Sabre was currently walking about and having a servant writing down his ideas for the tournament. There would be hand to hand combat, sword fighting and even a battle of strength and wit. Those were the easiest to come up with. Now he was trying to come up the harder ones. Something to really test their might.

Samandriel Nanuk watched as Jerra announced his presence officially to the jewelers, a walrus and a puffin who had been going about their work in their store. They curiously perked up at the mention of diamonds, looking toward the sacks with a slight glint of greed about them. The puffin was the first to speak, saying "How kind of the king to Grace our presence, and on top of that being us gifts to please others with." The two men jumped on delight as Nanuk set his bags down, revealing the glint of the previous jewel. The two made sure they were able to approach before looking among the pieces, the walrus saying "Ooh, these will do nicely." After Jerra set her own haul down, the puffin looked inside curiously, adding "Almost as big a haul as what those miners from Dharain might get!" Looking up, he hopped over to the displays that were set out. "Might it please the nice miss to pick out something she likes?" They didn't offer to Nanuk only because it was widely known he wasn't one to wear anything remotely fancy unless it was absolutely necessary, and even then it would be made by the jewellers back at his home. So, the bear just watched Jerra instead to see if she would accept the offer.

Hawkeyes258 Tishka was currently taking a break for a while, having been in her private quarters going over possible battle strategies, should they ever be needed. As she walked, dressed in a simple shirt and pants for now, she looked around at the occasional people who crosses her path. She took notice of Sabre though, talking away to a servant. Hm? The tournament? She had already heard whispers of it and had signed herself up even before much planning had been done. She was always willing to participate in such things and earn glory for her king. Her little tail-nub twitched in excitement as she hurried over, smoothing her head feathers down as she said "How is the tournament planning going, sir? Anything interesting?" As long as there was fighting though, she was all for it.

Sabre looked down at his commander and his friend Tishka. "Coming along well, I'm just coming up with different tasks and challenges. I have the basics but I'm working on the more unique challenges." He paused for a moment before speaking again. "I'm thinking they have to carry heavy ice weights or weights that happen to be on fire. How does that sound?"

Hawkeyes258 Tishka nodded at what she was hearing. "That sounds great, sir. A real challenge is what makes it a tournament!" Hopefully those weights wouldn't be Nanuk heavy though, or no one in the tournament would be able to move squat. Now walking with Sabre, just looking around at things as they walked, she then asked curiously "Will you be participating, sir? It would be good on the king to see his officers doing well against everyone else!" Her voice was determined as she looked up at the taller man walking beside her. "It would be an honour to compete against you!"

"Course I will be." Sabre answered puffing out his chest a little. "No way, I'm letting all the soldiers have all the fun." Besides, competing would be a good way to show off his skills. "Granted, I won't be doing every event or else the soldiers wouldn't stand a chance." He laughed a bit before continuing. "Just know I don't plan to go easy on you friend."

Hawkeyes258 Tishka scoffed playfully. "Won't go easy on me? Ha! It will be you who's going to be given a run for their money!" She did not plan on letting up either, wanting to show that she was one of the best even though many knew. "As long as I'm not in the pool of losers, I'm good for the most part. I hear the king is throwing them all over the Cliff." She shivered slightly at the thought. Then, to change the subject a bit, she continued "I also hear Jerra is going to be competing, so that makes three high-ranking people in the tournament so far." Scratching her chin feathers, the penguin smiled slightly in amusement. "The three of us are in in for entirely different reasons though, it seems. I want the rewards, you want glory and Jerra wants to impress the king." Nothing impressed Nanuk though, or he did a good job at hiding it if it did. Shrugging at the idea, she continued "So, where are you off to? Or are you just wandering around as you plan?"

So, the bear just watched Jerra instead to see if she would accept the offer. The fact that Nanuk was silent to the offer meant this was a test. What did he want her to do? He valued strength, right? It would be strong of her to deny them, and keep this as a gift without strings attached, thus keeping them under the crown. But it would also be strong of her to accept, as they were giving a gift in return, yes? It may seem a futile attempt at being 'big' to turn them down. Too many scenarios went through her head as she thought, and finally had to give up. "I greatly appreciate your generosity. However, I must turn down your offer." She gave a curt nod, and Jerra back away to Nanuk's side.

Sabre moved so that his arms were crossed over his chest. "It's hard pleasing the king in general." He glances around for a moment before looking back at Tishka. He hardly ever seen the king smile let along laugh. "I'm just hoping this tournament reminds the soldiers that they need to shape up. To many start getting lazy thinking that they will be safe."

Samandriel Nanuk didn't do anything when Jerra declined the offer. The two other men simply thanked her for the diamonds again before hauling everything off to be examined and getting to work. The bear turned toward Jerra, studying her before turning to leave, motioning for her to follow. Once back outside again, he grunted "Is there anywhere else you need to make a stop at before I head back?" He technically could just leave either way, but he had nothing else to do. And if she didn't either, then oh well. Maybe he would find her something to do, and he would go back to his weight until some servant of other adviser decided to bother him. Grunting, he just looked ahead again as they walked.

Hawkeyes258 Tishka shrugged her shoulders. "I myself don't encourage the practice of throwing people to the Glutton, but it seems that it does indeed cut out risk of useless people, as harsh as it sounds." Sure, they had criminals and such, but those were usually dealt with by the executioner. "The king has made it quite clear that he is not going change thousands of years of tradition though, so we all must simply be on our toes. Always." She looked at Sabre to see what he thought.

She wanted to kick herself- she couldn't even find an excuse to stay with him. Then, an idea. "Unless... you'd like to join me for combat training." Some might consider it presumptuous to offer the king a spar, others might see it as crossing the line. But that was her job, to keep him guessing, break conventions.

"I see." Eri replied carefully "Well with all this money we have gotten from those bandits we might have to use it to celebrate our getting to the city. I know of some great food places there, and if you manage to keep my alive until we get there I'll even pay for it." she said enthusiastically, trying to lift the mood that had fallen over their little duo.
"That makes sense, I mean, theoretically. I still haven't seen enough to understand the magic behind it though." Akriel nodded slowly, thinking over what Dakar said in his own mind. There was a lot for him to learn and it was obvious "Really! Great! I was hoping we'd be able to start today. Though I wouldn't have pressed as I am sure you are busy."

(Me too, Eri. Me too. XD) Buk couldn't stop a small smile coming to his face. "I'll take that offer gladly, Eri. I'll keep you safe." Had he realized how special a moment like this was for him- his first real friend, truly- he would've bottled it up for safekeeping and remembrance later. "Not to worry, though. I believe we're almost there. And we're making good pace."

"Aye and I don't plan on being weak anytime soon." Sabre said unsheathing his claws and flexing them. He came to far to be labeled as weak. One day, he needed to pass on his genes to the next generation. His family name and legacy had to live on!

𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 Dakar chuckled gently. "Call it that I take my work with me wherever I go, constantly doing it. You're fine, Akriel." Soon, he showed him to one of the rooms. Opening the door up, it looked decent as he said "Well, here it is. I just wanted to show you before we got started. Would you like to take a look around first or just come back to it later?" It wasn't like the room was going anywhere, and it's current state was likely to change anyway the longer Akriel lived in it. It was just a matter of politeness really, Dakar knowing that Akriel would much rather just get started on the lessons. Looking down at the rabbit, an ear twitched as he stepped back a little just in case h wanted to go inside more and look around. "It's a little big, and has another little room just over there, but it isn't going to grow legs and walk off."

Samandriel Nanuk raised a brow. Combat training. Well, training for her really. If he wanted, he could merely squeeze her to death, or break her bones, but he supposed he had to catch her first. Shrugging his large shoulders, he sighed "I suppose we can go ahead and do that." They would need to head back to the castle anyway, where he of course did his training, and not just anywhere like some soldiers did. So, he changed his direction to head back to the castle, once again ignoring the looks he and Jerra were getting. He just kept looking ahead, large frame easily warning people to move out of the way and let the two pass. He briefly wondered why she wanted to train with him anyway. Maybe to test out that power of hers perhaps. He supposed he would have to humor her.

Hawkeyes258 Tishka smiled at his determination. "Well then, I'll be seeing you in the winner's circle, and we can share a drink as we watch the losers go tumbling over the edge, hm?" Such a setting would be both a relief and bitter, because it meant they were safe for now but also that they had to watch others suffer. Still looking ahead, she then asked "So, you got a special lady to impress?" She paused. "Or man? If you like that." She looked genuinely curious as she waited for an answer. Sometimes people participated in competitions to impress others, right?

Upon returning to his training grounds, Jerra tossed aside her tunic and walking staff. Under it, her chest was covered only by a set of bandages wrapped around tightly across her breasts, and wore a set of baggy brown pants. Jerra strode to an opposite corner of the room, hopping on her toes, unable to contain her excitement. A fight, with someone incredibly strong, was enough to get her giddy. Spending time close to His Majesty could cause her glee like no other man. But combining her absolute love of combat with her love for him, and she couldn't contain her joy. One could see the fiery gaze she held, something not courtly when in the presence of a king. She took another set of bandages, and wrapped them around her wrists. She would not be using her gauntlets for this fight. "Thank you for indulging me this, My King. I hope you find it as exciting as I do."

Sabre chuckled a little at her comment. "There is no one in my life right now." He said sheathing his claws. Sabre lets out a small huff before shaking his head. "I'll be honest haven't exact;y been looking." He has eyed a few ladies but haven't pursed them.

Hawkeyes258 Tishka shrugged. "Your job is an important one. A busy one, so it's understandable that you haven't been able to look for anyone yet." Neither had she, but she wasn't a really looking for a relationship at the moment. What if it slowed her down? Shaking her head, she continued "Just have to wait for the right moment, I guess. Maybe you'll find someone among the soldiers. I'd say that's your best bet."

Samandriel Nanuk merely grunted as Jerra spoke, watching her as she got ready for the spar. He had no changes to make to his own apparel, so he just rolled his shoulders a little, waiting for her to make the first move. As always, he just looked like a huge mountain with fur when he wasn't moving, dark eyes focusing on her as he readied them to just track her. Doing so would lessen his chances of being surprised by anything she did, not that anything she could produce would elicit such a response. Not obviously anyway. Motioning for her to start, his large paw gestured before resting in front of him a little.

(XP) Smokey FeatherShe ran full speed the moment he made a move to begin. There was no hesitation- her love for him was overcome by her addiction to the fight, her eagerness for that next dose of adrenaline. And as she ran, she went for a goad, a bait, at his strength. Jerra stopped just in front, lashed out with a quick jab to his chest to get him started, and as soon as he retaliated, she readied herself. A punch of kick, or any blunt attack, she would take, and absorb that strength. A grab would be worrisome, however, and in that case, Jerra was prepared to dodge backwards.

"Possibly." Sabre muttered as he glanced back at the soldiers. Some were still training while others talked among themselves. There was the possibility of his future lover dying on the battlefield or simply being to weak. Although, that risk was for everyone. "Suppose we will have to wait and see."

"Ya, you're right. Given the pace we're at we'll be there sooner rather than later. Though my timin might be bit off since I usually fly this route." she tapped her chin with her claw in thought before adding "Based on the sun, I think we'll even have time to go to one of my favorite shops. It closes earlier than you usual shop, unfortunately. Do you have any favorite types of food?"
"Thank you fort the room. Let's start with the lesson." Akriel said, poking his head into the room and glancing around. It was a nice room, and actually bigger than anything he'd had before. Since he was just a single rabbit there was never a time he'd either rent a big room, or have a big room when he lived at the orphanage.

Hawkeyes258 Tishka merely shrugged. "Well, how about we get back to that planning of yours? The ladies can come later after you've won all the glory and rewards of being awesome in the tournament. After me, of course." She smiled widely before practically hopping ahead, already thinking about the suggestions Sabre had made. She would give all the challenges her best, so she would be as far away from the danger of losing as possible. Living was definitely the goal, but being the best didn't hurt either.

𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 Dakar nodded before turning and continuing his walk down the hall, assuming Akriel was to follow. There was a special place that would work well for training someone, and his ear twitched as he thought about it. "We will go ahead and make another stop then," he said, continuing about the home. "Somewhere more suitable for a beginner, and where you can't cause any damage." Not that Akriel could do anything Dakar could not fix, but why do it somewhere that wasn't made to be damaged either way? He chuckled at the thought. As they walked, he randomly asked "So, do you have a favorite kind of magic? Or one that was easiest for you to learn with that power of yours?"

Nanuk watched her as she moved, his form shifting a little to accommodate her smaller figure. She was indeed fast, but he didn't make any movement indicating he was surprised. Letting her come at him, she got her first hit in, but he started actually moving to retaliate by the second hit. Now, if he actually went full-boar in a hit, he would likely crush her, even with her power if he did so at the right moment or as a surprise attack. Same result if he had the intent to squeeze her to death, but he didn't. Instead, he just toned it down a deal as he exchanged blows with her. Neither of them were really trying of course though, only going about a casual spar, though casual in this case could be left up to interpretation.
