( Alright, sounds good then! Can I ask what his other personality is like, though? And maybe the details behind it in general? I have limited knowledge about multiple personalities and the like, so I'd like to have Brynn respond to it appropriately if it ever comes up in the RP, XD )
It had been a couple days since Brynn's last shift with Drake, so there was definitely some stuff to share about school. Undoubtedly, the highlight of her week was her poor excuse of an interaction with Winter, but she was reluctant to indulge that information at this point in time. So instead, she shrugged lightly, hid a small grimace behind another smile, and said, "The usual. I mean, the cheerleaders like to pretend like they're all best friends, but they talk behind each other's backs constantly. I overheard Millie talking about how she made out with Naomi's boyfriend last night, though." There was a reason that Brynn didn't associate with most of the cheerleaders at her school - they clearly weren't nice people. They were two-faced in the worst way.
( Haha, great! XD Hmm, good question. I was going to say that maybe my dragon boy decided to come down from whatever mountain he was living on previously because he was getting bored of the isolation? Possibly a bit lonely too, not that he would admit to that. I'm thinking that maybe our characters have a rather casual first meeting, and then get into the meat of the plot a bit later. I don't have much else besides that, unless you have something else in mind? )

(Of course! Drake's other personality is named Sam. He's a six year old boy who acts pretty much as you would act. He was abused by his father until the age of eleven, to which he was then taken to the same orphanage/center thing Winter is in. He got adopted not long after by a lovely old man he calls Grandpa. Anyway, Sam was created as a kind of friend/companion to Drake when he was younger, thus the young age he is. I don't now much about multiple personalities either, so I'm mostly going off a video I saw of someone who was speaking about their own experiences with it. You can tell when he's about to switch personalities when Drake suddenly stares off into space for a bit, unresponsive until the switch is through.)
"Oh, I can see that. Those two have been at each other's throats all semester," Drake responded with a small chuckle. He could find amusement in the drama mainly because he wasn't in any of it. That didn't mean he approved of all the underhanded things the students did to each other, but petty stuff like this he could laugh about. "What about for you? Anything interesting happening for you?"
(A chill meeting. I like it. ^^ They could meet on the street and strike up a conversation because of some reason or another, and then depart, neither thinking they'll run into each other again. Yet he could tell she had a trace of the Old Blood, the kind of pure bred races, and, out of curiosity, tries to run into her again. Or whatever will be natural to him.)

( Oh, that's really interesting! Hmm, maybe we can say that Brynn has already seen Drake's other personality once or twice? So she knows how to react to it if it ever happens again over the course of the RP? )
"Makes me glad I'm not actually friends with either of them," Brynn mumbled to herself in agreement, a slight smile of her own upturning her mouth. When Drake asked about herself, she sobered almost instantly, her body freezing up a bit and giving away the answer to his question even before she had a chance to verbally respond to it. "Well," she hedged, shifting her eyes about the room in agitation, "I have this project to work on with a partner." She paused, biting her lip and then grumbling out sulkily, "And my partner for it is the moodiest grump I've ever had the misfortune of talking to."
( Haha, my dragon would likely say something about her having traces of the Old Blood in her right off the bat, the moment he picks up on it. He doesn't always mean to, but he has the tendency to make pretty grand first impressions, XD Then maybe after that, he finds her again later on and she's maybe like being harassed by someone and on a whim he decides to intervene(whether she actually needs the help or not), and it's then that he reveals the true nature of what he really is. I'm thinking that maybe their first couple interactions are coincidences, and as his curiosity toward her gradually grows over time he finds himself seeking her out on purpose. I also have this strange idea for a side character who's my dragon boy's sister, and the two like always get into little fights because she's fond of humans, and he's really kind of just like "meh" toward them, haha. I think it's a cute idea, XD )

( Aw, that's great. :3 Can't wait to see that! )
Brynn tapped her fingers against the table idly, contemplating her response. "I don't know much about how he does his work, or if he puts any kind of real effort into it, " she thought back to their discussion about the project and made a face. "We agreed to split the workload. He said he'd have his half done by Friday and the rest would be up to me. I don't think we'll be seeing much of each other aside from when he gives me his part of it on Friday." She was honestly a bit dissatisfied with this fact. Not that she particularly wanted to work with Winter like group partners should, because that would mean spending time with him, but she was undeniably a bit put off by how little he seemed to care about the project.
( Haha, that's good then. XD Oh my goodness, I love that idea! XD And also, since he's spent so much time avoiding civilization for the past couple centuries, he's like so confused by all the modern day stuff, haha. Like your girl and my dragon girl - who is more familiar with the modern world because she never really distanced herself from it - are just out having all sorts of fun and he's just like, "what are all these strange human contraptions? This doesn't make any sense!" Haha! My dragon siblings are also gonna be like twins? I mean, they're dragons, so they came from eggs, but they came from the same... uh, batch? XD So they were like super close when they were really young, but they became more distant as time wore on because she decided to befriend the humans, while he gradually came to distrust them. I'm thinking that maybe their parents/other siblings were killed by human dragon hunters, so that's why he is the way he is toward them. Like, maybe at some point, he legitimately hated humans, but over time that kinda just settled into indifference. At some point a long time ago, he was likely one of those dragons that used to torment human towns and villages, too. XD Something that his sister disapproved of, obviously. Haha, it's like these two are a comedy riot in present day, but they actually have a very convoluted and heavy past. XD )

( Oh, definitely! )
Brynn heaved a sigh. She cast a glance off to the side for a moment, almost as if she didn't even want to speak his name - which she supposed wasn't too far from the truth, honestly. Eventually, she gave in, saying, "His name is Jace Winters. Seems to prefer just being called Winter, though." She glanced at the clock. Her shift started in about 7 minutes. Then she could finally fall into the blissful few hours of ignorant distraction that she loved. "He's a serious pain in the butt."
( Yes, exactly! Their relationship has been through a lot. In present day, they're rather close, but there was a time in the past when they both felt as though they may have hated one another. They probably got into physical fights a lot of the time as well... both in human form and as giant dragons, haha. I can only imagine the damage they may have caused to the forests back in those days. Hmm, now I have two dragon characters to name and describe, XD I don't know if my dragon girl will be there all the time, but she's definitely gonna be important to the RP I think. )

Brynn did a serious double-take at Drake's words, her own eyes widening comically in her surprise. The words slipped out before she could think to stop them, "You know him?!" The shock was written all over her face for a few moments; it was admittedly quite funny. If she'd been him, she may have laughed at her own reaction to learning this. "Oh my god," she groaned, shaking her head, "how do you deal with him? Is it normal for him to act like a hostile porcupine when someone approaches him with friendliness? Should I have not offered to share my notes with him?" She wasn't sure why the words were tumbling out like this. Maybe she was in too much shock to bother keeping her mouth closed. "There have been way too many uncanny coincidences this week. I may need to re-evaluate my opinion of not believing in them."
( They fought like a couple of angsty teenagers, XD But okay, I'll keep that in mind! I need to at least give her a name to reference her by though. They both need names. They're centuries-old dragons, so they're probably going to have weird 'dragon' names, and then more normal human ones to help them blend in better, haha. )

His laughter dying away, Drake shook his head. "Winter and I were in the same orphanage. Oops, don't tell him I let that slip. He's prickly on the subject," he told her, knowing that Winter didn't necessarily like the fact that he was an orphan floating about. Why? It was just a sore spot for the older boy. "Yes, he pretty much acts like a hostile porcupine, but once you get to know him, he isn't that bad. Difficult, hard-headed, and determined to a fault. He means well, but his social skills need improving. Look, as much of a pain in the but as he might be, trust me when I say he's not a bad partner to have. Rough around the edges, but he'll do his part to match your expectations or even past them. If he gives you a hard time, call me. I'll straighten him out."
(Haha, I love it. XD I can't wait to get to know them better! The sweet babies. ^^ )

That certainly caught Brynn's attention. So Winter was an orphan, then? Could that possibly be the reason, or at least one reason, why he was the way he was? Not that she knew what being an orphan was like. But honestly, Drake said they were in the same orphanage, so that meant Drake was one too. And Drake was pretty great in her books, nothing like her grump of a project partner. Maybe Winter had other reasons for his attitude.
She shrugged to herself and sighed. "I'm not sure 'getting to know him' is an option at this point. Pretty sure he thinks I have ulterior motives for trying to be nice to him. I honestly don't even know why I..." she trailed off, before deciding not to finish that thought. She was going to say, 'I honestly don't even know why I felt inclined to be nice to him', but she didn't want to offend Drake by saying something like that about his friend. Instead, she just said, "Well, that makes me feel better about the project, at least."
( I'm glad you're liking the sound of them, XD I think they're gonna be super fun to RP. Lots of back and forth banter, that's for sure! )

And there was a whole list of problems Winter had, but those weren't Drake's stories to tell, though he was more than happy to help someone gain better knowledge of his friend. He needed someone who understood him who might be able to help. "And I'm not going to stand here and tell you that you should," he replied. "But Sam adores him, if that helps sway your opinion." Sam, of course, being his childish second personality that took over from time to time. Brynn had the chance to see a small portion of Sam a couple months back when the child was having a bad day. The switch hadn't lasted long, thankfully, but it was still kind of embarrassing. "Feed him chocolate. He'll at least mellow out for a time."
(They're going to be great, I just know it. ^^ )

"Chocolate," Brynn repeated dryly, looking over at Drake with a single raised brow. The look only lasted a few seconds though, as she was soon distracted by the time. "Heh. I should probably get to work now," she muttered, standing up from her seat and stretching. She cast another quick look at her friend, seeming to think about something for a moment, and then said, "But. Thanks for the advice and stuff. I'll... try to keep it in mind next time I see him." Which she hoped wouldn't be until their next class. Despite Drake's words, she was still apprehensive about meeting Winter again.

"True," Brynn allowed a slight chuckle to pass through her lips at his words about their manager. She said nothing further about Winter, but it was clear she had taken Drake's words into account and would be thinking on them later. She just didn't have the time or desire to stand around talking about him right now anymore. So she made her way out of the back room and onto the floor, ready to start working. Despite herself though, she couldn't help but snicker ever so softly to herself at the notion of chocolate being a weakness for Winter. Then again, it was chocolate, so... she guessed it wasn't all that surprising.
( Should we do a little time skip to the end of their shifts? Unless we can think of something entertaining to happen while they're working, XD )

( XD Fair point. That sounds good to me. I'll start it off this time! )
Several hours later, Brynn heaved her last sigh of today's shift. Straightening out the last few clothing racks, she glanced at the watch on her wrist before casting her eyes toward the break room where she'd left her bag when she'd come in earlier. "Aaand we're done," she muttered to herself as she made her way back there. Most people would be relieved to be done work, but to Brynn, it meant going home to that suffocating environment she hated. She couldn't really stay longer, though... she had to go some time. "Wish I could stay here all night sometimes," she grumbled quietly.

"Here's a heck of a lot more fun than being at home," Brynn mumbled slightly under her breath, just quiet enough so Drake couldn't hear. She didn't have a problem with him knowing some things, as he already knew of her deceased older brother, but she wasn't keen on anyone knowing just how miserable she was at home. No one needed to know that. Let them all think she had the perfect home life, it was much easier that way. "Eh sure, why not," she agreed easily and in a louder tone of voice to his offer, grabbing up her things before heading back out. "Got nothing better to do. Let's go." Plus Drake was pretty great company, she found. She valued his friendship, even if she didn't say it very often.

Drake smiled as he gathered up his things. "Great," he said. He liked Brynn. She was a great person who shared similar interest with the boy, as well as patient and helpful. If there was ever a person he would trust to do a task for him, and do it well, it would be Brynn. Not to mention he was glad to have another friend his own age to hang out with. "Order whatever you want. It'll be my treat," he told her as he walked with her out of the store.
At this time of day, the mall was pretty packed. A lot of other people get off work, so that means more customers for the stores. The noise of the crowd was deafening, but Drake didn't seem to mind too much. He had worked here for a while and had gotten used to not being able to hear yourself think. If anything, it kind of helped keep Sam in check too when he couldn't hear the boy's own dialog inside his mind.

"Oh, no," Brynn said in protest as they left the store, "I can pay for my own. You don't need to do that." She knew that Drake was well aware of her financial situation - her family was one of the wealthiest in the area, of course he knew that she had money, and plenty of it. He also knew that she really didn't need this job she had at the clothing store. It wasn't that she was too stuck up to allow someone of lower standing to pay for her, it was more along the lines that she was stubborn like that. She'd always hated people doing things for her that she was capable of doing herself. A funny thing, coming from someone who lived an arguably pampered lifestyle where people were literally paid to tend to her wants and needs. "Seriously," she went on as they traversed the busy mall, "I can definitely buy my own." She herself wasn't entirely sure why she always insisted on being stubborn like that. It was just something she did.

"I know that you are more than able to pay for your own," Drake told her, amused more than anything. Unlike her, he had a more simpler life. He lived in a small apartment with his grandfather who was a retired professor. While they weren't rich by any means, they were able to get by better than some. Drake did need this job to help support the two of them, but he wasn't entirely pressed for money. "Next time we go get something to eat, you can pay for the both of us. This time, however, I'm buying. Consider it my apology that you're having to deal with Winter." He cast the girl a playful smile as they weaved their way to the coffee shop just beside the food court.

Brynn heaved an exaggerated, long-suffering sigh and rolled her eyes at his words. There was a tiny grin on her lips though, so she wasn't actually bothered. "Alright fine," she finally agreed, "but only because I'll never get an apology coffee from the moody grump himself. I'll just have to settle for a replacement in lieu of his." She stepped into the line-up in front of the coffee shop, already knowing what she was going to get. She wasn't the biggest fan of hot drinks, most types of coffee included, but she was more than okay with a simple hot chocolate. Her tastes in drinks was rather plain and simple, she would admit. "Oh, and when I pay next time, you can just go ahead and consider it an apology of my own. For putting up with me." It wasn't like Brynn was difficult to work with or get along with, but she always had this nagging feeling in the back of her head that she was... not exactly a burden, but someone others tolerated because people were intimidated by her family. In the long run, that worry was one of many extra things she really didn't have time to bother with amongst all her other internal issues, but it was still one that remained ever-present in the back of her mind.
