Hello! I've been sitting on an idea for 3 tribes for a while now and would really like to share it with you all.
(Heavily inspired by Horizon Zero Dawn.)
I would very much like this to be a 3 tribe RP, but due to this website's somewhat low activity, it may end up being a 2 tribe RP. (Prove me wrong)!!
The Tribes.
Three tribes reside in a bountiful forest full of rivers and different species of trees. The River Tribe claims the forest's largest streams and water systems for their hunting. They value love and each other over all else, and worship their tribal ancestors. The Leaf Tribe takes up a majority of the forest's meadows and massive trees. They worship their goddess All-Mother, and prioritize her rules over all else, including themselves. The Shade Tribe thrives in the darkest parts of the forest, making nest under pine trees and low-hanging branches. They worship the earth and all of its life, grateful to it for providing them with prey to eat, herbs to heal, and moss to rest in at night. These tribes have agreed not to interfere with another's religious beliefs and politics, and have managed to be peaceful neighbors for generations. Until recently...
Conflict.
The Leaf are known to be the strictest of the tribes. When a kit is born with no mother to feed and nourish it, it is cast out of the tribe alone for All-Mother to decide its fate. So in fear of such happenings occurring, it is frowned upon for sickly and elderly cats to become pregnant, as the likelihood of one surviving a kitting is unlikely. Luckily, in the rare event of said situation occurring, there has mostly been surrogates available in the nursery to care for motherless kits. Things have changed drastically in the recent moons, however. The current leader of The Leaf is more strict about motherless kits, and there have been litters abandoned in the territory for The River and The Shade to find. At first, both tribes took the poor creatures in, pitying them and desiring them to fill up their own ranks, but as the number of abandoned kits in the territory rises, the two tribes grow concerned. The Shade refuses to take in any more kits, as they've already swelled their numbers and do not have enough resources to sustain new mouths. The River, however, continues to hesitantly take in kits from The Leaf, as the leader is too loving to ignore helpless kits. Both tribes are growing rapidly impatient with The Leaf's cruel code of conduct. As hostilities grow and the truce is tampered with, just how far will the leaders go to stop The Leaf in their tracks, and just how far will The Leaf go to keep going?
LGBT in The Tribes.
Before I say anything else, please note that in character views and beliefs do not reflect on out-of-character views and beliefs.
Of the three tribes, The River is the most welcoming and appreciating of LGBT cats due to their loving nature of relationships and each other. Lesbian, gay, hetero, bisexual, and pansexual are all welcome here! As well as ace and aro kitties. Due to cats being incapable of adjusting their appearances and genders surgically, there will not be transgender cats in any tribe. However, your cat can experience Body Dysmorphia. It isn't a sexual orientation, so you can simply add it to your cat's biography and even make it a defining part of their personality. Please understand that by writing your cat to have dysmorphia, you are signing them up for a lifetime of being uncomfortable with themselves and miserable in their bodies because they can never sufficiently transition. This condition can occur in cats from all tribes, but is most common in The River. Polyamorous relationships aren't uncommon in this tribe either, but is snorted at by the other two tribes.
The Shade houses the most ace and aro cats, due to their introspective personality and seclusion from one another. Their thirst for knowledge and their curiosity make forming relationships more of a side quest than anything. LGBT cats aren't celebrated like in The River, but aren't against the rules either. Most cats are impartial to it, and some side-eye same couple relationships from afar, but that's as far as it goes. The Shade knows that cats are different and they should just accept it - or pull cats aside and study every aspect of their orientation for research purposes because they're overly obsessed with learning new things and are basically knowledge nerds.
The Leaf, due to their strict following of rules and All-Mother's will, are against LGBT relationships. They believe that All-Mother designed them to have a mother and a father, and there is no other way for kits to be provided to the tribe if the parents are the same gender. Depending on the leader, an LGBT cat can be casted from the tribe for refusing to provide the tribe with kits if the cat does not desire so. Off-topic from LGBT for a second, it is frowned upon for a she-cat to not want kits period. Back on topic, to not want kits in favor of loving another she-cat is "outrageous" and can result in being cast out if the situation is demanding of it. There are still LGBT cats present in The Leaf, but almost all are closeted and in either secret relationships with fellow tribe members or in forbidden relationships with cats from other tribes who have more accepting rules. Leaf Tribe cats that aren't closeted are often excluded from tribe activities and bullied by their peers, or eventually casted out.
It is not against the rules to be LGBT in The Leaf. However, is IS against the rules to be in a same-gender relationship within the leaf.
Naming System.
Due to the tribe's differing belief systems and political views, the way they name their braves are all different. (Brave; tribe version of a warrior).
