The Monarchy: These are the ruling figures of the Clan, dubbed the "King" and "Queen". The Reigning Monarch is the one who holds the most power of the two, while the other title simply goes to their mate. (Ex. a female heiress may ascend to the title of "Queen", and their mate will the "King". In this case, the Queen will have more power than the King). Despite this gender-neutral sort of system, the most frequent Reigning Monarchs are the Kings. In SpiritClan, the ascension of power is completely decided by the preceding Reigning Monarch; it may not be the first-born kits of the royal family. Sadly, in most cases, if there's a son in the family, the daughter would never inherit the power. The current Reigning House is House Saptarishi. The Reigning House may be changed if the Reigning Monarch cannot produce a suitable heir/heiress, in which case, an heir/heiress will be selected from the pool of High Houses.
The Protectors: Made up of Knights/Dames, Soldiers and Shadows. Knights/Dames are considered to be the most elite fighters of the Clan - Knights/Dames are either former Shadows or Soldiers. There will only be two Knights/Dames, one to lead the Shadows, and one to lead the Soldiers. The Knight/Dame that leads the Soldiers would be head of House Draco, while the Knight/Dame that leads the Shadows would also be the head of House Hydra. Soldiers are the offensive fighters, their attacks utilize brute force and aggressive slashes. A Shadow’s line of work is more concerned with the security of the Clan. They utilize illusions and mind games to keep dangers at bay. Their style of fighting involves ambushes, and quick, silent deaths.
The Crafters: Made up solely of Runic-Writers. Their ability has the most freedom. The possibilities are truly endless to what they’re able to do, if only for a short period of time. Crafters are fluent in the Language of Stars, using the runes for a channel for their ability. The Runic-Writers are able to write to “enchant” an object containing light to serve a certain purpose with runes. For instance, they might “enchant” a light-harbouring pebble into a charm that allows the wearer to breathe underwater. To do this, they might write: “breathe underwater” in runes. The charm will last as long as there is still light within it. The Crafters can make charms, traps for prey (although this takes a more skilled Crafter, as more description is needed on the machanics of the trap), wards for protection around SpiritClan premises, and much more. Their only limitation is their own imagination and creativity.
The Healers: Made up solely of Star-Savers, an ability unique to House Cygnus and its Vessel Houses. Cats of SpiritClan are sensitive to starlight-their abilities are quite literally fuelled by it. So, the question becomes, what about during the day? While SpiritClan is no doubt more powerful during the night, however the solution is in the form of a Star-Saver. You see, Star-Savers have the ability to harbour all kinds of light in their bodies. This includes sunlight/moonlight* and starlight. They can then channel this light into an object (take, a pebble for example), which can be acessed by cats with abilities that rely on starlight. Star-Savers are, essentially, a biological battery. Their ability to harbour light also doubles as a healing ability, as they can channel starlight into pretty much anything. This mean, they’re able to channel starlight into cats, directly, as well. When SpiritClan cats are exposed to starlight, they’re given a boost. This means that channeling starlight into an sick/injured cat could cure them. (Hence, why they’re called “healers”).
*I am aware that the sun and moon technically emit the same light (as the moon simply reflects the sun’s rays). I am also aware that the sun is also a star, however, the abilities of the SpiritClan cats were a gift from the celestial spirits. The sun is not part of the constellation, thus it has no effect on SpiritClan cats.
The Hunters: Made up of House Grus, the ever-watchful eyes of SpiritClan. Many of them are restless at being lumped together to do a measly chore, often indignant that other High Houses are belittling their ability. House Grus are made up of Spirit-Walkers; they have the ability to shed their body, and the freedom to roam in spirit form. This form doesn’t have the same limitations a mortal body would have. For instance, they can pass through solid objects, levitate into the air, and instaneously travel to any place they wish. (However, all Spirit-Walkers have a certain range that limits them, the ones with a wider, longer range of travel are usually more powerful and experienced). Unfortunately, it would not be possible to hut prey in spiritual form. However, a practiced hunter can use their spitiual form to observe the prey (what angle it’s at, where its escape routes are, etc.), before striking.
Hunters may also take part in patrols, as it is their responsibility to check the prey-traps the Crafters set.

C E L E S T I A L - S U M M O N I N G
This ability is exclusive to those with royal blood in their veins, only House Saptarishi was given the key to call on any of the spirits that reside within the Celestial Plains. While technically spirits cannot touch anything solid in the mortal realm, a Celestial-Summoner’s summoned spirits are an exception to this rule. Once summoned, the spirit will be a faithful companion to the Summoner. The most common reason for summoning a celestial spirit would be battle purposes, which is why Draco, Hydra, and, obviously, Ursa Major are popular choices for summoning.
As with all abilities, there are, of course, limitations. While a SpiritClan Summoner can call upon any of those that reside in the Plains, the six spirits that are represented within the Clan (by the Reigning House and High Houses) automatically share the strongest bond with the Summoner. (Which, may be why they’re more likely to be called upon). A strong bond between the spirit and Summoner is essential.
A Summoner and spirit can choose to be Bonded to one another. Most commonly, a Saptarishi Summoner will choose one of the six as a spirit to be Bonded to (as they’re already starting on a strong relationship), but there are a few exceptions. Some have chosen one of the thirteen zodiac signs. (Popular ones being Leo, Capricorn and Aquarius). Choosing spirits outside of the six simply means the Summoner must spend more time to cultivate their relationship. Often difficult, but manageable.
The number of celestial spirits that a Summoner can summon determines on their level of experience and strength of their ability. The best Summoners have been able to summon three celestial spirits simultaneously. (Known as the famous Triple Summon). Currently, there is no recorded evidence of a cat being able to do a Quadruple Summon. (Many even believe it to be impossible, as it would use up too much of a cat’s ability and life force). Double Summons also prove to be quite difficult, but most can surpass the milestone with adequate practice. Surpassing anything beyond a Double Summon requires a certain degree of strength one can only be born with.

An ability derived from illusions and mind games. Trickery dances in the blood of House Hydra. Dream-Weaving is an art, and a respected one at that. The scope of a Weaver’s ability is wide, and vicious. They’re able to reach deep into an individual’s mind, and pull out their worst fears, nightmares and insecurities, often exploiting deeply personal information. They feed off of mental imbalance. In essence, their ability is like mind-control, in some sense. Many cats frown upon the sheer brutality of their ability - those who have experienced the influence of a Dream-Weaver are often left in the wake of trauma and paranoia.
While Dream-Weavers dominate the realm of mind games, there is only so much they can use at their disposal. For instance, they cannot read the other cats’ minds, but many are very perceptive. (Which, make them seem a lot scarier than they actually are). As their House saying goes: “If you know a cat’s greatest fear, then you know them completely.” Cats under the influence of a Weaver go into a trance-like state in which their worst fears come to life in their head. While some of the more strong-minded individuals may be harder to influence, no cat is exempt from the mercy of a Weaver. Nobody can break free from a Weaver’s clutches, unless the Weaver stops weaving. While the victim is trapped within their own head, they are immobilized and unaware of their surroundings, leaving the Weaver to do what they please to the victim. The amount of victims a Weaver can influence simultaneously can change with experience and practice. A Weaver is automatically born with the ability to influence one individual. On average, an adult Weaver can influence four to six victims at once.
Emotion is the Weaver’s main arsenal. They play on a cat’s feelings, beliefs and mental stability. While a Weaver usually chooses to pull out a cat’s worst fears, they can also pull out a cat’s greatest wish/dream, as well as any strong opinions/thoughts/beliefs. A Weaver may then pick the victim’s morality bare. For instance, they may choose to show how the victim’s dreams are impossible, or how believing in certain philosophies can lead to exaggerated disaster. It is true that Dream-Weaving is an ability surrounded by smoke and mirrors, but within these frightful illusions, there is often a great truth hidden within them.
Everything looks really cool so far, crafters especially sound really fun!
But, I have an idea to give the reigning King/Queen some of enchanted item to cement their rule and assist them within it, possibly a precious jewel. Like, it could momentarily release their inner potential that levitates around the user when activated because that sounds cool in my head. Don't know how it could still be persisting it's enchantment over such a long period of time, but there's always the option that the previous generation just pours all their... life energy(?) into it for the next. (I'm really going off in the deep end here, just saying the first things that come to mind :'D)
Also, just wanted to propose that there be something besides the usual foxes and such as outside forces to threaten all these super powered cats. It could be some kind of anti-light force or the predators just have abilities of their own, who knows? I just thought it would be weird to have two groups specialized in fighting when all there was to fight were themselves really.

Aeylrue is, to say the least, quite the character. She is very much driven emotionally, yet has no problem making logical decisions when necessary. And said emotions are rather turbulent seeing as Aeylrue is a very expressive and easily stimulated cat. She's never afraid to state what she thinks, and is very confident in that as well as her actions, many times too much. In fact, once she sets her mind to something she almost never deviates from that path, often ignoring any reasonable reasons for her to do so. Aeylrue often gets deeply involved with things, going a bit overboard by taking things to the absolute extremes to make sure what she wants done is done. But typically she's actually a rather friendly yet independant cat, besides of course her tendency to dryly sarcastic remarks and teasing others. But it's just her way of expressing closeness to someone, and if she puts her mind to it she can appeal to just about anyone.

But she could never help but wonder if she had what it took to truly lead, to throw away everything for her people and stand unwavering as a beacon of hope amidst disaster.

Jonaris is, subjectively speaking, a generally good cat. Unwaveringly loyal and compassionate towards others, he wouldn't hesitate to do the right thing purely because it is right. But along with this he carries a naive air as he expects that everyone else would naturally be the same and at times tries to designate "good" and "bad". But often it seems like he hasn't a care in the world, appearing lax in otherwise stressful situations and taking things much too lightly. Jonaris views everyone on the same playing field, only judging them by their strength of character and actions. But this along with his blunt honesty has potential to get him into trouble at times, especially seeing as he has a strong curiosity as well. But, he tends not to let things sway him in the slightest despite his own patient nature, usually not going along with something unless he can completely back it.

Jonaris was born through the union of an outsider to SpiritClan and a member of one of Aquila's vessel houses, although he never met either of them. According to a several accounts, when his mother revealed her pregnancy she had done so because her mate had suddenly died in an unfortunate accident. She had apparently planned to originally run away from SpiritClan with him, but obviously things didn't work out for the pair. As for Jonaris' mother, she simply died during the birthing process, something that probably could've been prevented if she hadn't insisted that she gave birth in private without a healer present. But it isn't like Jonaris minds too much himself, there isn't much to miss of two cats who ruined their futures all on their own.

Rhosyn can often be found making dry, sarcastic remarks Rhosyn isn't cruel in the sense that she wants to do "evil" things, but instead that she is okay with doing them. She wouldn't actively seek to make someone's life miserable, but when she has to do something she doesn't hesitate before acting. Rhosyn usually doesn't attempt something she knows that she can't handle, but at times she just ignores reason and does rather reckless things despite how much she recognises them to be such.

Freyja is a cat who, once she has your back, will always have it. With a quick tongue and quicker claws, she could bring down the most powerful of Protectors with a few simple words. She is very strategic, and never makes a move without considering what might happen afterwards. For this reason, many believe she will be a great ruler - she is responsible and a good ally in battle, because she can predict where the enemy might strike next once their current position is overtaken.
Freyja doesn't lose her head easily. She learned at an early age that royalty does not throw tantrums, and in the moons that followed she managed to master her temper quite well. She is very respectful, even to those of 'lesser' positions, and considers them and their influence with every decision she makes. Freyja almost never makes a decision that would harm someone if she has any other choice.
Freyja has her faults, though. She is intensely stubborn, and has been asked before why she didn't Bond with the Bull, Taurus. She could hold her own in an argument for days - and has, if you want the truth. She's a very sarcastic young molly, and skeptical of those who might try to enter her life without first proving themselves worthy. She doesn't trust easily, which has gotten her into quite a few pickles before.

It surprised only a few when she Bonded to Draco. Her sister is her best friend, and since kits they have done everything together - although they did have friends outside of each other as well. When she was younger, just out of her kit-hood, Freyja fell in love with a young molly she had grown close to. However, the molly showed herself to be manipulative and untrustworthy, and that caused Freyja to become the skeptical Princess that she is today.

Kaolin, or Kao, is as trustworthy as they come - if you have his loyalty and respect, you have it for life. He's smart enough to know who does or doesn't deserve that respect, but he also knows that when someone does, it means he shouldn't take it away unless necessary. Kao is the kind of cat you want on your side, if only because you know that he'll come when you call for help.
Kao is a very ambitious cat - he hopes to one day lead the Shadows as Knight of House Hydra, as he has always wanted to be the best Protector he can. He's proud of his position in the Clan and what he does for them, and he does it with a sense of determination that some lack entirely. He believes in his King and the Royalty, and would protect them with his life if he needed to - which he very well might.
Kao is a very aggressive cat, when the time comes. He has been known to lead with his claws rather than his words on occasion, and he can be quite the cunning fox. Due to his abilities as a Dream-Weaver, he comes across as untrustworthy at first, ironically, because he knows how to make others see what he wants them to see. When frustrated or tired, he tends to become quite curt and has been known to break a few hearts with his harsh words.

Veritas is a quick tom, light on his paws and born with a tongue that could cut apart the most fortified of egos. He's very intelligent, as much a Crafter should be. With a knack for wit and sarcasm, Veritas has often been known to enchant his crafts with prank-like abilities, so that those who use them might find themselves as much with the short end of the stick as those they would use his traps against.
Veritas is a proud tom, especially of his house. Despite coming from a Vessel House, he believes that all cats should have equal chances, and as such is brave enough to use his powers in battle to help those that would defend him. He is a kind tom, known for his patience with the young and his ability to calm someone simply with a few words. He likes to use his abilities to help those in need as often as he has the chance.
Despite his kind demeanor, Veritas is a notably jealous and vengeful male. He envies those with the power, especially House Saptarishi, and vies for their downfall so that those more 'suitable' might take the throne and provide more care and respect to those Vessel Houses who otherwise go unnoticed. Veritas secretly hopes to help lead the rebellion of those long forgotten by the Saptarishi's, and will do anything to help 'the cause'.

Astrid is a Healer, through and through. With a kind heart that could heal even the darkest of souls, and a vicious protectiveness that has left many a ignorant enemy scarred for life, this determined molly is not one to be messed with. She protects her patients with a fierceness only matched by a mother, and she cares for those who need it regardless of who they are, or what they have done.
Astrid is a cat that could calm a storm with words, if she so wished. Her easy-going, even-tempered nature prevents her from losing her cool, and provides her with a motherly aura that helps to keep the sick and injured from losing their heads. She is a very observant cat, able to noticed symptoms that a patient might be attempting to hide, and this has made her a very suitable Healer, indeed.
Astrid , though, has her own faults. She is very trusting and naive, preferring to see the good in everyone rather than admit that a clanmate might simply be evil. Her inability to distrust has gotten her into many skirmishes in the past, though she herself has never harmed anyone. As such, she has been left skittish and shy, unwilling to make new friends for fear that she might watch another cat close to her heart be taken before their time.

Caleo is a strong molly, and has earned her title as Dame of the Soldiers through more than just her family name - she works hard, every day, to make sure that no one can say she is unfit to lead her Protectors. From practicing her strategy-planning to constantly perfecting her fighting techniques, Caleo is a Soldier through and through. She would defend anyone, regardless of statues or moral ambiguity, if she knew they were in the right.
Caleo is not a cat to take for granted - her loyalty comes without fail, and her consideration for others provides her with an ability to help that most cats do not possess. But break her trust, or show her you are unworthy of that loyalty, and you will rue the day you ever wrong Caleo Draco. She is quick, calculating, and she knows how to get into your head, even if she isn't a Dream Weaver.
Stubborn is definitely one thing that comes to mind when one considers Caleo. It might help on the battlefield, but in every day life her stubborn temperament and her pride make her seem arrogant and unwilling to change. She can also be quite reckless, and has gotten herself injured a number of times due to jumping into fights that weren't hers, simply for the sake of doing what is right.

Her father was a legendary member of the Soldiers, and she aspires to make him proud through her protection of her Clan and her glory on the field. Growing up, Caleo never really had time for love, as she was too busy practicing her moves so that she would be ahead of her class during her training. As such, she has never taken a mate, and likely never will, because she fears it will distract her from her duties.

Stelo is a loyal cat, never one to break a promise or lie. He is highly intelligent, able to spot a scheme from a mile away, and with the cunning of a fox, he makes for a great strategist on the field - although, he is still coming into this craft and does mess up occasionally. Despite this, he never gives up, and is always quizzing himself on different ways to turn the tide of a battle without simply attacking the front line.
Like many cats, Stelo is ambitious enough to want more for himself, and determined enough that he just might get it. He doesn't aspire to be a King, though - he only aims to be the best that he can possibly be in whatever he does. He is also very chivalrous, and is known for his knack for helping the elders and the mothers with tasks that many would deem 'unsatisfactory'.
However, Stelo isn't the confident, suave cat that he comes across as in battle. In every day life, he is very insecure and wary of those around him, for fear that they might judge him unworthy of the mantle of Soldier. He is quiet and very skittish, and often will refuse to be the one to start a conversation. Good luck getting him to speak in front of a group unless he's strategizing, because all you'll get from him is mumbling.

꧁ H I S T O R Y ꧂ Stelo has a simple history, a normal life with his family and friends, and no major events so far that would have impacted him greatly. Due to his young age, he's just starting out, so he has no real 'tragic backstory' or 'hero complex' that influences his daily life.

🇳ᴇcʀᴏᴅ🇦🇳cᴇʀ I was thinking somewhere high up-in the mountains perhaps? [So they're closer to the stars]. I was thinking the terrain could be of the more rugged kind. Their home would be a mountain pass that surrounds a cradle of land, where there can some forests and other greenery. Since they live up on the mountains, it'd obviously be a lot cooler in climate. There'd probably be snow. Ooh, and caves. Maybe they have a network of tunnels that connect each cave, too?
