Niko was already up and moving for the day. She had a coffee in one hand and her phone in the other. Currently she was speaking to a model that worked for her agency. This particular one had been causing some problems and Niko truly was losing her patience. Keeping her voice level she said "One more move like this and you'll have to find a new agency." before she ended the call and shoved her phone into her pocket. Models, so dramatic. She thought this, ignoring the fact that she to used to be a model. Currently she was sat in a local Cafe. Their coffee was good and she had needed a coffee break.
The wind ruffled Sokeris feathers as he sat perched on a tall building. Currently he was on the hunt for a unfaithful partner. As usual, the hybrid would do almost any job given the right price. That could vary from finding a cat to taking out a lose end, and not in the date sort of way. Yawning, he watched the people mingle below him, his enhanced sight following anyone who caught his eye. He ran a hand through his hair and shifted into a more comfortable position.
"Come and get some fresh fish, caught just this morning!" Avi called, voice loud and clear over the general murmur of the crowds. She was at the docks selling the morning catch. It had been a good day for fishing and she wanted to get everything sold. Avi was working along side her coworker who was a seal hybrid. Unlike other humans, she had nothing against the hybrids and could mostly keep up them. Not to mention they were helpful on the boat.
Cen stood and stretched. He just finished one of his classes of the day. He had one more today, but some time in between the two classes to relax. The tall ears on his head twitched as he walked out of the room, listening for anything and everything. He had a bag on his shoulder and his left hand was wrapped with bandages, and injury from a fight earlier this week. There were some other students around, most absorbed by their own work. Ace had never been much of a school kind of guy. Even if he'd wanted to, he wasn't sure he could afford to be a full time student at the moment. He was, however, taking one class this semester. Last night had been a rough fight and the young man had almost skipped class, still a bit dizzy from some of the hits he'd taken. As he walked away from his one class, Ace spotted a familiar face and narrowed his eyes. He knew it was best to back off, but he couldn't help himself from approaching one of his biggest enemies. He walked up behind Cen, putting a hand on the other guy's shoulder. He still had a black eye from their fight and tensions were still clearly running high in Ace's mind. But were things ever not tense between him and his opponents? Not really. (Okay 1 - sorry it's so short. I had a long day... We can definitely go longer though if you'd like 2 - I kinda wrote this with the assumption that we had them fighting last night so tensions were higher? If you wanted to go with something different, they could've fought earlier in the week or just be like enemies or something)

No no it works!) And honestly I don't think I'll do more than a short paragraph so don't worry about writing a short book in reply haha)
Cen spun, nearly lashing out. He relaxed a bit, but only slightly at the sight of Ace. Smirking he replied "I'm surprised you're up this morning. I thought you might still be in bed." he didn't sound patronizing, but anyone could tell that he was just pretending to be nice. The smile across his lips was anything but a friendly gesture. He wasn't one to boast, but in the end he had come out of the fight with fewer injuries.

(okay cool and yeah I'm pretty tired so I'm not sure how much I could write) Ace was a good fighter, but Cen had beat him the night before. That was unacceptable. He was normally the one that came out with less injuries. He narrowed his eyes and crossed his eyes at Cen's response. "Oh, I thought about it. You knocked me in the head pretty good. But I came specifically for you. Think we have..." he trailed off, looking at the people around them. "Some unfinished business from last night. I hope you don't have any plans because I don't think you'll be able to move much for the next few days." His voice was low and a fist clenched at his side. It was obvious that he was demanding a rematch. Him, Cen, and no witnesses.

"Is that a threat or a promise." Cen quoted, rolling his eyes "I genuinely don't know how you haven't flunked out yet. I mean, i'm not the gold student or anything but I at least study sometimes. Where do you find the time." he wasn't interested in an answer, but he had thought about it before. Unfortunately Cen was not a genius when it came to academics. If he didn't study there was no way he was going to pass anything. Even if it was an objectively easy test.

If he didn't study there was no way he was going to pass anything. Even if it was an objectively easy test. Ace didn't bother with a reply. He was older than most students around here, just trying to take a few classes whenever he could. Since he only had one class this semester and it met like twice a week, he had no problem getting in a little studying. "Look. I'm not interested in talking, okay? Now why don't we just get out of here so we don't make a scene. I'm not letting you go until I get a chance to show you who's really boss," he said. He reached out, his fingers closing around Cen's upper arm. "Now, don't make a scene," he reminded him, his voice quiet as he leaned in close. "Because I don't think you want to make me mad."

"If I remember correctly," Cen started, wrenching his arm out of the others grasp "You don't have any power over me." despite his words he turned and walked towards the exit. If Ace wanted to be a bother he'd show him up and call it a day. He was still sore from yesterday, but that didn't mean he was about to let go of the chance to get a fight in.

If Ace wanted to be a bother he'd show him up and call it a day. He was still sore from yesterday, but that didn't mean he was about to let go of the chance to get a fight in. Ace just rolled his eyes. "That's what everyone says, bud," he said. People claimed that Ace had no power, but some people still did what he said. Was it fear? Respect? Genuine admiration for the guy? Who knows? All Ace knew was that he liked when people did what he said. It may not be smart to pick a fight today, Ace realized. He was still sore from their last one. He had a pounding headache and a little bit of dizziness and the black eye had attracted plenty of stares. But he wasn't about to go down that easily. Cen had to learn his lesson for thinking he could make a fool out of Ace. He walked with Cen to the exist, frowning. "I'll even let you decide where we're gonna have fhis little fight," he said, as if that made him the most charitable man in the world..

Romola "Rommy" Costa Williams type 1 shifter (snow leopardl) "And you say a blessing is going too far! Not far enough if I'd say!" Rommy gasped as he gave her the rest of the muffin. Her brother wouldn't share food with her just like that. Her cousins and most of her friends didn't either! And neither would that one kid in her math class she sat next to last year wouldn't either! She had tried to ask, but the girl just acted as though they hadn't bonded throughout an entire year of sitting next to each other, not talking, and sharing the same hatred for the class. Wait. Maybe that was the one weird student in every class who actually liked math. And Rommy just hadn't noticed! Well, that explained a lot.
The revelation aside, she had nodded at the idea of going to grab lunch and dinner. Then he came up with an even better idea. Like a dog (which was probably good not to question how she developed this), her fluffy white tail was swaying back and forth in excitement. "You are a genius! I would love to make some food with you! We can go to my place too! I mean. Endy is gonna be there, but he is a butt and should probably stay away from us unless food is done. Or maybe he took my advice and went outside and is talking with a friend now! At least then he won't try to steal our deliciously made food!" She giggled to herself over the fact Endelon was a little too anti-social compared to his over-social sister.
Back to the absolutely-completely-not-at-all-fake secret agent thing they were doing. "Ah yes, I see. I deeply apologize for the mix-up... Rudolph. Or should I say, Just Rudolph." The joke was possible and there. If Rommy where to not take Rory's fake name being Just Rudolph rather than Rudolph, what kinda of person was she growing up to be? It certainly wasn't someone that she could deal with being. "Though, Just Rudolph may be a little wrong.... I'm going to call you Rudy." Maybe she could call him reindeer? Not cause Rory was a reindeer, cause he wasn't, but cause Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. But then, Reindeer was just as long as Rudolph. And it just didn't work. Rudy did! Perhaps she should have stuck with Rudolph. But she needed to give fake personas nicknames too!
"Well, Rudy, it certainly is a pleasure to meet you," Rommy stuck out a hand to greet him with the largest grin on her face. She wasn't very on the casual side of things, but she had been stared at worst. She was invulnerable by this point to the judgement of people. "What a difficult mission I see. No doubt you'll need help with something like this. I, too, am a lone wolf, but this is just one of those mission that two people are needed. We will absolutely need to do this together, else the mission may fail."

Flo Carter Type 2 Hybrid
Now, Flo didnโt consider herself lazy or anything like that. She was actually quite the active little fox-otter girl. Always up and moving, always doing something. The only exception for that was during the night and of course, mornings. Was she really to be blamed for enjoying sleep just as much as she enjoyed being awake? Was it really that bad that perhaps she enjoyed her beauty sleep and wanted to make sure she got plenty of it? In her opinion, no, it wasnโt bad at all. Especially since summer had officially started and that meant Flo didnโt have anywhere to go, and that was just an invitation for sleeping in as late as possible.
However, even then, Flo couldnโt just sleep the day away. So, roughly around 10:25 AM, on the beautiful summer morning that it was, Flo finally emerged from her bedroom. Her hair - wild and frizzy as ever - was a mess, sticking up in every which way that it possibly could, with quite the large cowlick sitting pleasantly atop of her head. Her tail seemed to be in a similar state, and for something that was almost always clean and well kept, her tail was a frizzy mess of fur that could definitely use a good brushing, ears were of course, in a similar state. Even her pajamas looks a little roughed up, with her gray sweatshirt sliding off one of her freckled shoulders, and her socks all twisted up on her feet.
Flo gave a tired, morning yawn as walked out of her room, rubbing at her eyes. โA-awhh, good morning Jex!โ Flo greeted, walking right over to the kitchen as she plopped herself down on the barstool, draping her arms across the counter top, tail swishing about behind her, lazily dusting across the wooden floor. โGot any plans for the day?โ She asked, looking over towards her brother, still sleepy from just waking up.
She didnโt have any plans of course, except maybe going swimming later, and well, maybe sheโd also stop by the mall, that place was usually pretty fun and Flo always did enjoy finding some new clothes there. She did have some money of her own after all, as she did have a job. One as a lifeguard at the beach. However today she didnโt have to work and Flo was prepared to spend the entire day doing absolutely nothing at all, except for the few things she wanted to do. It was her โFloโ day, and she was just going to go with the Flo.
Flo smirked at her own joke, letting out a small giggle. Oh she was funny, wasnโt she?

Jonah Otto Human
Jonah had only lived in the city for a couple of weeks, no more than two and already he was having a hard time adjusting to city life. It was nothing like the calm, peaceful nature that his little farm out in the country had. Everyone was always on the move here, always in such a rush as if there was no time to stop and smell the roses. Which might actually be because there werenโt any roses to smell in the first place, not unless you went all the way to Willowโs Park, and that was even more out of the way. So basically, Jonahโs way of describing city life was that if you wanted to smell the roses, you had to go out of your way to find them. He was sure given a bit more time he could whip up a real nice analogy out of that.
Sadly, much like everyone else in the bustling, busy city, Jonah neither had the time nor the patience right now to work out a better analogy for smelling the roses in the big city. Only a week ago had he landed his first job as an assistant to Maude Lazlo, one of the most rich and important people in the entire city. She was some sort of designer or something like that. You wanted to be on her good side, and somehow, Jonah had landed him the position of her newest assistant after the last one had been fired. The job kept him busy, as Maude almost always needed something, and almost always sent Jonah off to go grab whatever it was she needed.
It was also a little weird actually, for Jonah to work so closely alongside a hybrid like Maude was. Back home, the only hybrids he knew were the Jeckleson family and the deer-folk were fairly simple looking. Sometimes it was hard to remember they were even hybrids go begin with. Jonah didnโt have any problems with hybrids or anything like that, however sometimes he forgot just how...unique they could look, it was hard not to stare sometimes.
Especially when your boss had quills for hair, a long tail, and animal ears popping from the sides of her head. It took a lot not to stare at her. Luckily for Jonah, he wasnโt actually around Maudie all that much, instead he was almost always off running an errand for her, and that was exactly what he was doing now.
With a little paper cup holder full of different types of coffee and tea, Jonah hurried through the streets of the city, a bag full of pastries hanging off his arm as he hurried along, not quite watching where he was going in his attempt to make it back to Maudieโs mansion before she grew annoyed at the lack of snacks and beverages available to her.

Saturdays were most definitely Riley's favorite day of the week. Something about being with Malakai just seemed to ease any problems that she had. There were no fears or worries or stress when she was with him. She wasn't quite sure why it worked like that, but it did. "We should pick a day during the week too to hang out," she suggested, not even thinking about it. After all, weren't week days the most stressful days of the week? Monday through Friday when adults like her and Kai had to deal with the real world. At least the weekend was supposed to have some kind of relaxation. It did, for sure. Her time with Malakai just made her even more relaxed. So his presence would help her if they picked out one day a week to just chill and hang out, wouldn't it? Riley had never made a friend as quickly as Kai. It sounded cheesy, but it was true. They'd spent a few hours talking that first day that he'd bought her a coffee and before their little hangout was over, she'd already had a warm feeling in her chest. There was some kind of spark with him and she liked to believe that he felt it too. After all, he was just as into this friendship as she was. They had a strong bond that they'd built quickly, and she was more comfortable with him than she was with most of her friends. Just like she'd seen him at his best and his worst, he'd seen her at her best and her worst. He'd been there when she was sick or mad or lonely or frustrated, but he'd also been there for some of her happiest moments in the past year. In fact, he was he only person that she never hesitated to call, even if it was three in the morning. Plus, she knew she liked him because of how she felt around him. Even if she didn't have the courage to admit that to him, she was going to enjoy the warm feeling she got when he spoke to her. Riley almost always offered Malakai her food. She knew that he was polite, but so was she. Plus, she'd learned a long time ago that compliments and free food were a good way to make friends. She complimented Malakai (of course), but she also offered him plenty of food. It was the perfect recipe for friendship, and it definitely helped that Kai put effort into being a good friend as well. She frowned a bit when he admitted that he wasn't very lucky at finding a job right now. Again, she was more than willing to help. Malakai was a good friend and she hated to see him struggle. If there was anything she could do to help him, she would do it in a heartbeat. She reached into her purse for a pen and then grabbed a napkin from the center of the table. She wrote her boss's name and number on the napkin and slid it over to him. "Tell him that I recommended you. You see, he loves me. I'm one of the best employees he's got," she said with a proud smile. Of course, that was Riley's opinion. She was pretty confident that she was the best, but she probably wasn't qualified to make that decision. Monotony wasn't fun. Riley needed some kind of variety and fun in her life. She had complained about that to Kai before, but had never been so serious about it. She was glad to see that Malakai agreed with her. He may have a little more variation in his life right now, but Riley assumed he still knew what she was talking about. After all, most people probably did. She smiled when Kai agreed to do something fun with her. She climbed to her feet and stuck a hand up to help him up. "Actually... that's the problem. I don't have any idea what to do. I just want to be something. So maybe we can figure it out together?" she suggested. She took the last sip of her smoothie and went to throw the garbage away before returning to him. "Tell me, Malakai... what have you always wanted to do?" she asked. Fire on Cloud Nine

This was a small victory and may not be related to fighting at all, but Cen had given in and agreed to come alone with him. That was a victory in Ace's book even if other people just figured it was Cen wanting to get rid of Ace. He followed Cen to the little smoking area, glancing around to see if anyone was approaching. That last thing he needed was to get in trouble for fighting. Especially if it was Cen. "Ace it, huh?" Ace asked with a small smirk. "Sure, I can take the test for ya. Coulda just asked, bud." There was nothing friendly about the offer. Sure, Ace would gladly take the test for Cen, but he'd totally bomb it and maybe get a question right. Maybe. If he was lucky. That would obviously do wonders for his grades... It just wouldn't bring the grades up.

Rory blushed slightly, looking down at the table at her comment. He then took a long sip from his drink, glad she couldn't see that the cup was actually empty. He wasn't used to receiving compliments like that and was actually a pretty modest boy. He ran his fingers through his fluffy hair, wishing he'd let it grow out a bit instead of cutting it last week... Well, paying someone else to cut it. Rory was the last person he'd trust to cut his hair. The point was that it was barely long enough to run his long fingers through and he needed to let it grow a bit. "Do you think my hair is too short?" he asked Rommy, changing the topic. "Like I don't want it long long, but just a little longer? I feel like it's too short," he said, running his fingers through it again and tipping the top of his head towards her so she could see his little demonstration. Just long enough for his fingers. "Maybe you should come with me next time I get my hair cut so you can talk me out of it," he said. Rory would be the first to admit that he had no self control. With Rommy sitting straight across from him, Rory was unable to see her tail start to wag back and forth like a dog. However, he did catch the nod and his smile grew. Great! She was going to agree to get lunch! Anything was more fun with friends and Rommy was definitely one of his best friends, even though the monkey boy had plenty of others. Most just weren't very close. That made Rommy's friendship even more special to him. "I know I'm a genius," he said, sticking his chin into the air. Yes, Rory was modest, but he had no problem joking about how great he was. He just wasn't serious. But his smile widened even more as she spoke. "Well, if he's there, we can always just fight him off if he tries to steal our hard earned food," he pointed out. "After all, monkeys are well known as some of nature's best fighters." Actually... he had had no idea if that was true. In fact, he doubted it was. But that wasn't going to stop him from telling Rommy. If Rommy's brother was at home, then Rory would surely try his best to befriend the other boy, even if he wasn't quite as outgoing as his sister. The secret agent thing had come to Rory last moment and it was less embarrassing than admitting he'd told the cashier a different name because he thought it'd be fun. So when Rommy continued to play along, the monkey boy kept his playful gaze on her. He forced the smile off his face, clearing his throat and looking serious. "Well, Ms. Costy, one mix up isn't the end of the world. Just don't do it again," he said gruffly, his voice lower than usual. Of course, he had to smile when she called him "Just Rudolph" instead of just "Rudolph". He should have expected that from her... Shame on him. "Rudy, however, is acceptable," he agreed, still using Rudolph Springsteen's deeper voice. It sounded cooler than Rory's normal voice. He was secretly glad that she hadn't compared him to Rudolph the Reindeer. In fact, it was a reindeer hybrid he'd seen in the corner that had brought Rudolph into his mind. Rory shook her hand, an equally large grin on his face. "It is a pleasure." He spoke in Rory's voice and his face turned slightly pink before repeating his sentence in Rudolph's voice. "Two lone wolves working together... This will be quite a mission," he said, before glancing around. Most people had lost interest in their odd conversation, but a few gazes still lingered on the pair. He leaned in close, his knees on his chair, his butt in the air, his arms crossed with his elbows on the table, and his face closer to Rommy's as he spoke. His tail flicked slightly as he spoke. "So, the first part of our mission is to decide what food we'll be preparing. Any ideas?" he asked. He didn't wait for her to answer before he continued. "Then we'll have to infiltrate the grocery store and retrieve the supplies. After that, we'll had back to base, AKA your place. Once there, it'll be child's play. Our only obstacle will be The Great En... End... Endrick," he said, giving Endelon a secret agent name since he wasn't here to do it himself. "If he's gonna try to steal our food, then we have to avoid him," he said, his face serious. How many people would seriously go along with this? Not many! That's why Rommy was so important to him. She was fun! CreamCrow

Jex was amused to see the morning state of his twin sister. He always was, and he'd normally tease her about it. After all, the only 'mess' he had was his hair. While the shower and brushing had helped a bit, it still stuck out at odd angles and fell over the tops of his green eyes. Even his tail had managed fairly well throughout the night. But was that really ever a mess? No. Jex liked to be proud of his tail. One that clearly marked him as a hybrid of the fox, and Jex believed that the fox was one of the most good looking animals. That wasn't something he was afraid of showing. He hadn't woken up much earlier than his sister this morning, but hearing her come from her bedroom to the kitchen made the otter-fox boy perk up a little bit. Flo didn't have to know that he'd only recently woke up... His playful gaze followed his sister as she took a seat and seemed to flop down. "Awwww, is someone still tired?" he asked, using a bit of a baby voice and fighting the smile that threatened to overtake his face. Well... to be honest, it was more of a smirk than a smile. He enjoyed seeing his sister like this. It was one of the perks of being part of a family - you got to see your family members when they weren't at their best. And Jex assumed (and hoped) that she'd at least clean up a little bit more before going out today. His eyes roamed her outfit, wincing a bit. "Sweatshirt and socks? You kill me, sister," he said with a laugh. As shown by his outfit (if a pair of shorts could be considered an outfit...) he had no tolerance for the heat today. Well, he could manage it more clothes, he just didn't want to. Plus, where was the fun in that? After his teasing comment, he became a little nicer. "Good morning, Flo. You look like you've slept well," he commented, then paused. "Or at least like you slept enough," he added. Okay, he was her brother! It was practically his job to get in comments like that whenever he had the chance. Plus, Flo had to know by now that he didn't actually mean any harm. Jex was definitely the type to show his love by teasing. "Would you like some sugary cereal to start your day?" At her question, he shrugged. "Not really. You know I don't have any friends." Okay, he had some, but most people knew him more as an informant than a friend. He never knew when people actually wanted to be his friend or when they were just hoping he'd leak some information for free if they hung out with him. "Hey, lil sis," he said, leaning forward on the counter across from her so that their heads were close. "Why don't we do something together? Some brother sister bonding?" he suggested, then thought. "But not swimming. As long as we don't go swimming, I'll let you in on the latest school gossip. Who broke up with who, which teacher is cheating on their boyfriend, which students cheated on Rivera's last math test..." Yeah, he knew a lot of information that was useless to most, but priceless to others. As much as Jex knew he should learn to swim and that Flo was probably the best person to help him with that, he just couldn't force himself into the water. When he was a child, splashing around in the water was one of his favorite activities. Until that day that he wandered too far from his parents, sneaking away because he thought it'd been fun. He'd cut his foot open on something and began to panic, which only allowed him to go under. It had been one of the scariest moments of his life, and he couldn't get himself to go back in. Showers and baths and rain were fine. He just couldn't go in abody of water. Lake, river, pond, ocean. Nothing. He couldn't do it. The fact that he was barefoot and could easily see the scar whenever he tried to go into the water made it even worse. One day he'd have Flo help him. He wanted to... He was just afraid. ๐โ๐๐ ๐ฃ๐

Cen held back the urge to punch him then and there. He was busy, he didn't have time for this. Sighing he said "Whatever." and led the way outside. Around the school there was a small secluded area that people would to to smoke. At the moment it was empty, which was weird all things considered. Turning to face Ace he said "Let's hurry, as I said before there's a test coming up and if I don't ace it then I'm screwed." no pun intended, he realized as he spoke. Ace was winning. Cen snorted in disbelief "As if. There's no way I'd trust my grades to someone like-" he looked Ace up and down pointedly "You." there was nothing but bitterness in his voice, though the tone he kept was still a fake friendly one. If someone walked by he didn't want them to think they were fighting until they really were. He had a scholarship for good grades to keep after all.

OOC:๐โ๐๐ ๐ฃ๐ here you go finally! Sorry it's admittedly not...as long as I'd hoped..IC: Maynard walked through the front doors of the labs for the morning, but instead of heading into his office this time like he usually did, the man instead went straight to the break room. He was wearing his usual outfit, a white long sleeve button up shirt with black fur patches on the shoulders and elbows, tucked into a pair of black pants with a sort of scaled pattern down the sides that was a mix of dark purple and green. As mentioned, it was how May was often seen at work, but unlike usual, he didn't seem to have the same energy that people seemed to like from him.
Yawning, May poured himself a cup of coffee and sat down at the small table, yawning again. Needless to say he was tired. He had stayed up all night to try and figure out an equation on one of his current projects, and it had sapped all his energy from him. He eventually figured it out, but by then it was already 7 o'clock...in the morning. And he was always at work by 8:30. He supposed a good thing was that, despite the purple under his eyes and his slow movements, he was at least at work on time. One night usually wouldn't be too bad, as he'd don't this before. But the problem was that he was unfortunately sensitive to sleep, and he'd had hardly any of it the previous nights as well.
Trying to blink away the sleep, May looked around the break room, then outside the glass walls into the currently empty hall. He couldn't help but wonder how everyone else was, and if he would even see anyone else before he eventually made his way back to his office to work.

Flo Carter Type 2 Hybrid
At the teasing coming from her brother, Flo couldnโt help but stick her tongue out at him. Naturally this was typical Jex behavior and it wasnโt as if Flo expected anything else from him, nor was she surprised or offended by any of his words, but even still she couldnโt help but be playfully annoyed by her brotherโs antics. โIโll have you know, Jex-Chex, that beauty requires sleep and work. It doesnโt just happen like you might think,โ she told him with a small huff as she pointed her nose upwards. โYou might know that if you spent longer than five minutes on your own appearance,โ she teased him back.
Flo wasnโt going to lie, she looked like a mess in the mornings. Hair tangled and wild with clothes hanging off her small body, and fur sticking out in every which direction. She would need at least an hour to get done in the morning. But that wasnโt really the point here, now was it? Of course not. Besides, on the topic of her pajamas...while yes it was true that it was hot outside, Flo also couldnโt help but get cold during the nights. Sweats just seemed like the best option to the otter-fox girl. Besides, there was no denying that they were extremely comfortable and if allowed to, Flo was likely to stay in them all day.
At the mention of cereal though, Flo nodded eagerly, sticking her hands out to make grabby gestures at her brother, as if expecting him to just make her a bowl of sugary cereal right then and there instead of getting up to do it herself. โPlease, Iโm starving. I feel like I could eat a horse, or maybe even two,โ Flo informed with that typical dramatic flare that accompanied almost everything Flo did. Of course she wasnโt actually hungry enough to devour not one, but two horses. However anything less than that just didnโt quite seem to get the message across that she was starving and required food right now, this very second. If she didnโt get food soon she was surely to fade away into nothing and die right there in front of her twin, and that just wouldnโt do, Flo had things to do today, after all. Withering away into a pile of nothing in front of her brother just wasnโt on the to do list today. Maybe tomorrow.
However Flo paused for a second once Jex suggested they should hang out today. Her brownish rex otter-fox ears bent back against her head as her large eyes found their way up to her brother, staring at him blankly for a moment. Jex wanted to hang out with her. That was all fine and dandy of course, though it did completely and utterly ruin all of her well thought out plans for the day. Plans that she had decided on no more than three minutes ago and were now perhaps the most important plans Flo had ever made. If she was to hang out with her twin today, that would completely erase any and all swimming from her schedule.
Maybe it wouldnโt be the end of the world, but it sure would be close.
However Flo could sacrifice her very important swimming time to spend time with her brother. She could do that for him. So, the girl smiled, beaming up at her twin as her ears shot back up excitedly and her whiskers twitched. โSure Jex! That sounds like fun,โ she told him, scooting her barstool a little closer to sit up right. โWhat did you want to do today, anyways?โ Flo asked him innocently, cocking her head to the side as she turned her curious sky blue eyes to her twin brother.

Jemima Blythe Type 1 Hybrid
Unlike her boss, Jemima had arrived bright and early - even earlier than most - to work today and had already been a busy little bee this morning. The lemur girl had moved from one level of the laboratory to the next, overseeing one thing or another before scurrying off to help someone else with something. Perhaps most impressively though, was that she had done this all without the help of caffeine. It was a wonder how she did it, but somehow she managed to pull it off.
Currently though the girl was racing through the hallways with a small, holographic pad in her hands. She tapped it repeatedly, taking notes on certain subjects that she had already gone over for the day. However note taking was far from her goal of the day, which was to find her boss and speak with him on a few of their projects. Now if only she could actually find the human scientist.
Then, as if the purple lion itself was on her side today, Jemima spotted him. Maynard was just leaving the break room when Jemima caught him, she was still fairly far down the hallway, but maybe if she hurried she could catch him before he disappeared again.
With that in mind, Jemima took off after the leading scientist of the labs, the holographic pad was put away first, and then she was off. Jemima wasnโt all that fast or even tall, but she could use her surroundings to her advantage. Which is exactly what she did as Jemima jumped at the wall, climbing up the small bars until she could reach the ceiling and began to travel that way. The labs were very accommodating for hybrids, and ceiling travel - which mimicked traveling by tree - was the fasted way to go for the determined lemur girl.
It didnโt take her long to catch up to him, and as soon as she was close enough to Maynard, she fell from the ceiling and landed next to him with a thump. Jemima quickly got up to her feet, dusting off her gray shirt and lab coat. Her long sifaka lemur tail swishing slowly begins her. โGood morning sir, itโs nice to see you up and about,โ the lemur scientist greeted him as she finished dusting off her clothes. โI had a few notes I would like to run by you, if thatโs okay,โ Jemima added, putting her full attention onto her boss as she awaited an answer from him.
Maynard was the leading scientist of the entire labs, he was in charge, and although Jemima was directly under him, she still had to answer to the human. Which was fine, Jemima had always considered Maynard to be a reasonable man. However in a laboratory dedicated to bettering the lives of hybrids - and technically humans too, of course - it was hard to answer to a human when you were perhaps the prime personnel to take charge and lead the other scientists here.
