(Would have posted sooner, but my phone was doing a weird increased font thing.)
"Were you being stared at? Honestly they were probably looking at us in general, I mean, we do look kinda funny together." Karametra said with a small smile, her head tipped to the side as she looked at him. "Stares are nothing really, I got used to ignoring them; I mean, it's expected when most don't have bird wings!" She laughed in amusement, thinking about some of the other beings that came to the school. "Um, perhaps I worded that incorrectly? My parents didn't yell at me, though I did get lectured and still don't particularly understand to be honest. But when they others would do something, they said I was involved or did the bad thing and I'd be the one scolded." She said, thinking about it. "I never really understood what was happening though, so most of what any of the adults said went over my head. Mom and Dad said I'm not friends with those kids anymore, and I somehow ended up here. Though...Magic really goes over my head!" She said, seeming so unaffected by everything she said, unaware of how gullible and naive she was.

Alpha just stared at the doe-eyes girl as she spoke, completely ignoring the part about him at this point. After she stopped talking, it took a moment longer for him to be able to speak again. “Kara. Those people weren’t your friends. Or at least they shouldn’t have been. The only reason they kept you around was to use you as a scapegoat.” He said to her. All of his own issues had melted away, and he felt an anger deep inside him start to bubble. It wasn’t anything serious yet, but I was slowly building pressure. The audacity of people to just use someone. Like my father used my mother. he thought. The anger only got worse. Without even realizing it, his fists had gone white from how hard he had bench clenching them, and his teeth made an audible sound as his clenched jaw ground them against each other.

Karametra looked at him with a small tilt of her head before reaching towards him. Taking one of his hands in both of hers, she watched him with bright eyes. "Mom and Dad told me, and so did big brother. I'll be honest, I don't understand very well. I just thought the adults didn't like me, I was different compared to the other Neziri children. Dad said I was one of few with magic potential, and I can't really fly either." She said with a small smile, watching him curiously. "Look, you've calmed down!" She said, totally missing the mood swing from upset with himself to upset at other people in general.

Älphönse was completely and utterly lost. He had no words to say, and wasn’t even sure if he was feeling any emotion or multiple emotions at that moment. All he knew was that he was completely confused. Here as a girl that was obviously put through a terrible and abusive childhood that just shrugged it off. Whether or not her ignorance towards said abuse was intentional or not, it was astounding either way. Alpha had completely forgotten about the whole ordeal of why he had dragged her into his room. Right now he had a beautiful girl holding his hand in his dorm room all while explaining how she was used as a puppet and smiling it all off anyway. “Who are you?” He asked. It was a rhetorical question, and he realized that she would probably have tried to answer it if he didn’t catch himself. “I mean, I know who you are, but like... I’m so confused right now.” He said, continuing to stare into her eyes. His snail brain decided to catch up again. “Wait, you said you had magical potential. Sent Neziri normally innate? As in, non-magical? Wouldn’t that make you a unicorn?” He caught himself again. “Not a unicorn, I mean wouldn’t that make you an extremely rare case?”

Karametra looked at him and pouted a bit, thinking about what he was saying. "Um...it's not that it's rare, I don't think." She explained as she looked at him, her wings fluttering behind her absently. "My dad can do magic! A-And a few of the other kids too! My community didn't have many kids my age, we were a small community." She said, tilting her head as she tried to think about it. "Most magic users become recorders, which are Neziri who store memories of everyone! My dad is one actually!" She said happily as she looked at him, thinking about her family and the community she was from. "I think I'm the only magic user in my community to not take the recorder job though... All the other kids are apprentices now, but mom and dad sent me here to keep me away from the others." She said before blinking in surprise. "Oh jeez! I'm so sorry! I've been talking so much and I probably confused you even more and I'm not even sure what I'm saying anymore!" She gushed out in a strange hurry, realizing she had been rambling on and on about herself. She didn't know this guy, he could have been like the others for all she knew. Not that it would have mattered, she would have befriended him anyways, and probably end up continuing that old cycle much to her family's dismay.

Alphy tilted his head to the side a bit as Karametra spoke. Maybe he had been thinking about something else. In truth, Alphy didn't know much about races other than humans and sirens. And even then, it was hard for a mute siren to really teach her son about siren culture since she had been missing the most important part of it, her voice. He had realized that she was still talking and that he was, in fact, calming down. When she apologized for rambling, he squeezed her hands that were still holding his and shook his head. "No, don't apologize. You've calmed me down. Not even my mother could do that when I lost it." He said, putting on a small smile. He reached up with his other hand and pulled the hair band off of the end of his braid. He ran his fingers through the braid, unweaving his hair, before shaking his head to loosen it all. His waist length light grey hair flowed around him as he combed his fingers through it again to straighten it a little before returning his gaze back to Karametra. "Plus, what you're talking about is actually interesting to me, so I don't mind if you kept going."

Karametra looked at him and smiled happily, having yet to release his hand, likely because she forgot she was holding it to begin with. "Is it? I find it really confusing myself, though as you can probably tell, lots of things confuse me that probably shouldn't. Neziri are really big on memories! Even if we don't remember those memories ourselves, they are stored in enchanted items, or at least that's what my dad says. Outside of recorders, we're all given jobs that are already there, and we are recommended one by our big council, though we get to choose in the end, except the recorders though..." She said, once again randomly rambling before looking at him, her eyes wide. "Wow! I've never seen hair light before! Or really that long actually, at least on a male Neziri anyways." She said, her awe and excitement practically palpable as she looked at him with bright brown eyes.
