Ria Miller stood in the airport, waiting at the meeting point to greet all of the contestants for this year’s show. The cameras were rolling around her, and they would probably simply cut down the footage down to show the contestants meeting one another and getting first reactions. Not much actual footage for the show would be from this.
She was dressed in a glamorous but summery dress, elegant and light with a floral pattern. Her hair fell in waves like liquid honey to her chest. Her eyes were lined and her lips coloured their customary dark red. Everything about her had been perfectly polished; it was almost like she was a doll or something.
But she could already see the first of the contestants arriving, a woman wearing sunglasses and leaning against a wall. Victoria approached her, swinging her hips as she walked towards Amelia, the cameras following as the woman shook the contestant’s hand.
“Ah, Amelia Thorne, correct? You’re the first contestant to arrive. Once the others have arrived I will fully brief everyone on what is going to be happening. But for now...”
She paused for a moment as she stepped out of shot to grab a backpack, emerging back into the shot to hand it over to Amelia with a dazzling smile.
“Here is all of the equipment that you will be provided with for your time in the jungle. I’d advise you to use it wisely and be creative; this will not be enough for everything you will need to do in the jungle.”
(Okay this is super short but I feel like there’s not much I can do for the moment until the others arrive)

Jason never really cared much about reality TV. Fantasy, Historical, and comedic shows were his thing, like Black Sails, Vikings, Game of Thrones, Galavant, Whose Line is it Anyway, etc. But he jumped at the opportunity to appear on TV, even if it was a Reality Show. How often do you get this chance, anyways? He wasn’t one to turn down such a golden opportunity, and he wasn’t one to turn down a challenge. So, the last few months, leading up to now, he has been training. He’s been conditioning his body so that he was in the best shape that he could possibly be in, and eating less to train his body to cope with smaller meals, because he knew there probably wouldn’t be any fine dining. He has also been reading a few books and watching some videos about bushcraft and survival techniques. Jason knew he wouldn’t have much trouble handling the weather, he grew up in Kansas after all, home to some of the most bi-polar weather around, so he’s seen it all. There’s a little saying in Kansas: ‘You know you live in Kansas when it snows on your sunburn’. Get the idea, yet?
Fast forward to now, three months later.
Jason Johnson sat on a plane, headphones on as he decided to watch a few episodes of The Jungle from previous seasons, trying to get some last minute information, and trying to get an idea about any of the challenges that they will go through. This was a great opportunity for him to put his name out there to the world, even if he was the first loser, though he did not plan on losing. As the saying goes, ‘There’s no such thing as bad publicity’, right? One of the flight attendants then showed up, offering him a glass of whiskey. He picked up the glass, taking a sip, and nodding his head towards her in thanks. ’Theres no such thing as bad publicity? Tell that to the celebrities and political figures who were a part of some pretty bad scandals over the last few years.’ He thought to himself, taking a sip from his glass, trying to do his best impersonation of the Kermit the Frog Meme. ’But that’s none of my business.’
After countless hours flying, hours of Jason switching between watching episodes of the reality television series he is now a part of, and taking naps to make sure he was well rested for the beginning of his quest to victory, the plane landed at an airport. Jason put his headphones and phone away, grabbing his bag that he packed, and exited the plane. He didn’t bring much luggage, just a few different items of spare clothing and miscellaneous other items, a pair of army styled combat boots, as well as a rain poncho in case there was a downpour. He was currently wearing a gray and red striped tank top, a pair of jean shorts, tennis shoes, his gold necklace, a pair of sunglasses, and finally a simple black baseball cap. He looked around, easily spotting a filming crew and Ria Miller, the host of the show. Taking a deep breath, he put a smile on his face and walked towards the group.

Amelia ThorneSomethin' with a little more edge and a little more pain...
Whilst contestants would have been harder to spot, the familiar face of Victoria, Ria Miller was far easier. That and she was rather drastically given away by the swarm of camera crew that trailed after her. The dark-haired woman's posture didn't change, most would play up to the cameras the instant they arrived, but not her. She would leave that to the drama queens and failing actresses who thought this would genuinely further their career.
The presenter had reached her and Amelia shook her hand in return, a coy smile turning up her lips, painted in a deep plum colour that complimented her pale skin tone and gave her an almost gothic look. A slight dip of her head confirmed she was who Ria believed her to be with the admission of her being the first to arrive. This wasn't surprising, Amelia hated being late and by extension hated people who thought it acceptable to arrive late. Being early gave her the benefit of watching, whilst relatively unobserved by those that would become her competition. People could be quite dumb when they thought no one was watching.
She was handed a rucksack, simple and utilitarian. Weighty enough that it would be inconvenient to carry but not so heavy that it would hinder her at all. Despite her slight figure, she was quite strong, unconcerned by a bit of heavy lifting here and there. She would look through it later, when she could take proper stock of her survival tools, with the feeling she would need to get familiar with them very quickly. She shouldered the bag saying nothing, knowing there was no point in Ria explaining anything further until the other contestants arrived. She was just thinking along these lines when a figure caught her eye.
The male was tall and tanned, a striped tank top that stretched across a muscular frame. There was no way this guy wasn't a contestant. She highly doubted many chiselled good looking men came through this little airport unless they were part of this show. Her thoughts were quickly confirmed as he took stock of the camera crew and plastered a smile on to his face before approaching. It was hard not to be interested in the people she would meet, from so many different walks of life with interesting stories to tell. Even though she didn't really consider herself a people person she was looking forward to the weeks to come. Not that you could tell from the look of bored disinterest that seemed to come naturally to her.

Asher slowly got off the plane and looked around. He couldn't believe he was actually going to be on the Jungle. He and his friends would watch the show all the time and point out how they would do each challenge. Usually, they would just make fun of the whiny and spineless city folk who didn't know what they were doing. His friend was the one who suggested they should try and audition. Asher decided to play along thinking that he would't actually get on the show. However, when he got the email and letter, he was ecstatic! His family was proud of him and his friends started giving him all sorts of advice. What he found interesting was he was suppose to play the role of a charmer. Asher knew he was attractive but wasn't sure if he could win everyone else's over.
Asher notices a few people standing near by and wanders over to them. He takes a deep breath and rolled his shoulders back. "Howdy!" He called out his southern accent pretty evident. He flashed a smile and nodded his head to the other contestants.

Amelia Thorne Oh, she's sweet but a psycho...
The group was growing, another male approached, this one with a rather appealing southern accent that reminded her that all of the contestants really would be from all over the world. Her own voice rang with a soft Irish lilt, faded slightly by the time she had spent working across Europe. She studied this newcomer from the inconspicuous safety of her sunglasses, tall and well built, not as muscular as the first. He had the kind of figure that told her he worked outside, backed up by his sun kissed skin. "Howdy" She replied with an amused smile flicking across her features. She had planned to keep to herself for a while but the lure of that greeting had been too much. "I didn't know people actually said that." Perhaps that was indicative of the culture differences, but it reminded her of corny westerns with cowboys rounding up longhorn cattle and other dumb clichés. Still it was oddly endearing, if they had all been from the same walks of life it would make for slow viewing.

Jason approached the two ladies, shaking both of their hands with a firm, but not too firm, handshake. He offered both of them smiles, and was prepared to say something as a voice rang out in greeting behind him. He could instantly tell that it was a southern accent, which interested him. ’Perhaps this guy was raised up on a farm, like I was.’ He thought to himself as he turned his head to look at Asher over his shoulder. “It’s been a long time since I’ve ever heard anyone use the word ‘Howdy’.” He said with a small chuckle. He also had a country accent, though it wasn’t a southern one, more of a midwestern one.
He studied the man who approached him, telling by the looks of him that he has worked on the farm. He nodded his head towards him in greeting, offering him a firm handshake. “It’s nice to meet y’all.” He stated casually, looking back over to Ria and Amelia. “And where are you lovely ladies from? I think I hear a hint of an Irish accent.” Jason said to Amelia.
Even though he called them ‘lovely ladies’, and they were extremely beautiful, Jason thought that, out of all of them gathered already, those two women were the most dangerous. Both of them looked like they could kill you with a stare. And if that didn’t work, he was sure they wouldn’t have trouble finding other ways to get what they wanted. Jason planned on making friends though, maybe to be sure he wasn’t on their bad sides. Because you never knew who you would need at any moment, and you wouldn’t want to anger the wrong person.

Ria smiled as two gentlemen approached, shaking both of their hands. Good, more ofnthe group were here
“Welcome,” she said before looking between all three “Amelia, this is Jason and Asher. Guys, meet Amelia.”
When Jason asked where they were from, Victoria offered a smile.
“I was born in Paris and my parents moved to California when I was ten,” Victoria said with a smile.
Her accent was a little weaker because of that, a little hint of another language there. Her actual name wasn’t even Victoria Miller; it was Victoire Meunier. But in order to fit in better on TV she had translated her name into the English equivalent when she started her reality TV career and eventually gave herself the nickname Ria.
Once again, however, she swept a sharp, perceptive gaze over those gathered before her.
“Alright, well we are still waiting for the rest of the party to join us, but for the moment I have your backpacks, Jason and Asher. Now, obviously I am the host and the presenter of the show. But I will be around all of the time. I may meet you at certain points in the jungle, or I may communicate with you via text messages, letters, or by other means, therefore I will not actually be with the group all of the time, but you will still be able to receive messages from me. Oh, and a little piece of advice from someone who has been in your position; make alliances early on but be careful who you trust.”

Julia had actually been dated by her brother to apply to the show as a joke. She’d gone along with it, surprised when she actually had been chosen to be one of the contestants on the next season. She felt rather prepared for the show. She’d grown up on a small farm, constantly working with the animals that taught her strength and patience. While she wasn’t exactly a survivalist, she did have a little experience in the practice of building fires and forts and hunting. She just hoped her experience would actually work out for her in the end.
She just felt so... out of her element as the plane came to a slow descent and finally landed at the airport. It didn’t take long to find the group of people she needed to. The swarming of the camera made it kind of obvious. Ria wasn’t hard to pick out and then her eyes slowly roamed the contestants as she tried to size them up. They all looked like they had some sort of advantage over her, whether it was physical strength or the drive to do whatever they had to to win. Still, Julia took a deep breath and forced a smile to her face as she approached the group.
“Hey guys,” she said, trying to make her voice as cheerful as possible. “My name is Julia.” She wasn’t exactly used to making friends. In fact, she often didn’t talk to strangers unless they talked to her first. However, she knew allies would greatly increase her chances of winning and going home a loser would only encourage teasing from her brother. She was just in time to catch the last of Ria’s words and she nodded at the portion about alliances. For the moment, she focused on the other two guys that were standing there. They at least looked friendlier than the other girl. Much less intimidating to start off with.

As Victoria was giving the backpacks to Jason and Asher and explaining about alliances, another girl showed up and introduced herself, and Ria nodded. She shook the girl’s hand
“Ah, yes. Julia, this is Asher, Jason and Amelia. We will hopefully be able to get moving on the next phase of your journey soon, so I’m going to give you this - it’s a backpack with the tools and supplies you’re provided with for your time in the jungle. As I explained to Amelia, it’s advisable to be creative and to use your supplies wisely. Chances are they won’t he enough for everything you need unless you think outside the box.”
This was going to be an intense time for not only the contestants but also for Ria. The woman would have a lot to do, and would be working long hours to make sure it was all done. And, to be honest, she wanted to be in the jungle about as much as these guys. And she hoped she got to change out of these heels before she had to step into that jungle. If she didn’t she would be furious.

(Hello everyone! So we can give the group a chance to get to kmow eachother a little in the airport or I can do a transition to their first challenge, whatever you want to do
Also, I was thinking of doing confessionals or interviews for everyone? If you guys are up to that you can let me know and I’ll write out the questions. We may also use the confessional booth when contestants want to talk to the audience)
