Mark nodded at the story. He went through a similar experience with Mae. "I went through a similar experience. When I got Mae here." He pointed at the cat who then rubbed her head on his hand, a sign of true affection and care. "Yep saved her from a group of outsiders who were starving. Gave them some old trailmix to leave the girl alone and she's been with me ever since. Lu though I found injured when scavenging for stuff to trade. Brought her back to good health and she decided to stick around and has been my eye in the sky ever since. Warning me and telling me where something good to trade is. Smart blue jay she is."

I'll start. You've been added btw)
Stephen kicked down the old, rotting wooden door to a house, stepping inside with his gun held out in front of him, prepared in case of an attack. After checking through the rooms to see no-one was there, he began rummaging through cupboards and drawers, looking for things that could be of use. Finding nothing, he sighed, and headed back to the door, standing in the place where it had once been and gazing out at the barren landscape.
Hosa gave him a small, friendly smile. "That's nice. I guess you're pretty glad you saved the- really?" The last part was directed at Viola, who had taken the liberty of trying to climb onto his lap. "I already told you, you're too big to do that." He laughed as she pushed him over and tried to lick his face. "Noooooooo, Viola, stop it!"

(Alright, and xD I noticed, also thank you <3 )
Serafina padded along silently, her gaze lingering boredly-- and stupidly-- at the ground. She should be watching where she was going, in case she happened to run into someone. She had a dirty, ripped up sweater on, and her hands fidgeted with one of her long, thin daggers absently. A headache pounded her head, although she paid little to no attention to it, other than noting in the back of her mind that she should drink some water soon, or find shade. She wasn't sure which one.

Nick and Liss shared a glance, as if an unspoken communication passed between the two. Apparently the communication was rather subpar, however, as Liss ended up just shrugging to which Nick shrugged back.
"Well alright then, sounds good. Threes more likely to keep unfriendly folk away," Nick declared, his deep voice remarkably cheery. Liss seemed a little more uneasy but offered no objection, instead reassuring herself with the presence of her weapons.
"You can call me Spider, this is Mr. Sassy," Liss said, her previously wary voice gaining something of a smug or amused tone. Nick scowled heavily and quickly went to correct her. "Nick. My name is Nicolas, Nick for short."

Alexander planned to keep walking until dark, just hoping he would find a decent place to sleep when the sun set. He didn't like being out at night very long for obvious reasons. He reached the shade of an overpass on the highway and sat down by the columns to take another drink. He decided to stay there for a bit longer this time, maybe even until nightfall. The barrels of sand and the old dividers of the road could hide him from anyone passing by whether on foot or driving by.

Mark smiled when he saw the dog try and attack Hosa with love. "T-That's great." Somehow this guy he met no more than an hour ago made him feel...different. Happy, a feeling long forgotten. "So Hosa. How has life been to you? Seems it has given you. Is that a scythe?" He asked eyeing the weapon wearily. He had never seen one until now and somehow it frightened him.

L O R D so much stuff to reply to)
Stephen pushed back his hood, squinting up at the sun. He estimated it was around late afternoon, soon to be dusk. As his gaze drifted back to the ground, he saw a figure, dark against the dry brown earth. It didn't appear to be looking up, so he let it approach him until it was about ten feet away from the house, at which point he held up his gun and pointed it at the stranger. "Stop right there." His words had come out harsher than intended, and he inwardly winced, especially as it seemed to be a young woman looking even more ragged and dehydrated than your usual loner.
Fiona nodded, grinning slightly at Nick's partner's name for him. "Spider, Nick. Call me Flame." Ember chose this moment to make it clear she was, in fact, a living creature resting on Fiona's shoulders, rather than a scarf. "This furry snake here is Ember. I'd keep your bags tightly shut around her; she gets rather peckish at times." She glanced up at the sky, then back at them. "Want to find shelter for the night? The sun'll be setting soon."
I reference the time a lot in my posts so you guys get an idea about the scenario your characters are in, keep in mind sunset is soon, but I'll probably chuck that in my post when it actually happens)
Sera walked directly down the center of the road, almost daring any cars to hit her. Not that she really cared about death; after living in this hell-hole of a world for a few years you got pretty sick of it. She began humming softly, a tune she somehow knew, but had forgotten where she'd heard it. As she neared an old overpass, she slowed her pace, getting a weird feeling. She couldn't see anyone in the heat haze, but she tightened her grip on the gun anyway, starting to walk towards it slowly and as silently as she could.
"Yep. It's pretty handy, actually." Hosa grinned. "Usually just the sight of it scares people off. Although, some people react with a fight or flight reaction; some crazy old man mistook me for the Grim Reaper and started shooting at me." He added with a laugh. Despite the fact Blue didn't seem to trust him enough to give him his real name, Hosa still felt comfortable around him. Or at least a lot more comfortable than he'd felt ever since leaving the shelter.

Alexander was behind the barrier not a few feet away from Sera but couldn't see her from around the columns. He was too busy looking down as he pulled a blanket out of his bag and set it down, planning to sleep there. He didn't hear Sera's footsteps until she was too close. He froze and almost held his breath.

"I am sure it is quite handy. Umm." Mark stopped before he said it, he was about to say he somewhat liked Hosa but that is not something he wanted to say to a guy he literally just met so instead he decided to trust Hosa with something no one knows but him. "My real name is Marcus by the way. But you can call me Mark." He said almost regretting it but some part of him did not regret it at all.

Sera narrowed her eyes, coming to a halt; she was sure she'd heard something from behind one of the pillars. Dropping her voice an octave, and lifting her gun, she said loudly and clearly: "I know you're there. Come out." She actually didn't, but if there was a person there, they wouldn't know that. And if there wasn't anyone there, she'd be the only one to know about it.
"Mark... That's a nice name." Mark seemed to trust him, so Hosa decided he'd trust him in return. "What about your history? I'd tell you mine but it's a rather cliche, 'depressing lonely orphan' storyline. Exept, y'know, I didn't live on the streets or anything." He laughed; he found it easier to deal with stuff like this by laughing it off. Besides, he'd spent enough time being sad about it already.

Serafina stopped in her tracks immediately, her gaze snapping up sharply as her hands instinctively shot down to the daggers at her hips, unsheathing them quickly. But still, she did not move any further, only crouching slightly, narrowing her eyes carefully. She held her breath, her brow furrowed.

She shifted slightly, straightening her back. She slowly sheathed the blades, watching the stranger carefully. "I'm not that dumb." She hissed coolly, "You'd shoot me before I'd have a chance to get close enough to do anything to you." Serafina kept her hands close to her daggers even after sheathing them. The girl quickly started studying the person carefully. (Ah, English. ))

She scowled slightly, "No, I don't need any help. I'm fine." Her voice was cold as she narrowed her eyes, glaring at the stranger. However, she did let herself relax a bit as he lowered his gun slightly. SHe shrugged her shoulders carefully, to adjust the backpack which she carried with her. She pinched her tongue between her teeth, waiting for him to do something next. She prepared herself to react quickly if it came to it, tensing up again.

She let only a small smirk lift the corners of her mouth. "I guess you're right." Her voice was still hard, although a lighter expression faintly fluttered across her face. "But I couldn't take someone else's resources. I'm sure I'll find something else for myself." She crossed her hands over her chest, pinching her cheek between her teeth to distract herself from a headache buzzing around in her head.
(Lmao that's fine)

She grimaced, then let out a calm, yet hesitant response, "Fine-- if you have any water to spare then I'll take it." She rolled her shoulders, shifting where she stood on the dry earth's ground. She was then silent, glaring at him a bit too rudely for someone who was offering up free, valuable resources.

Mark hesitated but decided since Hosa wanted to share, he would share. "Well....I was part of a nice family but they all died from things and I watched it happen...so I didn't exactly enjoy my life at that part but I learned to cope. And finding Mae and Lu helped me cope more since they are...funny thing is my only friends." He said and soon the chicken was done and he handed a leg for Hosa and a bit of thigh for Viola. He also got himself a leg and gave a bit of the same thigh to Mae. Lu was still enjoying her trailmix.

Alexander cursed under his breath, still crouched behind the concrete road barrier and didn't dare stand up into view yet. He hesitated, not sure if it would be better to reveal himself or stay hidden, it really depended on if the girl was going to come looking for him or if she would just pass on. He put his hands on the ground to steady himself so he didn't move and tried to breathe as quietly as he could manage.

Mark smiled thinking of what it would be like having Hosa along side him during this time. "How would you like to wander with me? We both could use a human friend and we could help each other survive." He brought up the good bits about it deciding not to bring up the cons. Nope no cons needed this would be all pros.

Alexander stood up slowly, not knowing she had a gun until he saw it, becoming increasingly more nervous and moving more slowly in case he startled her and she tried to shoot him. He held his hands up and bit as he stood up straight and watched her cautiously. "What do you want?" he muttered.

She quickly stepped forward to take it, and immediately drank a little bit-- although she still did not dare drink it all. Her gaze dropped to the ground as she shifted uncomfortably, "Thank you." She looked back up at him again, before asking, "What's your name?" Her brow furrowed slightly as she shrugged a shoulder to adjust the strap of the backpack again.

Hosa hesitated; he'd felt he'd been perfectly fine with just himself and Viola. But then again, someone to talk to that would actually reply would be nice, and it would be double the security when resting... "If you're sure... Okay." He currently couldn't think of any serious cons of the partnership, and hoped to never find any.
Sera glanced around in case a group of mercenaries jumped out at her, but after none did, relaxed. Or at least a little bit. She looked down at the man, debating whether she'd actually needed anything or had just done this out of curiosity. "What's your name?" She asked sternly, then realizing the harshness of her tone, relaxed her body slightly, hoping he'd realize she wasn't a huge threat.
Stephen rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly; he'd never told anyone his real name, not even Sera knew, so he decided he'd give this girl his nickname, and possibly reveal his real one if they ever got closer. "It's obviously not my name, but call me Hawk."

She smirked lightly, immediately starting to feel a bit better after letting the water sweep down her throat. "Ah-- uh..." Serafina hesitated. Should she tell this stranger her name? She'd probably end up running off before they could get any closer, so they'd most likely never really meet again, and he had given up valuable resources to her. "Serafina." She said quickly, shifting uncomfortably.
