I've been into to Oxenfree lately if you're still interested in roleplaying.
I don't typically write much but I can if it's needed x3

I'd be interested in something Oxenfree-esque, but do you have something in mind that's particularly different from the game? Just playing out the initial story that's provided might go stale if we already know the story.

that's true. here are a couple ideas I had:
-1: It's after the story ends, the time loop is fixed, (we can choose which ending) but the "ghosts" find a way to "leave" the loop. The words "Is. Leave. Possible" appear coming from Alex's radio when she's trying to sleep. All her friends are disappearing one by one...
-2: A different group of friends, on a different island, with a different scenario. One thing is the same, and that's that the nuclear reactor on the ship caused someone to order the ship to be sunk down. That same nuclear reactor caused the officers to be transported to another dimension, just like on Edwards Island.

Maybe rather than copy the game's setting, we could have a similar set up instead elsewhere?
Like say: Private property woods, similar to how the island is at night, just closed to the public but every so often kids go back there for some sort of milestone/sneak out get together. There's something in the woods that activates spirits the same way the game starts up, but rather than have the rp take place in one night, those afflicted become sick outside the woods and just have this powerful wanting to be back in the woods. The spirits would require a full night's stay for them to take over, just as the settings from the game established, though no kid in in their right mind wants to be in the woods an entire night. So between this sickness and desire to be in the woods, they just keep winding up there and having experiences until either they fix what they messed with or they get taken?
As far as why there's ghosts in the woods, perhaps it used to be an area for military training, and a small group was sent out despite knowing bad weather was setting in and they were lost in a landslide or similar localized disaster due to the storms.

Should I design a character?

Well do we both want one or two characters? How many should we have out in the woods? Do they know each other prior, or do they all know one character NPC who disappears to the woods and they just kind of have to figure things out and decide who to work with?

I can handle either one or two, but that's probably my limit. I was thinking about 4-5, depending on how many each person is willing to take on. I think they should all know each other prior (somewhat) and just decide who to work within each part of that roleplay.

Okay. So it sounds like they would just know of each other for the most part, and maybe know one other person a little better than the others? I can play two, and a third person who invited everyone out. Do you prefer to play over thread or PM?

I can do either, but thread is best for editing posts
That sounds great! Should we do character forms or just jump in?

If they know of each other vaguely, and they know one character a little better, I think it would be interesting to do brief physical descriptions and what other characters know.
So like we describe the face that they present in public. If another character knows them a little better, than we can add a section of Exclusive Knowledge. If you want, I'll write an example on my character sheet. Thread can work for me, too.

Okay, I guess think about it and sort of plan out an idea of what you want in a character.
If you want the human, why are they leaving? How long have they felt numb? What do they really need to hear/experience to start feeling while again? Where do they think they're going?
If you want the stranger, what are they really? Why approach the human? What can they do/ what changes do they bring? Are they helpful or hurtful?

After putting a bit of thought into this, I think I'd like to claim the human. I'm thinking that they might have been feeling numb for a year or two. They could have begun to feel as if they didn't connect with their friends/family/other people, so that could have led them to become more distant and feel numb. They could be leaving because they want to start anew and see if they can find someone/something that they could connect with, which would make them feel whole again. I think they're either going into the wilderness or towards a smaller town/community.

Alright! I'm thinking of playing a creature equal parts curious and dangerous, so this should be interesting Did we set up if we wanted a thread or PM? I tend to keep track of PMs better.
