I've been planning and doing a million other things- So I figured I'd like something relatively fast, fun, and easy to take my mind off school rip in pieces and such ^^"
So my starter idea was something fantasy-ish and vaguely inspired by Narnia or something of the like- But I'm open to other suggestions~
{-}{-}{-}
CHARACTERS
Lennox-Roux Nash// Magic Unknown (Hushabye) Nox, as he prefers to be called, is usually characterized by being anxious, exacting, and paranoid. A balance of extremes, he can either be cool and reserved or surprisingly vocal with a temper that his exuberant childhood friend often triggers. Otherwise, Nox does his best to avoid expressing himself over much and prefers to fade into the background. When in the company of those he distrusts- which would be everyone but Beau- Nox proves himself to be a chameleon. False emotions, fake smiles, whatever he must do to fly under the radar as just another ordinary person. An...unconventional childhood has made him skilled and knowledgeable on a variety of different subjects, though he prefers to avoid situations in which he would need them. In fact, Nox prefers to avoid everything. Though intelligent, he carefully maintains average grades, avoids others as much as possible, and rarely speaks. His isolation is self-imposed and would be complete if not for Beau's stubborn optimism. The blond brings out his long-buried sense of responsibility and finds it relatively easy to rope him into his schemes. Nox hates the spotlight, tense situations, and being relied upon, so it's rather unfortunate that they are all where he truly thrives. A bit of a Boy Scout, but to the extreme- Nox may not have a 'Scout's Honor' but he is always prepared to a sometimes unsettling degree, whether it be to simply supply handkerchiefs and his extensive knowledge of knots- Or to chew his own arm off if the situation comes to it. (Magic::
Jacinth Beaumont// Magic Unknown (Hushabye) Jace creates and generates cheer like a demented energizer bunny- Nox's words, not his- As an extrovert- he's the kind of person who loves people in general and loves to be around them. He's optimistic and bubbly, full to bursting with energy and good humor. Compassionate and easygoing, Jace can get along with even the most ill-tempered of people- mostly due to his selective hearing and sunshiny attitude. Unfortunately he's also eager-to-please and gives the impression of naïvety, making him a popular target as he rarely says 'no' to anyone and tends to do whatever is asked of him to the best of his ability. This is a side-effect of his self-sacrificing nature and debilitating hero complex, something rather small in childhood that grew to encompass his whole life; Jace's frequent attempts to right every wrong he sees greatly contribute to Nox's anxious nature. Despite having a relatively good reputation around school and his hometown, the few who didn't know him as well saw him as a delinquent. But the piercings, tattoos, and motorcycle don't quite fit the image one might expect- His love for nature is expressed even in the beautiful tattoo sleeves snaking up his arms and the flowers decorating his ears and left brow. There are times when one could worry about just how strong his grip on reality is- Jace is a touch Too bright-natured and unflappable in even dire circumstances, with a kind of hazy quality about him that could hint at his not being entirely present, so to speak. Not that this doesn't serve him well- It often ensures that he can steer undesirable situations when they would be otherwise difficult under emotional strain. Though he doesn't actively seek it out, Jace often finds himself in a position of leadership. (Magic::

Thank you for the interest!
So this is the bare bones of my initial plot: Magic is rare and hated, but this is because all those who possess it- few as they are, abuse the power as often and thoroughly as they can. A prophecy reveals that people from another world/time with powerful magic of their own will come to replace them and restore magic to the world, but not everyone is keen to replace one magic-based regime with another. They'd rather it was destroyed all together, along with their supposed champions.
It takes place in a fantasy/medieval world, of course, and our primary characters can either be travelers from the modern world or heroes from its past. So not quite Narnia but I was thinking about it. ^^"

((Welcome back! And thank you~ I only have a general idea of things, but you're welcome to make suggestions and we can adjust things as we go~ I'm leaning toward the 'figures/legends from the past' idea because it's not often done, and we could blend that with the other one to create a misfit mismatch of formerly ordinary people and ones who are anything but... I'm in school now, but I can be back in a few hours.

((Hello! I can understand that, because admittedly I'll be a bit absent at times as well. I think that could be allowable depending on your character's involvement- If they're quiet then we can switch scenes and pretend they've always been there, for example- You could start out with just one to see how it goes, but of course you're under no obligation to join~
More To Add::
Taking a page from Narnia & Diana Wynne Jones- I was thinking our normal characters could accidentally end up in the world of...Evronea when exploring an abandoned house. They could go through different doors and end up in the same place? To encourage more Roleplay between writers, I was also thinking we could team up our normal and 'hero' characters so that they would be partners going forward. Everyone would be on the same central team, but they'd kind of be their own individual two-person partnership within it...Er, I don't know if anyone knows Soul Eater..? But kind of like a meister and weapon. What do you think? ^^"
Also on the subject of character creation: Almost any magic is allowed as long as it isn't too OP, you can start out with one character of each type if you'd like, and your 'heroes' can have strange appearances & be of a fantasy race. All expressly magical creatures/beings have disappeared, but this doesn't apply to our formerly/supposedly dead heroes, so you can be a vampire or shapeshifting dragon if you'd like~
I'll try to have a small paragraph on my characters & a starter up in a bit!
Sorry for the wait! And suddenly putting more thought into this than previously planned ^^"

{{ i think with jump in threads you can just create a starter but if you want maybe do a intro post first so everyone can get a feel of each other's characters?? also I wouldn't mind being the weapon character but if not that then i was also thinking that my character could've been trapped in this world for a while now and finds the newcomers?? }}

((Hm, maybe I'll do an intro only for the humans? I was hoping everyone from the modern world could know each other so we can save time on our primary characters 'meeting'. Oh, that's a good idea...I was thinking everyone would end up in a kind of citadel that was made to honor the fallen heroes so your character could have made their way there as well? I already have a kind of 'guide' who would be used for exposition and to introduce both writers and readers to the world, so maybe they could work together? I'll try to have the starter up soon to show you what I mean- Should be finished tonight! ^^'

Ilmara's Citadel of Champions is a stately quartz affair. Built into the side of their kingdom's most hazardous mountain, its very placement marks it as a test of and testament to, courage. Octagonal in shape, it boasts eight sky-piercing spires that fly the tattered flags of evronea's most prominent kingdoms. The architecture in itself is a blend of their various distinct styles, giving it a kind of misshapen beauty not even decades of neglect and presumed disuse can tarnish. She's always thought it beautiful, however. Even when her father had forbidden allowing her gaze to linger too long on journeys past the mountain. Even when she'd been dragged up the blessedly smooth steps, bloodied and barely able to see through swollen eyes and the haze of tears. Even then. Always. Parakronus is beautiful not for its stained windows and elegant standing arches, but for what it represents. This hallowed place; their first and last hope.
The weak morning sunlight is filtered through a thick haze of smog from the west and snow-laden clouds from the north, catching on the impossibly white stone that makes up the inner walls and buildings. Their soft glow seems a good omen, somehow. The entire air hums with quiet magic, dormant and forgotten, but growing stronger with every shuddering breath. Despite the constant pervading feeling of being watched, Aina tells herself there is no one to see her in such a state. And so she shivers and clutches at the thin, ragged cloth that had once been a lavender curtain, now a crude cloak that drapes slender shoulders. She picks her way through the stone-studded courtyard with light, quick steps borne of a mixture of urgency and anticipation. She has been waiting for this day since she was old enough to read, marveling at the heroes of old and their storied victories. Feats of magic that have been lost to the ages- But not now. Not yet. Never again, if she has anything to say about it.
She can't quite contain a nervous giggle- somewhat bordering hysteria- as she takes the stairs leading into the inner halls two at a time. Weak, slender legs fail her twice on the icy stone, but she only picks herself back up with more bruises to add to her growing collection. The halls are dark and imposing, echoing the sound of her soggy ruined slippers and panting breaths, but she's grown accustomed to them now. Weeks spent in near darkness have helped her eyes adjust to the dim lighting- The wall sconces will not light and the gloom of the weather has discouraged sunlight from entering the windows. She navigates primarily by way of memory, the pulsing golden crystal embedded into her chest making up for any lapses by illuminating the designated path when her steps falter.
Aina skitters to a halt before a large ornate door at the very center of the citadel's inner sanctum, feverish honey-brown gaze taking in the golden inlay; fantastic scenes depicted with precious metals and priceless jewels. She briefly touches a trembling hand to the runes dividing its center, reverent- Before scrambling to crack open the book half-poking out of her battered satchel. Trembling- leftover chills from her trek through the snow and anticipation that clogs her throat- she wills herself to calm and scan through the cramped letters with only the light of her crystal to read by. "There's no rush. You can do this." She assures herself in a hoarse whisper, but finds the reassurance falling short at the distant sound of something smooth gliding along the stone floors. The susurrus of pages idly being flipped when she knows she holds the book steady. In this dark confined space, every sound is magnified. Including the frantic beating of her heart.
There is another reason even the most adventurous are loathe to visit the Citadel- And that would be the monster rumored to be guarding its secrets. Aina has never seen it, but the crushed skeletons littering the outer grounds and silken sounds of it...moving have haunted her for the entirety of her banishment. Somehow she gets the impression that it's...circling her. Always just out of sight but never too far to miss.
"P-please. I can do this-"
{-}{-}{-}
(Elsewhere...)
"We're~ not in Kansas anymore~" A cheerful singsong, airy and utterly unconcerned.
"Oh my go- Beau stop!" Firm but shaky, an edge that speaks more of fear than anger.
"Haha~ Sorry sorry!"
Their words echo unsettlingly throughout the stone passage despite its confines. Damp walls support cobwebs of a worrying size and connect to a low jagged ceiling. Discolored water trickles along the sloping floor, lending their sneakers an irritating squeak that bounces around the stone with every step. It takes a few more steps for their voices to sound again, softer now.
"Hey Roux-"
"What."
"Don't you think we've been walking for too long?" The one who speaks now is notably rather short, a strawberry-blond with bright eyes and angelic features. The left shoulder of his magenta hoodie still bears signs of dust and a few tears, but his gait is as light and unencumbered as his tone. Though his build is svelte and doesn't appear suited to physical exertion, his fair skin is littered with rather prominent scars and his breathing is even despite the distance they've covered.
His taller brunet companion walks ahead of him, shoulders tense and dark eyes narrowed. In contrast, he's slender in a more willowy way and appears much less comfortable with the mildewed air and added cardio. While more layers conceal his paler skin, he alone feels the bone-deep chill of their surroundings- a scarlet scarf covers his freckled nose and muffles his low tenor. There doesn't appear to be much to see, but his sharp gaze and the beam of his flashlight ensure he would miss nothing. "Yes I- if this really was some kind of secret basement or crypt under that house we should have reached the end by now. I think-" He cuts himself off with a whispered curse, seizing the other teen's hood and dragging him around a shadowed area on the ground that he refuses to look too closely at. "That was a dead body."
"It was more of a skeleton-"
"That's the same thing! It's to the same effect! It means 'someone died here' and we're next!" Roux rounds on him, uncaring of the flinch when the flashlight beam skates over oblique eyes.
"I don't think skeletons necessarily have a meaning-"
"I cannot believe I let you and your idiot friends convince me to come to this- this murder house!" He's waving his hand- and the flashlight- wildly now and forcing his friend to duck. "We're going to die here Beau- Either by starvation or dehydration or asphyxiation or because I killed you and then put myself out of my misery. Can you die with that on your conscience? Can you?"
Beau is working very hard to find a response that isn't one of those cheeky quips that put his life in danger- especially when shared with his friend. They're a reflex at this point- But Roux is seriously freaking out- not that it's anything new- and he can't simply dismiss it. He ducks under another dramatic stab of the flashlight and catches Roux's hand, softening his tone and previously amused features when he speaks.
"Are we sure this isn't just one of those hidden haunted house attractions?"
"I know what a real skeleton looks like!"
"With a single glance? How?"
"And it's Christmas Eve!"
"My birthday~" Beau reminds cheerfully.
"Shut up!" Roux snaps. "If we don't find a way out, your death and birth will share the date." Beau makes to lift his hands and back away but Roux seizes his hood and pulls him along as they continue up the gradually widening passage. "I don't trust you to walk on your own. Keep up."
"Yessir~" He chirps with a hidden grin. Crisis averted. Mostly. They're still lost but Roux forgot that he had been edging into panic a few seconds ago. The next fifteen minutes are spent in relative silence, so it's easy to tell when it's being broken. The flashlight beam lowers and both teens pause at the sound of voices echoing from up ahead, where light of a warmer tone softens the mouth of the passage. "So. We've found the lair of a cult." Roux decides, and the blond snorts.
"Sounds like the others to me~" He tries to sidestep his way to the front and finds himself blocked by an extended arm and a glare. "Are you certain? If you aren't I'll have them sacrifice you first."
"Yep~ I recognize the patterns of their speech." Beau wiggles past and darts out of the damp tunnel, skidding into a cavernous antechamber with a rubber screech. "Bang~!" He cheers, one of many characteristic ways of announcing his 'entrances'. At least they'd know he wasn't an evil clone or something- While he preoccupies himself with hovering around the room's other occupants with a cheer that masks his relief at finding them, Roux enters more slowly and takes in the space in its entirety with mingling awe and trepidation. The crumbling fresco and bizarre engravings on the walls- hollows where offerings and heavy urns sit untouched but for a thick layer of dust- the grandness of the room in its gilt gold and gemstone inlay- The enormous freaking doors on the opposite end depicting scenes of humanoid figures prostrating before some kind of mausoleum-
"This is a crypt." Roux slowly rounds on Beau, russet eyes wide. "You think rather highly of yourself, don't you? Is this really where you want to die-?" The first- and continuation of- many threats is interrupted by the entire room shuddering, and those grand imposing doors begin to inch open with a sound like steel scraping stone and the indignant screams of the deceased.

((Ugh that's a bit more than planned...And more to be explained later. ^^" To clarify- We're introducing the humans from another world first. The rest of the 'heroes' will be officially introduced afterward, as they're all behind the doors I mentioned- And then Aina will show up. If that's okay? Also feel free to ask more questions because I know that whatever I write tends to be rather confusing...
I'll put character intros on my first post, so please watch for that~ You're also welcome to give me intros for your characters as well and I can put them up there too. I'm having you guys start out with two characters, and once I feel we've hit capacity with joiners, I'll let you add more~ That way we don't have say, ten different writers with nine characters each, y'know? ^^" And to answer your first question- Yes, all of our primary characters have some form of magic, but the humans develop and learn it, so they aren't immediately proficient. That's what the heroes are for.))

{{ so our heroes will be introduced later? should i write up a passage about my hero or wait? also does my hero and human count as two characters?? or if i made two humans and a hero does that count as three? sorry for all the questions! }}
"This is stupid! We are stupid!" A voice echoed angrily to herself as she walked through the tunnel, letting her hands glide against the walls for support. A confused whine from her partner made her roll her eyes. "Henry, this is stupid, we are gonna die. This is how every death starts, in some dark tunnel. You brought us to our death!" The annoyed honey-blonde haired girl spat at her dog. Henry just grumbled back and kept on padding on. Even though she couldn't see her black and tan dog she could hear his paw steps and followed his noise. The dog was eighty pounds and didn't care about being stealthy. This damn dog doesn't even know where he's going, where he's leading me to. Ugh! Cassia's dark blue eyes rolled to the back of her skull. Trust me, the girl loved her dog to death. It's been her best friend for six years but at the same time he tends to bring trouble to her, or the other way around. The lightly kept her finger tips on the walls, still her doe-shaped eyes were not adjusted to the dimness. Henry barked lightly as a glowing light came into view. Just the light took some of Cassia's breath away. The female stopped in her tracks and stared at it, unsure to go towards it.
Henry stopped and turned to his partner, the shepherd whined and hopped up in the air before making a doggish grin and taking off towards the light. "Henry!!!" Cassia gasped and she took off after her best friend. No, no you stupid dog! Her thoughts now are starting to jumble together as she chased after Henry. Her black sneakers hit the ground with a light screeching noise. She saw her black and tan dog squeeze between a door and disappear. The light had gotten stronger just as her eyes adjusted to the dark and Cassia had to stop her tracks for a minute and rub her face. She groaned and then looked at the door that was only left cracked open from her partner. Her slender legs went to take a step forward but halfway through froze. The blonde felt something was off and she didn't like it, she frowned. But I have to get Henry before something bad does actually happen. She made another groan before pushing the door more open and stepping inside.
The sight took her breath away, her dark blue eyes scanned everything in the room. The gold and gemstone look was formal but beautiful, her hands started to shake. She raised them up to her rosy lips to hold back a gasp. Everything was just so beautiful and regal. She's never seen anything like this. But Henry's panting distracted her and she became focused on her friend. Her eyes narrowed at him and he still had that doggish grin on his face. "Idiot" she whispered, her hands still pressed against her lips. Henry then snapped his head around and his large ears perked upwards as he made eye contact with the two other humans in the room. His head tipped to the side and Cassia's head followed. She looked at the two and dropped her hands. Showing that her oversized gray sweater was way too big for her small frame. So big that her tanned shoulders that were decorated in freckles were showing. She scrunched her small button nose, that also freckles painted across her nose and cheeks.
"Oh it's you two," she slowly said. A fierce but quiet whistle escaped her lips and Henry still with his dark brown gaze on the two males backed up to her till his hind ends touched her knees. Her fingers started to pick at her already ripped up black jeans. Her hair was down to her chest but it was wavy and untamed but still looked decent. Cassia blinked and then looked around the place again, she still couldn't believe where they were. "What is this place?" She murmured out loud, not to anyone in specific.
{{ Henry doesn't have to go with them to the other world, or he can if you want ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ just thought he would be a cool side-kick also i'm sorry if this sucks, still trying to get the role-play feel back in }}

((I'll write explaining what's going on with the heroes and you can introduce yours after~
No problem! Questions help us build~ And yes, one human and one hero counts as two heroes. Sorry that I have more! ^^" I kinda need them to help direct the plot.
Actually, they're already in the other world~ As soon as they stepped through a door in the abandoned house, they ended up in evronea. Henry would be a cool sidekick, so he can stay~!
No worries on that end! I'm trying to get back into roleplaying too. ^^'
I had planned on all of the humans knowing each other so we could skip introductions- Unless Cassia is the character that you wanted to already be here? Sorry I forgot! If she was already in the Citadel, where would she be staying and how long would she have been there? I can try to mention her in my starter if you want, but that might mean adjusting yours as well so that she and Aina could enter together? ^^; Whatever you want to do!)
