"Hard to miss em Shadowhunter." Teagan remarked glancing over at her. She didn't mean for her answer to come off as rude. She lets out a soft sigh knowing the girl did nothing to her. "Do you come here often?" She questioned hoping to lighten the mood a little. Teagan should be lucky that the girl wasn't a vampire.

Teagan motions to the cafe. "I often come here for my lunch breaks." She explained giving her a small smile. "The downworlder cafe is usually really crowded especially at night." She wrinkled her nose as she thought about the vampires piled into one place.

“Must be a boring life to live. I couldn’t ever do it, but I guess when it’s all you’ve ever known it’s hard to do anything else.” He gave her a small shrug, not even entirely sure if he was making any sense. Mundanes weren’t something he bothered himself with unless he had to, there wasn’t ever a reason to. "Well," Aurora sighed. "I guess that we should both be going. I need to get Liam a new coat, and I don't doubt that you have things to do as well." She looked around, slightly surprised that no ordinary mundanes had walked in on their conversation. "As I said, if you need us, we'll probably be hanging around here if it's during the day. I take Isla and Liam here an unreasonable amount, really."

Sienna Highfire ~ In the cafe, with Teagan (Hawkeyes258 )
"Ha, yeah, I get that," Sienna replied with a faint smile. "I tend to stay away from those kinds of places for now. There's still some animosity between Shadowhunters and Downworlders, and I don't want to encroach on their space, I guess. I don't think I'd be too welcome there, anyway." She ran a hand down her long braid, which hung over her shoulder down to her mid-back, and tugged the rubber band holding free. She ran her fingers through her hair as she spoke, separating the strands into waves as she did. "The Institute is fine, but sometimes it gets stuffy with all the talk about the Clave and politics and things like that. I guess you could say I needed a little break."

(Heyo! I'm new to the thread but I have 2 other characters open, a vampire named Madeleine and a shadowhunter nammed Sienna if you want to rp!)
Sage simply waved him off. "Do what you want, but don't come crying to me for help when the Clave comes knocking on your door," he replied flippantly, running a hand through his hair. "As a matter of fact, forget what I said earlier about not moving, maybe you'd be better off out of my hair." He sounded bitter as he spoke, eyes narrowed and a frown on his face, contrary to his earlier serious but cocky approach. He turned on his heels, putting his back to Marshall. "But would you prefer I move? Obviously you find some joy in bothering me." Marshall said with a grin. He was baiting Sage into getting slightly annoyed. The male for some reason enjoyed annoying the werewolf, sure he hated the other male as well...or he thought so anyway. Actually it was more of a vampires and werewolves are enemies so he feels he must hate the other. "Why are you so interested what happens to me Sage. I didn't figure a werewolf would be so worried about a vampire getting in trouble. Is there a reason why?" Actually he really didn't care or he didn't think he did but it was a very curious subject. Actually why did he truly care what the werewolf thought?

Sage Wilder ~ In the neighborhood, with Marshall (@angelfur )
Sage frowned, knowing that Marshall was intentionally trying to aggravate him and feeling the telltale feeings of annoyance at the back of his head. "I'm just trying to watch my own back, don't get a big head about it," he retorted with a slight scowl. "The Clave doesn't differentiate between vampires and werewolves. If either one of us takes a step out of place, they'll be all over us in seconds. I intend to protect my kind fro them, it's how we wolves look out for each other. I like to think vampires wouldn't willingly leave their own kind to fend for themselves, but I've encountered enough of you to know that's not always the case." He narrowed his eyes, obviously doubting Marshall's ability to care for anyone other than himself. "If I see you as a threat to me or my allies, I won't hesitate to do whatever it takes to ensure that we're protected."

Annabelle was quiet as she focused on the task at hand, trying to be gentle and not rub too hard. "We wouldn't be wasting it if you hadn't smeared a cupcake in my face." She pointed out, giving him a small smile as she moved to the other cheek. When Jason made the comment about licking it off Annabelle froze for a second, searching his eyes to see if he was serious or if he was making a joke. "If you even get near me I will bite you." She was only partly kidding, "Plus, what if my brother found out? What would he do I wonder, you know how protective he is of me..." The Starkweather girl looked away as she said the last part, refusing to meet his eyes as she cleaned up around his chin and the tiny bit that had gotten smeared onto his neck. Annabelle hadn't meant to say it, it was more of her thinking out loud, but it was something she was genuinly curious about. For some reason she was nervous about Bash finding out they had been together this afternoon, but she didn't know why she was so freaked out about it. With Jason being his parabatai he could be really excited or really upset, Bash was hard to read sometimes when it came to his sister. Why would he care? We're friends, they're friends, there's nothing he should be concerned about right? Still, she couldn't help but wonder.
--
Sebatian couldn't help but let out a small chuckle, "Hey I don't blame you, it's kind of nice out here. Quiet, surprisingly." For someone who didn't get out of the Institute much he sure was enjoying his small break in the mundane world. "I'll keep that in mind though, and you know where to find me as well. Don't hesitate to stop by if you need anything, I'll talk to the warlock soon for the little ones. I probably should be heading back though, it was nice meeting you." He gave her a small smile as he turned to leave, waving at the three of him as he began to head back the way he had come.

Ok maybe he did make an impression but not a very good one considering how the werewolf acted towards him. "And compared to your belief in me I wouldn't let anyone not even a werewolf be in trouble or in risk of death. It's just...you infuriate me sometimes for some reason. Not entirely a bad thing as it keeps me on my feet." Marshall actually had no idea why Sage infuriated him but the other male did. "I wouldn't hurt anyone unless it was a fight for my life and I really don't understand why we hate each other anyway. I have nothing really against you it's just sort of expected I guess."

Sage Wilder ~ In the neighborhood, with Marshall (@angelfur )
Sage blinked in surprise at Marshall's words, unprepared to hear anything other than biting, sometimes sarcastic words coming from him. He'd always naturally retaliated to anyone who spoke badly toward him regardless of why or how they did, and vampires were no exception to this. Even other werewolves weren't immune to his cold temper when agitated. "You know what, I believe that. You haven't given me any reason to think you'd go feral and attack someone outright. especially if it was potentially dangerous," he sighed, slipping his hands into the pockets of his jacket with finality. "The same can't be said for other vampires, though. Not all of them are able to hold onto their sense of reason and morals, especially ones who have been around as long as you have." After all, Marshall wasn't the only Downworlder to have lived as long as he had, and many of them became cynical and jaded with age, driven into monotony by centuries of unending life.

After all, Marshall wasn't the only Downworlder to have lived as long as he had, and many of them became cynical and jaded with age, driven into monotony by centuries of unending life. Marshall sighed at this. "Personally? Sometimes I think about looking at the sun one last time and letting it be my end. Actually I do rather think that is how I would like to go. Being able to see the sun rise one last time before it's all over." Ok maybe that sounded dark but he had been alive for over a century, watching the world slowly change and missing how it used to be so much better with teens being less arrogant. "Sorry for being a downer but it gets tiring living your life endlessly knowing that death will never be an option unless you get yourself killed. Heck I'm surprised I lasted this long....being turned is....painful not just physically but it has an emotional and mental toll as well since you watch all those you care about slowly die around you and knowing you won't get to die with them." A line of blood ran from his eye, the tear of a vampire. Wow he never had thought about how sad he truly was, maybe his sadness slowly became something else through time...bitterness.

Teagan leaned back on the sole of her feet. "Politics are never fun." She remarked shaking her had. The downworlders had their own set of politics. "How long until things come to a head?" She questioned wanting her take on it. Teagan knew one wrong move would lead to another war.

Sage Wilder ~ In the neighborhood, with Marshall (@angelfur )
Sage was unsure of how to respond to Marshall's words. He couldn't relate to being deathless, he being quite mortal himself, but he was aware that Marshall was well over one hundred years old and likely one of the oldest vampires in the area. He knew the names of a few prominent ones, if only so he could keep an eye out for them, but it was hard to relate with someone who carried such a unique burden. He could, however, relate to the pain of turning, having experienced a similar sensation only a few years back. He didn't bring it up now, though, the subject far too close and personal for a not even casual conversation. "I can't say I understand," he replied, a hint of awkwardness in his voice, though the story did make him feel a tinge of pity for the vampire. He was only alive and sane now because of the Praetor Lupis, who had taken him in and connected him with a pack that had taught him how to live a semi-normal life, but that story wasn't true for all new werewolves or fledgeling vampires. It seemed as though Marshall didn't belong to any clan; perhaps he didn't get along with other vampires? He shook his head, willing the thoughts away. "In any case, I've said what I wanted to say. Just... stay out of trouble. I don't want to have to come knocking on your door." He reached into the pocket of his jacket and pulled out a pair of glasses, slipping them onto his nose. As a wolf, he didn't need them, but his human body was sadly susceptible to less-than-perfect vision. Sienna Highfire ~ In the cafe, with Teagan (Hawkeyes258 )
Sienna shrugged in response, turning to face Teagan at lastand leaning casually against the coffee counter while the other girl waited for her drink. "Who knows, it's impossible to predict those sorts of things. The Praetor Lupis does what they can to keep the Downworlders from getting too crazy, but there's only so much they can do," she replied. She tucked a strand of black hair behind her ear, humming thoughtfully. "If I had to put a deadline on it... maybe a few months before something really bad happens? But that's just my opinion. If you asked someone else, they might tell you tomorrow, or they might say never." She shrugged again, taking a sip of her drink again. It was no longer steaming, having sat too long before she'd decided to talk to Teagan. Speaking of which, she hadn't even introduced herself, or learned the girl's name. "I'm Sienna, by the way. I work at the Seattle Institute."

As a wolf, he didn't need them, but his human body was sadly susceptible to less-than-perfect vision. "I cannot promise anything...." Marshall said before wiping away the line of blood. It being blood of course smeared which left a red smudge on his face, the male didn't seem to notice or really care. He had never told anyone his sadness...his bitterness or his worries so why did he tell the werewolf whom he hardly even knew? Maybe the shared hatred or shared experience of being another with a demon curse made it all the easier? "One more thing before we walk away....is the sun still as bright as it was in nineteen o'two?" Sure it was a weird question but he could not truly see for himself as just a ray of it could cause him great pain and the sunlight had once been his favorite thing to enjoy...until the night he got turned. "I assume it would be but I can never be sure. Sunlight isn't the nicest to me anymore...not compared to when I was little. I do miss the late eighteen hundreds to early nineteen hundreds." The vampire seemed to think back on those times for a couple of minutes, as if they had such meaning which of course they did as they were when he was still human.

Sage was silent for a moment, unsure of how to respond. He'd considered before what it would be like to not even be able to be near a window during the day lest the sunlight get through and burn your skin, and the thought was honestly pretty saddening to him. He shook his head, replying, "I couldn't tell you, I wasn't alive then, but I think the sun is pretty bright." He adjusted his glasses briefly. "Maybe someday you'll meet someone who can give you a better answer." With that said, he turned and started to continue his way down the street. Sienna Highfire ~ At the cafe, with Teagan (Hawkeyes258 )
Sienna blinked in surprise; she hadn't expected the werewolf girl to be the pack's leader, of all people. Still, her polite and casual approach had paid off this time. She give Teagan's hand a shake, chuckling. "Well, I can't say it's what I expected you to say, but nonetheless, it's good to meet you," she replied. She recognized the girl's name from talks around the Insistute, as the local Downworld leaders were often a point of conversation between Shadowhunters, but she'd never seen her face before. I suppose that's a good sign, it means her and her pack aren't causing trouble, she thought to herself. "Have you been pack leader for very long?"
