"you think you can scare me? how naive." ︳ ︳ O L E A N D E R"Drew" Gender - Male Sexuality - Pansexual (female preference) Age - 24 (2,400) Species - Southern Magma Dragon Alignment - True Neutral / Chaotic Neutral Looks - Oleander as many could tell most by his temperament is a dragon. A big, scary, mean dragon. Oleander, when not using his magic to masquerade as a human is a pretty large black dragon with brown eyes and red, nearly magma colored markings. He has feathers that connect to certain parts of his body that will fluff when he is threatened which makes him look even bigger and scarier to other. His claws are retractable and are mainly used for climbing the volcanoes his species makes home in. His wings, due to him being an aristocrat, are infused with gold which was obviously cut out of his wings and replaced, he also wears gold jewelry and accessories in both forms. Though as a human Oleander is fairly tall, ranging at 5'11 and kinda thin, many people are surprised when they grab him since he does have a good chunk of muscle and a lot of power in his limbs. He generally wears fancy clothing that are more than likely covered in a black robe-like garment. Personality - Despite the many stories told from the cradle most dragons and other related species are not hostile towards humans at all and instead are quite fascinated by them. Oleander fits under that category, he enjoys the company of humans and is actually quite friendly and charismatic towards others. Though at times he can be aloof and not so pleasant to be around, but that can be solved with something to eat and a quick nap. He does have an obsession over people that he likes, much like how dragons hoard treasure, he hoards people. He can get easily jealous over something simple and isn't a fan of his friends favoring others, and if you decide to date him? Oh be prepared to lose all contact, you have such a small lifespan, it must be stayed with him! History - Oleander was born to two loving parents and a sister. When they first made the trip to the capital of the wyverns to visit the royal family as ambassadors for the Hawaiian Magma Dragons. When they got there it was during the war between the royal family and the revolutionaries. His family had chosen to fight, as he was the youngest he couldn't fight and was given the news that all of his family had died in the war. He was then raised by the royal family for the rest of his adolescence before he had been marked as an aristocrat. Growing up losing his family gave him a fear of abandonment and possessive qualities. Though he knew his family would've had to leave him soon anyway but it was the feeling of people being ripped away that freaked him. When he makes friends every friend of theirs felt like a threat to him. He never felt good enough and was afraid that people would leave him. But despite this he is very relaxed and actually is very calm and rarely annoyed. Living with alone he is very comfortable with staying in the capital instead of his home due to the fear of how he would be treated.Other - More than likely a delusional obsessive yandere. He doesn't understand why you're so mad at being kept in his house.. is it the decor? He will admit it is kinda bad. - Likes pet names, you will never have only one. - Despises dogs, you can have any pet but a dog, he might give in on a big dog but he hates small dogs.photo of Liam Samuels

Vɪᴛɪᴀᴛᴜs // i love me some starters Oleander peacefully moved along the capital's streets, happy to enjoy the bazaar with the humans he looked at a few stalls happily. Picking out some sweet food he grinned and turned to leave the stall and head back to the main street. As other decorations flew past him, mostly party poppers he laughed as he gently covered his food with a large wing. Happy to be in company of others he saw a young man who was surprisingly alone for the event. Catching up he smiled, hoping he didn't come off as creepy. "Ah! Hello!" He chirped as he looked at him. "Are you okay? You looked.. kinda lonely I guess, and I want to be a good host!" He joked cheerily.

Arien hadn't expected anyone to come up to him during the festival and interact with him willingly. It wasn't as if the young male was a horrible individual, he was quite the opposite: with flushed cheeks and a smile that seemed to make him appear eternally grateful to whomever caused that expression on his face. Him being despised by everyone else was an amusing thought and certainly was not the case at all. His father just had a shoddy reputation with the rest of the town and therefore the family was shunned in its entirety, including Arien. Some individuals took pity on the poor boy and treated him gently with kind, softspoken words, but those were only a handful. Mostly everyone else steered clear of the Zypheryl name.
He considered himself lucky and counted all his blessings for being able to work at the bakery and have some form of socialization with everyone else in the kingdom (even if it was more of a one-sided interaction on his part).
So it was hard not to imagine his surprise when he was spoken to, dragged out of his thoughts and eyes meeting the figure standing before him, flinching slightly in his alarm. He had been wandering around the festival, not having to go into work for the day because his face would be "bad for business" and did not want to stay at home to listen to his father's deep-throated snores. "H-Hello." he responded, biting at his lower lip because the other seemed vaguely familiar but Arien just couldn't place his finger on it. "Oh.. uh, I'm doing okay, everything's just so loud and.. well, overwhelming I suppose?"
It was then that the last of the other's words finally caught up to him and he squeaked in alarm, bowing slightly in recognition of the other's higher status, inwardly cursing at himself for being so rude.

Flushing at Arien's slight bow Oleander gently grabbed his arm. "Ah.. no need to bow. I dislike such formalities.. especially from someone so pretty" He slightly teased, trying to ease the boy's tension. "Though looking at you I understand why you're alone.. I don't like to let bloodlines define us.. the Goddess knows what would be said about me if that was so." He said gently rubbing his neck as he let go of his arm before offering the sweet popcorn. "If you'd like I can accompany you. Nobody deserves to walk a festival alone after all!"

A light pink tinge colored his cheeks when the other called him 'cute,' never have been described in such a manner (to his face, at least. he was sure he had heard some of the older women whispering and glancing in his direction, but he didn't know if their words were sweet or full of poison). He had to force himself to not flinch again when his arm was grabbed, used to physical activity that often ended with bruises and reddened marks. He wouldn't make such a thing so blatantly obvious in public and he had to bite down on his lower lip to calm himself.
He glanced down at the popcorn that was offered to him, a soft "No thank you," escaping his lips and just catching the last of Oleander's words. Of course, his heart jumped excitedly at the idea. It had been forever since anyone had shown him such kindness and willingness to be in his presence. He was about to say yes, even despite the fact that the other was a stranger (a stranger with a high status as well), before he had a sinking feeling in his gut. "I'm.. I'm sure you have much more important matters to attend to, no? Then hang around with a commonfolk like me." He laughed softly, an attempt to make it seem humorous and light.

Seeming slightly offended by the idea he grinned, "Of course not!" He noticed the panic and noted it with a hint of angered sadness. He extended a hand kindly, "Though only if you'd wish, I don't want to force you rose petal." Oleander really didn't want to scare him, he knew his reputation and didn't want to hurt him as well. His father would get a firm talking to once he was alone.

He blinked slowly, staring down at the extended hand apprehensively. It wasn't bad for him to say yes, right? After all, the other had been the one to offer his presence to the younger male, so who was Arien to say no? The thought of hurting the other's reputation lingered in his mind if he was accompanied by the dragon, but his desire to socialize brushed any thought to the side. He deserved to act selfishly, sometimes. Tentatively, he took the other's hand, movements slow and cautious, as if Oleander was going to take it away and laugh at the other for being so naive that he would want to be around someone like him.
"Is there anywhere special you had in mind?" he questioned, still unsure if this was reality and he was just daydreaming somewhere in the village. He didn't want to take the lead on this, mainly because he didn't want to seem rude and ungrateful.

Blinking a few times he cursed himself for not thinking ahead of time. "I'm.. honestly just walking around but, if you wanna leave the event we can go to a lake nearby, it's really nice and I think you'd might like it.." He said shrugging, "But whatever you wanna do is fine with me rose petal." Had he noticed the pet name? No, no he hadn't but even if he did he wouldn't have cared, he called everyone cute names.. so what if his really fit? Okay.. slow down Oleander, don't be weird... again.

Arien tilted his head, intrigued and excited at the prospect of the lake. He had always heard of it from others that were close to his age, giggling and laughing in the bakery as they picked up their sweets before the trip down to the water. He only went once, vaguely remembering his dad bringing him down because of an important event. He didn't remember what it was for the life of him, but he supposed it wasn't exactly important if it didn't stick in his memory.
"The lake sounds nice." He smiled slightly, not wanting to seem ungrateful. It was at this time that he finally noticed the pet name, but only kept quiet and didn't dare mention it. It wasn't like he hated it, but it was odd, hearing it come from a stranger's mouth and directed towards him. It wasn't a bad thing, he supposed, especially when he was called worse by his own flesh and blood.

Grinning brightly he paused and flapped his wings in a silent question, he didn't just want to randomly pick him up. Oh no, he couldn't scare him like that. "It would be faster if.. yeah.." Maybe offering to fly someone you just met is a bad idea... what if he thought he'd steal him! Nervousness showed on his face as he realized his blunder he turned red and folded them back. "If you.. feel safe I guess." Way to go Oleander. Way to go.

He was surprised, to say the least, at the other's offer to fly there, claiming that it was a much faster route. And truth be told, he believed that. Of course wings would be faster than legs, but... he had just met the other, right?? What if his kindness was just a facade and Arien was lured to his own demise? He shook those thoughts out of his head, believing that it was okay to trust the other, his gut said so. And if he was wrong, well, then Arien was willing to take that chance.
"That's okay, um.. are you sure? I don't want to be a hindrance or anything.." he trailed off, tone hesitant.

he nodded, face still red. "yeah! it's fine!" he said flaring them out, it felt so nice to have the sun warm them, especially the aching scars around the gold. moving slowly and carefully he gently picked him up bridal style, grinned at him, and then flew off into the air, looking around to scan the area he flew over to the lake, gently banking before making sure his feet were firmly on the ground before snapping the wings closed and gently set him down, keeping a hand on his arm to make sure he doesn't fall. "tadah! here it is!"

He let out a soft squeak of surprise when the other easily picked him up bridal style, eyes sliding shut as he held on to the other's shoulders for dear life. He wasn't fearful of heights, but the idea of flying with no safety was a bit terrifying. He could feel the wind brushing through his hair and hadn't realized that he was holding his breath until he felt a bit light-headed upon landing. Letting out a shaky breath as he was gently placed down, he finally opened his eyes, exhaling heavily. He appreciated the arm on his hand to steady him, mainly because he felt as if he was going to fall forwards without it. "That was.. interesting." he murmured weakly, glancing up at the other with a pallor to his face.

chuckling he let go of his arm slowly before relaxing it, "it gets some used too.. funny story but i once fell into a tree as a child for half a year i refused to fly. my parents and sister had to fight to convince me to fly again." he said before something in his eyes darkened at the mention of his family. looking to the lake he gestured to it, "nobody ever comes here at this time, so you won't have to worry about people being rude and such, and if they do i'll scare them away" he grinned, the joke falling weakly as he chuckled. he regretted bringing them up immediately.

He blinked, realizing the sudden change of tone in the conversation, sensing the other's unease. It made him feel slightly uncomfortable but he just brushed it to the side, glancing around. He felt that it was best not to continue that part of the conversation, mainly due to how odd Oleander was suddenly acting. "It's really pretty here," he murmured, inching closer towards the lake with a sort of childish interest. After all, as mentioned before, it had been such a long time since he was last here, no wonder he had such an avid interest towards the water. "And thank you," he added, "For saying you'll stick up for me. No one.. has really said such a thing." Arien's cheeks tinged slightly at this admittance, albeit embarrassed for seeming so weak and friendless.

oleander was surprised and had an odd emotion cross over his face, nobody.. stuck up for him? he bit down on his cheek to stop himself from getting angry at that. "good thing you have me then!" he said with an actual smile, he walked forward and he spread his wings again to sun them. if he was alone he'd shift and lay on the nearby giant smooth rock that is always warm. removing a scrap of leather from his pocket he tied his hair into a messy bun as he stretched the large wings. "did you know, that the process of being marked as an aristocrat is made to be very painful? it's so you're used to sacrificing yourself for your people. i think some people sacrificed enough already." he said looking up as he remembered his sister. "there's a reason i stay in the capital.. i can't face my people after.. after my parents died in the war."

He bit his lower lip, brow furrowing slightly in confusion, unsure of where this was coming from. It wasn't a nuisance to him, really, because he enjoyed how the other trusted him so quickly and readily. No one really trusted him, always turning away when he approached, whispering loudly and speaking in degrading tones toward him. It was a nice change, in a way, though a little odd. But he shrugged that off, curious on what else the other had to say. "Oh.. I'm sorry to hear that." Arien blinked, at a loss for words. Comforting people was never his strong point.

he shrugged, "i'm just trying to say that people shouldn't be judged by their family, i'm loyal to the royals while my family fought for the revolutionists. you can be good, i believe you are actually. good and wonderful.. and really nice" he said his face slightly reddening as he paused, "and i guess really pretty too"

Arien let out a soft squeak of surprise at the such forward words, never really been spoken to in such a way before. Of course, as stated before, he never really was spoken to to begin with, so this was all so new to him. It wasn't unwelcome of course, he flourished under positive attention, he just was unsure of how to respond. His cheeks flushed with slight embarrassment and shock, shuffling his position a little. "T-thank you," he murmured, shuffling his position a little to face the other. "You're much too kind to me."

Oleander hid his face behind his wing as he groaned, "I'm sorry I shouldnt have said that it's just very few people really stick around and I wanna be there for you and protect you.. from everything." he said as he slowly folded his wing and looked up at him shyly. He didn't want to make him feel weird but he was being sincere.

Arien laughed softly, a tad bit awkward, and shuffled his feet slightly once more, focusing on his scuffed up boots in order to find something to focus on. He knew that his face was probably as red as a tomato with how forward the other was being. Of course, the fact that he had such limited interaction with everyone besides his father made him extremely socially awkward. Perhaps if he was raised in a different situation, he wouldn't be acting in such a manner. "That's really nice of you, though." He managed to mumble out, looking back up from his shoes at the other, finding Oleander's similar shyness a bit adorable if he was going to be perfectly honest.
"I really appreciate you saying that. Like I've said, no one's ever wanted to protect me." He laughed softly, a bit awkward and fidgety with his movements. "It's a nice change from what I have to hear." He shot the other a genuine smile, one not forced or burdened by his insecurities.

Grinning he looked at the water and looked back at Arien, "Hey.. you wanna go swimming?" Oleander said with a grin, already taking off his jacket. "I'm hopping in."

Arien blinked in surprise, taken aback briefly by the other's sudden openness and desire to swim. It wasn't his first thought upon their arrival at the body of water, and it seemed fairly cold even despite the warm weather. He supposed the other didn't really have to worry about warmth, however, being a dragon and all and having that high internal temperature. He shifted his body pressure evenly throughout his body, glancing at the water once more before looking at Oleander. His face reddened when he noticed the other beginning to undress and looked away almost immediately. "I.. I really don't know how to." he managed to stutter out, still not looking in the other's direction. "I was never really given the opportunity to learn so..." He trailed off, shrugging. He didn't really have the opportunity to indulge in some easygoing pastimes, especially given the circumstances of his family.

Its okay! //
Gasping in offence as he chucked his shirt somewhere he smiled, “Well darling, consider this your lucky day! I’ll teach if you’d like?” He had half a thought to take him home after swimming to dry and put it aside as a good idea. The idea of the male in his house nearly made him smile, he liked it. He shouldn’t have to go back home to his house.

Arien shuffled slightly, face still a light pink from embarrassment and his own modesty. The idea of being able to learn how to swim, to do something that his father prohibited him from enjoying because he had to "find work" at such a young age, made joy and a bit of excitement swell within him. "If that's okay?" He questioned, unable to keep the hope from his voice. He wasn't sure that he would exactly be uncomfortable with dressing down, having never really shown anyone his bare skin and had it out on display, but his excitement was starting to overpower such a thing.

He grinned and nodded, “I’ll turn around, the water is pretty colored from the springs so if it bothers you nobody has to see.” Oleander himself was excited and couldn’t wait to teach him. Jumping in the water he messed around as he waited for Arien to join.

He hesitated, watching the other enjoy himself as he splashed around in the water. Oleander was right, it was colored so not much would be seen, would it still be wrong with him if he kept his undergarments on?? He hoped not, having found the idea of his entire bare body being on display, even with the cover-up of the water. Glancing at the other's direction once last time, he hurried to undress even despite leaving his undergarments on, just in case. He bit his lower lip as he inched closer to the water, dipping a toe in hesitantly. Water was a fright to him, to be honest, only because he didn't know how to swim and could potentially drown.

Laying on his back he grinned as he idly watched him, the fabric of his loose pants dragging across him alongside the slow ripple of the water, "Don't worry, I'll keep you safe." He said softly, nearly a reassuring purr. He meant it too, the idea of him being hurt killed Oleander a bit.

He glanced over in Oleander's direction, the other's words sending a sense of confidence to ripple through him and with no more hesitations, he made his way into the water. Of course, it wasn't as boisterous and excited as Oleander's was, seeing as how he was still terrified in a way.He let out a small sound of surprise at the temperature, not expecting it to be as warm as he had thought. He believed the water was going to be a frigid temperature, but it was actually pretty bearable. He struggled slightly, only because he could barely touch the bottom of the shore floor with his feet, as short as he was.
