Astera Fyrason - Rider of Celestial Solstice the Woolly Howl The Village Forge ᔕɿɱƿՆעᗰעς੮ע 's Ragnol & Dust Devil
The leader had been standing in the line for about ten minutes, and had been at the beginning. You'd assume that as the Wing Commander, she'd get exclusive access, right? Well in this case, yes, she did, but the dark-haired red-head had decided it was better for equality in their Wing, and she had waited in line just like a typical Viking of Berk. She would see youths walk by and give a giggle of joy and happiness, and even the dam would ask if they could speak with the Commander, and delightfully she would agree to communicating to the villagers during the wait. Some would try to touch her companion, Celestia, and the dragon would tolerate it for some good time, but deep within, the leader had known it bothered her Woolly Howl in some way or another. Typically it was known they were harsh and not good for interacting physically, and mostly known for their good, defensive behavior. But instead, Celestial Solstice, was a defender Woolly Howl. She, as the Commander's dragon, wouldn't go anywhere much unless it was absolutely needed.
Or unless they would go out for a ride.
Ever since Chief Hiccup left, Astera has been a bit more dedicated to her job, as she was one of the head Wing Commanders, and she was highly treated with respect. Another reason why? She was chosen by one of the best Wing Commanders you could've ever met. He saw the potential in the days and nights of hard training, and when she was selected, she made an oath to protect Berk and do what everything she could to keep in it good health. When Hiccup left, she made another promise to watch over with her fellow Wing Commanders. She's been working harder than ever since then, and it was over-piling her personal life. She could tell she was beginning to neglect her dragon for the most part, only getting to go on a walk for five minutes before heading back home to sleep or continue on more work.
It made the leader guilty. But nonetheless she continued on with her work. Occasionally she'd find Celestia running off on her own, which considered her dearly, but she knew the "fur"-scaled reptilian was powerful and would be fine. She had been waiting in line for almost thirty minutes now, and she was next. Communicating with yet another mother and her kin, who had just began to walk off when the blacksmith was engulfed into his own dragon's arms and was protected from the explosion of flames. She had jumped, along with the mother and daughter who had been walking away, and scurried immediately to the sound. Astera, watching with curious eyes, let out a breath of relief she had been holding in for the time period when he was finally released. Her own dragon protectively standing in front to prevent any embers from hitting her, even if they were far away. You see, the leader had developed a kind of close bond with the blacksmith, as she'd occasionally come back to request a new sword or a better grip on it, or even to fill in the damages she'd done, because, she was typically found training if not working. She always saw him, and eventually, she grew a slight crush on the architect, wanting to see him more and more, and eventually, she decided to use her sword as an excuse.
Astera waited patiently, observing her comrade with wide eyes as he placed the item he had risked his health to, and watched as the Hooligans ran forward to collect their items. His voice had called out for the next person in line, and with a small smile, she walked up to the station quite shyly. When her warm, honey-pooled optics had taken note he wasn't looking up, she cleared her voice playfully. "Hey Ragnol." Her voice came out smoothly, and with a slight hint of concern, she looked down at her sword and unsheathed it back into its covering. "You should take a break. That fire almost got you, and it's pretty hot over here." The femme paused, looking around and she slightly fanned herself with her left hand. "I'm sure the head blacksmith will let you! You've been working yourself too hard."
Before he could reply, she puckered out her plump bottom lip, just a bit, and pouted. "Please? I don't want you killing yourself today." Her dragon rubbed against her back thighs, knocking her forward just a bit, making her a bit closer than she intended, and backed herself up slightly. She had found herself saying "today" once more, and when they were first becoming friends, he used to question the "today" part. He hadn't been saying it often, so it concerned her slightly. They were both, very vital roles to their village, so it wasn't as concerning because they were, both, occupied.

Sigurd Afargus - Rider of Ladon the Exotic Moldruffle Outside of Berk Lycaonia 's Eerika & Rune
Although he came out here often, Sigurd wasn't very pleased with how busy the village had been. It had been like that for a few days now, increasing on how crowded it was becoming. He didn't want to be in house all day, and instead of questioning of how he could help, he decided he would go hunting later on in the day. This area was quite unique, and was good for just about everything-- hunting, archery, battle training outside of the arena, and even trailing. He had spotted a dragon fly outside of Berk, and instead, decided to follow. Sigurd knew he needed more interaction, instead of just working constantly. With curious aqua optics, Sigurd gently patted the side of his rare serpent's neck, they were lowered to the ground, one of the common dragons of Berk flying past and heading towards home. He was curious as to why the reptilian left, but instead, Ladon flew to the forest floor and approached the femme slowly.
"Would you mind if I asked why you're out here?" His deep tone had a hint of tease. His eyebrows raised and his face seemed to be naturally angry, but instead, his lips raised upwards and his cheeks raised along with them, the under of his eyes rose and curled to create a smile, with straight teeth. He pulled to the side and hopped off of his companion, running his hand through his pulled back hair. It was still wet from his bathing earlier in the day. If anything, his hair never seemed to be dry, as if constantly wet. Not only was it from running water through his clumped locks at least once a hour, but because it had a difficulty drying quickly. He gently rubbed his arms and motioned to the tree. "Mind if I join what you're doing?"

Eerika Ljungstrand and Runa ~ Outside Berk ~ With Sigurd Afargus and Ladon ( 【 ᵗʷᶦˡᶦᵍʰᵗ 】) Runa paused from where she was about to leave, wings outstretched. The Timberjack pulled them in and bent her serpentine body back towards the ground, showing off the large wild boar currently locked between her jaws. Eerika popped her head up, peering at Sigurd around her dragon's long neck. "Good morning, Sigurd," She greeted politely, nodding at the other viking. The ornaments in her hair clicked together gently as she urged Runa back towards the ground. "We were just doing a bit of hunting, taking a break from removing ice," She explained, patting the longbow now attached to Runa's saddle. The pair spent most of their days now helping to remove the ice that coated Berk, Runa's razor-sharp wings and talent for slicing through things being in high demand. Not to mention her size. Runa may have been smaller than most other Timberjacks, but she still had a wingspan larger than the average Monstrous Nightmare, making her perfect for carting away any unusable debris. Eerika looked to the sky as Runa lowered her head to purr a greeting to Ladon, keeping her head slightly higher than the lower-ranked dragon. "Well," Eerika mused, thinking about this request to join them, "We were going to head home, but to be honest, I could use a longer trip. What do you say, girl?" She scratched beneath Runa's jaw and the Timberjack purred her approval of the idea. Runa stashed the boar they had caught earlier in a nearby tree. The pair would pick it up on the way home later. "Anywhere in particular you'd like to go hunting?" Eerika asked the male pair, draping herself over Runa's neck to watch them with half-lidded eyes, admiring the shine and colour of Ladon's strange scales.

Ryker Vanderson The Visionary accompanied by name dragon stables - Berk dragon - Tempest Bolt tag [ open to interactions ] Ryker was sitting outside of the dragon stables, leaning against the wall. He was rather relaxed, despite how adventurous he tended to be. Surely everyone got tired. Ryker just didn't get tired very often. He was enjoying the sun beating down on his face, despite the chilled air that nipped at his freckled face. He was quite up until Tempest Bolt nudged his arm with his snout. He frowned and open his eyes, looking towards the blue and purple scaled dragon, tilting his head. "What do you need now? Are you hungry again? Because I kind of am, Tempest." Ryker stated before slowly getting up to his feet. Surely he knew he should be hunting with Tempest, but no one really told him to do anything, at least not yet.
Climbing onto the saddle on Tempest Bolt's back, the dragon quickly climbed in altitude. Holding onto the reign like handles of the Skrill's saddle, the two took off back towards Ryker's home. It didn't take long before Tempest Bolt was landing to let Ryker off his back. Climbing down, the curly haired boy ran his hand over Tempest's snout and smiled softly. "Maybe we can go exploring later and lest out a new way to get rid of the ice." He stated before shrugging. He continued to run his hands of the Skrill's scales for a little bit longer while he tried his best to figure out new ideas.
[ agh sorry this is pretty short. I'm not all that good at starters xDD I'll probably add in Tempest Bolt's reply to any dragon later on, if he ends up conversing with someone. ]

. Ragnol Ulfketil . Rider of Dust Devil the Sand Wraith [ The Village Forge | 【 ᵗʷᶦˡᶦᵍʰᵗ 】 's Astra & Celestial ]
Still deep in thought, it was his dragon’s rumbling purr that allowed him to regain awareness. He blinked slowly as though dazed, then gave a small, cut-off squeak the moment Dev abruptly lurched forward—excitement exuding off her gritty scales. The blacksmith stumbled as the rush of wind followed suit, his hands clumsily slamming onto the wooden serving platform in front of him for support. “Where are you-” he started, confounded by his dragon’s outburst, before catching sight of who had arrived—Astera Fyrason, his Wing’s commander. The lass was shaping up to make a brilliant leader, one even noticed by Chief Hiccup himself! Having seen her work first-hand, the inventor whole-heartedly agreed to the positive reputation she was renown for. As a result, and despite growing up as kids, the blacksmith recently began acting awkward—even sheepish—when around her. He didn’t want his lowly status polluting her high-ranking one, especially when she went around chatting with her new ‘friends’—fellow commanders of different Wings.
Ragnol immediately straightened, blindly propping his elbow to rest on a nearby column and, just his luck, he missed it. He staggered, falling back into a heap, where he simply awkwardly laughed. Picking up a nearby sword as a coverup, he sprang back up, slamming the weapon a bit desperately on the plank.
“Meant to do that,” he chuckled sweating slightly—though this time it wasn’t the furnace’s heat that made him do so. He continued on rapidly, not registering Astera’s own comment until his question was already out in the open: “What can I do for you, m’lady?”
He paused, retracing the conversation in his head. His face lit up red with embarrassment.
“Oh, you saw that? Heh, sometimes I get ahead of myself with the coal! Good thing Dev over there to save me.”Then he added: “But uh, that’s sweet!” following her statement about avoiding death, though when she added ‘today’ he gave a nervous chuckle, finding it humoring, but simultaneously not. Ragnol peered over her shoulder, noticing nobody else currently resided in the line. He then gave a wary glance behind him, towards the nearby station that held his mentor—the blacksmith in charge. He bit his lip.
“I was gonna ask soon. I feel bad for starving Dev out of adventure, but the vikings need their tools, y’know? I could ask him, but he’s a bit… strict with taking time off. Maybe he’d listen to a Wing commander?”
The blacksmith gave her a hopeful look, wondering if she caught on with the insinuation.{ x } Meanwhile, the Sand Wraith’s wings fanned open, taking to circling the Woolly Howl with an excited trot and a playful temperament. The flecked indigo scattered across her plating glimmered faintly in the sunlight, casting tiny colorful speckles across the ground. Despite being fairly different from most of her kind, the reptile was quite a beautiful sight, her ebony scales rippling like shifting black sand.
The two dragons were childhood friends, courtesy to their riders being close. Nowadays, however, the duo’s meetings were becoming more and more restricted to only the days the Sky Scrapers would assemble, leaving them with little to no time to talk. Still, their bond was strong, and Dev enjoyed Celestial’s company more than she did her other pack members.
She leaned forward, nuzzling her cheek in greeting.
‘Hi! Long time no talk! How are you?’ The dragon bared her teeth in an animalistic smile, though became momentarily distracted by the nearby ruckus of both riders. She cringed slightly.
'Poor Ragnol! He doesn’t seem to know how to interact with his Alpha. I think it’ll be awkward if you became Alpha too, Celestial!'
The reptile glanced over at her friend, wondering how a status change would affect their relationship. By dragon customs, a lot would have to be alerted, especially as her current role of Delta, which didn’t allow for that much interaction with their pack’s leader. She’d have to be moved up to beta, and there was no way she was about to challenge any of the dragons currently holding the position.

Calder Stendahl and Einarr ~ Village ~ With @open The tell-tale rush of a dragon inhaling made those close duck away, just before a stream of burning hot flames rippled through the air. It hit it's target, hissing and spitting as steam erupted from the surface, floating away on the breeze. The Hobblegrunt cut off it's stream of fire, looking with curious yellow eyes at the damage it had done. A frustrated grumble burbled up it's throat, vibrating in the air. Calder shrugged off the slight feeling of frustration that came with being so close to his dragon in a mood, running a broad, calloused hand over Einarr's hide. The action soothed the irate dragon and his scales shifted back towards the bright yellow that usually came with being in his rider's vicinity. "It's alright, Einarr," Calder crooned, rubbing at the edge of the dragon's frill, making him purr under the boy's hands, "You know this stuff is hard to melt, you've done very well today." The Hobblegrunt had just finished using up all thirteen of his shots for the second time that morning and it would take him a while to recharge. Einarr crooned softly in return, butting his head into Calder's stomach. The young viking chuckled, scratching at Einarr's eye-ridges and smiling warmly as the dragon's eye closed in pure bliss at the feeling. Calder's eyes were drawn back to the pillar of ice in front of them. It had been a full week since the Alpha had come to Berk and stolen the will of their dragons. A week since many of their homes had been destroyed. Einarr still twitched at odd times, projecting a feeling of nervousness and looking out to sea, as if waiting for the massive dragon to return. He had also been even more affectionate than usual, which was saying something. Calder guessed he still felt guilty about falling under the Alpha's sway, which was ridiculous. Calder knew that neither of them were exactly Leader material, so Einarr definitely couldn't have pulled a Toothless and broken free. Einarr grumbled, pulling Calder out of his thoughts. The boy laughed, scratched his companion vigorously and swung himself into the saddle. "Come on," He said, nudging his dragon into moving, "Let's go to the stables for a good scale-oiling." Einarr crowed happily in return and trotted off faster, not bothering to fly for such a short journey.

Finally back to my laptop! I have to write a rough draft for my essay and do a quick assignment for my Criminal Justice class so I might be poofy but I will be on!)
Luca nodded and looked down to Zero "We can show some of the new tricks we've been working on." there was a small voice in the back of his head saying that he probably shouldn't push Zero too hard after they had practiced, but the loud voice urging him to show off was much more convincing. Zero seemed to agree and was more than ready to show off the skill he had honed through hours of practice. Luca eventually came to a consensus and decided that they would do some of their easier tricks and save the best ones for a real performance that everyone could see.
Because Zero was a very fast dragon he had had some problems with turning fast enough so at times he might brush against a branch or nearly crash into something. That would slow him down. Toothless and Hiccup didn't seem to have a problem with that and Luca had been pushing training so they could get better at it.
"Alright Zero, dive." Zero tucked in his wings and they plummeted towards the ground. The short routine would show off their ability to fly through the denser parts of the forest without losing their speed. Zero opened his wings and leveled out just above the ground as they shot towards the trees like an arrow. As they weaved through the trees Luca kept an eye out and through subtle movements and signs would tell Zero when he needed to bob or weave.
When they came to another break in the forest Luca signaled for Zero to pull up and give another demonstration of his over dramatic spins and rolls in the air. They may have seemed overly complicated but Luca had only been practicing tricks that would help them in a race. Rolls to better catch things from the ground or to dodge. The loops were a good way to pick up speed without flying higher. Things like that.

Astera Fyrason - Rider of Celestial Solstice the Woolly Howl The Village Forge ᔕɿɱƿՆעᗰעς੮ע 's Ragnol & Dust Devil
Elegant curls were gently brushed behind her ear as she continued to watch the scene portray before her, the way he had still been distracted bothered her, but once she had spotted Dust Devil lunge forward, she immediately knew it would catch his attention. As on cue, the creature excitedly bounded over towards the darker dragon, to which, Celestial gave a small roar of delight, the crevices of her eyes turning upwards showing attraction towards the opposing female. A decently pale hand gently patted the top of her dragon's head, and she turned her attention back to the person she was seeking to see. To his words, she curled her arm inwards and gave a small wave, her smile on her face never ceasing. She remembered when they first met, she was more shy than ever, and if anything, she was always clumsy around him. Astera grew out of it quickly, becoming the determined girl she is now, however, you could still see her moments.
Her eyes widened as she quickly realized where his elbow was about to rest, and she quickly noted to him. "No-no-no Ragnol you'r—" She cut off as he missed the designated area to rest his elbow upon. She frowned, but watched his recovery as he continued to try to play off the moment. The sword landed on the counter with a low 'thck', the 'k' giving off the metallic cry of the object.
The femme continued to observe the distracted architect before her honey-colored eyes. She nodded when he was going over her previous sentence and gave a smile to his now reddened face. "I'm pretty sure everyone saw that." And to his second reply, she frowned, possibly about the fact that he didn't remember how close they used to be, and how misplacing with her words she could be around him. With a nod, she scooted forward past him. "I'll be back out." The statement was more directed to her companion than anything, but also a reminder to her friend. With that, she walked into the area where the head blacksmith was, and she gave a friendly smile.
Astera walked back out no more than two minutes later, and to Ragnol, she gave a thumbs up. "He said this wasn't a great time, but it wouldn't be too bad. I offered him a day I can make up for, anything really, including a day where I'd help out with you blacksmiths. Since I did take a class while training. Granted, I'm not very skilled at it, I can learn fast from one of the bests." As her last words came out, she felt her face get hot— blaming it on the heat of the 'ovens' that these creators had used, but deep down, she knew that complimenting him, he would take it as something normal. Another reason she offered the chairman of draughtsman to work a day with them, was not only to enhance her education on crafts, but because she could get another day nearby Ragnol. "He had no problem with it at all. Although he did hesitate, my offerings made him change his mind."
~ The dragon was delighted to see her friend. Her wings, too, unfurled from their cozy position of resting against her sides, but instead of circling, Celestia watched the opposing femme circle her. She admitted, Dust Devil was quite the interesting character, and due to their riders having a bond, Celestia had grown close to Dev. No matter how often they saw each other, growing up would've casted a close relationship between the two, that would be inseparable.
The Woolly Howl had nuzzled against Dust Devil more, and slightly began to rub her rounded cranium against her confidant's sandpaper-like neck. 'Long time no talk! I'm quite alright, although I really miss going out for walks. Maybe today will be the day? Astera really was excited to go.' She paused, looking over to see the awkward event of the two reuniting. A low coo erupted from her throat as she looked at her rider lovingly. 'Why? Does Ragnol not like Astera?' Her head tilted slightly, and her vibrant lavender eyes had dilated pupils who stared at her fellow reptilian curiously. Was it awkward because Ragnol did not like her rider? If anything, the Commander's dragon was curious of whether or not the architect was romantically interested in Astera. He had, at one point, seemed to be, but the Woolly Howl was slightly unaware of how humans would express their attraction to one another. After all, Astera hadn't had a boyfriend ever since she owned Celestia, and she had never known if before then, either. Celestial Solstice was just hoping Dust Devil would reveal some information about how Ragnol feels, so she could know whether or not to aware her rider.
She was taken out of thought once Dust Devil asked her another question, and she bared her teeth in a joking manner. 'I don't think it would be weird. Do you really think it would?' The brunette-scaled molly turned to her friend, her eyes expressing all her curiously.
{ & }
Sigurd Afargus - Rider of Ladon the Exotic Moldruffle Outside of Berk Lycaonia 's Eerika & Rune
Since the dragon was presumed to have disappeared, Sigurd was taken aback at the sight of the Timberjack. He didn't jump or flinch, and instead, gave a warm smile to the creature. His own dragon, Ladon, sniffed at Runa and softly cooed at her, in his gentle greeting instead of invading her space. "Yeah? Removing ice gets so cold." Sigurd let out a low chuckle at his own joke and nodded to her. "Removing ice with a Timberjack? She'd do good at wood collecting, since typically it's warm out in the woods, where they mostly grow up, right? I'm impressed. She's a beautiful Timberjack too."
Sigurd's eyes widened at Eerika's response, and before he could tell her that he was okay with not going and to follow her back home, the woman only agreed with him, and decided for a longer journey. "The Misty Backwoods is good for hunting too. This area connects to it eventually, but they're not quite the same woods. Wherever you'd like to go, I'm okay with. We can even stay here, and just deeper into these woods."

☾ Kari Thorsdottir ☽ The Second In Command Dragon ~ Freyja Accompanied by -` percy ´- .✫ 🌊 's Ryker Vanderson and Tempest Bolt Location ~ Center of the Village/Berk
The Commader's Second walked around with a hint of a smile on her lips. She strode through the village's center square as if she owned the place. She watched the children stop in their steps and gaze in awe at her dragon companion. The young woman knew that Freyja loved the attention and would love to play with anyone in Berk really. Kari clicked her tongue though and continued to walk with her dragon stikcing by her side. Kari made her way to a merchant stall where they were selling all assortments of food and treats. The man was kind enough to give the young woman a what one might call a "discount". Kari, of course, rejected it and paid for the fish at regular price with the same kind smile on her face. She could already hear the dragon give an excited trill. With a nod of thanks, the pair departed with a bag full of fish and empty bellies ready to be filled. Whilst walking home, Kari couldn't help but notice the Skrill flying above them. She waved at the rider but it seemed as though he didn't notice. The young woman tilted her head to the side in confusion and raised a brow. She wasn't hurt by the young man not noticing but it felt rather nice to be acknolwegded either way. She looked at the Deathsong that she had grown to love. Her brow raised a bit higher in question. Kari recieved a small bird-like chirp in reply. Guess they were going to talk to Ryker now! They walked to where the Skirll had landed. Kari managed to carry the large bag of fish with no problems whatsoever. As they kept walking, the young woamn decided to pick up speed. Her hair trailed behind her and the armor didn't even seem to weigh as much anymore. She giggled with glee and made sure not to push through people but rather, let them pass. She wasn't in much of a rush so it didn't harm her to let others pass. She just only wanted to see her friend that was all. No rush. Kari made it to Vanderson's home. She slowed her pace and waved at Ryker, "Hello!" She said cheerily, "How are you two this lovely day?" She stopped next to the young man and let the two dragons have some space so they could play. She smiled to her comrade and placed the bag of fish to her side.
☾ Freyja ☽ The Beta Rider ~ Kari Thorsdottir Accompanied by -` percy ´- .✫ 🌊 's Ryker Vanderson and Tempest Bolt Location ~ Center of the Village/Berk
Freyja unfurled her wings at the sight of the other dragon. She trilled happily and mimicked a bird’s song in the morning, a sign that she was especially happy. The Deathsong rubbed her cheek against the Skrill’s and purred softly, ’It’s great to see you!’. She pulled away and wrapped the smaller dragon in a great big hug. Wings and all. Her purring grew louder in doing so and as she pulled away, she chirped like another species of bird. ’How have you been?’ She asked while tilting her head to the side and blinking her doe-like icy blue eyes.

. Ragnol Ulfketil . Rider of Dust Devil the Sand Wraith [ The Village Forge | 【 ᵗʷᶦˡᶦᵍʰᵗ 】 's Astra & Celestial ]
The inventor’s gaze intently tracked the commander’s movements as she vanished into the neighboring station. He raised a hand, index finger outstretched, mouth somewhat agape, posture slanted a bit forward—all the body language of a guy who had something to say, but couldn’t get it out in time. He slumped a bit with a rather dramatic sigh. When he had said his comment, he’d meant for the both of them to speak with the blacksmith in charge, not for her to go alone and face his potential grumpiness at the thought of allowing one of his fellow workers a day off. In fact, he worried that if she said something unintentionally wrong, his boss would never allow him the liberty of a day off. His arms fell stiffly to his sides and he leaned back, elbows propping up against the serving plank for a better, more comfortable position—though it was somewhat apparent he was nervous. His leg kept moving in an agitated manner, with his foot tapping the floor every now and again. Ragnol didn’t have to wait long. No less than two minutes later, Astera was walking out. He held his breath, expecting bad news, but immediately relaxed when she gave him two thumbs up and a run-down on what had happened. “Aww, you didn’t have to do that Ast. I can always take a double shift for you if you really don’t want to work at the forge. Things can get really nasty here and don’t you have Wing duties to attend to?” His question was very sincere, and genuine concern showed on his face. He didn’t want his friend biting off more than she could chew, especially since being a commander meant a lot of responsibility.“But! Now that we’re free, where would you like to go? I heard the bay is very relaxing this time of year and then later we can meet up with the rest of the Sky Scrapers at the Cove.” { x } Drawing her wings back to her scaled sides, she continued to watch the interaction unfold before her. Dev had to admit, Ragnol was now looking a bit more comfortable. He didn’t seem to have fed into the awkward temperament that had lent him to falling down right in front of his Alpha. She winced at the thought of face-planting when Asgeir was around. He’d probably demote her then and there.
‘Huh? Oh no! Ragnol has no problem with Astera. Quite the contrary, if you ask me. I guess he just doesn’t know where he belongs. I mean, the two grew up together being equals. I guess it throws him off she’s Alpha now and he doesn’t know how to interact with that. He isn’t even her Beta like Kari is. Maybe that hurt, not being chosen to co-lead with her? I dunno. I think it’s mostly him being afraid he’ll do something wrong now that’s she’s part of something important and that might lead to people mocking their relationship. He’s trying to look out for her since he thinks he’s a screwup. Poor Ragnol. He’s perfect in my eyes.’ She gave a little sigh, wings slumping slightly. She didn’t like her rider’s insecurities, not because she found them stupid, but because it hurt her that he was hurting. ‘How does Astera feel about Ragnol, by the way? Though she conveys it differently, she seems a little awkward around him too! Does… Does she want Ragnol as a mate?’
It had occurred to the dragon that both riders could be hiding their feelings for one another—hence even feeding into more awkward sentiments. Human mating customs were odd. When they like each other, it’s a secret they keep. How then, is the other human supposed to know they are liked? Dragons usually took on a mate for the mating season and that was that—unless the species was one of the few that mated for life, like that of her own. Still, even monogamous dragons declared their love quickly after developing them. They aren’t usually that shy about it.
The Sand Wraith playfully bared her teeth right back. She then gave a thoughtful pause, and then an honest answer. ‘Well, yeah! I’m a Delta and even I am not allowed to have personal talks with the Alpha. If I wish to speak with an Alpha about matters unrelated to their leadership, a Beta will have to relay my message—but only if they see fit. And you’d have to be set under the same rules, which Betas usually teach the new Alpha. So they’ll disapprove of us having a friendship and deal with it as they see fit. Plus you’ll have other duties to worry about than silly ol’ me.' She shrugged. 'Dragon customs are strict.'
