Adelaide slowly stopped her car as her gaze locked onto the person jogging towards her. She watched as he came to an abrupt halt, stopping completely as he watched her slowly drive down. After a few moments of being lost in thought she smiled softly and continued to drive on down the street towards him, not to far from his house either.
She slowly came to a halt as she neared him, stopping parallel to him. She looked over at him and smiled softly, rolling down her window and said, "Hey Ryder. Good morning." She said sweetly her voice carrying as smooth as honey. She flashed another small smile at him, and beckoned him to come over to her car.
As she did that she pulled her black close to the curb and parked it, turning the engine off and slowly getting out of her vehicle. As she she opened the door, she looked over at him, her heart beginning to ache all over again. She still felt everything for Ryder as she had three years ago, but by the way he was acting she felt he just couldn't wait for her to leave town again. It hurt her, a lot. She could never admit it because she couldn't bring herself to act as if she was the victim in all of this, it was really Ryder. Ryder hadn't asked for any of this, she just brought it upon him, and now she finally been realizing maybe she shouldn't have.
She pushed those thoughts to the back of her mind, and stepped out from behind her car, revealing her white ripped jeans, matching white plunging blouse matched with gray cable knit cardigan. She slowly walks up to Ryder, looking up at him as she neared him.

Ryder just stood there, his mouth now hanging open slightly. He stared as the car came to a slow stop beside him, and then the window was rolling down and he was staring at Adelaide. He couldn't believe this. What was she doing here? And now of all times? Just when he was trying to get his mind off of her. He watched as her mouth moved, presumably saying something along the lines of 'good morning' or 'nice to see you' - but he was too frozen to remove the ear phones that were still blasting music from his ears to actually hear her. He saw her gesture at him, motioning him to come closer, and without thinking, Ryder's feet carried him a few steps forward, hands finally reaching up to remove the ear phones.
Suddenly able to hear the world around him, Ryder watched carefully as Adelaide parked her car and turned the engine off, slowly getting out and then walking over to him. She stood there, looking up at him. She was so close, and part of him wanted to reach out and wrap his arms around her and apologise for how he acted yesterday - he wanted to say that he hadn't meant it and that he wanted everything to go back to the way it was. The other part of him however, knew that that could never happen. She had hurt him too much for things to go back the way they were. And so, instead of reaching out and pulling her into a hug, Ryder slipped his hands into the pockets of his shorts.
"Hey, Adelaide." Ryder said softly, glancing down at his feet as he shuffled them on the pavement. He hated how forced and awkward this felt for him, but in his mind, there was no other way to do this. "How are ya'?" He mumbled. Ryder wasn't one to mumble - especially in front of people that he knew - and so, to anyone who knew him, would instantly know something was majorly wrong.
Ryder sighed mentally, wanting to keep running now more than ever - his mind once more tangled up in the thoughts of Adelaide. He looked back up to her, meeting her eyes, before looking away again, over her shoulder and down the street. Curling his hands into fists inside his pockets, Ryder dug his fingernails into his palms, forcing himself to concentrate and deal with the situation. He made himself look back at Adelaide, maintaining eye contact this time - he owed her that much at least.

Adelaide smiled up at him trying to remove the tension that was obviously happening between them. "Hey.."She responded lightly, looking up at him, as she wrapped her knit cardigan around her as the crisp breeze picked up. She frowned slightly at him as she listened to him mumble his responses to her, she felt horrible for what she had done to him, and what she made him go through but, she needed that. She knew deep down that she had needed to get away, and she was so glad that she had been able to, because she was so much happier with herself and her life now. She looked up at him and extended her arm, rubbing the side of his shoulder softly, the frown still apparent on her face.
She sighed softly as she retracted her hand, "I'm so sorry Ryder, I'm not trying to make you uncomfortable or make this any more awkward for you than it already is. I understand you're angry, hurt and maybe even sad, and I'm so sorry that I caused you to feel like that... That was never my intention ever. I probably should have responded to all those texts, phone calls, and voicemails... but I didn't, and I can't change that now. I did what I thought was best for me, and I don't regret it. I'm so much happier with myself and life now..." She said softly as she looked down at the pavement that was splotted with faint raindrops.
After a few moments she looked up again at him, running a hand through her silvery locks of hair, backing up towards her car. "I'll let you be, I don't want to bug you anymore than I already have. I was stupid to think we'd ever be able to be as close as we once had been before..." She said, her face showcasing her saddness, as you could see the water begin to flood her eyes. She turned away and began walking back to her car, as the tears began to fall down her cheeks, staining them.

Ryder felt a shudder roll through him, raising goosebumps on his arms, as Adelaide reached out and touched his shoulder, a frown clear on her face. Although he didn't like that particular reaction, he couldn't really seem to stop it either, and he looked at her miserably, wanting to pull her close and hug her, but his brain demanding he do the opposite, leaving him feeling torn inside. It was the same feeling he had felt yesterday when he had first seen her, the same feeling that had made him go on this run in the first place. He thought he had finally managed to escape it for a while, but it appeared that he hadn't.
Ryder couldn't look at her as she said almost the same words as she had yesterday. His hands tightened as annoyance flashed through him, making him take one step back, although she had already removed her hand. He knew all of those things. She had already said them. Even if she hadn't said them, he would have known. But actions spoke louder to him than words, and so Adelaide's repetition of words she probably thought were comforting, just made him angry. He wanted to move on, for things to go back the way that they were. He wasn't sure if he could handle that at the moment however, he was still in shock over the fact that she was actually back and here, standing in front of him.
Ryder turned his face up to the sky as he felt a few raindrops begin to fall. Perfect. Now he would have to go home - his mother would kill him if he ran in the rain and dripped water all through the house.
Hurt pierced Ryder's heart as Adelaide backed towards her car, saying she wsa going to let him be. No, he didn't want that. Did he? He didn't know. But the sadness on her face as she turned away, the beginning of tears evident even to him, made Ryder follow after her. No matter how angry or annoyed or hurt or upset he was with her, he could never let her walk away crying. He loved her too much for that, even now. Adelaide could do literally anything to him, and he would still chase after her to see if she was okay. Before she could get into the car, Ryder caught Adelaide's hand, spinning her around to face him, and with a clenched jaw, pulled her close.
He couldn't bring himself to say any words of comfort, or even to tell her the things running through his mind, like 'please don't leave me again', 'I just need some more time', and even 'I'm sorry for not being there when you needed me', so instead he just held her. He could feel the rain begin to grow a little heavier, but Ryder resolutely stood there, allowing the rain to fall onto him as he hugged Adelaide close, arms tight around her. He hated seeing her cry. Especially when he knew he was a part of the reason why she was. "Come on." He finally managed to mutter, and took her hand, pulling her along behind him as he made his way down the short distance back to his house.
He entered and then finally dropped Adelaide's hand, returning quickly with a towl, he threw it towards her without looking, heading into the kitchen. He was unsure as to why he had brought her back here, but he had known he couldn't leave her out there like that, or let her drive. "Adelaide!" the sound of a seven year olds cry soon found the house and then Cassie was shoving past Ryder and hugging onto Adelaide's legs.

( Sounds great! I'll check in a second after I post this! )
Adelaide gasped softly as Ryder had grabbed her and spun her back towards him, hugging her tightly. She sighed softly and just laid her head on his chest, deeply inhaling his strong scent of his cologne. She buried her face into his chest and just held onto him tightly as the rain began to trickle down onto them. She continued to stand their quietly, just holding onto him, her tears staining his jacket.
Her crying dulled to light shivering as Ryder told her to come. She reluctantly released her grasp from around him, and held his hand lightly, her soft small hands freezing cold in his. She followed slowly, but closely behind him not sure where he was taking her. She turned and looked over her shoulder for a moment as he continued to pull her further away in the other direction. Her key fob in her hand she pressed down on the lock button twice, locking her car with a honk of reassurance of her car as the locks clicked. She then turned back and followed him.
Soon enough Ryder brought back to a familiar house, 'his house.. of course his house' she thought to herself, wondering why she hadn't realized sooner. She smiled gratefully up at him as he handed her the towel, wrapping herself inside of it as she looked around the house. Her teeth began to chatter, as if she was cold, freezing cold, but in reality she was more scared. Scared of what his parents might say if they saw her, or if they'd be angry with her and with Ryder for inviting her inside. She looked nervously down at her feet as a small body crashed into her wrapping itself around her as it shrieked her name.
Adelaide couldn't help but smile fondly as she saw Cassie, Ryder's little sister. " Hey babe, how've you been?" She asked giggling as she hugged the little girl back.

(Honestly I have no idea, but I was thinking I'd like to be muse a for this new plot, if you don't mind (: As for the big issue, I truly am stumped. We could do the typical cliche and could do cheating sort of plot, but maybe start out waaaaay before it work up to it and so on? Not sure though. )

{{ yeah I'm happy to be muse b for the new plot. did you want to keep it like high school drama style genre or add in supernatural? also for the mistake I'm cool to do cheating if we can't think of anything else and starting before it actually happens is a good idea too. }}
"Good!" Cassie replied in a sing-song voice. "I want to know where you went though. Ryder wouldn't tell me." the little girl demanded, finally releasing Adelaide's legs and then grabbing her hand. Cassie pulled Adelaide away from the front door, and into the kitchen where Ryder was still standing. "Sit." Cassie ordered, in the way only a small child can, before climbing onto one of the bar stools sitting at the kitchen counter. "Now. Tell me everything." She said, eyes solely on the older girl as her feet swung in the empty space below her. Because Ryder had always been so close to both Adelaide and Cassie, it hadn't been uncommon to see all three together hanging out, and so Cassie had become very attached to Adelaide very quickly - her sudden disappearance confusing the young girl. She'd demanded answers from Ryder, but he had been unable to give them to her as he didn't have any himself.
Ryder shut his eyes as he heard Cassie call out Adelaide's name. This was going to be interesting. His little sister was very attached to his best friend, and he just hoped that Adelaide wouldn't up and leave again. He'd been unable to explain the first time that she'd left, so he didn't know how he was going to be able to do it a second time if it came to that. He really didn't want it to. Ryder collected himself as Cassie dragged Adelaide into the kitchen, forcing his eyes open and a neutral expression on his face as he turned away from them and scrubbed at his hair. Needing to keep busy, he opened the fridge, rummaging around, looking for something but not sure what. With a sigh he let the fridge close, only half listening to Cassie's demands to be told what had happened.
Ryder leaned against the counter opposite to the one Cassie and Adelaide were sitting at, folding his arms over his chest as he stood there, trying to keep himself from fidgeting. He had known bringing Adelaide back here was the right thing to do, but now he didn't know what to do next. Did he answer Cassie's questions, or tell her to drop it? Did he try talking about it with Adelaide again or did he tell her to leave? He didn't know. Fidgeting, Ryder let his hands drop and slip into the pockets of his shorts, now trying to force himself to pay attention to what Cassie and Adelaide were saying.

(I'm gonna through in a curve ball and say Ade had a brother and he died in a car accident)
Adelaide smiled slightly at the little girl, knowing she had no choice but to answer her questions whether she wanted to or not. She sighed softly as she sat down across from Cassie, looking at the sweet little girl who had sprouted since she had last seen her, she wasn't so little anymore. She smiled at her once more and nodded her head.
"Alright Cass, I'll tell you what happened." she said softly looking at the little girl, and then quickly glancing for a moment at Ryder.
She then grabbed Cassie's hands and said, " Sometimes people get really really sad Cass... Sometimes people really don't know what they need to be doing in life or what their path in life is." She said softly, her eyes soften as she looked at Cass and then at the ground. "Remember a few years ago when Mikey died, Cass" She asked her quietly.
Not waiting for the little girl's response she continued."Him dying was really hard on me, and my parents. After he passed away, I couldn't help but feel like I was the one to blame..If It hadn't been for me getting angry with him and making him mad he would have never left that night. He would still be alive... " She said as a tear rolled down her cheek.
She wiped the tear and looked at the little girl and smiled slightly, "So I guess I decided to leave because I thought that If I could get away from the area or from the those who constantly reminded me of him I would learn to be able to cope with it.. But that wasn't the case I was naive to think that.."
She sighed again, " I know I hurt a lot of people when I decided to just up and leave, and I was very selfish for doing that. I left my parents when they needed me the most, and I abandoned them. I also left you and Ryder and I didn't give anyone so much as a reassurance that I was okay, and I should've, but it was something I needed to do. I needed to be alone to grieve, and get closure. And I did in some ways, and in some ways I'm still searching for it. But I did a lot of soul searching while I was gone, and I really was able to find out me, and how I want to live and what I want to live for. I know you might not understand all this because you're still young." She said quietly.
She squeezed the little girls hands gently and reassuringly as she finished.

{{ do you mean they're in a normal highschool but they are supernatural/have powers or it's like a highschool for kids with powers/supernatural? sorry I just want to get a clear picture for the setting before we start rping for this plot ^^ }}
Cassie nodded along, a frown on her face as she listened to Adelaide's words. She had known that her brother, Mikey, had gone away and wasn't coming back, and had only later been told the word for when that happened and what it actually meant. Either way, at the time Cassie had been able to tell that everyone was very sad about this, especially Adelaide, and the young girl could see that now as well. Wanting to help, but not knowing how, Cassie simply reached forward and took Adelaide's hand without saying anything, squeezing it between both of her hands to try and tell the older girl that everything was going to be okay without interrupting her. Once Adelaide had finished Cassie thought of what to say in reply, as there didn't seem to be any one right thing to say. "Just don't leave again." She decided on, saying the words firmly and with a sharp little bob of her head. She smiled up at Adelaide and then turned to Ryder. "Cookies!" She demanded.
Ryder stood, listening silently, but still fidgeting as Adelaide explained to her little sister about why she had left. Although Ryder had known that Mikey's death had hit Adelaide hard, she had never told him that she felt guilty about the crash that he had been in. Probably because she knew that he would think that it was ridiculous for her to blame herself for something like that. Because it was ridiculous. Either way that was in the past now - and here they were in his kitchen, his seven year old sister somehow managing to get more answers out of her then he had.
Ryder tugged on the edge of his shirt, the still damp material seeming to make his skin itch as he listened to the uncomfortable topic. Although he felt his reaction to Adelaide's return had been justified, he also realised how hard it must have been for her to come back here at all. He realised why his initial rejection would have hurt her so much. She had already lost one person she cared deeply for and blamed herself for it, and he could see how to her it would look like she was losing another. Almost feeling guilty, but not quite, Ryder couldn't seem to make himself focus on the rest of Adelaide's words - all he could think about was the trapped feeling that was beginning to make his chest tighten. Staring at the ground, Ryder felt himself about to walk away, when Cassie demanded cookies. The one word from his younger sister made him freeze, half already moving away from the counter he had been leaning on.
With a sigh, and after a moments hesitation where he forced himself to move, Ryder turned back to the counter he had been leaning against and rummaged in one of the higher up cupboards. Finding his sisters favourite cookies, he simply slid the packet onto the counter in front of her, barely pausing to see her face light up before continuing on, past Cassie and Adelaide and into the backyard. He needed fresh air and the rain had cleared during their time talking inside. Sitting down by the edge of the pool, Ryder trailed a hand through the water, letting the coldness of the water focus him. He still had so many questions, but he could finally understand why she had done it.

( Or where maybe just one of them is but the other doesn't know it either? I'm cool for either way we take it. I'll leave it up to you to decide which way it goes (: )
Adelaide smiled softly at the little girl as she squeezed her hands lightly trying to comfort her. She then drew her close for a hug as she told her not to leave again, "I don't plan on it Cass" She said with another slight smile. "I don't ever plan on leaving again, unless maybe it's a trip or vacation... "She said thinking out loud, only to add a few moments later, "But you're stuck with me until then! Unless you wanna come of course! Girl's trip huh? " She said jokingly to the little girl as she watched her demand Ryder to bring her cookies. She smiled at the little girl's fierce attitude and forward demeanor, she appreciated it and valued it. Those were good traits to have as you grow up.
She looked over at Ryder watching him grab the packet of cookies and slide them between her and Cassie. She hoped he would look over at her but he didn't he just continued on his way past her and out into the backyard. She sighed softly but was determined not to feel sad. She couldn't expect him to forgive her but she also hoped he knew he couldn't expect her to beg for his friendship or his attention. All she could was hope he could come to an understanding and realize why she did what she had done, and that she was sorry. Hopefully it wouldn't completely demolish their friendship, not that there was much of one now.
She turned back to Cassie and looked at her, "Are you gonna share some of these with me, you cookie monster!"She said in a playful voice as she wrapped her arms around Cassie and began tickling her lightly, laughing slightly as she let go of Cassie and stole two of her cookies out of the package, "Thank you!"She said smiling at the little girl.

Ryder considered the way that he acted the past two days, wondering if he should have done anything differently, or if he regretted the things he'd said to Adelaide. He found out that he didn't. He knew his actions were justified because of the pain and anger that he had been feeling. However, the important difference was that he could know realise that Adelaide's actions, of leaving, had in a way been justified as well. Ryder was unsure what to do from here, part of him had forgiven her the moment he had seen her in their cafe, but the other part of him just wanted to make sure that he wouldn't be hurt by her again. That would break him. He supposed that he would just have to trust however, there was nothing else to do really, was there? Adelaide had apologised to him more than once now, and although he hadn't wanted to hear it, the words had been said, and he knew that she meant them. It really came down to whether or not he could stand to lose his best friend again, but this time he would be the cause of it. The answer to that question was no, he couldn't. He already felt guilty now about her leaving the first time, having wished he had done more to help her, or realised sooner, so that it hadn't gotten to that point - but now he had a choice. He could chose whether she stayed in his life now, or left again - and he wanted her to stay.

{{ I'm going to start this one with my charrie considering telling yours and then we'll go from there and have the big reveal and all (; }}
Jaydon was pacing.
The air seemed to crackle around him, the chilliness like ice clinging to your skin.
This is what happened when he got stressed or angry. His emotions leaked into the air around him, altering it without him realising. That wasn't good. But at least he was in the safety of his own bedroom. Knowing that he had to get to school if he was going to make it on time, Jaydon tried to push the anxious thoughts deep into the depths of his brain, taking in deep breaths of his element to try and calm himself.
Waiting until the air had returned to its normal temperature, Jayden finally grabbed his backpack and left the house, deciding to walk to school, letting the air wash over his skin, letting its whispers soothe his racing mind as he decided what to do.
He was tired of keeping this secret, of having to control his emotions so he didn't create a tornado, or freeze the air. He just wanted to tell someone so that he wasn't so alone. And there was only one person that that could be - he just didn't know if they'd believe him.

He could chose whether she stayed in his life now, or left again - and he wanted her to stay. Adelaide looked down at Cassie and smiled, extending her arm out, her soft hands reaching for cassie's little hands. She let out a small sigh as she looked towards the way Ryder had left the kitchen in and then back down at Cassie.
"Alright Cass, I'm gonna head home now. I'm sure I'll see you soon, alrighty sweets?" She said sweetly as she stood up out of her chair and wrapped her arms around Cassie's small little body that was sitting in the chair beside her.
At last she unwrapped her arms from around the little girl and smiled softly down at her, "Let Ryder know I left alright?" She said softly as she wrapped her bag and then started walking in the direction of front door, "Bye bye Cassie!" She said as she opened the front door, closing it quietly behind her. She quickly was greeted with a rush of crisp cold air hitting her face, causing her hair to start flying in all sorts of directions. The rain had ceased, but the wind had picked up and the temperature had dropped.
She wrapped her gray knit cardigan closely to her body and inhaled deeply. She quickly walked down the street to her car, reaching into her purse for her key fob, unlocking her vehicle and slipping inside the car.
