. Artemis Kollsvein . Rider of Juno the Stormcutter [ Misty Backwoods | 𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 's Luca Halvar & Zero ]
A grin spread across her facial features as she realized Luca had taken her hunting comment as a challenge. She hadn’t expected anything less from the otherwise haughty, prideful lad. His prowess might excel in racing, but he was on Artemis’ turf now—hunting, combat, and the occasional feats of strength. These were all her things. She cracked her knuckles and rolled her shoulder, baring her teeth into an almost animalistic smile.
“Well then, remember it’s not my fault when ya loose.”
The statement was immediately followed by Juno’s massive wings beating against the clouds, throwing bursts of strong wind scattering in all directions. The stormcutter had acquired a darker expression, made eerier by her pitch-black gaze, which now eyed the opposing rider intently. She had a dislike for the man and didn’t quite understand why Artemis spent so much time entertaining his vanity and egotism.
Zero was just as annoying, if not more so, and she often found herself simply ignoring the hybrid out of irritation—perhaps the reason to why she had yet to divert her attention to the chimera or, at the very least, greet him. She was his Beta, after all: she didn’t have to willingly engage in confab, nor acknowledge his existence.
Juno observed the Night Fury as he darted down at his rider’s command. Her eyes narrowed and she waited a few moments for the dragon to take some distance between the duo—much to Artemis’ confusion.
“…Girl?” she probed, patting the lingering stormcuttter’s neck. It was then Juno lurched forward violently, folding her wings to her sides and darting down like an arrow across the sky.
Like before, the dragon barrel-rolled and leveled out just before hitting the trees; gliding quietly just above the treetops. This time was different—instead of observing a racing duo from above, she was hunting. Juno had to take her massive shadow and movements into account, else risk the hunting operation.
As a result, she submitted to her natural instincts and selected a tree, briefly hovering before her talons latched onto its main bough. It sagged beneath her weight, though otherwise quieted once it adjusted to the new guest.
Artemis, recognizing the technique, rose from her saddle and began to observe her surroundings with a keen eye. She was uncharacteristically quiet, her mind having been switched to ‘hunting’ mode—whether it was dragon or another animal, it was always a rule to remain deathly silent, the slightest of comments being able to sabotage an entire hunt.

I could see Luca getting kidnapped and all he'd do is complain and flirt with any of their dudes haha Probably not the best candidate.)
Luca watched the other pair work. Artemis and Juno knew what they were doing when it came to hunting. They obviously had more experience than Zero and him. Zero had never been a great hunter, but they had worked on it for a while just to be sure that if it ever came to it the dragon could catch food on his own. The coloring may be flashy, but it wasn't good for hunting.
At his command Zero tilted to the side so he could keep a close eye on the other pair as they soared around nearby. Zero was keeping an eye out for something to hunt. They could continue to fly. Zeros' wings were quiet and he wouldn't be unwise enough to fly just above some prey and alert them to the pairs' presence. Luca watched the other pair for a moment more before he returned his full attention to what they were doing. He could worry about Artemis and Juno later.
Because of the hybrids size, Luca usually would suggest they go for something smaller. Fish were Zeros favorite, and even if he ended up going to the effort of catching something bigger he wouldn't eat the entire thing. But a simple fish wasn't going to win this challenge. If they were going to beat Juno, a much larger and stronger dragon, they'd need to aim higher and catch something with a lot of meat on it.

. Artemis Kollsvein . Rider of Juno the Stormcutter [ Misty Backwoods | 𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 's Luca Halvar & Zero ]
Juno’s frills quivered as she emitted tiny warbles that trembled her throat. The stormcutter’s pupils had dilated to round spheres as her wide eyes took to scanning the forest terrain below—owlish vision giving her an advantage over the animals lurking beneath the treetops. Her sight was fear-reaching and was able to scope out the territory with relative ease.
She wanted something large, something that could comfortably top anything the hybrid could capture in the short span of time. Usually, the hunting parties they were involved in targeted fish—so they lent their shared skill-set by utilizing their strength to haul in nets brimful with still struggling fish, which were ultimately gutted and served on the market. Other times, hunting took the woods, where nimrods preferred to round up boars for fresh pork and bacon. However, none of those animals ever caught Juno’s interest. She only helped because her rider seemed to want to assist those patrols, nothing more.
Back when the stormcutter was wild, she hunted many varieties of big game—and scored a living off of them. She battled for territory and fought for her right for food. At the memory, she became almost amused by her current predicament: catching prey for the sake of a mere competition.
She continued her vigilance, attentive to colors and noise that might rise from a camouflaged mammal. They were always good at staying deathly still if the need arouse, so identifying them from the undergrowth sometimes proved a hassle.
One of her mighty frills quivered and she rotated her head towards the disturbance it had appraised her of—blinking unevenly to reset the far-sightedness of her vision.
She zoomed in slowly, taking note of the tiniest of movements, whether it be a beetle skittering across the surface of a tree or a rabbit rummaging in its burrow. Then, suddenly, she spotted it—a small herd of deer. The group wasn’t large, four in total, and they huddled together, grazing. Juno took them in, observed them, noticed the tiny flecking on one, then the budding horns on another. She immediately took interest in the latter—a young buck, almost a stag ready for adulthood. His antlers had yet to fully mature into their curving, alabaster standard, but they were still rather large and held high as he watched over the mini herd he currently resided in. Juno returned to her self and gave a pleased croon.
Artemis, meanwhile, realizing nothing of interest was in close range, had taken to leaning against her drake’s strong neck—awaiting for her to pick up something. It was then she felt the vibrations her dragon’s proud hum and gave a grin. She returned to her saddle, just in time to witness the gathering of the stormcutter’s mighty wings. And she was off, springing from the tree in one quiet maneuver.
Utilizing her primary wings, Juno soared across the air in an eerily silent manner, her secondary set pressed tightly against her sides. The dragon’s gaze was fixed intently on the ground, unblinking and stoic. There. Coming up before them was the tiny clearing the deer feasted upon. On instinct alone, she folded her wings and swooped down—talons extended in a fashion not unlike an owl diving for a mouse.
The buck realized the danger a moment too soon and his body was plucked from the ground. The two witnessing deer scattered in fright, but it didn’t matter—the dragon had caught what she’d come there for. The animal struggled fruitlessly in her strong grip, giving the occasional bleat of alarm as they climbed higher and higher into the sky. Juno rearranged her grasp, maneuvering her left foot skillfully to the young stag’s neck. With just a strong wave of exerted pressure, Juno snapped the animal’s neck. It immediately fell limp within her clutches, scream abruptly cut-off by death.
Success.

(Hi, I’ll RP later. Currently in class.) { Hai! We look forward to seeing your starters. Lycaonia posted a starter a bit ago, which has yet to be replied to ^^:
Calder Stendahl and Einarr ~ Village ~ With @open The tell-tale rush of a dragon inhaling made those close duck away, just before a stream of burning hot flames rippled through the air. It hit it's target, hissing and spitting as steam erupted from the surface, floating away on the breeze. The Hobblegrunt cut off it's stream of fire, looking with curious yellow eyes at the damage it had done. A frustrated grumble burbled up it's throat, vibrating in the air. Calder shrugged off the slight feeling of frustration that came with being so close to his dragon in a mood, running a broad, calloused hand over Einarr's hide. The action soothed the irate dragon and his scales shifted back towards the bright yellow that usually came with being in his rider's vicinity. "It's alright, Einarr," Calder crooned, rubbing at the edge of the dragon's frill, making him purr under the boy's hands, "You know this stuff is hard to melt, you've done very well today." The Hobblegrunt had just finished using up all thirteen of his shots for the second time that morning and it would take him a while to recharge. Einarr crooned softly in return, butting his head into Calder's stomach. The young viking chuckled, scratching at Einarr's eye-ridges and smiling warmly as the dragon's eye closed in pure bliss at the feeling. Calder's eyes were drawn back to the pillar of ice in front of them. It had been a full week since the Alpha had come to Berk and stolen the will of their dragons. A week since many of their homes had been destroyed. Einarr still twitched at odd times, projecting a feeling of nervousness and looking out to sea, as if waiting for the massive dragon to return. He had also been even more affectionate than usual, which was saying something. Calder guessed he still felt guilty about falling under the Alpha's sway, which was ridiculous. Calder knew that neither of them were exactly Leader material, so Einarr definitely couldn't have pulled a Toothless and broken free. Einarr grumbled, pulling Calder out of his thoughts. The boy laughed, scratched his companion vigorously and swung himself into the saddle. "Come on," He said, nudging his dragon into moving, "Let's go to the stables for a good scale-oiling." Einarr crowed happily in return and trotted off faster, not bothering to fly for such a short journey.

Ryker Vanderson The Visionary accompanied by name dragon stables - Berk dragon - Tempest Bolt tag [ open to interactions ] Ryker was sitting outside of the dragon stables, leaning against the wall. He was rather relaxed, despite how adventurous he tended to be. Surely everyone got tired. Ryker just didn't get tired very often. He was enjoying the sun beating down on his face, despite the chilled air that nipped at his freckled face. He was quite up until Tempest Bolt nudged his arm with his snout. He frowned and open his eyes, looking towards the blue and purple scaled dragon, tilting his head. "What do you need now? Are you hungry again? Because I kind of am, Tempest." Ryker stated before slowly getting up to his feet. Surely he knew he should be hunting with Tempest, but no one really told him to do anything, at least not yet.
Climbing onto the saddle on Tempest Bolt's back, the dragon quickly climbed in altitude. Holding onto the reign like handles of the Skrill's saddle, the two took off back towards Ryker's home. It didn't take long before Tempest Bolt was landing to let Ryker off his back. Climbing down, the curly haired boy ran his hand over Tempest's snout and smiled softly. "Maybe we can go exploring later and lest out a new way to get rid of the ice." He stated before shrugging. He continued to run his hands of the Skrill's scales for a little bit longer while he tried his best to figure out new ideas.
[ agh sorry this is pretty short. I'm not all that good at starters xDD I'll probably add in Tempest Bolt's reply to any dragon later on, if he ends up conversing with someone. ]
☾ Kari Thorsdottir ☽ The Second In Command Dragon ~ Freyja Accompanied by -` percy ´- .✫ 🌊 's Ryker Vanderson and Tempest Bolt Location ~ Center of the Village/Berk
The Commader's Second walked around with a hint of a smile on her lips. She strode through the village's center square as if she owned the place. She watched the children stop in their steps and gaze in awe at her dragon companion. The young woman knew that Freyja loved the attention and would love to play with anyone in Berk really. Kari clicked her tongue though and continued to walk with her dragon stikcing by her side. Kari made her way to a merchant stall where they were selling all assortments of food and treats. The man was kind enough to give the young woman a what one might call a "discount". Kari, of course, rejected it and paid for the fish at regular price with the same kind smile on her face. She could already hear the dragon give an excited trill. With a nod of thanks, the pair departed with a bag full of fish and empty bellies ready to be filled. Whilst walking home, Kari couldn't help but notice the Skrill flying above them. She waved at the rider but it seemed as though he didn't notice. The young woman tilted her head to the side in confusion and raised a brow. She wasn't hurt by the young man not noticing but it felt rather nice to be acknolwegded either way. She looked at the Deathsong that she had grown to love. Her brow raised a bit higher in question. Kari recieved a small bird-like chirp in reply. Guess they were going to talk to Ryker now! They walked to where the Skirll had landed. Kari managed to carry the large bag of fish with no problems whatsoever. As they kept walking, the young woamn decided to pick up speed. Her hair trailed behind her and the armor didn't even seem to weigh as much anymore. She giggled with glee and made sure not to push through people but rather, let them pass. She wasn't in much of a rush so it didn't harm her to let others pass. She just only wanted to see her friend that was all. No rush. Kari made it to Vanderson's home. She slowed her pace and waved at Ryker, "Hello!" She said cheerily, "How are you two this lovely day?" She stopped next to the young man and let the two dragons have some space so they could play. She smiled to her comrade and placed the bag of fish to her side.
☾ Freyja ☽ The Beta Rider ~ Kari Thorsdottir Accompanied by -` percy ´- .✫ 🌊 's Ryker Vanderson and Tempest Bolt Location ~ Center of the Village/Berk
Freyja unfurled her wings at the sight of the other dragon. She trilled happily and mimicked a bird’s song in the morning, a sign that she was especially happy. The Deathsong rubbed her cheek against the Skrill’s and purred softly, ’It’s great to see you!’. She pulled away and wrapped the smaller dragon in a great big hug. Wings and all. Her purring grew louder in doing so and as she pulled away, she chirped like another species of bird. ’How have you been?’ She asked while tilting her head to the side and blinking her doe-like icy blue eyes.

If anyone wants to rp some evil bois I have Percy open)
Luca sighed when they came back up with their catch. He hated to admit it, but that deer was bigger than what they had caught. While Artemis and Juno had looked for their catch Zero had spotted a stray wild boar. It was smaller than the deer, but Luca had decided that it would be a good catch for Zero. Zero had quickly taken out the boar and gripped the animal in his claws.
They had returned to the sky with enough time to see Juno dive and come back up, deer in claws. Scowling Luca called over to them "Fine. You win this round." Zero tilted his wings so he could fly at the same height as Juno. Now that Luca was closer he said "Juno is a fantastic hunter." it was a compliment, though it was said a bit begrudgingly. Luca was over confident, but being overconfident came with knowing true skill. And the pair were good hunters.

Freja and Sailsnap flew down to the group. “Interesting place you got here. I’m Freja, and this is Sailsnap, my Grapple Grounder. What are you up to?” She asked the Vikings.
Sailsnap let out a toothy grin at the new dragons. “My my, what variety we have here,” he murmured to the other dragons.

Freja and Sailsnap went to a shed to get ready for the day. The Viking combed her brown hair with a brush while Sailsnap reached over his back to scratch an itchy scale. Freja then came to her dragon’s aid and helped him scratch his lower back. Scale rot, probably, or some condition that affects dragon scales. Freja sighed. “Oh dear, I’m not that good of a trainer yet. Do you think so, Sailsnap?” The Viking asked her dragon in a sad tone. Sailsnap shook his head. He made a low growl and gently nudged his head against her arm.
Freja went to grab some fish for the Grapple Grounder. However, she did not know where to find fish in this place, or other supplies for that matter. She ended up meandering into the group, lost and confused.

She smiled and lifted the bag of fish she had at her side. She grabbed some cod and walked over to Tempest Bolt with the fish in hand. She scratched the massive beast's chin and dangled the fish in front of his muzzle, "Poor thing, Ryker won't let you eat, huh? Well you can have some fish if you like!" She let the dragon eat the fish and then grabbed another for Freyja. She tossed it in the air and let her dragon gracefully catch it in her mouth. She then dropped a few more on the floor so the two dragons may eat and walked back to Ryker with a teasing expression on her face, "Ha!" Was all she said and put a hand on her hip. After a moment passed, she grew a bit more serious and stood straight up once again, "If you want me to, I can just go in for a drink, honestly I am in no rush since Astera hasn't told me do anything as of yet." Kari just shrugged and shot the boy a warm smile, "All I know I have to do is break the ice so then we can continue with normal lives but I still have to figure out how to do that since Freyja over here can only shoot amber.." The young woman brushed some hair to the side and swept a hand across her forehead. The cold was making her sweat faster and it didn't help that all the clothing she was wearing were rather thin.

Freyja listened to Tempest Bolt as she ate the fish. The sound of a flight just with the two of them sounded rather appealing. The Deathsong thought about for a second and nodded in agreement, "A flight around the island sounds lovely!" She growled happily and nudged her rider with her muzzle. "I'm going to be back soon, Kari!" To the human it probably sounded like a whole bunch of growls and trills. The only part that came out in her rider's language was "Kari". It was a trick that the Deathsonf had learned from a young age. The dragon thought it was a thing only she could do but later the pair figured out that although rare, Deathsong's can speak like humans. The only words Freyja could say though were " Kari", "Freyja", "Your Welcome", " Thank you", and "Good morning", she was still trying to figure out how to say " Good night". Freyja watched as her rider had a slight confused expression but then nodded as if she knew. The Deathsong roared like a Night Fury in response and smiled at Tempest Bolt, "She agreed that we can go!" She roared again, just like a Night Fury and tilted her head towards Ryker, "Will Ryker let you go though? I mean I am big and though but maybe something will attack us and we will never see it coming!"
