Since Ashadakar was centuries old, Akriel guessed it did make sense he'd have everything he wanted. Not telling anyone or his newly learned magic was a fair trade "Of course." he stood and wrapped up the remains of his cookie so he could snack on it later. If he waste food the spirit of the nuns that watched him would smite him the second he stepped out of the building. Akriel led the way to the door. Once they were out he looked to Ashadakar and asked "Where are you planning to go?"
"I'll be selling what I can, then going to the market place and buying things that catch my eye. Since there are so many people here you often see things you can't find anywhere else. Then after that I'll continue travelling and sell those." Eri explained, stretching out her wings "Sometimes you'll find merchants who have no idea what they have and can get a deal on something rare. It takes a lot of looking and patience, but it's worth it when you resell it for five times the price you bought it for."

Bukrath could respect her patience for such a thing, her persistence at the deal. And she seemed to have a good enough sense at it too.

"It's why I'm good at my job." Eri grinned "And it's not my fault some people don't have the skills necessary to see something good when they have it." she paused before adding "Speaking of jobs, I assume you have one? Or perhaps you're just an adventurer, journeying and taking jobs when you can find them?" it wasn't exactly easy to get a read on Buk. Normally people would have obvious traits and mannerisms that connected them to a job or hobby. Other than his weapons Buk was much harder to read.

Except this little agreement we have. I've always lived off the land with my family and my tribe." Unless chores were included, his life had been an extremely simple one. Bukrath glanced away at mentioning his family- a topic he hoped she wouldn't press.

𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 Dakar chuckled softly. "Away from where I've been, I suppose." Since he didn't have anywhere to be ever, he usually just liked taking walks. "Maybe we'll end up somewhere interesting, hm?" Opening the door for Akriel to walk through first, his nose twitched as he walked back out into the busy day, ears flicking as the sound of voice immediately increased some. "Do you live anywhere?" he then asked as they walked out. He wasn't asking where, if Akriel actually did, but just merely if he had a home. He looked recently kept, so maybe he made stops somewhere. "If not, you can stay where I live while you learn what I teach you, if you so wish." It was foreign even to him to even teach his magic, but he would only reach the rabbit the basics before letting him move on to his next curiosity.

Her ears flicked with interest, but she didn't press on that matter. However, this had given her more insight into what kind of person Buk was "Well if you're lookin' for one there are always people hiring in town. And maybe if you do a good job I might even hire you for future travels." she joked, raising an eyebrow and waving her claw dismissively "But really, ya won't run out of options in Crowns Hand. If ya prove to be a good guard there are wealthy people always passing through looking for powerful animals."

"I used to live in an orphanage, but I've long since moved on from there. These days I find myself wandering between inns." Akriel would have liked to stay close so he could learn and ask questions, so when Dakar suggested this his ear perked up "I think staying close would be most effective for teaching, especially for something as hard to learn as old magic. If I won't bother you too much I'll take you up on your offer."

He smiled. To butter him up for future business relations was expected. But it seemed like more- like she actually cared, too. It was a pleasant feeling. "I would hope-" He came abruptly to a stop. There was a small group of men ahead. It was a bottleneck, hills on either side, and they seemed to be bandits, raiders, awaiting some poor soul like them. With no hesitance in his voice, he commanded, "Get behind me."

Eri watched Buk with some interest. On any normal day she's simply fly over them out of sight. But since she was paying Buk with food to take care of problems exactly like this she'd let him do what he wished "Don't get yourself killed out there." she said lightly, not exactly minding as she'd get his weapons if he did. But after chatting with him she guessed she'd miss the company if he was killed off so easily. The bandits were ones she'd seen around these parts before.

𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 Dakar nodded slowly. "It wouldn't be of trouble to me at all, Akriel. We can have you moved there as soon as you like." He honestly didn't mind because he knew it would not be permanent, or too long at least. Akriel seemed like a bright man, and that sometimes made for quick learners. "That power you were telling me about might help with the speed of your learning though." It would allow for the rabbit to understand it faster than any average person ever could, even if only a little bit. Looking ahead as they walked, he asked "Is there anywhere you actually needed to go before we head over, or will my home be our next stop, hm?" He was a little curious as to what his reaction to his dwelling would be. To mortals it would be quite... something, and he smiles at the thought. Glancing down at Akriel, he waited to see what he would want to do, if any other errands needed to be run.

There were no words traded between either side. Wrath knew why they were they. They knew he knew. That meant there was no need for fake pleasantries, no need for deception- and both knew there wouldn't be a chance of just walking by.
Unsheathing his sword, Bukrath stepped forward. The most foolish, a young looking rhino out to prove himself, grabbed his spear and charged Bakruth. This was the easiest kill- a parry with his sword sent the spear-tip straight up, while the rhino's charge brought him right into the follow-up slash.
This expertise put the other two on edge, and they readied their sword and mace respectively. They approached slowly, this Tiger and Ram, and circled until on either side of Bukrath. This was, as he slid into a defensive stance, the moment they attacked, simultaneously going for his head. Bukrath spared a swift glance to confirm both their targets, and realizing their sloppy swings, capitalized by ducking, stabbing the sword-wielding tiger in the gut, and slamming head-first into the chest of the ram. While the tiger fell to his knees, Bukrath rolled off, unsheathed his axe, and slammed it upon the winded ram's neck. A clean kill.
It was all over in under a minute. Sweat and blood dripped from Bukrath's clothes, but he was grinning. All three, easy kills. He glanced back to his companion for confirmation.

"There is nothing I have planned for today. I expected to be doing more research, but after all that has happened it's obviously no longer necessary. For now." the rabbit followed Dakar, wondering where the lion lived "Do you often spend your time here?" he asked. There was much to do here, and even mythics would need entertainment. Akriel knew if all he did was sit around he'd get bored. Unless of course he had a good book in hand.
Eri flitted over to the now dead group and poked at them experimentally "Good job. You really got em'." Eri started to rummage around in their bags, occasionally pulling out items she deemed worthy enough to take. The majority of the stuff was likely not even theirs, so she didn't feel bad taking it "You must have trained a lot, and since it's technically your kill feel free to take stuff as well." if Buk happened to find money he could pay her off for the meat, and Eri wondered vaguely if he'd choose to do that.

He approached the Tiger, who seemed the leader, unsheathing his sword from the bandit's chest. It was still alive, and Bukrath vaguely considered giving him a warrior's prayer. He leaned in and whispered a question, but the Tiger could not reply, and so he gave it up. He grabbed the bag off the animal, full of money, but after rummaging, found something near 30 silver pieces. He swiftly stowed it away, hidden.

Eri patted down the last one, taking the small bag of money on them before straightening and looking to her travel companion "Well I'm done. If you're ready to go we can continue on. For bandits who sit her often I though they'd have somethin' better." either way she could sell their weapons and best pieces of armor. So in the end it was a win for her.

He took the small dagger off the Rhino, finding it to be engraved with some set of runes. Interesting. "Would you like me to carry the weapons? That mace is certainly too big for you." He asked, already lifting the sword from the tiger's open hands. The Rhino's spear wasn't worth more than the wood and steel it was made out of.

"I've learned a few things in my time about carrying far more than I should. I'll be alright." she set the mace so it was hanging horizontally from her bag. It would balance out with the rest of the weight on her bag. With the other weapons and armor she probably wouldn't be able to fly, so it was a good thing she was already walking. Eri was deceptively strong. After years of walking, flying, and hauling her wares she'd become stronger than your average bat.

𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 Dakar simply nodded as Akriel spoke. Then, he looked around. Suddenly, everyone just stopped moving. Still as statues, a bird's wings slowing to a complete stop, yet still in the air. The lion wasn't slowing then down, but rather using his ability to move without time, though lending the effects to Akriel for the moment too. Then, he held up a palm, and held it forward, though it was stopped as if met with solid surface. A portal then broke open, making a tear starting from beneath his hand before widening. On the other end seemed to be a place of plentiful plantlife, with a forest to the west and plains to the east. There was a beach-like terrain in the north, though you wouldn't see it from here. The sky was a bit different though. It was as if someone took the starts and planets and made the much, much larger than the little circles you'd usually see, swirling around with little bright dots of stars and swirls everywhere all shades of purple for the actual sky. Currently, everything lazily drifted around in a constantly moving canvas, and Dakar stepped aside to let Akriel go through first.

He shrugged. If his charge wanted to carry it, why not. It made him weigh a little less, and meaning he was just that little bit faster in battle. Either way, as long as they had it, she could make some money off it. And if the question of its origin came up, bandits was an easy excuse. He began walking, stopped to let her come to his side, and then continued.

Akriels eyes widened as the magic started to work. He turned his head to watch Dakar, the information and working behind it were hard to comprehend. It almost made his head hurt. Blinking and turning away he said "Stunning. I didn't think that magic would be able to do something like this."
"The rest of the walk should be relatively quiet. Unless some more bandits have started to come up. With the road being so close to the capital you'd have to be crazy to try and steal from people here." Eri said, talking without really expecting a reply, but not wanting it to fall silent again.

Bukrath nodded with a small 'harumph.' There wasn't much for him to add, so he tried another topic. "That looked like your first time watching a fight up close, at least in a while. Do you usually fly away?"

"Usually. I can be pretty dangerous myself, but my attacks are best when you don't expect them." a quick claw at the throat and someone was down. But if they saw her coming, or attacked her first they'd be guarded "Plus I'd rather fly away and know for a fact everything I'm carrying to trade will be safe. My father would always say that to a merchant, their wares are more important than anything else. Even things like pride."

He scoffed. "Your father said that, ah? I bet mine would eat yours for breakfast." A laugh then escaped him at the childish taunt. "But of course, he was likely a good enough merchant that he could make me buy an extra set of clothes for twice their worth." It said something, that he would admit being inferior in some way. The brutal north bred honesty, it seems.

"He probably could, but only if he caught him. My father was one of the fastest bats I've ever met. And an even better merchant than I am." she opened her own wings for affect before continuing "He taught me all I know. But he still has more experience than I do. I plan to be better than him one day. It's a personal goal of mine. I refuse to lose." Eri was competitive to a fault, and that was one of the big reasons she left home.

𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 Dakar hummed thoughtfully. "If you are a religious man, you would like to think that time and space are forces of the Priestess. Direct branches of her entity. Then, it would not seem so far-fetched to believe such things." Not even he had the answer for that, if such a being even existed other than a name and less than two pages of information, as if he went looking he always found himself turned around and back where he started. Hmph. Looking around at his home, he smiled at the occasional bird call or when a new canvas of sky came to be. "If you wish to leave, you must tell me, as you wwon'tbe able to use portal magic for a long while, to exit this realm anyway, though don't think that I must go with you. Just to actually let you leave, for now until you learn. Then you will be able to transport yourself." He began walking toward the forest area, looking down at the box held upright and neatly in his hand. "My home is this way, and has spare rooms. You can settle in one of them and stay there while you learn."

Hey Smokey, you think Eri and Gordon would know of each other since they both work as merchants??)
"If I let him beat me I'd be a disgrace to the family! Well, not a disgrace per say, but since he's taught me everything he knows it would be a waste to now grown and add onto it." Eri figured that if she expanded on her knowledge and learned things, and traveled to places even her own family hadn't been to she'd be right on track to beat him.
"I can't wait to start learning." Akriel breathed. He had know the uses of magic were nearly endless, but never did he think that portal magic, some sort of cloaking magic probably, and many more could be used at such a grand scale. The rabbit stayed in his spot for a moment more to get a good look at everything before he hurried after Dakar, matching pace with the lion as they walked towards Dakars house.

He glanced away, eyes softened despite his hard exterior. "Ah, yes, I guess you're right." And what had he been taught? His father had taught naught, and quite honestly ignored him. No, she and he were of completely different families, of completely different lives. Both seeking Crown's Hand. And was that not beautiful in and of itself? And he even found himself enjoying her company.
