Anatoly Blayke ❝ A hero can go anywhere, challenge anyone, as long as he has the nerve. ❞ ─ son of phanes ─ "It sure as hell will be." A small grin spread across the reproduction protogenoi's son's face as they spoke. Anatoly listened intently to his friend as he patted himself dry with a second towel, nodding to show he was paying attention. It was a huge relief to him that he'd have his closest friend at Camp Golden Age at his side, at least until he met up with the other two demigods from Camp, but. . . it was after EJ would have to leave that still worried him.
"Oh, Robber's Cave State Park?" Anatoly had heard of it; some kids from Oklahoma had mentioned living nearby and seeing tourists come from all over the country to visit it. Other than that, though? He really had no idea what the place was like. There were a. . . few lakes, right? He thought he remembered someone saying that. "At least it's a well-known place. It would have been a pain if we were given a vague hint and had to figure it out for ourselves." That had happened to other demigods before. Anatoly figured that the gods were acknowledging the severity of this situation this time, though, and were more keen to get to the point. At EJ's next comment, Anatoly snorted, but couldn't help a small smirk. "My hero," he teased, gently elbowing him.
As EJ left, Anatoly reached for his clothes that were on the top of the sink. He was glad he'd picked the t-shirt and jeans out; not expensive enough to be a waste if he got attacked and they got damaged, but made with decent material that was hard to rip, the clothes were almost perfect to start a journey in. All that he needed was another change of clothes, his weapon, some battle supplies, and he figured he'd be good. "Alright. I'll only take. . . oh, maybe ten minutes. I'll need to find someone to try and watch Brace, but-" his golden eyes flicked up and narrowed on the snake in suspicion. "He'll probably find a way to follow us anyways. He always does."
Brace's tongue slipped out and then back in. No-one could contain him. He was a master of sneak.

Besnik "Bes" Tadd ❝ What's so remarkable about love at first sight? It's when people have been looking at each other for years that it becomes remarkable. ❞ ─ son of cupid ─ Bes's smile faltered a little. "To be honest, no. There. . . aren't a lot of you running around, in my defense." Even if the Big Three had broken their promise more than a couple of times, they still hadn't had enough children to where it was as common to bump into one in camp as it was to bump into one of the sons of Mars or Mercury, or Venus. "But. . . right. You definitely have a point." He pulled his bag up higher on his shoulder as he tried to think. "If we can't catch a flight, walking won't hurt us. I almost considered a train, since it wouldn't drop out of the sky, but. . . there'd be a bigger chance of monsters, both on the train and actually trying to follow it. . ."
He looked back at the daughter of Jupiter, a question crossing his mind. "Most of the time, the lot of us have to wing it whenever we go on quests. Like, yeah, there is usually a general plan, kind of like what we know now: 'Go here and do this,' or, 'Go fight this.' But even the kids of the strategy and knowledge gods can have their plans ruined when something unexpected happens. Which, like, is almost always. How do you deal with it? How often do ypu have to wing it?"

Crystal shrugged slightly. "Well we tend to attract more monsters than a normal camper. Which means we have a lot more to worry about on quests." She then let a mirthless chuckle escape her lips at the mention of the train. "Trains are the worst, but most fun, way for Demigods to travel. It's really easy for monsters to get to us, but nothing beats fighting on top of a train car." She knew this from experience, as she'd done just that. It was the most alive she'd ever felt, but she'd almost died more times in that one fight than on an entire quest. Still, if she had to pick her favorite fight or quest, it would be that one. Then again, that had also been one of her more early quests, so she'd still felt something from being on a quest other than tired.
She glanced at him, then shrugged again. "I don't think I've ever had a plan. They never seem to work, so I never saw a point. Easier to work with what's in front of you instead of trying to guess what will happen in the future." She'd had plans when she first started, but she'd stopped bothering rather quickly. Sure, as a soldier strategy was half the battle if not more. But that usually only worked for battles or wars. And no matter how hard she tried, she just couldn't see quests as a war. It was more like a mission, or operation. There was an objective, and that was about as far as planning went. It was up to the operatives to find their way to said objective by any means necessary.

Besnik "Bes" Tadd ❝ What's so remarkable about love at first sight? It's when people have been looking at each other for years that it becomes remarkable. ❞ ─ son of cupid ─ Bes couldn't help it; he was intrigued. He leaned towards the daughter of Jupiter as they walked, eyes sharper and shining. "Wait, really? You've had to fight monsters on a train before? When did this happen?" He'd heard plenty of tales about Crystal, some of which may or may not have been true, but a train tale had never been relayed to him. "Were you alone, or did you have other campers or something as backup? Was it only one monster or were there multiple? Where were you, and did the mortals notice something was wrong? Did-"
He cut himself off. Crap, he'd almost rambled off again, hadn't he? Dude, cool it. You're making yourself look like some lame fanboy. "Sorry. There's wild stories for demigods, and then there's wild stories, y'know? Not a lot of us see that kind of fun action." He nodded slightly at when Crystal admitted she'd never had a plan; he was surprised, but at the same time, felt like he should have expected it, especially since Crystal was probably sent into some of the more dangerous missions where things were constantly changing on the battlefield. "Sounds about right, honestly."

Scorch, we were thinking it might be good if you make a new character. ouo We don't want to put you on the spot or force you to make someone you don't want to, so if you have changed your mind about being willing to add a character, that's totally fine. We just know a lot about what is going to happen in the RP and thought that it might be easier if you had a little more control and choices by having a second character to control during all of this. )

Crystal glanced at him with a raised eyebrow as he suddenly started rattling off question after question. She was used to it, people did it all the time back at the camp. It was rare for someone to be as experienced in the field as her and still be alive. So all the others that didn't get to go out much were always fascinated. She waved him off as he apologized. "Don't worry about it. I'm used to being asked a lot of questions about my adventures." She slipped her hands into her pockets, glancing around for a bus or taxi. Nothing yet. "It was the start of my second year at camp, and it was only my third quest. I was on a team of three, but I wasn't the leader. We ended up facing Scythian Dracaena; a whole squad. The mortals knew something was up the second we pulled our weapons. They all screamed and vacated the car as best they could, but we knew we wouldn't win in close quarters. So the leader told me and the third to move onto the roof to get the monsters away, while he held them off below. I died almost a dozen times during that fight alone, and the leader did. I had to take over for the rest of the quest at that point. My first time leading."
She shook her head, clearing the memories before they threatened to overwhelm her. It was easier to remember more recent events, because she was already used to it for the most part. The farther back she went though, the more those feelings reemerged inside of her. She didn't want to remember them, they hurt too much. "It was one of the first times I realized that planning ahead didn't help at all. It was easier to roll with the punches then plan out the entire brawl." She tried to flag down a taxi that seemed to be returning into the city, but the driver just ignored them.

Morgan Koizumi - child of [ Athena ] Morgan is a seventeen-year-old girl that stands at 5’5”. Thanks to all her training she has a toned body. She has soft and lightly tanned skin, with no visible blemishes. She’s obviously of Asian decent, with a bit of Mediterranean in her. Her eyes and hair are very different though. Her eyes are a shining gold and she lacks the epicanthic fold. While the natural color of her hair is grey, and falls to about her mid-back. It’s like the normal looks of Athena’s children were swapped with her. She doesn’t like her gray hair all that much though, and keeps it dyed a bright pink instead. She usually keeps her bright hair up in a ponytail when she’s busy. She also wears glasses when she’s working or reading, which means she’s only not wearing them when she’s fighting or sleeping. She was raised in Japan by her grandparents, since her father wasn’t around much, but she doesn’t have much of an accent left over thanks to the time she’s spent in America. She’s fluent in Greek, Japanese, and English thanks to this though. She also designed her own, personal weapons to use in fights, though she’s never been on a quest so she’s never really had to use them before.

Besnik "Bes" Tadd ❝ What's so remarkable about love at first sight? It's when people have been looking at each other for years that it becomes remarkable. ❞ ─ son of cupid ─ Bes listened to the daughter of Jupiter tell her tale intently, staying silent to the very end. The entire time his face fell more and more, guilt seeming to soften his features as he glanced ahead. He wasn’t sure what to say; he’d seen plenty of demigods get hurt in his time at camp, while others came home dragging their companions with them, who had died just outside of the camp. But to be in such a dangerous situation where the slightest wrong movement could have gotten you killed, all while watching your leader be killed right before you and not being able to do anything about it? Having to take over as leader afterwards for the first time in your life?
He lifted his gaze again at her, unsure of what to say. “If I brought up any bad memories, I’m sorry. You really are a brave lady, Crystal. I doubt I would have been able to get through that.” His lips turned downwards in a scowl as the taxi passed by them without a care, completely ignoring Crystal’s flag down. He wouldn’t have cared if it was a full vehicle, but it hadn’t looked like there were any passengers inside at all. “What a jerk,” he muttered.
Boooonk.
Bes blinked and turned around to see what was coming. Slowing down towards them was a beat-up mint-green jeep, the top exposed, the windshield cracked. Music had been blasting from the vehicle at first but as it got closer, the wails of whatever artist had been singing became muted.
Bes blinked as the jeep finally came to a stop beside them. It was a 1992 Jeep Wrangler YJ Sahara, to be exact. He didn’t know much about cars, and it was hard to tell with the vehicle in the shape it was in, but he’d recognize the Jurassic Park jeep anywhere. A young woman with sunglasses peered over at them with a broad grin from the driver’s seat. “Hey questers.”
Bes squinted into the car. Despite the outside looking beat-up, the inside seemed relatively clean and safe. The woman herself didn’t look much older than him or Crystal, and as he took a wary step forward to get a better look, he spotted a familiar tattoo against her wrist. He let out a shaky sigh; she was one of them! “H-hi. Um, who are you?”
“The name is Kaimana.” The woman drummed her fingers against the steering wheel. “I was visiting home for the weekend.”
Ah, Bes thought. So she lives on her own.
“I was just pulling out when I heard that a daughter of Jupiter was being sent on an important quest.” She tilted her head at the two of them. “I thought if I saw you on the road I could give you a lift. I just didn’t expect that there’d be two of you.”
Bes smiled sheepishly. “I’m a stowaway.”
Kaimana smirked, eyes twinkling in amusement. “So, where are you two heading?”
“For now? Just into town until we decide our next course of action. In the long run? Robber’s Cave State Park in Oklahoma.” Bes rubbed the back of his head. “We’re supposed to meet other demigods there. Well, she is.” He gestured to Crystal with his thumb. “I just wanted to go with her to meet them.”
Kaimana blinked and looked up at the sky, as if she were judging it. After a while, she smiled. “I think I could get you two to Arizona, at least. That is, if you’d accept that.”
Bes blinked and glanced at Crystal. It was her quest, after all. She’d need to decide what to do.

Soudns good to me.))
Crystal let her arm drop as the taxi kept going. They probably looked like they didn't have any money, not all the way out here anyways. She was used to getting passed over by taxis. She wasn't exactly a looker, not with all her battle scars and muscle. She looked like she belonged in the military, and sometimes appeared older than she actually was. Last person who'd guessed said mid-twenties, and that was a year ago. She shrugged a bit as Bes apologized. "Don't worry about it. The more I tell my war stories, the easier it is to talk about it. Just can't get invested in my own story." She blew her long bangs out of her eye for a moment to get a good look around the area. "I almost didn't make it through that. It was the third that kept me from completely falling apart. I may have been the leader by name, but she was really the one in charge most of the time." She smiled a bit, remembering some of the happier memories, then it fell almost immediately as the bad began to return in the wake. "But the past is the past, nothing can be changed about it except the recounting of it."
She heard the loud horn and music behind her, and glanced over her shoulder to get an eye on the source. She'd seen the vehicle at the camp before, but that didn't mean she was off her guard. She'd seen a monster kill a camper and take their vehicle, lure other campers inside and make sure they were never seen again. When the vehicle pulled up and the voice mentioned questers, her hand went to her side, ready to pull out her javelin in a second. It was only after she confirmed the identity of the driver that she relaxed. She was okay with Bes doing the talking, she'd basically lost her social skills over the years from everything she'd had to do. It was starting to get hard to pretend at this point. "As long as you're ready for a fight, we'll take the ride as far as you can take us." She then reached out to take hold of the passenger side door. "Just understand I attract a lot of attention."

Ethan "EJ" Jekkson ❝ if you can't make the most of any given moment, you don't deserve a single extra second. ❞ ─ son of chronos-aeon ─ Actual thrill of leaving the camp! Oh what a glorious thing it was, to stretch his legs and get out of the same thing that he had to do. The headache was there, but that didn't stop the light from making his eyes bright, the thrill of something... dangerous.
But with that thrill, was a fear. They had kept this camp a very guarded secret. It wasn't that hard to understand that because of the past things that had happened, there wasn't a lot of like for the children of the titans, and whatever else wasn't a god or goddess. It wasn't that safe, either. They still had threats all the same as every other demi-god. They just had to be afraid of both camps to make sure that nothing happened.
Not to mention, the increase of people just straight up being found mutilated and positioned beyond death, it was more than a small weight on EJ's shoulders as he moved about his area, gathering up some things to go for the trip. Some money, his wallet, some snacks for the trip there, various other things, small little things.
With that, he took one last look at everything and gave a grin to leave. They were finally a part of something, something much bigger. They could stop being afraid and hiding in the shadows, they could step out and be confident, showing that they were here and that they were just like the others.
The teenager moved to wait for his best friend, brown soft chocolate colored eyes shining with the excitement. He was there to keep his friend safe and help him start the process of a long and straining journey.
Nothing would catch him off-guard. All he had to do was just take a step back beyond other's reach and start again. And he'd make sure that Anatoly would be safe. Always.

Besnik "Bes" Tadd ❝ What's so remarkable about love at first sight? It's when people have been looking at each other for years that it becomes remarkable. ❞ ─ son of cupid ─ Kaimana smiled, giving her a thumbs-up from where her hand rested against the steering wheel, the other going absently to the lock pad to make sure the doors were unlocked and ready to open. "I'm about ready as anyone ever will be for a monster attack," she mused.
Bes waited a moment for Crystal to get in and get situated before following suit, sliding into the back seat. He looked around curiously at the new arrival's vehicle as their new designated driver put the car into drive and started back down the road they had been walking along. The car itself was... well, it had seen better days, for sure, but it wasn't dirty. It was as clean as any car belonging to a half-blood or legacy could be. A string of trinkets hung from the rear view mirror; there were some seashells, a couple very tiny jars of sand, and... an old fashioned lighter? Okay.
"So, what are you names?"
Oh, right, they had never introduced themselves. "I'm Besnik Tadd, but I go by Bes. I'm the son of Cupid." He glanced towards Crystal in the front seat, smiling a beat. "She's the daughter of Jupiter, Crystal O'Connel."
Kaimana blinked and glanced sideways at Crystal, looking her over again before nodding to herself. "I've heard a lot about you the few times I've come to visit. You're the model warrior for a lot of the young kids there."
Bes nodded and looked back at the lady helping them. "How about you, if you don't mind my asking? Who are you related to?"
"I don't mind at all." Kaimana reached down to grab a bottle of water from the cupholder, pulling it to her lips and taking a sip before answering. "I'm the daughter of Doto."
Bes paused, unsure for a moment. Who was Doto again? There were so many gods and goddesses... he looked up to see if she had noticed his confusion, but if she had, she didn't show it, simply continuing to drive. Had he even heard of the name before? He almost wished he could use a cell phone; it would have been great to be able to look Doto up. He was about to ask when the sunlight coming through the windshield hit one of the jars of sand, and light reflected into his eyes. Making a face he reached up to shield his eyes, frowning, when it suddenly clicked. Okay, she had sand from beaches and seashells. Doto had to be a sea goddess of some sort.
When he finally remembered, he let out a sheepish laugh. "Doto. The uh... dughter of Nereus and Doris, right?"
"One of them, yesiree." Bes saw Kaimana's reflection smiling back at him.
Bes let out yet another laugh. "A goddess of safe voyage? Helping people on their journeys apparently runs through your blood."
Kaimana flashed a finger gun back towards him. "That it does!"
Bes smiled and got more comfortable in the back seat, leaning against the door. In the front Kaimana took one last sip of water before putting it back in the cupholder. "So, is this mission top secret? Purely confidential?" she asked.
Bes arched an eyebrow at Crystal. Probably? It was up to her to decide how much to share. He didn't know every detail himself.
