Cedarpaw nods "Yes. That's always nice." he comments. Sometimes you've got to make a sacrifice or two for survival. That's something Cedarpaw is slowly learning. "It's also nice to be hot and have growing herbs you can pick and store than be without them. So I see your point." He was warming up to Longstar. Which wasn't a bad thing. If Cedarpaw were to be medicine cat one day, he ought to have a good relationship with his leader. It'd just be stupid to not try and get to know Longstar.

Longstar nodded. "You're getting it." He meowed with a small, warm smile. He knew his old friend Weaselfoot would be a good mentor when the time came. As soon as the Lily Pool came into sight, Longstar charged down a sloping, grassy hill to the welcome sight of the small body of water hidden against the tall horsetail. He wanted to submerge himself right away, but he watched the water for any frogs he could catch before he disturbed any prey with his large form joining them in the water. Thankfully, the marshy surface of the ground helped him cool down from the watery mud against his paw pads.

Cedarpaw takes his time to get down the grassy hill. Once he meets his leader at the Lily Pool. Cedarpaw begins picking the horsetail. He prefers to do what he came to do in the first place rather than spend his time avoiding it. Not that he's talking about Longstar. The leader isn't really wasting any time.

Longstar's tail swished as he watched the surface of the water before he could see the movement of a large toad. As though he were catching a fish, he thrust his paw into the water with claws extended, and the next moment he had the warty toad out of the water on its back before he finished the amphibian with a blow from his paw. He paused to send a prayer of thanks to Starclan before gazing at the paw he had used to catch the fish, now soaking with water. "The water feels nice." He purred quietly, looking toward Cedarpaw who was focused on collecting the needed herbs. He was glad the apprentice was taking his duties seriously, but it occurred to him that it was something of a shame that he wasn't taking the time to enjoy the small outing like he, Stormsong, and Weaselfoot always had as apprentices. Filled with old memories of his dear friends, he called to Cedarpaw as he had done many moons before, "Watch this!" And with a leap, the large tom crashed into the pool with his legs tucked close to his body, disturbing the lily pads on the surface and sending water splashing onto the ground from the impact.
(LOL for real)

Cedarpaw is now wet. Fantastic. All sarcasm aside, the splash did cool him off so wasn't really upset. "cool" he comments, contributing to pick the horsetail. He perhaps dipped his paws in the water once or twice as well.

Longstar gave a snort at Cedarpaw's underwhelmed reaction. His splashes were legendary. What had apprentices come to? He waded in the water while the apprentice collected all the herbs her needed before finally climbing out of the swampy pool water. His thick, normally honey-brown pelt looked dark brown with the amount of water that clung to his fur down to his skin. He was utterly soaking, but he looked content. "You got everything you need?" He asked.

((Oh yes of course, but who would ever love angst lord. Sorry i didnt reply I fell asleep!))
"yep" he nods, looking toward Longstar. Atleast hes not covered in mud. That'd be a pain to clean up. He gives a short shrug before turning to begin his way back up the hill and toward camp.

Snakepaw rolled his eyes at Applepaw's misfortune. She should've been paying more attention, he thought. However, he nodded to his mentor and padded over to help, waiting for him to lift the bush so he could get to work.

Maskedpaw idled by, letting Snakepaw and Boarfang take care of the situation. She would help but she feels three cats teying to help might crowd up the situation and possibly make it even worse.

Longstar rolled his eyes and then lumbered to catch up with Cedarpaw. For all the apprentice's attitude, the leader didn't take too much offense to it, however. He just viewed it as a challenge to crack the tough shell of the medicine cat apprentice. "You got burrs stuck in your fur or something?" He asked good-humoredly, not being all that serious with the question.

Boarfang cautiously stuck his paw through, pushing to get between the bush and the caught apprentice, then with bunching muscles, he lifted the tangle of branches, leaves, and thorns up, making it much more clear exactly where Applepaw had gotten caught in the tangle herself. "Come on then, help her out, Snakepaw." He hissed.

"no? Wh-" oh it was a joke. Cedarpaw's just now gotten that. He must admit that was clever of Longstar. He gives a shot laugh but somewhat maintains his grumpy demeanor.

Snakepaw slightly narrowed his eyes in response to his mentor's hiss, but he got to work removing Applepaw's fur from the thorns and brambles. He held back a sigh. I really hope I won't have to be pulling you out of bushes forever, Applepaw, he thought to himself.

(I have Sorrelpatch open. Here's a starter. :3)
Sorrelpatch was reinforcing the shelter of the warrior's den, using twigs she had collected in the dense forest they made their camp in. She fitted the twigs in tightly together into the tangle of branches and leaves that made up the den. She had seen clouds past the close-set branches of the trees, and wanted to prepare in case of rain.

With a soft mew, Applepaw finally managed to get herself out the bush, basically tumbling back out and landing on her rump. She shuffled her paws a in embarrassment, flattening her ears. "Oops," was all she said, a little unhappy with herself for both getting stuck and completely missing the bird, when the other two had managed to catch their own prey. There was always next time, though.

Boarfang pulled his paw away now that Applepaw, ripping his long, thin fur from the thorns that snagged it. He shook himself. "Nothing Snakepaw and I can't help out with, eh?" He purred, giving his apprentice a nudge with his shoulder. "Don't worry, I'll find a less prickly place for you to get another chance." He meowed to Applepaw.

The ginger cat gave Boarfang a grateful look, purring softly at him. "Thanks, Boarfang," she mewed, actually talking softly for once. Still, the older cat's comment made her feel a little better about everything, and she relaxed a bit more. It probably wouldn't take long for her to get back to her excited self, but for now, she was quieter.

Maskedpaw simply nods. She buries her prey a few moments later and looks to boarfang for even further instructions. Maskedpaw stayed quiet for now. She really didn't feel like speaking much

Snakepaw padded off and quickly buried his bird. He left a faint claw mark over the place he buried it, in case he forgot where it was. He padded back to his mentor, and waited to be led off again.

"Let's check out Duck Pond, eh?" Boarfang meowed, grinning. It was his favorite area to hunt around - frogs, minnows, ducks and their eggs. Plenty to feed the clan. It wasn't odd to see him coming back with as much prey jammed into his jaw as he could fit after hunting there. "Maybe we'll be able to snag some duck eggs." He purred, and he padded on with that destination in mind before they could even say whether they agreed or not.
