Hey, Spotted, I got a question for ya. You mentioned that the leader has the closest relationship with the mentor. Since I'm the leader, I was wondering how you saw their relationship starting and building, and why it's so much stronger than that between the mentor and the others.
xx {{ ah! alright, glad you asked! mostly, because he shows a lot of leadership, he has always had a soft spot for the kid. ever since he moved to narda, he's kept a watch on the children and people alike, and while he wasn't one to really talk, when he did, your character, casper, has always been the one most interested in what he has to say. while he's just hunter that is growing old, he has always kind of helped casper out in various things, albeit a bit harshly. even so, he kinda has more of soft spot for casper than everyone else, since he's spent more time with the boy than everyone else.

» The Strategist ::
The butcher's daughter, the girl who grew up with no-nonsense. She's someone who seems sweet but isn't afraid to get dirty. She's sort of like the adorable glue to holds them together, but with a slight mothering attitude. She's good with knives, not surprisingly at all.
As stated above, she's a total sweetheart. She comes up with good ideas to get her and her friends out of trouble and she may seem like a ditsy sweetie, but she has quite a bit of power behind her voice.
• Kestrel Comet sixteen || female || The Strategist Kestrel is a smaller girl, standing at 5'5. She is slim but fit, with more strength than most expect. She is swift, agile, and extremely light on her feet, and this is matched with a more grounded personality. She has a light skin tone that darkens and lightens slightly with the seasons. Her hair is long and wavy, and usually kept in a braid. It is a light caramel brown, shot through with darker chocolate brown and lighter honey brown. Her eyes, framed by long, dark lashes, are a steady blue-grey.
.x. persistent .x. adventurous .x. bossy .x. .: Zephyr :..: Zephyr, like his bonded human, is on the small side, but he has an attitude that belies that fact. He may be smaller than most other dragons he encounters, but he always faces them as if he is the giant. His scales are a lovely shade of cobalt blue, with a slightly paler underbelly and streaks of a darker midnight blue along his back and wings. His eyes are a bright cornflower blue, with hints of stunning violet. :. -- [ .dakodablu ]

Calen❝ Everything has an end. But everything also has a beginning.❞the run-away - narda — ❦ ❦ ❦ —
Blue eyes warily cast down from the forest, looking forward to the wall with a cautious look. A gloved hand pushed the dark scarf up over his nose as he glanced at the large bunch of soldiers heading into the small town. A fishing town on the coast, not much going on there. Mostly thought of, at least. A rustling of leaves and branches came from behind him, a large, low breath being released by a creature much, much larger than him. A hand pushed backwards to press against scales, a comforting feel to him.
He knew why they were here, at this fishing town. He knew before just about anyone else did, especially in that party. The young man looked up behind where a pair of bright, reptilian eyes stared down at him, the massive head lowering down to view him at an equal height.
This is something that we have to do, a large voice stated, silent to all but the boy. You know it in your heart, as you have stated many times. It would happen eventually.
There was just silence as the boy's gaze went back down to the town, which held a bit of a small wall, nothing that could dare stop much from the outside, in his opinion. A sigh left him as he took a step backwards, a hand clenching the hilt of a sword at his side. This sword was not his, it did not belong to him. But it was a blade, nonetheless, a means of protecting himself from creatures and people alike, that would be after him.
Calen. The name came to mind, the dragon's voice entering his mind.
Leevtor. A name was silently stated back, the boy's soft voice murmuring in a void of sound.
The one whom was addressed as Calen shifted his weight and then moved forward. He had done this so many times, pulling up his hood and not even needing to motion for his best friend to stay in place, to watch cautiously. He knew what this meant, he knew what was happening. He hadn't been on this side before, he had never had to do this. These men and women had their own families, people who depended on them. But they were in his way, they were going to put someone in harm's way, someone he did not view that should be.
They were here for the Riders. They were here for the Dragons. And so was he.
Slinking in the moonlight, a dawn on the endless stretch of sea, the sixteen year old moved quickly, quietly, a practiced form. His hood was pulled up, to make him even harder to figure out as he moved into the town. There was no time, he had to make sure that they would get out of here. It was for the best that they did. And if he had to fight, then so be it. But he could not risk his dragon being seen. Not by these soldiers. Or he could lose everything.
He had heard a name that was familiar. Blue eyes locked onto brown ones as he walked into a tavern, looking for a sign, anything. The sound of marching sounded softly in the bare beginning of the morning, and it was familiar to both. The man did not say anything to the boy, but merely pushed past him to glance outside. Calen was an outsider here, and this man did not know him. But he knew who the man was.
"Hidasta." A name softly spoken, making the man freeze. "You know where they are. And you know why they're here." There was silence in response, as the man took in a deep breath and thought, trying to think of something to do. "Protect them."
"And who are you, to say such accusations?" a cold tone hissed at him. Under the scarf, a small smile came to his lips.
"A friend, running from the same thing." With that, the soft spoken boy went out of the tavern, a soft hum as he walked out casually. I don't want you to come out unless it turns ugly. These people do not deserve to be a part of this, do not drag them into this. They will know immediately if you are even so much as seen.
If they try to kill you, I will show no mercy, a growl in his head as he stood to look at the man upon horseback, leading the large group forward, seemingly needlessly. A small fishing town, far from everyone. Who would've thought of such things?
"Halt!" a shouting command went over. "Who are you?"
"I-I'm A-A-Alph-phons-phonse, s-s-si-s-sir," a nervous stutter in his voice as he glanced up at them, shifting uneasily. "I-I was j-just g-g-goin' t-t-to-" Before he could even finish, he was cut off, a piercing command that nearly made his heart stop, a ball of anxiety going to his stomach. A unfamiliar feeling.
"Show me your hands, boy." His breath hitched and he took a step back. He swallowed thickly and slowly removed his right glove, as a soldier approached him and looked him over. "We know that there are stolen items here. Show me your other hand." His heart began to race, a surge of energy through his body.
"I-I-I b-burned my h-h-hand, s-s-sir." He heard someone approach and a hand was on his shoulder before he knew it. He felt trapped, he felt cornered. Is this what everyone felt like, being here, being in the middle of all this? He never did this. He was always safe. And now, he wasn't.
"Is there a problem?" The voice of the man. Hidasta. Cold eyes stared up at the commander, not even giving the boy the time of day. "Unless you're here to investigate his health, me and my boy will be on our way."
"Not so f-" the commander began, but a loud growl emitted from the forest, a snarl soft, slithering through the dark like a snake, bringing unease to those whom heard it.
Stay out of this! They can't see you! the boy snapped, blinking as he stared into the forest, high from the walls, where he knew something much larger, and powerful, stood.
I will not be seen. But that doesn't mean I will not be heard. Use this time wisely. A tree cracked as it was pushed down, a frightening crash as movement moved up the hillside from afar. A pause in the familiar voice, almost mocking. Calen.
Lips pressed tightly together under the scarf as he peered back. Leevtor, the boy hissed silently back, mockingly. Commands were barked, and all hell broke lose as doors were barged open. This seemed to frighten the man, and he dragged the small boy behind him.
"Was that yours?" a quiet question asked. "Yes." An answer he wasn't pleased to say, hushed and quiet. "I know there are four."
"Butcher's daughter, farmer's son, soldier's daughter, doctor's twin son." More information than what he recently knew. Curious on the options picked, but the fact that they were all so close, here, in this very town. It was astonishing. All four eggs found their Riders, here in the same place.
Commands flew out, as soldiers went from building to building, demanding to see everyone's hands, to search the house, asking where the eggs were, where the dragons were. Leevtor, he pleaded quietly, a weird feeling settling over him. I need you to do something. All four are here. I thought there was only one here that he was said to be hiding and the rest were still missing. There was a loud roar that seemed to shake the forest and everyone seemed to stop. Hidasta's eyes laid on him and then he quickly walked in the direction of what Calen assumed to be the closest Rider's house.
"Go. There is a clearing north of here." A bit of unease rose in him, but that was the only thing the man said as he quickly moved along the shadows and buildings, going past a small fence and then disappearing.
A soldier spotted Calen as he started to move off towards the nearest exit and started to move after him. A small yelp left him as he was grabbed, but he let the scarf slide down as he stared into the man's eyes. "I'm sorry," the sixteen year old whispered as he pulled his sword away, something he slide from the sheathe quickly, and let the man fall to the ground gently before dashing off.
There would be more after him. He could hear the shouts of the chase already. I need a pick up. Now!
A rush of wind, a thunder of a large creature moving and, within the sky rose a dark shadow, as the boy ran sprinting down the path up the hill. A growl echoed through the once peaceful beginning of a new day. The ground trembled as the creature jumped down onto the path, the earth giving way easily to his claws and weight as he slide and crouched down, letting the boy jump on and, as he climbed onto the leader binding that was supposed to be a saddle, the creature gave a deafening roar and took off, bounding and quickly moving to spread his wings.
"After them!" "There's the dragon!" "Move! Get them!"
A smirk found its way onto the normally quiet, gentle boy. They would not catch him. They wouldn't get close. And he had a lot of time to kill. What do you say that we mess with them a little, hmm Leevtor? He was supposed to be nervous. He was supposed to be scared. He didn't like fights. But... this wasn't a fight.
Let's play a game, Calen.
