A thread for 𝒯𝓌𝒾𝓈𝓉𝑒𝒹𝒽𝑒𝒶𝓇𝓉 † and myself (:
Our plot #13 || One - Ed Sheeran slice of life genre rp Two people, friends since before they can remember, seperated. Well, not really seperated, but Muse A decided it was time for them to go, leaving behind a devasted Muse B. After a few years apart, Muse A decides it's time for them to return home, where they stumble across Muse B once again. However, things aren't exactly the same as when they left. {{ Ryder x Adelaide }}
and
#85 || Payphone - Nightcore slice of life/romance genre rp Where Muse A is having a hard time getting over a very big mistake (we can work this out) that Muse B made and kind of just wants to move on with their life. However, Muse B is regretting what happened every day and is working hard to try and turn things around. We can (if you want) add supernatural/power elements for the 'big mistake' that happened to spice it up - or can just be high school drama or whatever.

Girl preferably! And tbh I'm just gonna be using my same oc from my other rp. Name: Adelaide Pembrooke Nicknames: Ade (Pronouced Addie) Age: 18 Description: She has a petite frame, standing at only about 5'3. Her body is slender and a bit curvy in the right places. She has soft silver hair that ombré that falls just below her collarbones, normally in loose beach waves. Her eyes are a warm dark ocean blue, containing golden flecks of yellow scattered around her pupils. Ade has soft feminine features, high cheekbones that are littered with faint freckles that span from one cheek, over the bridge of her nose to the other cheek. Personality: Miss Pembrooke is often described as sassy, irritable, and overly invested in other peoples business, not exactly the nicest of qualities. That and the fact that it gets herself into some pretty sticky situations. Ade comes across as harsh, though once she opens up to you, the girl can be a sweetheart of a companion. She is loyal to a fault and a bit stubborn and sharp-tongued, refusing to take no for an answer. She is determined and a bit of a perfectionist, which in turn goes hand in hand with her not-so-nice qualities. Ade has a bit of a difficulty showing a softer, more emotional side, but once she does, it’s like she has become a whole new person. Overall, the girl is spunky, sassy, and quite sarcastic.

Awesome! I'll use a guy from a different rp I was doing (: Did you want to start or shall I?
Character Name: Ryder Kayson Age: 18 Gender: Male Description Details: Ryder is slightly on the taller side, standing just a bit over 6". He's got a tan from his time outdoors, his slightly too long wavy brown hair streaked with blond from the sun and blue eyes. Personality: Ryder may seem like your stereotypical high school jock-type, with his loud, annoying messing around whilst out with his friends, and his reputation as a bit of a player. If you took two minutes to talk to him, you'd realise that the rumours are just that. Rumours. Although he can be considered snarky, and maybe even rude, with his satirical sense of humour and quick-witted, sarcastic comments, he's got a heart of gold. Pretty much an open book, Ryder doesn't mind wearing his heart on his sleeve, but at the same time, can be completely clueless about others emotions, especially when he thinks he's protecting them by not telling them something. Ryder loves to laugh, and will often speak his mind, something that can land him in sticky situations if he doesn't think quick enough to shut his mouth.

{{ sure thing (: }}
Ryder was sitting in his favourite local coffee shop. There was an iced latte in front of him, the ice clinking in the glass as he absent-mindedly twirled the straw around. He wasn't quite sure why he had decided to come back here. Although it was his favourite cafe, the memories that got brought back from being here always kind of ruined it for him, and so this was the first time in about three years that he'd stepped foot inside the place. Even as he considered what a tragedy this was, thoughts of Adelaide crowded his mind, making him draw in a deep breath, controlling the strong emotions swirling inside of him. It had been so long since he had seen her - his best friend since childhood, the person who had up and left without a word to him. Anger made his hand curl into a fist on top of the table, but it didn't last long. No matter how hard he tried now, he could never truly be angry about it. He kind of understood why she'd left. This was a small town and almost everyone felt trapped, it was only natural to want to leave - but why she hadn't taken him with her was what got to him. He thought they had shared everything, thought he knew her like the back of his hand. But then one morning, he had woken up to a text that said she was leaving, and hadn't heard from her since (not for lack of trying). Pushing his chair back slightly so he was swinging on the back legs, Ryder sighed in frustration, wondering when he would be able to get over this. It had been three years, surely that meant she was gone for good, he wouldn't see her again, so why was he still caught up on it?

Adelaide pushed through he rotating door of the coffee shop. It was her first day back home, she hadn't told anyone she was coming back. Not that she really kept in contact with anyone, not even her parents really. She deeply inhaled the rich fresh scent of grounded coffee beans, and coffee sweetener as she walked further into the establishment. She hadn't even bothered to look around to check if anyone she had known before was inside, she was too busy thinking of her iced latte she was about to order. It had been her and Ryder's favorite. Ever since the first time they walked into this place. It had been their routine hangout spot all those years ago. Though, she was sure that by known he had long forgotten about her, maybe even moved away from the area himself. Of course he tried to contact her every now again, but she never had the heart to respond. She never had meant hurt him or leave him, but she needed to get away. She needed to do it on her own and she had no choice but to go.
Ade made her way to the front, passing Ryder unknowingly. She order her latte and watched intently as the crew behind the counter whipped up her drink for her. After a minute or so passed they had finished the drink, "Adelaide, one Iced latte ready to go." The boy behind the counter shouted over the voices in the shop.

Ryder, absorbed in his own thoughts, had not seen Adelaide walk past him into the coffee shop. Glancing at the screen on his phone, he frowned at the time it displayed. He was going to be late for work if he didn't get a move on. Swiping his iced latte from the table, and gulping down the rest of it, Ryder stood, preparing to leave the cafe, and abandon his thoughts of his best friend. Ex-best friend, he mentally corrected himself. Pushing in his chair, Ryder slipped his phone into his pocket, about to walk out. That was when he heard her name. Of course, it could have been anyone, a visiting family, stopping on their road trip, a newcomer to the town - but something made him freeze where he stood, blocking the door to the place. Slowly turning his head to look over his shoulder, he couldn't help but stare. There she was. Standing there, holding her freshly made iced-latte without a care in the world. What?. Ryder's mind struggled to process what his eyes were seeing. "It can't be." He muttered, barely audible, to himself. "Move out of the way." A frustrated sigh from a patron outside had Ryder snapping out of his frozen state and stepping towards the person he thought he had known so well. "Ade?" He said softly, but still audible over the noise of the shop.

( Awh Thank you! Hopefully you're still on!)
Adelaide reached for her coffee, sliding a $5 tip into the tip jar, as she smiled sweetly at the barista. "Thank you!" She said cheerfully to him, as she was about to turn around only to stop dead in her tracks as she heard it. It was him. More specifically it was Ryder Kayson, a.k.a childhood friend, a.k.a the only boy she had ever been in love with. She froze, it was like she actually could not move. Her breathe began to quicken as her heartbeat started to beat faster. To the point where it could beat right out of her chest. There was no where for her to go but to turn around and face the one person she actually had the hardest time leaving behind.
A few moments passed before Adelaide finally spun around, "H-hey Ryder..." She said quietly as she looked up at him, still handsome as ever of course.
(Sorry It's so short just got home from work )

{{ hey! got crazy busy unexpectedly so sorry for not replying! also it's fine about post length, I normally don't mind as long as it isn't one line }}
Ryder stared at Adelaide's back as she stood, apparently frozen, as if she'd been caught stealing the last cookie from the cookie jar. As she slowly turned towards him, the look on her face appeared to be one of guilt (in Ryder's mind anyway). "H-hey Ryder..." She said quietly, looking up at him, her iced latte in hand. A sharp stab of pain shot through his chest when he saw that. She had the audacity. And for once, he felt himself becoming seriously, and truly angry at her. "How could you?" He whispered angrily. Although all he could see was blurred red, and his heart was pounding wildly in his chest, Ryder was not one to yell. "You just up and leave, and then come back without saying anything. And you come back here?" He questioned, spreading his hand to gesture at the coffee shop. This had been their place. Although - he was being hypocritical considering he was here as well, and had ordered their drink - but that wasn't the point.
The point was the Adelaide was here. She was standing in front of him, finally, after all these years. He backed away from her, stumbling out of the cafe, leaving behind the staring faces of the other patrons, Ryder sucked in deep breaths, his mind whirling. For so long, all he had ever wanted was for her to come back, to be able to see her again if only to say goodbye. She'd betrayed him, and he didn't know how to forgive her.
However, as he lent against a nearby street light, a growing sense of horror building up inside of him, now that she had finally come back - he realised that he no longer wanted her here.

Adelaide stared at him, not knowing what to do. He was obviously upset and angry, but it had been so long that she had no idea what to do. Should she follow him, should she just let it be and continue on with her life? Still frozen, all she could do was look at him, and then look around at all the customers inside the coffee shop, her face expressionless. She could hear people stirring and beginning to whisper, as they all stared at her. She didn't mind though, all she could hardly wrap her head around the fact she hadn't seen Ryder when she came in. 'How could I have been so stupid as not to check before I walked in...' She thought to herself as he yelled at her, only to rush out of the coffee shop.
She stood their for what seemed like an eternity. Her iced coffee in one hand, she look one last look around the still very silent coffee shop before following Ryder out. She pushed through the rotating doors, and looked down either side of the street. Once she caught a glimpse of him leaning up against a streetlamp she began walking towards him, "Ryder...I'm so so so sorry.."She said as she neared him, walking up behind him. She extended her arm out and rested her soft hand on his forearm. "I really didn't mean to hurt you, and I'm so sorry that I did, but I wasn't trying to.."She said her voice wavering. She had not expected to see him, or anyone from her past, except her parents of course. She hadn't seemed to think of what would happen if she had seen someone again, especially if that someone was a to be Ryder. She was horrified. He was in so much obvious pain, pain that she caused him. "I'm sorry Ryder..."She said one last time.
(I changed Ade's picture! Also, so sorry I didn't respond to you in time! Hopefully you'll be on tomorrow, cause it's my good day I don't have anything until a lot later in the day! Also, don't worry about not being on to respond, life gets busy. I totally understand )

{{ I'll let you know now - it appears I'll be on and off really busy with assessment for the next little while, but I will try to reply whenever I can! }}
Ryder was trying to control his breathing. He was still leaning against the street light, his chest heaving up and down as his vision began to return to normal. He squeezed his eyes shut, pinching the bridge of his nose as if he was trying to alleviate a headache. Why had she come back? And now of all times? Couldn't she have just stayed away?
Sighing, Ryder began to mentally gather himself together. He was now very late to work, but he knew that he couldn't bring himself to go just yet. Knowing his luck he'd be so distracted, he'd get hit by a car on the way there. No, he knew that he had to deal with this now, and then hopefully put it out of his mind forever. His wish had come true, Adelaide was back, and now it was time to finally tell her all of the things he'd wanted to for the past three years.
Closing his eyes once more, Ryder counted to three in his head and was about to walk back into the cafe to confront Adelaide, but then she was talking, saying his name, and apologising. As her hand came up to rest lightly on his forearm, he actually flinched, unable to stop the strong reaction. He couldn't remember a single time when he had ever flinched away from Adelaide, another pang of sadness beat through his chest, making his hands shake. He barely heard Adelaide's words as she continued, saying something about not meaning to hurt him, and that she was so sorry. He couldn't take this anymore.
"You're sorry?" He whispered, turning to face her angrily. "You're sorry?" He repeated louder. "You're sorry and didn't mean to hurt me? What did you think getting up and leaving without a word would do to me? Make me happy?" He questioned her, voice neither loud or soft, but simply frustrated. Wiping a hand over his face, Ryder crossed his arms over his chest. "You left before I got to say goodbye, Adelaide. You left me here...I thought you were dead." He threw the last word at her like a slap in the face - intending to shock her. In all reality, Ryder had been clinging onto the hope that she was perfectly fine, but because she hadn't responded to him in all this time (or to her parents as far as he knew) she could have been gone forever and he would never have known.
"I'm late for work." Ryder suddenly said, feeling anger once more rising up inside him. He couldn't do this right now. Turning on his heel, he shoved his hands into his pockets, shoulders hunched and began to walk away.

( That's fine, I really enjoy rping with you and where this role-play is at right now, so I really don't mind! It's been a while since I've really been into a rp like this one! cx )
Adelaide just stared at him in disbelief, she felt a tinge of pain in heart as she felt him flinch at her touch. She frowned slightly at him, his words felt like daggers in her skin, his voice dripped with anger and she could hear it. She couldn't ever recall a time where Ryder had ever this angry with her. Of course, it was for a good reason but she really hadn't meant to hurt him. She needed to leave, she just needed to get out on her own, and she couldn't do that with him.
She stood still for a few moments, she wasn't sure what to do. Whether or not to follow him, and continue to ask for his forgiveness, or just let him go and deal with him possibly hating her for the rest of his life. She let out a small sigh and jogged after him, "Ryder! Wait please! " She said as she neared him, eventually falling into step with him only to jog a bit further ahead and turn around, jogging backwards looking at him. Her iced latte still in one hand, she tried not to spill but wasn't doing such a great job. She looked up at him, still jogging backwards, "Ryder, please can we just stop and talk for a second" She pleaded, her voice not wavering anymore.
Eventually she got near a bench, and she stopped, breathing heavily, her heart beating rapidly. She placed her now half filled drink on the bench and stood up, running a hand through her silvery strands. "Ryder, look... I understand you're mad, and you have every single right to be. I left, and I didn't tell anyone where I was going..." She said her breathing still quite heavy. She paused for a few moments to catch her breathe before adding, " I know you don't want to hear sorry from me, but... That's all I've got Ryder.. I don't know what I can tell you to make you not upset with me, other than I had to leave. It wasn't healthy for me to be here anymore, you might have not seen it but I just couldn't live here anymore, it was actually killing me.. "She said finally as she looked down at the ground, and then up to him. " I know you probably hate me, but I still love you and care about you so much. I'm so sorry for hurting you Ry." She said softly as she forcefully embraced him, wrapping her arms around his torso.
She stood to about his shoulders, he was so much taller than her. Before she had left she had always felt a calmness and sense of security when she was in his arms, she knew he would probably pull away from her, but if she could at least get one last hug, she was gonna go for it.

{{ haha good to hear that ^^ I'm liking this rp as well, it's fun (: also if you need some inspo for your reply, you could have Adelaide maybe meet him after he's finished work or we can skip to the next day and they can meet/run into each other or something like that - whatever you want (: }}
Ryder didn't know what he wanted her to do. Some part of him wanted her to leave him be, to let him move on once again, to get on with his life and forget about her, because she was just bound to leave him again. The other part of him however, was screaming that he couldn't let her go now that she was back. She was right there in front of him, and he had the chance to stick with her for a little bit, maybe even get in a proper goodbye before they parted again. Ryder ignored that half of him and continued walking, refusing to let himself stop. Even as he heard her call out to him to wait. He ignored her as she caught up to him, walking beside him for a few paces, but then got in front of him, turning to face him as she jogged backwards, keeping up with his fast pace. She begged him to stop and talk for a second, but he told himself that he didn't want to. He almost convinced himself of it as well, as he kept walking, refusing to make eye contact with her by looking steadily over her head at the street in front of him.
As they passed a bus bench, Adelaide stopped, surprising him enough that his pace slowed, but he did take a few more steps forward before she started talking again. The emotional side of him that wanted to work things out forced his feet to stop moving as she said that she understood that he was mad. He listened, with his back turned to her as she talked. He listened as she explained she'd told no one where she was going, but it was only when she said that it hadn't been healthy for her to stay that he turned around to face her, looking at her carefully. He had known something was wrong with her before she'd left, and had tried to get her to open up about it, but his attempts had always been ignored or brushed away, so he figured that it was something that she would explain when the time was right. That time hadn't come before she'd left.
Ryder squeezed his eyes shut as she looked up at him, saying that she knew he probably hated her, but that she stilled loved him and cared about him. He could feel tears prickling at the back of his eyes. He knew those things. Of course, he knew those things, they went without saying - they'd known each other for so long that it was impossible to not know that. However, the real question was how much it mattered to him now. The answer was a lot. He looked down at her silvery curls as she wrapped her arms around him, her face in his chest. Without realising he was doing, Ryder hugged her back, fiercely. It was if a spasm had gone through him, the action so natural, that he couldn't help but squeeze her tightly against him in return. He felt a lump in his throat as he pulled away from her.
"Ade..." He sighed, blinking away the blurriness of tears that threatened to fall. "I...I...I just can't right now." He managed to get out, struggling to begin the sentence. He understood why she had left, he really did, and he would never hold that against her. It was the fact that she hadn't bothered to say goodbye or let him know that she was okay that truly hurt. "I gotta go to work." He said, backing away slowly. He stared at her as he moved, his mouth still open as if he was going to say something else. With a sigh, Ryder turned away from her again and took a few more steps down the street. "Give me some time." He called, glancing over his shoulder before he got too far away. "I just need some time." He said softer, more to himself, as he crossed the street, pushing thoughts of Adelaide to the back of his mind.

( I always seem to miss you! Haha, I'm really liking the idea of them running into each other the next day! So yeah, let's do that!)
Adelaide felt his arms wrap around her and hug her tightly, all the sadness, pain and worry she had been feeling had been washed away. Almost as if it had never existed. Like she hadn't left and nothing had changed since the last time she saw him three years ago. She hadn't felt this secure in so long, but it ended all to soon. As he unwrapped his arms from her, the sadness and pain washed over her again, as she looked up at him, the pain evident in her dark blue eyes. She inhaled his scent one last time before he completely let her go.
In reality, it had been a long three years. They had both changed so much, Adelaide especially. She was such a different person, in a positive way of course. She was so much more independent, open, and social. The Ade Ryder had known three years ago finally came out of her shell. She was so much happier and full of life than she had been before. It was obvious, just by the way she had carried herself, just by even walking in the coffee shop. She wasn't the shy girl who would always plead and beg Ryder to order her drink for her because she was to self cautious. The Adelaide three years ago would never have even remotely thought of dying her hair such a stand out color, as silver is.
She was so different now, but that didn't mean the way she felt about Ryder had ever changed. What she had said to him, she meant with everything in her body. She could never replace or find another person like Ryder, and that's why it hurt her so much that she had hurt him this bad. He was never one to ever continue to angry with her, but she wasn't sure if she could fix it this time.
She let out a small sigh and nodded her head in acknowledgment. " I understand Ryder, take all the time you want. I have the same number..If you want to talk or meet up, or just anything... call me" She said softly as she looked at him, her voice shaking slightly as she spoke. She stood quietly once more as she watched him turn away from her for the last time and walk away.
Once he was out of eye sight Adelaide looked over at the bench to her half filled coffee, a small tear falling down her cheek. She sniffled softly as she wiped it away, and picked up her coffee. She crossed back across the street towards her car. Once she reached it she slid inside, turning the car on. She sat silently for a few minutes just thinking to herself and what had just happened. She had entirely zoned out until she heard the soft patter of rain hitting her windshield. She looked around, turning her windshield wipers on and eventually pulling away from the curb and driving towards her parents house.
(Time skip )
Adelaide woke up in her old bedroom. She sat up in bed and looked around, she let out a small yawn and stretched. She had easily stayed up past three a.m. last night just talking to her parents and younger brother, Sean.She explained where she had gone, and a little bit of why she had left in the first place. They spent time catching up and telling Ade on everything she had missed in the last three years. She had really missed her family, and was super homesick. She was just really happy they welcomed her back with welcoming arms. Of course they were still a bit upset she had left without telling anyone, but they were just glad to have her back.

Ryder spent most of his shift staring off into space, absorbed in his own thoughts of the past. The owner of the diner, were he scrubbed dishes and occasionally took orders when they were understaffed, was understanding however, realising after the third dropped plate that something was wrong and patiently listened to Ryder's mess of an explanation about how his long lost friend had returned, and then sent him home early, reassuring him that he still had a job the next day. Ryder had slowly made his way home, opting to walk instead of calling his parents to pick him up as they had offered to once they had heard that Adelaide was back in town.
The cool night air helped to clear his head a little, and Ryder found himself once again reminiscing on the fun times that he had shared with Adelaide in their childhood. He had almost been like a big brother to her, he thought, her being too nervous and shy to do most things for herself. Ryder had never minded ordering her food or their drinks at the cafe, being the one to introduce them both at social gatherings and keep the conversation going - it had made him into the confident person he was today.
This new Adelaide that had come back didn't seem to need him in the same way though, and Ryder realised that that was the one true thing that had made him unable to forgive her so far. Yes, he had been incredibly hurt and angry that she had left him without another word, leaving him to wonder about her all this time, but what he hadn't realised was the underlying realisation that went along with that. It meant that she hadn't needed him. In those last three years, she had managed to get by, ordering her own drinks, asking for directions herself, talking to complete strangers. She'd done that and not once needed his help - but here he was, still needing her. It was such a flip of positions that Ryder lay in bed thinking it over for most of the night, barely grabbing four hours sleep as the sun began to rise.
---
Ryder groaned into his pillow in response to a knock on the door. He didn't move from his sprawled out position on his bed as he heard running footsteps and then a small form literally body slammed him. "Cassie. Why?" Ryder groaned again into his pillow, trying to drown out the high-pitched chatter of his little sister as she pestered him with questions about Adelaide. She had been four when Adelaide had left, so old enough to remember her big-brothers-bestie, but not old enough to understand why she'd suddenly stopped coming around. "Cassie, come on..." Ryder sighed, finally turning over as the seven year old began poking his ribcage incessantly. "Tttteeeellll mmeeeeeee." Cassie whined in Ryder's leaning over him, poking his face now. Moving quickly, Ryder grabbed his sisters arms, rolling to pin her to the bed. "No." He told her, forcing a grin as he tickled her sides.
"Cassie! Leave your brother alone." Ryder heard his mum's voice call, and so he let Cassie run free from his tickle torture, giving a weak smile as she skipped away down the hall. Rolling out of his bed, determined to not let himself pause and wallow in his thoughts, Ryder pulled on a shirt and some running shoes and quickly made his way out of the house, dodging his mothers thinly veiled attempts at ensuring he was okay. Putting in some earbuds, Ryder took off at a run from his front door, planning on jogging to the nearby park, simply for something to keep his mind off of things.

Adelaide was still sitting upright in her bed, leaning back against the headboard. She was quietly scrolling through her phone. Process complete. The previous night before she had gone to bed she had began uploading all of the old pictures and videos off her phone onto her macbook. She put her phone down, moved her comforter off of her and slid out of her bed.
She walked over to her desk and opened up her macbook.She looked at all the picture and videos flooding onto her monitor screen. She sighed softly as her eyes traveled across each picture and video, sadness filled her eyes as she tried to pry her eyes away from the screen. She cared so much about Ryder, and she felt terrible about all she had put him through these last three years, she couldn't even begin to try and fathom how he felt right now. Just seeing her out of the blue and by chance. He was just at the same spot and at the wrong time. Adelaide hadn't even thought of how she was gonna reappear to Ryder and all those people she had known before, but Ryder had sped that process up just by being in their cafe when she got into town yesterday.
She sighed softly, closing the lid to her laptop softly. She turned around and walked into her closest. She slipped into a pair of high waisted white ripped jeans, a white spaghetti strapped blouse that plunged into a 'v' at the neckline and was tied at the bottom, and wrapped the outfit up with with a charcoal gray cable knit sweater. She smiled softly as she looked at herself in the mirror. She liked her outfit. Adelaide had really opened up with herself, about herself these last three years. She found a new passion, and it was for clothing and outfits. She was essentially a fashion guru. She loved wearing all sorts of different kinds of outfits. Definitely different from her past wardrobe. Not to say that she had a poor taste of clothing and style before. She just spiced it up a lot since then. She took one last look at herself before she slipped on a pair of black heeled boots.
She walked out of her room, grabbing her pure and phone, walking slowly and softly trying not to wake anyone up in the house. She knew everyone was tired, and she also didn't want to endure anymore questions of why she had decided to leave. She slipped out the front door and walked over to her car, she unlocked her door and slid into her black audi s7. As she turns the key in the ignition, the entire roared to life. She put it in drive and pulled away from the curb driving down the street.
'Maybe I'll just drive by his house.. it's only down the street'She thought to herself as she made a left turn at the stop sign. She held her breathe unknowingly as she turned onto Ryder's street, hoping to see him.

{{ sorry it's short ^^ }}
Ryder had taken off at a run from his house, mind focused on the action of running. With the music blasting in his ears, he stared straight ahead, eyes focused on one thing, and one thing only - the corner at the end of his street. That corner would lead to a street, where a connecting side street would lead to a certain house. The house that he knew Adelaide's parents lived in - the house that he knew Adelaide would be in right now. He'd almost forgotten how close he had lived to his best friend, not having any reason to visit in the past two years. But now that she was back, and the memories of yesterday were still fresh in Ryder's mind, he couldn't help but think about it. As he got closer and closer to the corner, he began wondering if he really did want to go to the park - in the opposite direction to Adelaide's house - or if he actually wanted to just jog by her house to see if her car was still there. Maybe she had already left in the middle of the night.
That thought stabbed at Ryder's heart, and he had to shake his head to clear the thoughts from his mind, blinking at the ground for a few seconds as he decided what to do. Deciding that he would rather not know if she was gone or not, Ryder kept with his original plan of heading to the park. Looking back up, Ryder stopped dead in his tracks as he saw the car that had just turned down his street. He was about to reach the corner, where he could turn right to get to Adelaide's or left to the park - but there was Adelaide's car, driving down his street.
Unable to do anything except stand there and stare, Ryder's mind grinded to a complete halt as he blinked at the black vehicle. So she hadn't left after all.
