time to worry over whether or not it really was alright to be invited into their home so quickly. A part of him, deep down, thought he should have politely declined. But, a much louder and friendlier part decided he should go along. The both of them seemed incredibly kind, and he could never deny the thrum of curiosity he felt at getting to know them each and seeing their home.

At Reverie's question, Clive suddenly glanced behind him, a little surprised. "You're not from around here either, are you?" he asked, almost rhetorically, as he brushed aside his hair. "Anyone who lives in London knows how crowded it can get around here sometimes. Raven isn't — or wasn't — from here either, at first." He smiled, before holding a hand up to suppress a chuckle. "Though from the way the both of you talk, it's fairly obvious." "Ha ha ha." Raven replied sarcastically. "Very funny. Gets funnier every time. Really." Suddenly, it was evident how differently they spoke compared to everyone else around... They jokingly pushed him aside as they turned a corner. "Whatever. It's this way. You still with me?"

Reverie hesitated, then gave him an incredibly sheepish look. It had not even occurred to him - blurriness and strange features aside - just how out of place he must have seemed. "I guess you're right that it's obvious," he said while nervously scuffing the ground with his boot. "I've really only been here, uhm, a day - maybe even less. . .," As he trailed off he seemed almost misty-eyed. "I'll only be here for the rest of this one, too, probably." He seemed as if there was more he wanted to say, but quickly thought the better of it and ended his thoughts there. He smiled at the two of them as they playfully bickered back and forth. It was nice to settle quietly and listen; just taking in the conversation around him and the company he was with. Even in the short time he had known the two of them, he had already began to take comfort in their presences. In the back of his mind Reverie wondered if he might ever see them again once his wandering took him elsewhere. "Hm?" He murmured at Raven's words, seemingly lost in thought again. He blinked - a subtle action if only to clear his head. "Oh, yes! Don't worry - right behind you!"

Clive blinked, his expression changing from surprise to almost disappointment. "Really?" Not that he didn't believe him - he just had nothing else to say. "I didn't know you were just passing through... That's unfortunate. I do wish you had visited on a nicer day than this one." He frowned sympathetically and crossed his arms in front of him. Raven shot a concerned glance over to the both of them, as if wanting to add something, but ended up not saying anything at all. "...It really is a shame that your stay here is so short," they eventually commented in a moment of silence. "I feel like we only just got to know each other. But, I understand." They gave a telling look towards Reverie. "People come and go. I hope you can visit again sometime." Clive looked a little perplexed for a moment. He had only been here for a few hours, yet Raven seemed to be close friends with him... They had lived here for months now and didn't want to talk to anybody before this. How could this be? "Ah," Raven suddenly interrupted. They pointed at a rather quaint apartment building down and across the street from them. "There it is. I told you it wasn't far." They turned around and smiled subtly.

Reverie smiled at him almost sadly. "It is, I admit. . . I've started to like it here a lot. But, it's better to be glad I saw it this little time than feel badly over leaving!" He blinked up at the sky at Clive's comment, simply shaking his head good-naturedly. "I think today is just as nice as any! Besides, uhm, if I'd come here another time, I may not have bumped into either of you two!" He flashed him a grin, eyes crinkling at the corners. "Things just have a way of working out in a way you might never expect, I suppose." As Raven spoke up, he turned and gave them a grateful, albeit forlorn look. "We did, but I'm thankful we got the chance to, all things considered!" He seemed to mull something over for a bit before tilting his head at the both of them. "I'm sure I'll see you again! Just, uhm, well - " He stopped short and hummed instead of finishing his sentence. He knew very well he would hopefully be visiting them both in a dream some time (although, he worried about frightening poor Clive), but he realized it might be a strange thing to say in front of someone unaware of who (or what) he was. He settled with giving Raven a look he hoped conveyed his thoughts. "Oh!" He cried excitedly, squinting in the distance at the friendly looking apartments ahead. "I hadn't expected us to get here so quickly, you really did mean it when you said it wasn't far. I'm excited to see, it already looks so nice, you two."

Clive gave him a subtle, almost wistful smile in response. "I suppose you're right. Maybe I'm just too cynical," he remarked as he turned away. He stared down at the rainy streets as he spoke. "Being in the right place at the right time... that really is a rare thing, isn't it? I've thought about it far too much, I believe." Raven blinked, saying nothing for a brief moment. They let Reverie continue as they listened intently, their almost concerned expression remaining. "Oh, for sure," they finally replied. They caught on to his cue and nodded, as if to say they understood. "Don't worry, I'll keep an eye out for you. Just be careful, if you can." They returned his gentle head tilt with one of their own to lighten the mood.
Raven fiddled with the keychains in their pocket for a moment, before pulling them out and inspecting them. "Nothing around here is ever really that far away," they said as they picked out a shiny silver key, one that looked almost new. "It's all very convenient, I guess." They put the key into the doorknob and turned it, clicking it into place as the door quietly opened. "There we are. Second floor, door on the left. We don't have any neighbors in this building, so feel free to do whatever." "Well, er, maybe not... whatever... It's still my house, after all..."

Reverie took a small, quiet moment to watch his expression. There was something there he couldn't quite figure out. He finally smiled at him, sympathetic and bright. "I wouldn't say that, you just look at the world a little differently, is all." Reverie let out a barely there laugh to himself as he went on. "You're right, though! Being rare makes it so much more amazing when something like that happens, though, or at least - I feel that way myself." Almost sheepishly, he turned and cast his gaze somewhere unseen in the distance. "Forgive me for, uhm, sounding a little silly, but there really are all sorts of little silver linings out there. . . We might be stuck in the rain now, but I bet you tomorrow the plants will look a whole lot greener!" He smiled at Raven, blowing out a little puff of breath in relief at their understanding. "Thank you - I appreciate you being so kind," he said with a happy lilt in his voice. "And - oh! I will, but you all be careful too, okay?"
Reverie, barely able to contain his excitement, was shifting from foot to foot as he stood beside them at the door. Shy as he still felt, there was something so thrilling about meeting new friends and being invited over! He made a soft hmm? sound as Raven spoke, watching them fiddle with the keys and imagining what it must be like to live with so many places so close. "Oh, uhm - " He floundered for words after Clive replied, looking a little more than flustered. "I wouldn't dream of doing anything unkind, if that helps. . . I, ah, if you have any 'house rules', too, I'm always happy to follow them." He looked between the two of them nervously and fumbled with his hands. "I really don't want to be impolite, so just let me know what is or isn't okay if you like, alright?"

It was, unfortunately, a short visit. The magic and the focus holding Reverie's already fuzzy form in both Clive and Raven's waking world was dwindling, and each new moment he found himself growing less and less visible, solid, and awake by the second. He was pushing his luck staying as long as he was. He bid them farewell with a heavy heart and a promise to visit again, leaving behind nothing but a sliver of stardust and trail of flower petals behind him. ---------------------------------------------- skip ---------------------------------------------- Ah, Reverie thought as the soft, colorful light of his eyes brushed over the sights around him. He took a step forward, his front paw swirling stardust like water, and breathed in the feeling of the sky all around. It was evening somewhere, he knew, because the world he considered his own was alive with dreams. He began at a leisurely pace, a path of stars forming both behind and in front of him, so quickly and so easily one might think they were old friends. He wasn't quite sure where he was going - truthfully, he might have been walking just to walk - but he was well aware of the task at hand. He blinked and let his gaze wander once again; the bright colors and glimmering starlight a sight so comforting and familiar he felt his heart swell. While the dream he made was his home, there was something about the place between his travels that would never cease to fill him with wonder. A starry sigh, a delicate whirl of petals, and the fading of a being into nothing but the night sky around him, and Reverie found himself standing in a place holding the unmistakable feeling of a dream. It was soft - all of them were -, safe, and he was always so much more real than he was in his few moments within the waking world. He took a moment to sit and watch the scenery around him. Whoever's dream it was seemed to be in no need of help, or in any sort of obvious distress, but still. . . Something seemed to be holding him there. . . As if he were waiting to meet an old friend, perhaps? ooc: AHHH AHH AHHHH iam so sorry if this is silly i jsut really wanted to revive the thread truthfullys... but it's up to you what happenbs next ! it can be raven or clove or anyone you wana write i jus thought maybe this could start us up again.. also it's up to you how much time has passed..

After a long day, Raven found themselves wishing Reverie goodbye at the end of the evening... wherever he was going. They had met plenty of people like him before - shapeshifters, spirits, magical people - and knowing magic themselves, they understood there were different consequences for different people. Nobody can stay in one place too long. On the other hand, as the last glint of starlight vanished behind a corner, the usually pragmatic and sensible Clive found himself wondering what he had gotten himself into...
~~~skip~~~ A full moon glowed above, illuminating a partially cloudy night sky. A cool breeze blew through tall and lush autumn trees, leaving only the sound of rustling leaves to be heard. To some, it almost sounded like music. Victorian streetlights below filled the stony path with a warm light. It was empty, yet familiar.* In a quiet corner of this world that wasn't quite there, somebody walked alone. Their midnight black hair flowed behind them as they gazed up at the sky, something unreadable shining in their iridescent eyes. Their hands were in their pockets, and the quiet sound of their shoes against the pavement almost seemed to echo as they hummed to themselves... ((ooc: OK here it is. i thought maybe like a week had passed through the skip:P let me know if this font is hard to look at also cuz i just like it being small
Reverie stood and stretched, relishing in the breeze ruffling his fur and the quiet, delicate calm washing over the dream. He pressed on slowly, breathing in the air around him and pausing to marvel at the rustle of the tree leaves or the soft, golden glow of streetlights in the nighttime. It was strange to happen upon something surreal when his entire existence was based on dreams. However, Reverie stood awestruck at the sight of a familiar figure stargazing along the distant cobblestone pathways. He scampered forward as he realized he had stumbled across the dream of his friend, little claws clicking against the stones. He let himself shift into a person before reaching them (and sneezed as a stray petal landed on the edge of his nose), and once he did, Reverie rather shyly tapped them on the shoulder to get their attention. He hoped he was welcome. . . It was so very rare for Reverie to visit the dreams of someone he knew.
Raven was nearly startled as they felt a tap on their shoulder, turning around suddenly in surprise. Their eyes flickered for a moment, before settling on a placid violet. "Oh, Reverie!" They smiled. "I thought I heard something. I figured if it was anyone, it was probably you." They took a deep breath and sighed, taking their hands out of their pockets and placing one on their hip. "Regardless, what are you doing here? Are you lost or something?"
Reverie smiled right back at them, expression bright. "Hi, Raven!" He tilted his head a little shyly as they went on, a flicker of a sheepish pout across his face at the mention of getting lost. "Uhm, don't worry - I'm not lost. I was just out wandering tonight and this is one of the dreams I ended up in!" He paused a moment and reached to fiddle with one of the fluffy ears atop his head. "How have you been, though? I can't, uh, figure out how time passes too well, so I hope I haven't been gone very long. . ."
"I'm alright. Same as ever, I guess." Raven turned back around and kept walking, checking periodically to make sure Reverie was following. "Maybe a little better than last time I saw you, if that's anything." They casually put their hands behind their head and looked up at the trees above them. "It hasn't been very long, maybe a week or two. Not much has changed. What about you?"
As he followed along beside them, Reverie hummed contentedly while Raven spoke. "It is something!" He hesitated a moment to turn and look at them with a shiny, enthusiastic expression. "I'm glad to hear you're doing better," he began with another little smile, "And to see you're getting some sleep!" Reverie followed Raven's gaze towards the trees. Watching them sway, even if softly, in hints of a breeze always caused a rush of serenity to sweep over him. "Only a week or so. . . I'm thankful it hasn't been long, then! And - ah," He ruffled the little sprouts in his hair nervously. "Not much has changed for me, either. I've seen a couple really interesting dreams here and there, though, but that's all." He let a comfortable silence fall for a few short heartbeats before an idea struck him. "Uhm, hey, Raven? I'm not too sure how your powers work, but since you and Clive invited me over my last visit. . . You're welcome to come with me once I'm exploring again later, if you like?"
"Well," they cracked a smile, "I guess some sleep is better than nothing."
Raven furrowed their eyebrows for a brief moment. "I'd like to," they began, "but I'm not sure if I could. I can generally only go to tangible places, and it takes a lot of concentration to actually decide where I end up... even when I'm awake, let alone here." They glanced off into the middle distance somewhere. "Besides, I have to wake up at some point." A sigh escaped them as they put their hands back into their coat pockets. Their thoughts seemed to wander for a minute before they spoke up again. "Correct me if I'm wrong, though, but..." They cast an inquisitive look over to Reverie. "You can change people's dreams, can't you? Theoretically, if you were in somebody else's dream, couldn't you just make me appear? Or anyone, for that matter... Would that have the same effect?"
