{{ @angelfur + ƤαƖƖαѕ ✧ -- to make the plot a bit more lengthy, how about we make it that they join the supply run, manage to pick up a dead zombie and work with that for a bit, but find out it doesn't work, to start with. Realising they need an alive zombie/infected person who hasn't turned, they pitch that to the leader because they'd need approval, and Simon can volunteer and we have a bit of dramatm with that and then so that no one actually has to purposefully infect anyone, we can have a zombie hoard break into the school and bite someone that way the stakes are higher and more people can be involved in the plot. Thoughts?
. -- I kinda wanna play around a bit with Ellie if we can do Ellie and CJ for now - she's got a starter up on page 2. We'll add in Cam and AJ soon (:
sempis -- it has been a week since you asked to claim the fighter trope, and you haven't posted since, so I am going to free up the trope for someone else to claim. If you want the character, you are going to have to claim it again and post a joining form. }}

CJ groaned as he woke up, looking over at AJ's sleeping body beside him. Sighing, the male ran his fingers through his blond hair and then looked over to make sure AJ was alright. Normally she was up first, but she'd been really sick the night before and he was going to let her sleep as long as she needed. Once he saw that she was okay, he got to his feet and ran quickly towards the bathroom. Once he was done in there, he sighed and decided to go for a walk. There wasn't much to do these days and he hated the boredom. Of course, it didn't help that plenty of people disliked CJ. AJ was always the likable one and CJ was just the overprotective big brother. He'd been friends with the guys on his team, but none of them seemed to be around anymore. So, of course, poor CJ was on his own. He stuck his hands in the pockets of his jeans and continued to walk through the halls, almost longing for the chaotic school morning halls. At least then he wouldn't be fighting for his life. Eventually sighing, he decided to head outside. Kids were surprisingly tolerable for him. They didn't judge like teenagers and adults did. He looked over when he saw someone else, relaxing slightly when he saw who it was. While he didn't interact with Ellie much, he knew that she was one of the few people he considered tolerable. "Hey... whatcha up to?" he asked, his voice slightly hoarse from sleep. It was no secret that he'd just woken up from the cloudy eyes to the messy hair of a normally well groomed high schooler. υиdεяcσνεяѕнεяlσcк

{{ . -- lol at CJ considering Ellie as tolerable - most would disagree XD this is going to be great (: }}
Ellie Jacobs "the glass is neither empty nor full. it is what it is. a glass." Ellie had not been at the outdoor courts for long. In fact, she had barely just sat down on one of the table/seat benches that lined one edge of the courts, sitting on the table whilst her feet rested on the seat portion. She had been right when she had thought that no one had been watching the early-rising young kids, who were currently playing a highly competitive game of line tag. Already, in the short time she'd been there, there had been two collisions from people not looking where they were going. No injuries though, so the game had continued on. She was becoming invested in the game, not really paying much attention to her surroundings, something she really should have been doing, and so she didn't see CJ walk up, and in fact, only heard him when he spoke. Her eyes snapped away from the game, and she almost jumped, almost, but managed not to, instead turning her head to look at the new comer. Before the apocalypse, CJ had been in the same grade as her, but they'd never really had much to do with each other. "What do you think?" She asked, slightly amused at the slightly dishevelled appearance of CJ. "Watching the kids. It's a heated game right now." She added on, nodding slightly towards the kids, her gaze flicking back to them for a second. "Sleep well?" She asked, a slight laugh evident in her voice, and amusement written in her slightly raised eyebrows. It wasn't that she was necessarily laughing at CJ's appearance, but more so the fact that when things had been normal, she had been so used to seeing him more...put together.

"I know, me too," Simon nodded in agreement "thinks were so much better then."
He did wish things could go back to the way they had been, but at the same time he couldn't help but think that it was nice that he was able to make a difference. Before the apocalypse, what fifteen-year-old would be able to do anything meaningful or make a difference? How age mattered a little less and he had the opportunity to help develop a cure and make a real and permanent difference to the world in which he lived.
He really need to think too much in response to the other male's question; he nodded almost immediately.
"Sure! why not?"

"Alright let's go." Icarus said with a sigh as he rubbed the back of his head.
He of course took the lead cause he had taken time to learn the map of the school and the best ways to get to certain locations. Yes he was a total nerd and a total geek. Then again maybe he did it in case he wanted to leave without being caught, he at one point was ready to feed himself to the zombies but now he realized the only reason he stayed was because of Simon, albeit he did not know it at the time but the other male was his grounding, his reason to continue forward and never step back.
Once they arrived to the door leading to the roof he looked back to make sure Simon was still behind him before opening the door and walking out onto the roof. Past the school was bad but it did not matter, he was ready. He looked at Simon before hesitating then trying to form the words but nothing came out. Maybe not today...

(Ellie deserves a friend and most people don't like CJ either so it's okay XD) CJ liked children... usually. He had practically raised his little cousin, actually. And he still treated AJ like she was a child, despite his sister being 16 years old. But his tolerance of children was often a part of him that surprised others. He was a typical high school jock, with the same arrogant personality as one would expect. Despite that, he loved children. Sometimes. He watched the game as he sat down beside Ellie, propping his feet up. "Pretty intense game, huh?" he asked, watching as there was another collision between the children. One fell down and began crying, and CJ was about to get to his feet when one of the other kids helped the first one up. It didn't take long for the first one to wipe her tears and then get back into the game with the other children. He raised an eyebrow at her tone and then shrugged. "Not really. AJ wasn't feeling well last night so I got up and kept checking on her throughout the night." He bit his lip slightly. "She's alright though. Don't tell anyone." He was worried panic would spread if his sister got sick and she'd be killed or outcasted in case she was infected by whatever was turning the zombies. "What about you?" CJ ran his fingers through his hair, knowing he wasn't exactly the well groomed and proud jock he'd been before the world had seemed to end. υиdεяcσνεяѕнεяlσcк

[For everyone else I've also got Iris and Fran open]
Simon followed the other boy up onto the food, finding himself relieved to have a little bit of fresh air. It was good to be able to get out of the building. As much as he loved working in the labs and making a difference, it often got very crowded and stuffy inside the building and going onto the roof allowed him to take some time away from everything.
It looked like the older boy was going to say something but then changed his mind, so Simon turned his gaze in the morning air out onto the landscape around them. He wished more than anything that everything was back to the way it had been, that Simon would wake up at home and this would all have been a dream. He'd go down and have breakfast with his parents and Iris before rushing out of the door - inevitably late - to get to school. He just wanted some normalcy.
"Do you think we can really all survive this?" Simon asked, not looking at Icarus but instead the view "Do you think we'll just keep holding them off?"

"Do you think we can really all survive this?" Simon asked, not looking at Icarus but instead the view "Do you think we'll just keep holding them off?" Icarus sighed before following Simon's gaze. He liked the boy, he knew that now but he had no idea how to bring it up or even mention anything about it. "Hey at least this is sort of a new start for well everything? LGBT people don't have to worry about being hated and woman no longer need to fight for rights? During the apocalypse we are all equal. Every last one of us. That is something beautiful." That should be a good way to possibly bring it up. "Personally maybe this is God's way of saying, it's time to restart and bring people together."
The air was chilly which caused him to shiver of course but it wasn't entirely bad, the cold let him know he was alive and he had a job to do. Glancing at Simon he smiled slightly before looking back at the view. But that job could spare a few minutes...right now he would rather be here with Simon. Even if there wasn't much of a chance of it happening he could always dream a moment and that was beautiful.

{{ . -- so sorry I didn't end up replying last night, but here you go! Will reply to Jake and Britt as well (: }}
Ellie Jacobs "the glass is neither empty nor full. it is what it is. a glass." Ellie returned her focus back to the game as CJ sat down beside her on the bench. She was kind of unsurprised by this point as another collision happened in front of them. That made three. But hey, they were children and they were pretty resilient, the fact that they were even laughing as they placed this game in the middle of an apocalypse proof enough of that. That was part of the reason that Ellie actually didn't mind children, they, in a way, were all realists just like her, knowing that there was no point in dwelling on the bad things when there was so many more interesting things to be doing. She too, had gone to move at the initial collision and tears, sitting up a little straighter as if she'd been about to stand, but as the game partially paused and the little girls tears tried, she relaxed again, hands resting behind her as she leaned back slightly. That was the other thing about the apocalypse surprisingly, the sun didn't seem to shine so bright, and so days like this when there wasn't a cloud in the sky were rare. She didn't know what it was about the virus, or even if it was the virus at all, more likely simply her own perception of the weather conditions, but she planned to take full advantage of the sun while she could. Ellie stilled however, as CJ admitted that he hadn't slept particularly well, explaining that AJ hadn't been feeling well. That could mean a few different things. She didn't say anything as he continued, saying that she was alright and asking her not to tell anyone. Now that could be a problem. If AJ was infected, then they should put her into quarantine before she could infect anyone else, like she probably already had CJ, but on the other hand, it was equally, if not more likely, that AJ was simply under the weather. The constant stress for everyone in this new situation had taken its toll on them all, this might just be AJ's turn. Stress worked in mysterious ways. After a few moments hesitation as she considered these things, Ellie dipped her head slightly. "I won't tell anyone. Yet." She said. "If she gets worse, then...well...I'm making no promises." She added on, knowing that it would be worse to lie, but also figuring that CJ would be able to understand where she was coming from. Even if she was his sister, he couldn't expect her to let an infected person run loose around the safe haven they had built to infect everyone else. "Better than you, apparently." She muttered as CJ asked how she had slept. "It's surprising, though. The amount of waiting around that goes on in an apocalypse." She added on lightly. "We should probably organise another supply run soon though." As one of the older people still at the school, Ellie was part of the discussions about the decisions that needed to be made, such as organising supply runs. It was becoming common knowledge that their supplies were running low, so something did need to be done, and relatively soon.

“Maybe you’re right,” Simon nodded “I only hope we get the chance to truly restart. I don’t intend on being stuck here forever.”
After all, it could by God’s way of saying they should create a more equal society, but it could also be God’s way of saying he was getting rid of humanity. And a lot had been sacrificed for what little they had right now. Was it worth it?
When Simon saw the other male was cold, he shrugged off his jacket (he wasn’t that cold himself) and put it around Icarus’ shoulders. Simon would be totally fine, for a little while at least.
“Iris will probably kill me for going out on this supply run,” Simon said with s smile “but I think it needs to happen. I need to get out of here for a little and get some time out of the lab, and I think you do too. And we need some material for testing”

He had jumped slightly when Simon put his jacket on Icarus. Was it just him being nice and protective? Or was it more? "I wouldn't mind it being this way forever. As I'm here with you." His eyes widened when he said that and he thought of a way to fix it but instead he said nothing. He had no reason to take it back because it was how he truly felt.
"No one would care if I went and it's true we have to get a specimen. If not then a cure may never happen and I'm not letting that happen." The male said with determination, maybe he had more courage and determination because he told Simon he doesn't mind all of this as long as he was with him.
