I got to see this movie on Netflix, and it was a pretty good movie (especially since it's as close to the book as it can get). Between this movie and Disney's remake, I can't decide which one I like better. Both movies have their ups and downs, like with the CGI and characters and story. From the wolf pack adopting Mowgli (with some help from Bagheera and Baloo) to Mowgli learning to live like the wolves and even to Mowgli wielding fire to save Akela from Shere Khan and the younger rebel wolves. I do feel sorry for that albino wolf pup named Bhoot. Despite his annoying scream at times, he did his best to support Mowgli, even after he failed his Running, only to be snapped at and be told he "came out wrong". Last time Mowgli actually sees this pup, he's been killed by the hunter looking after him and had his head mounted. It's pretty sad. All in all, on a scale from one to five, I'll give it a 4.5/5. I definitely recommend giving this one a try.

Oh is this edgy Mowgli? I think I heard of this movie. Yep, it's the Andy Serkis Jungle Book movie. It's pretty good. I'd give this a watch.

I might give it a watch. I like Andy’s work, so I’m curious to see his directing chops and how well he can tell a story behind the camera.

The cgi felt a bit weird and the character designs for some of the animals didn't make sense but, despite all that, i loved it. The story is definitely there and some of the visuals(like Shere Khan drinking from the water after his kill) were stunning. A few of my favorite scenes were (1)the talk with Tabaqui after he burned his tail, (2)Akela's reaction after Mowgli turned man's weapon against the jungle, (3)the look Baloo and Bagheera share when Mowgli says Kaa saved him, (4)Bagheera and Baloo's fight and rampage when they go to save Mowgli, and (5)the exchange between Bagheera and Mowgli after he's captured by the village. The movie was mature and mostly realistic. As a viewer, I felt that you could also better understand each character. The movie provided more backstory and motive for a lot of its characters that the Disney adaptation just ignored. I liked that and, overall, found myself in love with the tale and the lore. It was well worth the watch.
