Duckpaw nodded. "Lets go before Ravenskull notices your gone." Duckpaw's whiskers still shook as he he turned to leave. That had been close, he wondered what the strange tom would have done if he spotted them. The tom would have most likely told Ravenskull. Duckpaw shivered.

At the mention of beasts Hollysnags ears flicked up and she was alert. "Do you know what they where?" Hollysnag questioned softly. "Foxes? Dogs? Raccoons?" Hollysnags voice was now a mere whisper now. Voleheart and finally got to his paws and had made his way to Hollysnag. The fur along his back and shoulders still bristled. "S-should we g-get S-Sharpstar?" He stuttered.

She knew what raccoons were, and had the scar to prove it, but these beasts had never bothered her little corner of the world before, though she had heard them in the distance often. "I...I'm not sure. They were large and loud, and they drooled a lot. I've never seen jaws so large..." Her voice trailed off for a moment. "One of them had something around its neck that I've seen on other cats before." She eyed the other cat as he came closer and the fur along her spine quivered as she fought to keep it from bristling again. Who was Sharpstar? Were there more cats around? She didn't know if the thought of more cars frightened or comforted her any.

"We may have to do a rescue mission." She whispered, but she didnt think this she-cats brother survived the attack. Hollysnag flicked her attention back to the she-cat. "My names Hollysnag and this is my friend Voleheart, we are warriors of Hollowclan." Hollysnag said this quickly she wanted to get out of this area just in case these dogs found them. "Do you think you should show us where you last saw your brother?" She added softly.

The she-cat's sides weren't heaving as hard as before, and her ears had slowly unflattened from her skull as she whispered "dog" under her breath softly, trying out the word. She looked up at Hollysnag and Voleheart and looked confused as the words warriors and clan registered. She'd heard stories of clan cats before. "I'm Ember." She swallowed hard and her nose twitched as she took in the scents around her. "We were at the edge of the city, heading toward the farmlands to the east. It was supposed to be safe there, but that's where the...dogs came from." She tried out the word again and shuddered as she recalled the baying sounds they made, and their hot, stinking breath on her heels. "My brother and I got separated near where the forest began and I...I just kept running..." She stifled a whimper as she thought of what could have become of her brother. He was strong and fierce, but he wouldn't have stood a chance against four of those creatures. The word rescue gave her hope, though. Maybe her brother, Bear would be holed up in a tree, or hiding somewhere. Ember hoped he was. He was the only family she had. "I...can retrace the way I came, maybe?" Ember offered. She'd left a clear trail of snagged fur and fear scent to follow.

“You know, they must’ve scared all the prey away with their stench.” He hissed, shadeclan’s stench was musky and gross.” We should hunt somewhere else.” He suggested looking at the border once more. Hawthornfur stuck his tongue out in discuss. "Yeah let's go somewhere else. Maybe to the lightning struck pine tree?" Hawthornfur suggested. “Sure!”he said with a nod padding off towards it.

"If you think you can run we should go back to the edge of the forest as quickly as we can." Hollysnag turned her attention to Voleheart. "Daisytuft and Fadespot should be around here we should bring them with us." Voleheart nodded and darted off. A couple minutes later he returned with a long haired cream colored she-cat and a pale gray tom with darker gray spots across his back.

She didn't know these cats, and they didn't know her or her brother, but they were willing to help, and that gave her strength, along with the anxiety of finding out what had become of her brother. When the other cats arrived, she awkwardly dipped her head at them in greeting, then started picking her way through the foliage the way she came until she was able to pick up her pace and run, cautiously tracing her way back to where her brother could be. Anxiety rolled off her in waves. What if the dogs were there? What if her brother wasn't?

Hollysnag walked close to Ember. "When we almost get there I want you to stay behind me." She whispered softly. Hollysnag knew what she was getting her self into but she felt compelled to help this she-cat. Voleheart nervously glanced around. "Hollysnag we s-should have g-grabbed more w-warriors." He stuttered as they padded through the forest. Fadespot scoffed. "We are going up against a bunch of slobbering dogs we can handle that." Fadespot whispered to Voleheart. Daisytuft sighed. "Shush you two." Hollysnag snapped quietly.

Cougarleap nodded scenting the air. He scented a mouse pointing his tail towards it. Hawthornfur nodded softly and stalked forward. Soon he stopped the small creature nibbling at a nut of some kind. Hawthornfur was just about to leap when suddenly a owl swooped down on silent wings grabbing the mouse.

Cougarleap instincts shot through him and he tackled the bird, biting through its feathers, his adrenaline running, he got gashed by a talon, but he continued to tussle with the owl, hissing as he clawed the big eyes.

Finchpaw nodded in agreement, though she seemed confused and distant...as if in deep thought. The she-cat shook out her fur before hastily following behind Duckpaw, a worrisome look on her face. "I-I hope he didn't see us..." she managed, picking up her pace.
