Harvestclan: Home Bittersweet Home
Introduction You may think of farm or barn cats living an easy life, shelter and prey aplenty. But not everything is sunshine and rainbows when the politics of clan life get in the way. Seasons ago everything was at peace within the clan, but now things have turned for the worse. When the current leader, Whitestar, came into power and began to change things. He brought in rogues and loners as his own protection and enforcers of his new warrior code. Some cats have accepted Whitestar as leader of the clan, but a small group of warriors still put up a fight to get things back to where they were. I guess the big question here is, whose side are you on?
Territory General Territory- An large open farmland surrounded by dense forest of oak and pine trees. In the center of the territory is a lake and two small rivers leading into it. To the north west is the camp which is a big, old barn. The fields are covered in tall grass, making the territory a bit of a maze for those who don't know their way around. Camp- As stated before the camp is inside a big old barn that once was home to the farm animals who have since been moved to a newer barn close by the pasture. Inside the clan uses the upper and lower levels by climbing up and down stacks of hay. They also use hay for their nests as well as any moss they can find.
The Pasture- A big portion of the territory that is fenced off, this is where the two-legs leave their farm animals during the day. Cats are warned to be careful if inside the pasture due to the risk of being stomped on by the farm animals. There are two trees in the pasture, good for hunting birds sometimes.
Misty Lake- A nice round lake covered with reeds and tall grass, the water itself is clear making it easy to spot fish swimming around within. The lake isn't very deep except for in the middle, young cats are told to avoid the middle until they are older. Two rivers feed into the lake from the north and south ends. The river currents aren't too strong, making crossing usually pretty safe.
Herb Fields- The two legs have a stretch of land the the west of the lake that they use to grow different crops all year round, the medicine cats have taken to watching the two-legs and have learned how to grow their own herbs as well. Sometimes the two-legs will take some of the herbs the medicine cat's grow, which can be annoying to even the most patient of medicine cats.
Oak Pool- A small pool of water to the south east of the lake and south of camp, surrounded by large oak trees that seem to have been here longer than the farm itself. The oak roots dipping into the water creating a small barrier around the water. This is where the Leader and Medicine cat will go to speak to Starclan.
The Forest- Around the edges of the territory is the forest, larger wild animals live out here like bears, badgers, and the rarely seen cougar. It is said to be dangerous and cats are told not to go there ever.
Camp Leader's Den- On the upper level of the barn, the leader's den is located under a small stack of lumber. Using hay and moss for a nest, the den itself is small and doesn't over much room. One or two cats are only able to fit at one time, depending on the size of the cats.
Protectors Den- The protectors live on the lower or floor level of the barn, making they nest in a big pile of hay that they all share together. There nest is close to the warrior and apprentices nests. This den once belonged to the elders.
Medicine cat's Den- On the floor level across from the warrior and the apprentice's den, a large fort made of hay bales with a tarp over the top of it. A total of four cats can fit at a time, making it somewhat snug in there and sometimes the injured cats must sleep next to the den inside of inside it. The medicine cats store their herbs and medicine within the small nooks and crannies in the walls or even in between the hay.
Warrior and Apprentice's Den- Side by side to each other are more piles of hay up again the left side of the barn. Moss and hay are sometimes stuffed into cracks in the barn wall to keep the cold air out.
Nursery- The far back of the barn, farthest away from the doors/main entrance is the nursery. This area has the most hay and the walls are surrounded with stacks of hay which keep the wind and elements outside. Kits are told to stay only on the floor level, as a fall from the upper level could cause serious harm or even death from that height.
Rules RP Rules: 1. Follow Forum Rules: All forum rules apply here. Be sure to review them, but I would like to emphasize keeping violence at a light PG-13 and romance at a PG!
Slower paced roleplay is perfectly acceptable, because life can get busy. However, you must roleplay at least once per week. If you are inactive for 2 weeks, you will be sent a warning, and if you continue to be inactive for 3-4 weeks you will be removed. Please notify me if you can not be active for a week! Also, if you don't think you will be participating anymore, please notify me as well instead of disappearing! I will be especially strict on these rules if you have a position of power or have a character tied to a plot! 3. Roleplaying: Moderate literacy, please. 2-5 sentences per post is a general reference, and please do not use abbreviations or "txt talk" in-character. Out of character conversations should be done in (), [], or {}. Please do not godmod, powerplay, spotlight, or ghost during roleplay. You absolutely can not kill another member's character without permission. Everything should be fair and fun for every member. 4. Characters: There is no limit to how many characters you have as long as you use them! Feel free to get creative with realistic coat and eye colors, but no crazy impossible traits(such as impossible colors, wings, horns, etc.). Basically, stick to the realism level of the books. Characters should not be perfect - they need flaws as well as strengths. All sexualities are welcome, as long as it isn't the sole trait of the character. 5. Out Of Character Interaction: Be kind and welcoming to everyone! Disrespectful conduct and harassment is not tolerated here. All plot ideas are welcome, please feel free to suggest any you have! 6. Bloodlines: Although it isn't required it does make the rp more interesting when characters are related to one another in some way. If you want your character(s) to be related to someone else's characters then please ask for their permission first. [/ul][/div]
Warrior Code
Defend the clan and Whitestar with your life, refusing to do so is treason! There will be no more elders, all cats fight for the clan until Starclan calls them.
Queens, Kits, and Whitestar are to be fed before the rest of the clan can.
Prey is only to be eaten, give thanks to Starclan for its life.
The protectors do not need to hunt for the clan, there job is to protect and serve within the clan.
Kits can now be made apprentices when they feel they are ready or are 5 moons old.
Newly made warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.
The role of Deputy can be challenged and fought for at any time, the winner of this fight will be named the new deputy. Not all fights must end in death, though it does make the challenge appear stronger to Whitestar.
Boundaries are to be checked and marked daily by warriors and apprentices, this is to be done at least twice a day. Fight, chase off, or kill all trespassers unless they are willing to join the clan.
Never neglect a kit in need, even if it's not part of the clan.
Whitestar's word is the warrior code.[/ul][/div][/div]

Allegiances Leader | Whitestar | Tom | 58 Moons | ~Cherry Red Panda~ | A solid and strong white tom cat with amber eyes, his fur is ragged despite being short. He has scars along his face, neck, and flank. He has cuts in his left ear and a big chunk of his right ear is missing. Whitestar is harsh and selfish, traits he was able to hide for many moons as deputy. Now that he's leader he's letting his true colors show. He values strength more than anything, even more than the warrior code itself. Speaking of the warrior code, he has started changing the code to fit his own ideals of what the clan should be like. He was raised clanborn, grew up a normal yet obviously ambitious cat. Many thought he was too young when he was made deputy but he showed promise in his future leadership. 6/9 lives left.

Harvestclan Prey Mice- Very common, found almost anywhere on the territory. Squirrels- Common, found often in the territory especially around trees. Shrews- Common, found usually around the more tree covered areas of the territory. Voles- Common, found around the fields, lake, and rivers. Small birds(robins, doves, finches, etc.)- Very Common, found in trees or on the ground in the fields and plains. Fish- Common, found in Misty Lake and the rivers. Rabbits- Uncommon, usually only found in the open plains or near Herb Field.
Predators Foxes- Commonly seen trying to steal farm animals from the two-legs. Hawks- Hiding up in the trees, ready to swoop down and grab any small critter it sees as prey. Snakes- Hidden among rocks and tall grass, some are venomous while others are not so be very careful. Bears- Large beasts that usually stay inside the forest only, can sometimes come into the territory looking for food during leaf-bare. Badges- Usually found in the forest as well, living in their burrows. Fierce creatures. Cougar- Large cat, but not like us. Stay far away from these creatures! Thankfully usually only seen in the forest. Coyotes- They look like foxes but usually a more tan or brown fur color. They act a lot like Foxes too, though sometimes seen together in small groups. Rats- Large rodents with a nasty bite, they like to try and steal prey or even steal the barn from the clan cats. Harvestclan has had a feud with the rats for a long, long time.
Traditions and Culture
- Kits born during certain phases of the moon are said to have inherited traits of being strong warriors, good healers, or impressive leaders. Full moon for strong warriors, New moon for good healers, and the Harvest moon for promising leaders.
- Harvestclan cats live in harmony with the two-legs, but queens still hide their kits from them out of fear of the two-legs giving the kits away to other two-legs.
- The clan has a rule of not eating any farm animals, as this may disrupt the peace between them and the two-legs.
