Samandriel "Well, everyone has their secrets and their likes. He wasn't always a killer of course, lived a more normal life before he was recruited for such." What a shame he became such a gruesome individual, singer or not. When The subject changed, the owl smiled gently. "The ancient beings that walk among us are actually much less violent than us mortals, though in the sense they rarely exercise their power for outright violence, especially for matters that do not concern them." Upon the rate occasions they did, their enemies, usually mortals who thought they could conquer gods, were massacred. "Let us hope they never find enough reason to step into our matters, lest we all learn the hard way about what and what not to do." Some of the great creatures were monsters, and some were not. She just wondered why another didn't step in to stop Kalonymos. Had anyone ever even tried asking? Maybe they were too intimidated. "All we can hope for is that the world will sort itself out one day, I suppose. "

𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 Dakar laughed a little. "Not easy indeed. Time is not something you can just pick up like pyromancy or even alchemy. It is something this world runs on, so it is almost like you are tapping into the power of the world, if you learn to use it correctly." Looking around, taking a few steps, he bent down and picked up a rock. It wasn't big, rather small, not going to hurt when thrown. Too much. "I first learned how to cushion the impact of things." He tossed the rock up. As it fell down, it seemed to do so slower than normal, until it lightly tapped his nose and fell to the side and onto the ground. His magic then worked again, allowing the rock to retrace its steps, and he gently grasped it again. "So that is what you will try. Slow the rock." And with that, he simply threw it. At least it wasn't a boulder, right? Would Akriel get it his first try? Absolutely not, but sometimes you didn't really learn if you only did something once. Hey! Just a head up, I'll be inactive this weekend. I'm going on a vacation.)
Akriel yelped in surprise. His arms flailed as he tried to gather his thoughts enough to use the magic. As one might expect, nothing happened more than a spark of energy slightly resembling the feel of Dakars magic. The rock bounced off his head and he watched it fall the the ground and roll a few steps away "I wasn't expecting that..." was all he could say. He continued "But I think I can work on it." it would take time, he already knew that.

The lion laughed as Akriel got hit with the rock. Nodding a little, he said "It is only logical that we start you off with something small. It wouldn't bode well to have you try anything major yet." He looked around for another small rock. Finding one, he picked it up. "I trust you will learn quickly. You seem very intent on it." And with that, he threw the rock, but he didn't throw hard enough to actually hurt. Just to get the point across. "It doesn't hurt that you've got one of the best teachers around though, hm?" His good eyes glittered in amusement.

Smokey Feather Hornet simply nodded. True, of course. But I cannot shake the feeling that he's a much deeper individual than I've been lead to believe. Desperate to find something solid to speak about, something she was sure of, she grabbed her tea and sipped deeply. "Of course." Pause. "I'd like to ask a small favor of you, Lady Luna." Of this one thing she was certain- if she saw the King, she would remember this day. Always. So if she could move away, she might gain some peace within herself, with the things she'd done. "I'd like to leave the King's guard and join yours. Which, as I gather, is lacking." She'd long ago lost her ambitions for captain, and found the Priestess to be someone she respected.

"They certainly would. I bet they'd think ya wouldn't notice a quick and silent thief." Eri joked "You've probably not had to deal with pickpockets or magic that's used for stealin'. You'd better pay attention or that weapon of yours might disappear." it was said playfully, but there was truth to her words. Finally they turned a corner and she walked into a nice looking building. At the counter was a dog humanoid. She looked up when they entered and smiled warmly.
"Welcome back Eri! I assume you have something you want me to watch?" Eri nodded and handed over her stuff. This shop was run by one of the sharpest dogs in the area. Her hearing was attuned to both physical and magical movement so she could catch any thieves. It was the safest place around. (I can't believe I missed this. Sorry for delay!) He laughed, but his grip tightened upon the hilt of his axe. "Greetings sir." Bukrath answered upon entering, dropping the extra weapons they had confiscated from the bandits. With a quick glance to Eri, he simply took the stage. "I am Eri's travel companion and bodyguard, Bukrath, son of Taradet. Upon our journey we met a group of attackers, and engaged in a battle. The bounty is what we'd like you to look after." He declared. Other eyes could be on him, he didn't care. Being the main attraction had a sudden appeal, something he'd missed that he never had.

Samandriel The priestess blinked once, a look of surprise about her expression. Be her guard? "Well, I do suppose that could be arranged," she said after a while, taking another sip of tea. "I have had people come here to harass my patients. Kill them even, cause they are deemed "weak" and such by the public. No place in the kingdom." The thought was saddening. "Maybe with just your presence, those who wish to cause trouble will be deterred." She tilted her head in thought though, studying Hornet. "You seem like the type to go traveling though, maybe a mercenary, not that I encourage such things. It's almost flattering that you wish to work here instead of for the crown."

Hornet shook her head. "I appreciate your generosity. I, however, do not like travel." She leaned back and took a quick sip of her drink, and crossed her legs to relax for the first time in a long time. "And while I've enjoyed my position as a Royal Guard, I was only enduring Nanuk's constant... everything he does, in order to gain favor and reach the rank of Captain. I very swiftly learned a young girl like me, who's strength in combat is agility and not brute strength, had almost no chance at that. And maybe some part of me also hoped... Oh, I don't know." Hornet was even flustered slightly now, glancing away and down with a smile. A queen. Yes, I'd need to be near him almost always, but such power and authority! A little girl's dream. Maybe I'm not all that grown up.Smokey Feather

Luna listened to Hornet, quiet. Toward the end, she smiled slightly. She never would've guessed. "I'm sure there are plenty of others that can and will catch your eyes. You're a very pretty young woman, and are more than capable of taking care of yourself. That is more than enough for plenty of the men here. Or women?" She wasn't one of the ones who looked down upon such things. "Either way, you are more than welcome to stay here and be my guard. Perhaps you'll get more out of it. Maybe be a little more relaxed. I'm sure guarding the king allows time for fun or relaxation!"

Hornet realized, as she laughed softly with Miss Rhayne, how wonderful she felt here. "I graciously accept. What will I need to do to get myself transferred officially?" With her trust in Luna completely, she wanted to make it as easy as she could. "Should I go to my quarters, gather my belongings?"Smokey Feather(Sorry for shortness, sudden headache is making it hard to write. Headache meds should kick in soon, oof)

Luna nodded once. "Yes, you simply need to collect your things, though I do assume that you must tell the king as well. Not doing so wouldn't bode well for either of us." It wouldn't get them thrown over or anything, they'd just be in trouble. Smiling slightly, she continue "And whenever you are ready to do so, you need only come back here with your things." She was already looking forward to having Hornet there, deciding that they would make good friends.

Sabre has the servants and a few soldiers start setting things up. He flicked his tail as he wondered how long all of this would take to put together. However, there wasn't exactly a time limit currently. Still, he didn't want this to take too long. Sabre might inquire the king about this later.

She was already looking forward to having Hornet there, deciding that they would make good friends. Hornet rose from her chair, and bowed to the priestess. "I cannot thank you enough. I will be back tonight." She set aside the little bit of tea she had not finished, and grabbed her mask from its spot beside her chair. After placing it upon her head, she felt her armor, that metal meant to protect her heart from emotion, slide back into place. Within the mask she was a guard through and through, and without, she was a girl, one who dreamed of being a princess or queen. (We had talked about Luna and Kenku kind of being a thing. I had an idea for their first meeting, if you'd like to hear it.)

Akriels raised his hand and there was another small spark of energy resembling Dakars. It was much more planned out this time, but the rock still arched through the air and Akriel caught it instead of slowing it's movement. He scowling, tilting his head to the side and weighing the rock in his hand. However he didn't look discouraged. There was an excitement shining in his eyes and he nodded to Dakar "I promise I'll get it! It would be a waste to let you down."
Eris ears twitched as Buk spoke. Shrugging she figured he'd take care of it while she was giving her items. The animal at the counter nodded and carefully pulled a paper from the desk "There are a few bounties around here, but I only have the papers. For any sort of gold you'll have to inquire at the bar." The papers were spread out and a few familiar faces were on them mixed in with ones that Eri had never seen.

𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 "Any sort of improvement is good." Not many could ever even dream of manipulation time, and Akriel already had something going. It wasn't much at all, but it was technically still something. And that was great. Looking around, he sought out another rock, looking for small ones as he thought about whatever. "You still have a ways to go though, of course, though I doubt you'll be looking for much else for the next while." He assumed that Akriel would want to take as much time as he could to practice the magic, as the only way to even use it competently was to simply keep exposing yourself to it. The thought made him smile slightly, and he threw the next rock. "Hopefully you'll get relatively good at using time magic, but I suppose it is a matter of what you do with what you've learned."

Akriel nodded "I'll continue working it." he wasn't even thinking about anything else. The rabbit wanted to focus on practicing, and he looked excited to do so. The idea behind it made sense, and from what he could tell he could do it. At the very least he had a good sense for the magic. Akriel, ironically enough, just needed time.
