Ana was wearing dark makeup, her eyes heavily lined with kohl and her lips coloured a deep wine colour. She wore a black ribbed cami crop top, a leather jacket, a short skirt with a charcoal and light gray tartan pattern, and black fishnet tights. Her short purple hair was artfully dishevelled and her ears and nose glittered with silver jewellery. Her nails were coated in chipped black nail polish
The Anderson child headed into the living room, taking a seat on the same sofa as her adoptive sister, but leaving plenty of a gap so the other girl could work, and also because Diana liked her space. She opened her black canvas backpack (which was covered in colourful band pins) and pulled out some homework, planning on getting some work done for a little while.
She wouldn’t be normally bothering to do any schoolwork, but it distracted her from what was happening with her visions; the teenager’s clairvoyance has been suspiciously dormant for quite some time by that point, showing her very few visions. That usually meant something big was coming, a big and important vision. She didn’t want to think about that. She just wanted the kind of normal, stable life she hadn’t been able to have before the Andersons had adopted her.
She couldn’t remember what had happened to her parents, but she could remember everything that had happened afterwards. Care home after care gone, foster family after foster family. Handed around like a parcel and all the while trying not to let anything slip about the visions she would get or how she had incredible reflexes. She didn’t know what would happen if anyone found out. Would anyone want to adopt a super?
Putting these thoughts out of her head, Diana looked over at her sibling, perfectly arching an eyebrow to Daffodil
“How’s it going? Good day at school?” Ana asked her younger sister
She tended to avoid most people and do her own thing when she was at school, a principle she generally applied even to family. She didn’t usually make an effort to catch up with Daffodil while they were at school, but she did tend to ask how her day had been when they were home in the evenings. She didn’t know why; it was about the kindest or most caring think the girl did when it came to her siblings.

The younger sister had placed her feet down. "It was good. Doing your homework already?" She was wearing a yellow off shoulder blouse, a blue jean skirt with a sunflower pattern, and brown floral sandals. Her shoulder length blonde hair highlighted pink and curled at the end. She was wearing gold studs and a simple gold necklace. For makeup was a light pink eye shadow, pink lip gloss, and a little bit of pink blush.
Sometimes Daffodil wished her adoptive sister would open up to her more instead of asking how school was. Even though by appearance they were like night and day; they weren't completely different. They both been through foster home, through foster home, and had to deal with the trouble of being a super. She wondered if she made her sister uncomfortable. She never talked to her during school, and she even decided to sit away from her. She wished she could figure out a way to get her to open up more. After all; they were siblings, and they were in this together.

“Yeah,” Ana responded to her sister, frustratedly blowing some hair out of her face as she looked at the work “it’s prettty dumb, honestly. But our dads will kill me if I don’t something done and detention is starting to get boring.”
She took a moment to glance over at Daffodil. They were so different, but in many ways they were two sides of the same coin. Both supers, both had dealt with the loss of their parents, both had been handed through the care system as kids. She wondered what her sister thought of her. Maybe she wanted a closer relationship. But Diana didn’t really do that kind of thing with anyone, she didn’t like to get close to people. Sister or not, even if they were similar.
She did care, but she just didn’t show it. The only way she tended to show it was by asking about Daffodil’s school day, but even that wasn’t obvious and she didn’t know if her sister even knew that asking about school was Di’s way of showing that she cared.
She was as comfortable with her family as she could be with anyone, but once again that probably didn’t show. Ana rode solo, being as she didn’t like getting close to people - both physically and emotionally.
Maybe she should reach out to Daffodil a little? Show she wasn’t a mean moody mess all of the time.
“Your nails look nice,” Ana commented , the hint of a smile tugging at her lips.
That was about as much as she was willing to do that day, but there was admittedly a part of her that did want to be a little closer with Daffodil. If she was, she might be able to talk to the other girl about everything that was happening with her visions and maybe they could even help each other through the struggles of being a teenager and a super at the same time.

"I bet it is. I don't know what's worse. Schoolwork or sitting and doing nothing all day. And thank you. Yours do too." Daffodil gave a big smile.
That was a first. She never told her anything about her appearance. She probably thought she was one of those annoying air headed girls at school. Maybe she could start wearing some dark colors to get Diana a little more comfortable with her. Have her show she can be serious sometimes and wasn't all happy preppy. Maybe she could try hugging her? No. That might push her away. She probably wasn't used to affection.
She did hope she could get closer to her one day however. What if something ever happened to their dads? They would have to rely on each other. She tries not to think about that, and hoped that it would never happen. But after years of being in the foster system, you always needed to be aware of the worst.

“Thanks,” Ana replied
The young super was just about to return to her work when a strange feeling came over her, almost as if she was floating or somehow detached from her body. A cold fear began to fill her; she knew what that meant. A vision was coming.
Confirming her suspicions, suddenly an excruciating pain ripped through her body. It felt like her skull was splitting, and like an energy within her body was trying to burst out of her. She was dimly aware of a pained shriek escaping her body, and it seemed she had put her head in her hands, having dropped the pen she was writing with.
Then she could see it. Two pairs of figures, standing toe to toe. Two of the figures she recognised to be herself and Daffodil. There was a strong, determined feeling about them, a unity she hadn’t experienced before. The other two she didn’t recognise, and she couldn’t even clearly see what they looked like. But there was a dark feeling around them, some kind of evil that made Ana feel a heavy weight in her stomach. This felt bad. There was a feeling of unity around them, too. She and Daffodil were a team, but so were this apparently hostile pair.
And as they squared up to fight, circling slowly around one another, the vision stopped and Diana was brought back to reality. She was sitting in her living room next to her sister once again.
The pain was fading now but she felt lightheaded, and there were angry red crescent shapes on her palms where she had made fists with her hands in her pain, digging her nails into her palms. She was breaking a little heavily, still feeling a little shaken. She’d never experienced a vision that painful before, nor had she ever experienced one that solid. Usually it was just flashes, short glimpses of the future. But that was a longer vision than she usually had.
She looked over at Daffodil.
“This isn’t good,” Ana said, fear lining her voice for the first time in a long time

Daffodil looked concerned for her sister. "Are you okay? What happened!?" She was about to reach for her hands when she saw the crescent shaped marks on her palms; but stopped herself unsure if she wanted someone holding her hands right now. The way she sounded scared her. She never saw Ana in this state of shock. Or heard her sound fearful of anything. Whatever the vision was. It must've been horrifying.

“I’m okay,” Ana replied, nodding numbly
Normally these visions caused some pain, but this was entirely different. This was like nothing she’d experienced before.
“I saw something,” she began “and it doesn’t look good. I saw us, and we were about to fight two people. I didn’t really see what they looked like, but they gave me a really bad feeling. They seemed like supers, and they felt really dangerous and evil. They were a team, they seemed unstoppable. I got the impression that if we continue along our current path, it won’t end well for us.”
She paused, brushing some purple hair behind her ear.
“But in the vision, we were a team too. I don’t know how that fight would end, we might be guaranteed to lose no matter what we do, but my visions don’t lie. If we carry on as we are, we’re in serious danger. Logic dictates have to change the path we’re on, stack the deck in our favour. I think we need to find a way to work together, figure out this thing on our own.”
She sent a little glance around, making sure their fathers weren’t in earshot.
“You can’t tell Caleb and Chase about this, they’ll only worry about our safety and it wouldn’t be a good idea to draw them into our crap.”
She didn’t want their adoptive fathers to worry about them or put themselves in danger for their daughters

She twirled some pink in her hair. Nodding in understanding. "Did the people at least appear to be male or female? Was the place dark? I'm pretty much powerless in the dark." She had so many questions, at the same time; she didn't want to overwhelm her. One they barely talk to each other, and plus she had just gotten over the vision. Most likely she was just as confused as she was.
"I won't tell. You didn't see them right?" She asked. If it was just Ana and her in the vision she wondered what had happened to their fathers. Were people still planning to eradicate supers? A feeling as something cold was being pressed down on her chest came down on her at the thought of it.

“They both looked female, but I didn’t see their faces,” Ana replied “and I couldn’t really tell if it was dark or light. Maybe it’s not certain where we’ll be when we actually fight; the background just looked kind of blurry, to be honest. All I know is we have to have one another’s backs. I don’t have any offensive abilities, I’ll be relying on my enhanced reflexes and my kickboxing. And I can heal other people but not myself. We’re both going to be vulnerable.”
She still felt a little strange, but she was gradually getting better. She’d be back to normal in a few minutes, or that was how she felt.
“Nah, they weren’t there,” Ana replied “not at that point anyway. Maybe we were waiting for them to show up, maybe they show up later. I don’t know. Maybe they never find out or maybe they were in some trouble. I have no idea. They weren’t with us, that’s all I know.”
She was worried for the safety of their adoptive fathers, but she didn’t feel that she needed their support for this. She didn’t really see them as her fathers, not yet. Partly because she didn’t want to get close to them, partly because she’d had a father who loved her once upon a time and Ana didn’t want to replace him. She just called her adoptive fathers by their respective first names, she’d never called them ‘dad’ and chose not to really treat them as she would a father. They were still her caregivers, she supposed, but they weren’t her fathers. She could - and wanted to - handle this without them.

Daffodil just nods. "You do know you don't have to call them by their names. They are our fathers after all..." She didn't have a lot of memories of her real parents. That was probably why she was comfortable with calling them her fathers.
As if on cue Caleb walks in the living room removing his tie. "Explain to me why I got another call from the school that you had detention again? Why do you keep getting into trouble?"

“I know,” Ana responded “I just feel more comfortable calling them by their names. I remember my dad, it just doesn’t feel right calling them that. It’s more casual anyway.”
She couldn’t let her new fathers replace the one she’d grown up with. She’d been seven when he and her mother died, Ana was able to remember them. They were wonderful people, and itndidnt feel fair to their memories to replace them. Plus, Ana hadn’t really bonded quite enough with them for that whole thing yet. She still kept an emotional distance from her family.
But then Caleb walked in, and Ana turned her blue eyes towards her adoptive father.
“Look, some idiot was insulting a friend of mine, so I punched him in the nose.” Diana said with an angry sigh “that school is stupid, Caleb, I hate it. I didn’t even break his nose.”
In reality, the kid wasn’t insulting any friend of hers. They were having a dig at Ana’s adopted family and the girl had snapped. She wasn’t close to her family but they were good people and she was grateful for the life she had with them. She wouldn’t tolerate people insulting them. And, okay, maybe she did care for them. A little tiny bit.

Caleb just sighed. Clearly punishing her won't work. He had to approach this differently.
"Today is your lucky day. You are not grounded." He begins.

Chase had also made his way into the room, his mismatched eyes watching as Caleb and Ana spoke. So, there was some annoying kid, hm. "Should've broken his nose," he said with a snort. "Bullies don't respond too well unless it's to trauma." But then again, bullies usually had their own demons, so that was probably enough. Scratching his chin, he looked over as Caleb stated that she wasn't grounded, raising a brow? Really? Well, he supposed that was alright, cause he didn't really mind that Ana stood up for herself. So long as she didn't break the kid's arm or something. Leaning over, he whispered in Caleb's ear "I do hope you have another idea cause you can't exactly let kids go unpunished for punching people."

Ana had been expecting punishment, or at least to be told off.
She couldn’t help but give a little smile to Chase.
”That was exactly what I thought,” Ana responded
But then Caleb said she wasn’t grounded. Ana’s expression was momentarily surprised, but a moment later she raised an eyebrow.
“Wait, I’m not?” Diana asked in surprise “I don’t understand.”
This didn’t make any sense. Why wasn’t she being punished? She was used to that, she understood that. She could deal with punishment easily. But she wasn’t sure where Caleb was going with this, because wasn’t she stilll in trouble?

"She's not grounded but she's going to do something she's not going to like." He whispered back.
He was tired of seeing space between her and Daffodil. Yes, some space was good. But this was ridiculous. They were siblings. They shouldn't be still acting like strangers for as long as they have been adopted. Besides, if she were to spend more time with Daffodil chances are that she would get into less trouble.
Last, he was tired of Diana calling him and Chase by their first names. Though he would deal with that later. Right now he wanted to focus on relationship between her and Daffodil.
"You're not. But you're going to do something you may not like. You're going to spend time with Daffodil. You two need to be sisters. Not two strangers who happen to live under the same roof."
Daffodil hid a smile. This was just too perfect. They would be able to tell them they were going out shopping or seeing a movie or something to that extent, while in reality they were out stopping whom and what this threat was. She just looked confused to hide her excitement.

Chase blinked at what Caleb said. Putting them together? That wasn't all bad. However, he studied the girls, their features for any chance. Daffodil was hiding something. She wouldn't be confused over something like this. She would be excited that she and her sister were finally going to spend time together. He wasn't going to press the subject though, as he wasn't one to be most unless absolutely necessary. He would just bring the matter up to Caleb later. So, all he was did crack a slight smile. "Hopefully you two will get a little closer," he said, watching them still, his mismatched eyes holding the slightest hint of amusement, but he said nothing further. He then frowned slightly, adding "If there's any trouble though, you call us. Understand? Petty criminals are one thing, but don't confront anyone who looks super dangerous."

There was an initial moment of surprise from Ana at her father’s words, but she glanced over at Daffodil for a moment. She knew the other girl was thinking the same thing she was; this was a perfect opportunity. It gave them the chance to work together without the suspicion of their dads.
But for now she had to pretend to dislike the idea.
“Really?” Diana asked “Look, I have nothing against Daffodil, but I just don’t do the whole sisterly love thing.”
This was true; she’d never had siblings before she’d been taken into care, and then she had suddenly spent all of her time in a children’s home with lots of other kids. She’d spend a lot of her time trying to keep her distance from all of those kids, desperate for a moment to herself amongst the noice and chaos. Now the house was quieter but she hadn’t changed. She didn’t like getting close to people and she liked her space.
She figured her dads would know this and her reaction would be believiable.
“Fine,” she said after a moment, adding a sigh for good measure “I’ll do the happy families thing.”

Dashiell Robert Parr was at his locker, grabbing some books for his next class. He didn’t have long to get there, but that was never an issue for him, for obvious reasons.
He hated school, though, and couldn’t wait to leave. He was jealous of his sister, Violet, who’d finished school a couple of years ago now. He was hoping to go to college when he was finished, hopefully with a sports scholarship or something like that. He didn’t want to be a professional athlete, as he didn’t think it would be fair on the other competitors, but he wouldn’t mind having a sports scholarship either way. Plus he liked to win, because obviously he was competitive. Everything was a competition to him.
But what brought joy to him despite the fact that he was stuck at school (as was Jack-Jack, now) was the hero work he got to do with his parents. He was always developing his powers, getting faster and stronger as he got older and taking down bigger and more powerful villains. As his parents were getting older, he and Violet were even starting to outpace their parents a little, taking more active roles in their hero work.
