Lorelei Young — 20 She is a very attractive young woman, a little taller than average height. She has curly brown hair down to her shoulders and dark brown eyes. She has been in a few scrapes before and has a scar on her waist moving in towards her stomach. Another on her collarbone, and another along her jaw. But other than that her skin is smooth and she has no freckles. Her work is a little less dangerous as it mainly involves exploiting her good looks for the benefit of Hades. She is witty and intelligent, but cynical and snarky. She can be mean but this is only out of desperation to regain her freedom and she certainly does not enjoy harming others. Unfortunately, she doesn’t really have much of a choice in the matter

Oh, good question. Hm...well, I figure it's important enough that Hades even wants it stopped. Could be for an artifact of some kind? And Hades wants it for himself?))

“If I had a paygrade, this would be way below it,” Lorelei Young muttered to herself as she sat by a lakeside, sitting on a rock and examining her nails. It wasn’t time yet, she had a little bit of time to wait yet. It was, after all, about setting a trap.
“I heard that,” responded the voice of Hades, who was leaning against a nearby tree “Lori, I do tire of this particular conversation. We’ve been over it so many times before it’s starting to get old. The arrangement is that you do what I say, and I give you your freedom one day. Oh, and your old flame gets to remain alive and free too. Not that you got much thanks for your sacrifice, now did you? Unless you call running off with another girl thanks.”
Lorelei winced internally. She didn’t like thinking about that. She preferred to think of herself as a relatively level-headed girl. She was realistic and no romantic daydreamer. But it only took love to change all that. And she’d only gotten hurt, and she’d vowed not to let herself be vulnerable like that again. She needed to protect herself from that. This distancing herself from emotion and vulnerability was probably why she felt okay about helping Hades. The people she was hurting were just naive, they had made the same mistake she had and they’d suffered for it.
“Yes, yes, the old blackmail speech. You’ve got my soul, blah blah blah. Just don’t call me Lori, it’s weird that you’re calling me by a nickname.” the girl replied
“Who cares. She’s coming, I can feel it. Now just hurry up and sort this out. Play the beautiful little damsel in distress, get rescued, and then the rest should be easy for a smart girl like you. There’s a giant in that cave, I’ll summon him.” Hades responded before vanishing into smoke
Exploiting her looks as a way to help Hades get his way. Not Lorelei’s most classy job, she had to admit.
But she didn’t have time to think about that because suddenly a giant was hurtling towards her out of a cave near the lakeside, and before she knew it she had been swept up in one hand. She was capable of taking care of herself, of course, when she had a weapon, but the whole idea here was to let herself get into danger so this Crystal girl could save her from it.
Which was why she let out a scream loud enough to attract any would-be heroes in the vicinity, meaning that if Crystal was anything like Lorelei thought she might be, the other girl would come crashing through the trees any moment now.

I haven’t decided on the artefact yet so I’ll just be a moment to choose)

Crystal sighed softly as she moved through the underbrush of the light forest around her. She'd been in worse, that's for sure, but she was kind of tired of it all. She'd been on so many quests at this point that all the wonder and excitement had left her. She saw them as chores now, as nothing special. Just jobs that needed to be done. Maybe she shouldn't have gotten so good at getting them done. A hand drifted up to her necklace, fiddling with the beads there. There were quite a few there, and it only showed how much she'd done for the gods. She was good at what she did.
She let her hand drop as she pushed through an overgrown bush. She almost wished someone had come on the quest with her, if only so she had some company. But the gods had been very specific about how many demigods were allowed on the quest, and that number was one. It was almost like the quest had been picked for her, not the other way around. She needed to find a way to retire or something. Was that even possible? Could you retire from service to the gods? She could always refuse the next quest, but that felt like a big mistake. She needed to figure this out.
A scream pulled her from her thoughts. There shouldn't be anyone else out here, and she doubted that any animals were going to be that aggressive from what she'd experienced so far. She couldn't just ignore it though. She took off at a run, pushing through brush and tree branches. Why did there have to be so many in the way? She finally broke into a clearing and squinted her eyes to adjust to the sudden direct sunlight. Then said eyes widened at what she saw. A giant. Holding a mortal girl. Not good. She activated her bracelet, the shield appearing in a flash of light. She also pulled the baton from her belt, hitting a button that caused it to grow into a javelin with a flash of lightning. "Hey ugly!" she shouted, her voice heavy with her accent. "How about you pick on someone your own size!" And with the she charged. She knew exactly how to deal with giants. Slow and dumb.

Hello! I’m gonna start to work on a reply.
I still really can’t decide though I think we could just go with the Titans thing purely because that’s a solid idea and I can’t really think of anything else unless you have any other specific ideas)

Ah, so predictable. There she was, right on cue. The heroine come to save Lorelei from the big brute of a giant.
Just another day at work. She couldn’t have just gotten herself a nice office job, now could she? No, she just had to sell her soul to Hades.
As she ‘struggled’ in the giant fist holding her, she stopped still as the demigod shouted to catch the giant’s attention and pulled out a javelin. It didn’t take a genius to figure out Crystal’s plan, which was fine because giants weren’t exactly geniuses. Crystal struck Lori as intelligent, but it was clear that she didn’t really need to come up with a cunning plan for the charging giant.
It was an easy target, and far too slow to evade Crystal’s incredibly quick attacks. Which was why moments later the giant went crashing into the water of the lake, Lorelei still inside his fist.
It took a breathless moment for the girl to fight her way out of the giant hand and up to the surface of the water, but once she was there she cooly headed out of the water onto the shore of the lake, squeezing out her soaking hair as she smirked at Crystal. She had this all under control. Play it mysterious, hard-to-get. She wasn’t going to pretend to be a simpering little maiden like the kind in ancient storybooks. This was the 21st century after all.
“Pick on someone your own size? To a giant?” Lori joked, shaking her head slightly “You need to come up with some better trash-talk.”
But her smirk grew into a genuine smile as she offered a hand for Crystal to shake. Now it was time to be nice so she didn’t come across rude. She’d made her witty little comment but now she needed to actually try and charm this girl a little bit. Show she wasn’t mean.
“But in all seriousness, thank you for saving me. That was, uh, amazing. My name’s Lorelei, but everyone calls me Lori.” the girl said
The game was afoot.

Crystal couldn't believe how easy it was to kill the giant. Normally they fought a little harder, especially if this was their land. Instead she used a combo attack with her shield and javelin to take out the legs, then jumped off the giant itself to plunge her javelin into its neck. It had barely reacted to her presence except to charge, let alone try and kill her once she was close enough. She was extremely confused. She dismissed her shield as the giant fell, then tried to get to the girl before the giant hit the water, but failed. She was about to dive into the water when the girl exited.
The daughter of Zeus stepped down from the body, letting her javelin change back into a baton. "I don't exactly focus on the trash talk when it comes to a fight. I focus on winning it." She slipped the baton back into its pouch on her belt and looked the girl over. She looked at the girl's hand, then her face. She then slowly took her hand and shook it slightly, her hands were a bit rough from the calluses she'd built up through so many years of combat. "It wasn't that amazing." She wasn't being humble either, that had been nothing. It was almost too easy. "I'm Crystal."
Crystal wanted to leave now, get back on the road, but she had to know. "What are you doing out here by yourself?" Then another thing clicked in her mind. This girl saw the giant, saw her weaponry. She also seemed far too calm for what had just happened. A normal mortal would still be freaking out. "Why are you so calm after what happened? What did you see?" She needed to know if the mist affected this girl. If not, that might change things.
