Rory had nothing to do. Of course, the monkey boy rarely had anything going on. He had a job, but besides that he usually spent his days wandering the city and looking for something to do or someone to talk to. So, after a while of sitting around with nothing to do, he finally decided to do out and get some coffee. Well, something. He wasn't quite sure what he wanted. He was actually pretty indecisive, agonizing over the smallest decisions and unsure of what he should do. Even when it came to something as simple as what he wanted to drink (or eat) that day. He'd went through his clothes carefully before picking one, his long fingers sliding over the fabric and then pulling it out of his closet and changing quickly. Once he was dressed, he found his shoes under a blanket in his bedroom and pulled them on, tying them quickly. The boy's bedroom was an absolute mess. He'd moved into his own apartment recently and kept it clean for about two days. Now it was back to the state he normally lived in. It wasn't that he was a messy person, he just didn't have the time to stop and clean. However, as he moved to leave his bedroom, he grabbed a blue shirt that was slung over his desk chair and balled it up, throwing it into the hamper. Blue truly was his color. The shirt he wore now was blue, slightly darker than the dirt one he'd tossed aside on his way out. Leaving the room, he stopped to grab his wallet from the counter and locked the door behind him. As he wandered out of the building and down the street, Rory had a large smile on his face. It was a wonderful day! But when wasn't it a wonderful day? Well, sometimes... but Rory didn't like to think about those days. He was much more of a 'live in the moment' type of guy. He even said hello to a few people that he passed, though he didn't receive much back. A few looks, a few mumbled greetings. Most people ignored him. Rory didn't let it get to him as he finally reached the Hummingbird Cafe and stepped inside, grinning at the smell. He got in line, looking up at the menu as he waited his turn. By the time he got to the front of the line, he gave the cashier a smile. She didn't return it as she welcomed him and asked him what he'd like today. "Um, how about a hot chocolate?" he asked, rubbing his chin. He glanced up at the menu and frowned. "Uh, no! A smoothie." The cashier stopped typing and then started putting in something new. "What kind of smoothie?" she asked. "Umm..." Rory hesitated and he could hear someone behind him in line clear his threat. Suddenly the usually cheerful monkey boy felt his cheeks heat up, making it harder to think. The cashier raised an eyebrow. "Blueberry!" he blurted out, then frowned. Not blueberry! Fruits were good, but he wasn't feeling blueberries. "How about strawberry and banana?" he asked, watching as she once again changed his order. "Kiwi. Strawberry banana kiwi," he said, finally settled. "Will that be all?" He could basically feel the annoyance of the crowd behind him and he hesitated. "Um, a blueberry muffin?" he asked. What was it with him and blueberries today? Seriously! "Or chocolate chip! Yeah, let's go chocolate chip..." The cashier struggled to hold back a sigh of annoyance, speaking before he could change his mind again. "And can I have a name?" Finally! A question he could answer... "R-" He cut himself off. He was normally Rory Hayes, so why not have some fun. "Rudolph Springsteen," he said, trying to avoid looking around when he heard someone call his name. It was Rommy, he could tell by the voice. The cashier told him his total and allowed Rory to pay. When he got his food and slid into a seat, he spotted Rommy and his face broke into a grin. He waved back at her, ignoring the stares they received from others. Taking a sip from his strawberry banana kiwi smoothie, his eyes lingered on her face as she spoke. "I'm great!" he said, the smile never leaving his face. He'd grabbed a plastic knife from the counter and used it to cut his chocolate chip muffin in half before sliding half to her. Chocolate chips were good but marshmallows were his favorite food, but he wasn't sure how well a marshmallow muffin would work. He lowered his voice, letting his eyes wander the area around him before leaning over the table to speak quietly to her. "But today I'm not Rory. I'm Rudolph Springsteen, super secret agent," he said, his eyes glittering playfully as he sat back down and took another sip of his smoothie, biting into his half of the muffin. CreamCrow

Niko was already up and moving for the day. She had a coffee in one hand and her phone in the other. Currently she was speaking to a model that worked for her agency. This particular one had been causing some problems and Niko truly was losing her patience. Keeping her voice level she said "One more move like this and you'll have to find a new agency." before she ended the call and shoved her phone into her pocket. Models, so dramatic. She thought this, ignoring the fact that she to used to be a model. Currently she was sat in a local Cafe. Their coffee was good and she had needed a coffee break.
The wind ruffled Sokeris feathers as he sat perched on a tall building. Currently he was on the hunt for a unfaithful partner. As usual, the hybrid would do almost any job given the right price. That could vary from finding a cat to taking out a lose end, and not in the date sort of way. Yawning, he watched the people mingle below him, his enhanced sight following anyone who caught his eye. He ran a hand through his hair and shifted into a more comfortable position.
"Come and get some fresh fish, caught just this morning!" Avi called, voice loud and clear over the general murmur of the crowds. She was at the docks selling the morning catch. It had been a good day for fishing and she wanted to get everything sold. Avi was working along side her coworker who was a seal hybrid. Unlike other humans, she had nothing against the hybrids and could mostly keep up them. Not to mention they were helpful on the boat.
Cen stood and stretched. He just finished one of his classes of the day. He had one more today, but some time in between the two classes to relax. The tall ears on his head twitched as he walked out of the room, listening for anything and everything. He had a bag on his shoulder and his left hand was wrapped with bandages, and injury from a fight earlier this week. There were some other students around, most absorbed by their own work.

OOC:. Sorry it's a little short, I'm still practicing making them longer.IC: Malakai was currently at his apartment, getting dressed to head out. He was going to meet Riley, his best friend for over a year now. It was Saturday, so that meant that it was their meet-up day. Of course the two did just meet up whenever they felt like it. All they had to do was call the other and if they were free they'd meet, but today, today was their scheduled meet every week that they always kept. At least as much as they possibly could. Kai was really excited to see her again, even though it hadn't been long. He always was. He didn't have many friends, and she was his best.
Malakai knew his sister wasn't home at the moment, so when he left and locked the door, he was sure to put the keys where they usually did, in a hidden gap under the mail slot. He then headed off down the elevator and onto the street. Thankfully the Hummingbird Cafe wasn't too far away from their home.
When he arrived, he ordered his usual, a vanilla malt thick-shake. When he got his drink he took a seat out the front so he could easily keep an eye out for when Riley arrived. It wasn't really hard to find her even if he was inside though. He could never mistake those big white bunny ears sticking out of her head. He liked those bunny ears, they'd always really fit her.

(Don't worry about it!) It was Saturday. Riley knew what that meant - today she got to hang out with Malakai. She was very careful about their weekly meeting, scheduling things around it and only canceling if she was sick or had something that she absolutely could not get out of. Riley was the type to cherish the friends she did have, knowing that it wasn't always easy to find a friend that you truly connected with and wanted to spend plenty of time with. Malakai was one of those friends and they really made a good pair. She'd overslept a bit, but she knew Malakai would understand if she was a minute or two late. She rushed to get ready, heading out at the last minute. She made her way out to the Hummingbird Cafe - it was their usual hangout spot, as well as the first place they met. She could remember it as if it had happened yesterday. A Saturday morning, just like this. Riley had decided to get some coffee before starting her day. On her way out, they'd collided and Riley's coffee had ended up all over the sidewalk. She'd been staring at her spilled drink when he offered to buy her another one and they'd spent a few hours there, talking and drinking. That's when Riley knew she'd found a friend and she hadn't wanted to let him go, so they'd agreed to meet up the next Saturday. Then the one after that. Then the one after that. Then it became a tradition and he became one of her best friends. Riley wandered down the street, smiling when she caught sight of Malakai's head seated outside. She approached and stood next to his seat, not sliding in across from him yet. "Hey!" She greeted, glad to see him. "I'm gonna run in and get something to eat and drink," she said. She left Malakai at the table and headed inside, returning a few minutes later with a blueberry shake and blueberry muffin. She sat down across from him and smiled. "So, how's stuff going, Kai?" she asked, taking a sip from her shake. "Did you want a chunk of my muffin?" she offered. She was more than willing to share with Kai, something she didn't always do for other people. Fire on Cloud Nine

Romola "Rommy" Costa Williams type 1 shifter (snow leopardl) Rommy grinned down at the chocolate chip muffin. She licked her lips as she grabbed and slid it closer to herself. Before sinking some claws in it and bringing it up to her mouth so she could take a bite. Mmm, chocolaty goodness. It was warm too! Pure bliss. "You are a blessing, Rory," she said to him after swallowing the food with a grin. Who was just so willing to share food like that without needing to ask? No one. Absolutely no one. No one but her darling Rory!
When he explained he was undercover, her eyebrows shot up in excitement. "Ooh! My bad, my bad Mr. Springsteen. My, you just look so similar to my best friend!" the snow leopard said with a much too revealing grin. It was a good thing she wasn't trying to by a spy in the future, as she could not keep that hidden. "Might as well introduce myself then, Springsteen," Rommy winked not so slyly, "I am Costa Romola Sma- Smail- uh. Yes. Smail. Call me Costy!"
It was a wonderful secret agent name in her opinion. Nobody would know Romola Costa Williams's double identity was Costa Romola Smail. Well, her fake last names was supposed to be her last name in reverse- by the last -liw was troubling to the tongue. So she cut it down. Even if the name didn't give it away - which it totally wouldn't - Rommy still had her distinct personality and appearance. The spy life was no life for her. No matter how much she may wish it.

Rory was satisfied with his muffin, but he wasn't overly amazed. Maybe banana nut or triple berry would have been better. Or even blueberry. After all, he enjoyed blueberries, he just wasn't in a very blueberry mood today. He wished he'd had more time to think on what muffin to get, but the people in line behind him had been getting annoyed. Even the (occasionally) air headed monkey boy could tell that. At least Rommy seemed to be enjoying it. There was a slight smile on his face as he watched her eat the muffin. He ripped another small chunk off of his half and popped it in his mouth. Okay, it was pretty good even if it wasn't the flavor he'd been craving. Oh, he wished he could figure out what flavor he was craving... Rommy's voice snapped him back to reality and he smiled. "A blessing? That might be going a bit too far. But thanks! You know I'll always share my food with my friends," he said with a laugh. He took another bite of his half before sliding it over to Rommy. "Feel free to have the rest. I'm not super hungry and we could always go grab lunch or dinner or something together," he suggested, his face turning slightly pink at the suggestion. He liked to do things with his friends, but it seemed that they were already busy pretty often with work or their other friends or boyfriends or girlfriends. He sometimes went out to grab a meal with Rommy, but he was still a bit nervous about being rejected. Then his face lit up and the boy bounced in his seat. "Or we could make dinner or lunch! We could- We could pick something. And then go to your place- or mine, it's not important- and make food!" He seemed overly eager about such a simple idea, but Rory was enthusiastic about almost anything he did. He was just a ball of seemingly limitless energy. When he didn't have any energy is when one should be concerned about dear Rory. When she responded to his explanation about how he was Rudolph Springsteen tonight, Rory cleared his throat and made his face more serious, but he was fighting a smile. "Oh, no need to call me Mr. Springsteen. That's my father." He seemed to be making his voice deeper than normal, as well as they overly dramatic laugh that followed the statement. Yeah, Rory was getting into this whole spy thing. "You can call me Rudolph..." He hesitated, thinking of a silly nickname for a guy named Rudolph. Nothing came to mind, so he finished the thought. "Just Rudolph. That's all." Well, that was lame, but Rory couldn't think of any nicknames for Rudolph. "Pleasure to meet you, Costy," he said, reaching a hand out to shake hers with a special dramatic flair to it. One or two people had looked over in that direction, but Rory didn't seem to notice. Instead he sipped his shake and smiled. Ooh, maybe he should get a shake with all the flavors... Would the cafe let him do that? He sure hoped so... No, Rory... Focus on Rommy (or Costy), not shakes. He let his gaze drift from his cup to her face. "Now that we know each other, how about we partner up for this mission, Costy? I'm normally a lone wolf, but this is my most intense mission yet - eat dinner." It had come to him at the last minute. If Rommy was tempted to reject his offer of making lunch or dinner and eating with him, he'd make it a mission! Then she couldn't refuse! CreamCrow

She was more than willing to share with Kai, something she didn't always do for other people. Fire on Cloud Nine .Malakai didn't have many friends. Now that wasn't because he wasn't a likeable person, he was nice enough. Maybe he annoys people, maybe he's clingy? He supposed he could believe that somewhat, but honestly he really wasn't that sure exactly why he only had a couple friends, he just knew that he did. He didn't really mind though, cause the friends he had he was pretty close with. Riley especially, by far. Malakai was definitely glad for that day. Ironically it had started out badly. He had received a text from his girlfriend telling him that it was over, cause of someone else. Although he knew that it wouldn't last, it was obvious, but it still hurt to get it, so he had decided to go get something to drink to try and calm him. It was only a coffee, but it usually worked. Then he wasn't paying attention and ran into Riley as he was getting up, making the mess. Kai had felt guilty for it because it was his fault, so he had bought her another coffee. He supposed time got away from them, cause they ended up talking for over an hour or two. And since then, they never stopped meeting, every Saturday. Now they were the best of friends. Malakai spotted Riley fairly quickly, by her ears of course. Only a moment later he caught her gaze as she spotted him, so he smiled, waving her over. "Hey Riley!" He said, clearly happily. He then shrugged. "Sure, take your time," he said, Hefner sitting back and watching as she went inside. While she was gone, Kai stretched and yawned, leaning his head back and closing his eyes. He was pretty tired, as he was still out looking for a job, and it was kinda stressing him out. He opened his eyes a few moments later, seeing that Riley was just coming out, and he smiled. "Oh you know. Still searching for a new job, but otherwise, pretty good," he said, shrugging. At her offer Kai nodded slowly. "Maybe a little one, if you're sure," he said. He wasn't usually a fan of taking something from someone else, food especially, but he didn't so much mind from Riley. He'd only really accept small things though, mostly because he didn't have to pay for it so he didn't need much. "And how are you doing lately yourself?" Kai asked, resting his head on his fist.

Riley had enough friends. Not too many and not too few. However, Malakai was by far her best friend. She'd do almost anything for him, she realized. There was just something about him that made it easy for her to relax, and that's what she liked about him. See, Riley had a tendency to stress over the small things. She'd worry about things that she didn't need to worry about and get herself all upset. Something about Malakai let her stress melt away and she could actually relax around him. It was one of the easiest friendships she'd ever had. Maybe that's why their little Saturday hangouts were so important to her, why she made a big effort to never miss a single one. They hung out more than once a week, but there was something special about Saturday's. So it was no surprise that the girl had a clear memory of the day she met Malakai. It was only a year or so ago, but it seemed so much longer to her. Since then, they'd been there for each other through everything. Sickness, injuries, breakups. They'd had good times and bad times, but one thing was certain: she knew she could rely on Malakai. He would be there for her when she needed and she'd make an effort to be there when he needed it. There were very few things she wouldn't drop and rush to his side if he called her for help. When Riley had spotted Malakai waiting for her, it had been impossible to stop a smile from spreading over her features and she'd noticed the way her heart had seemed to speed up. Yes, she like-liked him and had only recently realized it. Of corse, like any good friend, Riley did her best to push away those feelings. Malakai was a friend, and she didn't want to embarrass herself or ruin their relationship if he didn't want to be more than friends. Of course, that didn't stop her from thinking about it as she paid for her food and slid into the seat across from him. When he accepted her offer of a piece of her muffin, she ripped a chunk off and handed it to him. "You know I never mind sharing with you, Kai," she said. She stuffed a bit in her mouth, chewing and swallowing it before nodding. "No new leads on a job?" she asked with a slight frown. "My boss was talking about hiring one or two new people. I could probably get you an interview," she offered. It was a well paying job too. Riley's apartment was small and cramped, but she could afford it comfortably and have some money left over after paying for necessities. When he asked how she was doing, she shrugged. "Fine. Nothing new is really happening with me. You know how life is," she said. Sometimes she got exciting breaks, but it was normally just a cycle of work and sleep and work and sleep and work and sleep. Nothing horrifying and nothing amazing. She looked up from her smoothie, giving him a mischievous smile. "Let's do something fun today," she said. "You know? Like not just sitting around and taking. Let's go do something fun. Something that we'll laugh about and enjoy and remember vividly," she suggested, raising an eyebrow. She wasn't taking about anything that would cause trouble. No, just something a little out of the ordinary. "You in?" Fire on Cloud Nine

The Carter household was quiet when Jex Carter climbed out of bed. His parents were off on some trip and Flo was either still sleeping or just not making a lot of noise. He didn't care either way, to be honest. All he knew was that his sister didn't wake him up early and he was very appreciative of that. The teenage boy groaned, not wanting to get out of bed, though he knew that wasn't an option. He threw his blanket off of his body, rubbing his eyes as he sat up. He took a long time to get out of bed every morning. In fact, he'd never been one to just jump out of bed in the morning. Letting out a late yawn, the boy swung his legs over the side of his bed and sat up. He stayed in that position for a moment before forcing himself to his feet. Once on his feet, he went towards the bathroom, his feet dragging as he walked. His hair was even more of a mess than usual, but Jex ran a few fingers through it to make it look somewhat decent before hopping into the shower. He completed his morning routine as he always did, showering first and then got out to brush his teeth and run a comb through his hair, grunting each time it got stuck on a tangle in his thick brown hair. He'd just shave it all off, he decided. Even as he made the promise, Jex knew he was too attached to his hair to just shave it all off like some kind of hooligan or wild animal. Then he changed. Jex wasn't a huge fan of shirts or shoes. He didn't mind pants (and didn't want to make Flo uncomfortable by walking around in his underwear), but he was almost always seen barefoot. If someone forced him to wear shoes, he had a reliable pair of sandals that worked good. Besides that, he owned (but rarely wore) any shoes a young man might need. A pair of stiff black dress shoes. Some winter boots. A pair of running shoes. Even rain boots (but those were from his childhood and probably hadn't fit since he was ten). So dressing didn't take him long. In fact, all he did was take off his blue plaid pajamas pants and replace them with a loose pair of red basketball shorts. Jex had no shame about his body. He was skinny, and though he had muscle, he clearly wasn't as athletic as some guys his age. He had absolutely no problem with this. His feet either. They were large, and he had a scar on the top of his big toe on his right foot, but there was nothing disgusting or embarrassing about his feet. Once he was satisfied with his appearance for the day, Jex exited the bathroom and tossed his pajama pants on his bed. They'd be ready for him tonight. He made his way silently to the kitchen, looking through what they had for breakfast. He pulled out a package of sugary cereal, but his gaze lingered on the recipe drawer. He could make himself and his sister a nice breakfast of pancakes, but cereal was much safer. He'd been practically banned from cooking since he'd almost burned down the house. His parents weren't here to see, and he wouldn't leave any evidence if the house was in one piece. Would Flo tell on him? He'd hope not, but he wasn't sure about his sister at times. Jex debated for a few moments before pouring himself a bowl of cereal. Maybe he'd ask Flo about making dinner tonight. After the last little incident, he'd been taught how to properly put out a fire instead of making it worse, so he was fairly confident that the house wouldn't burn down. It wasn't that he was irresponsible, but he never seemed to grasp the fine art of cooking. Maybe it was curse... Yeah, he liked to think it was a curse instead of his simple incompetence with a stove. Jex sat down at the table and took a scoop of the cereal towards his mouth, only remembering to put in milk when he bit down on the very disappointing dry cereal. Milk seemed to make it much better. With he milk added to his cereal, Jex began to eat, humming a bit as he stared at the wall across from his seat and waited for Flo to arrive from wherever she was. He hadn't wanted to barge in her bedroom to see if she was still sleeping or actually out somewhere. 𝕊’𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖(Sorry - not my best but I hope it's alright)

OoC :: Ah! Sorry, I feel bad, I didn't see you two talking about that before I got that up! But I could really take it down if needed, I don't mind at all.

(Don't feel bad! It's just a bit of an awkward coincidence that we both went for the same character at the same time. Since we were only discussing and you actually wrote a reply I'm totally cool with either letting you go or doing a coin flip)

"You in?" Fire on Cloud NineOOC: .IC: Malakai knew that Riley always stressed about most things. It was something he was aware he could help with, most of the time. He actually stressed a lot himself, often with things that don't even matter, Kai just did his best to hide it for her sake, because it would never help. It wasn't too bad though, he didn't have too much to really worry about when he was alone, and when he was with Riley the worries just seemed to go away anyway. Honestly so far with their Saturday meetings, Kai had only missed a couple. Only for major things though. These meet ups were definitely important to him. They were the highlight of his weeks for sure. That was another thing that Malakai loved about their relationship. The two had become great friends so quickly, it was surprising, but it was nice. Now, only a year or so later, they were always there for each other when they needed it. The rabbit and gala hybrid had seen him at his highest and at his lowest points. And apart from his sister, she had been the only person to see him at his very lowest points. He trusted her, a lot. And honestly that was partly why he liked her so much. He liked her more then a friend, and he had for probably longer then he'd be willing to admit. Although he had always kept it hidden from her, rather successfully it seemed. He was just too scared to actually talk her, in fear that it might ruin their bond as friends. Kai was a coward, he knew that, and he told himself every time he had missed a perfect opportunity to tell Riley, and yet here he was, still not having said anything, and likely he expected it not to change for a while now. Still, even if he doesn't say anything Kai still loved the warm feeling he got around her, how his heartbeat sped up significantly and his heart fluttered occasionally. Kai chuckled and slowly nodded, taking the chunk she gave him and buying it in half, even though it was small enough to eat in one go. "Yeah I know," he said happily. Even though he knew Riley never minded, it was just the polite pat too him that always asked, just to be sure. Slowly he shook his head. "No, it seems like no one is hiring lately," Kai shrugged, looking down. Maybe he'd do better over school holidays, but he wasn't sure. At her suggestion he looked back up, smiling a little wider, simply at her willingness to help, though at this point he should have expected it from her. "You really think you could do that? Your not worried about me cramping your style?" He asked playfully, laughing. Though honestly she was definitely a lot better at he job then Kai would consider himself to be. Malakai nodded slowly as she answered his question. "Yeah I know all right. The monotony of it all isn't fun," he said with a shrug, looking down. Life seemed to be just, well boring. There was never any variation. For him sometimes there was cause he had no work yet, but for Riley it must just be the same thing over and over, and he knew how that was well. As she continued though, Kai looked up, after a few seconds deciding to nod. "You know, I'm in, what did you have in mind?" He asked curiously, raising his eyebrow playfully. Why not right? Something fun, something to always remember with Riley. What could be the harm, Kai was all for it.

I’ll add you when I finally get around to adding everyone, lol. You’re free to roleplay though, and if you really want, we have a discord chat as well. It’s mostly just for convenience, chatting goes on here as well. Actually, I can’t add you yet, due to the setting of the roleplay it is required that everyone makes at least one human. So I am going to have to ask that you make a human as well, and then I can add you.)
