It recently dumped snow here, so all the outdoor chores I was planning on doing today aren't gonna happen. As such, I thought it would be nice to start a new rp. I was hoping to either do a FxF romance, or a MxM romance. If you are not comfortable with that perhaps you should looke elseware. All I ask is that you are semi-active. I tend to match my partner when it comes to both being active and my replies. So as long as there are no one line replies I'm happy.
A couple notes: I'm 18+, though you don't have to be unless the rp is a little bit more mature. And I am taking classes so during the week I'll be a bit less active. I also like to draw our characters sometimes and want to make sure it's fine with you.

our last rp didn't last very long but I'd be happy to give it another shot if you'd have me? perhaps with a new plot and some new characters, just start completely over?

I'd actually like that a lot ^^ I have decided to be more active in all things in my life, including the forums.

great ^^ I'm trying to maintain some consistency as well so hopefully that holds up for the both of us!
did you have any idea for what you wanted to do already?

Yeah! Well I was hoping to maybe do something more modern. Like a floweshop owner and gang member, or things along those lines. So probably not anything too supernatural. I suppose it would depend if you wanted to do a MxM or FXF. Any preferences? I'd be up for either.

I'm always up for something modern and fun! and I'm indecicive as ever, so I'm also alright with both? fxf is always fun? but so is mxm? I'm leaning slightly towards the former but I'm open to either if you feel more like mxm

I'm good with that! So do you think we should do a more school based rp, like high school, or more college age?
|
|
|
Post by 𝘨𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘶𝘯 on Jan 20, 2018 17:10:34 GMT -5
I'm fine with either tbh high school is tempting, but it's been a while since I did anything with people in that age range so I might be a little rusty with the setting and such

Let's do that then :3 you can get back into practice haha. So, now that we have the setting, what do you think for a plot? I was thinking we could do it more romance than anything, but also have some sort of action involved. Would you prefer it be more normal, or more magical?
|
|
|
Post by 𝘨𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘶𝘯 on Jan 20, 2018 17:21:13 GMT -5
true haha. god knows I probably need it lol
I've always found it easiest to keep things moving with some sort of bigger plot in the background, whether that be magical or not. something that's always been helpful for me at least is just leaving the door for magic open? like, starting with something focused more on the day to day and then lean on it when we need it? we could also settle on something a little less fantastical of course, it doesn't necessarily have to be something magical, you know? just some external driving force to set the internal in motion.
am I even making a little sense right now?

Yes yes! I can agree with you on that. Without a bigger story to follow we'll get no where. Now, we could go for a more fantastical route, or something else, like you said. It just needs to move the story along. We could have them be part of some mystery, or maybe they could be junior high enemies that gradually become friends? Honestly my mind is only supplying me with cliche idea haha. We could also do something along the lines of one of them is a foreign exchange student or they are students of different schools who are rivals. I'm just throwing ideas out so feel free to shoot them all down.

some clichés are cliché for a reason haha
rivals to friends to lovers is one of my favourite trope ngl so I'm always up for something like that? but mysteries are my weakest point, I love seeing characters solving problems (and probably making more along the way) without knowing any of what's actually going on haha honestly, there's just so many options. it might help quite a bit if we do want to involve the supernatural or not? limit ourselves a little?

Ohhhh we think alike! I adore enemies to friends to lovers! Hmmm we could maybe have them be rivals but when something happens at the school they are forced to work together to figure it out? There could solve a murder from a long time ago or something. Like, there could be a ghost if we wanted to incorporate that to. I could see them getting all competitive and stumbling upon somethin that led them to investigating the murder?

ooo yes nice some sort of old town mystery. just turning a murder long past into a competition, as you do. I'd be up to work with that, for sure c:

Ok :3 If you're fine with that then we can build on it! The murder should probably have something to do with the school. Maybe a student that was having an affair with the teacher and the teacher silenced them when they wanted to come clean. Or it could be a murder between schools, if we wanted them to be from different schools. Honestly all of the ideas seem a bit extreme, but that could make the rp a lot more fun.

Post by 𝘨𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘶𝘯 on Jan 20, 2018 18:03:57 GMT -5
honestly, we should just go all out with this thing haha. the very concept is pretty extreme. we could try and tone it down if we wanted to keep this thing grounded, but I'm just as okay with it just going completely off the rails lol
I think keeping them at the same school might be easiest? what do you think?
|
|
|
Post by 𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 on Jan 20, 2018 18:06:04 GMT -5
We might as well go all out! And yeah, they probably should. If we wanted them to have the school rivalry one character could come from the other school since their parents moved. Of course, they could just be salty about each other and be in the same school haha.
|
|
|
Post by 𝘨𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘶𝘯 on Jan 20, 2018 18:15:17 GMT -5
that's true there's a lot of reasons they could be salty about something. something that happened in like, 3rd grade, previous schools, even just some sort of baseless thing that started at some point and nobody knows why anymore. sky's the limit tbh

True, I personally still hold a grudge from when I was in like fifth grade haha. We can figure that out later, for now do you want to figure out the mystery before hand or add onto it as we rp?

Post by 𝘨𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘶𝘯 on Jan 20, 2018 18:21:26 GMT -5
it might be good to just have some sort of basic idea of what went down? when did it happen, who was involved, why did it happen, and then we can piece the details together as we go?

Post by 𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 on Jan 20, 2018 18:25:47 GMT -5
Good idea! We should decide if we want a supernatural presence in it first though. It would probably help us decide how gruesome we wanted the murder to be. I personally have no issues with it either way. What about you?

Post by 𝘨𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘶𝘯 on Jan 20, 2018 18:33:23 GMT -5
me neither. the supernatural might be fun to add in, but idk if it's really necessary? like, would we benefit at all from the addition?

Post by 𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 on Jan 20, 2018 18:36:09 GMT -5
Hmm honestly I don't think so. We could include creepy happenings like dark rooms, scary stories, myth and stories around the murder and the school, but I don't think having a supernatural entity is needed.

|
|
Post by 𝘨𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘶𝘯 on Jan 20, 2018 18:38:22 GMT -5
I'd agree with you on that. we could always have one of the characters think it's something supernatural bc of rumours or something? so the element is still there it's just used in a different way

Yup! I like that. Let's do it. As for the murder, you have any ideas? I listed a couple above, but there are so many options we could go with.

I like the idea of keeping it in the school (teacher killing a student, student killing another student, etc) just to keep everything centred around something. other than that, I've no real preferences tbh
I do apologise for being totally useless haha I'm too indecisive for my own good

Post by 𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 on Jan 20, 2018 18:47:13 GMT -5
I'm the same way haha. I feel like a teacher would have been able to cover it up a bit better, so maybe a teacher killing a student would work. The motive is a little harder to find though.
|
|
|
Post by 𝘨𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘶𝘯 on Jan 20, 2018 18:55:32 GMT -5
that works, yeah c: as for motive, we could do what you mentioned earlier and have it be the teacher silencing a student? maybe they've stolen from the school/the students or is in a relationship with a student or it could be something entirely different. regardless, the student finds out and confronts them about it?
|
|
|
Post by 𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 on Jan 20, 2018 19:00:50 GMT -5
Ohhh that's a good idea. If the student found out about the teacher stealing from the school maybe the student was a part of a mystery club and they knew how to set up riddles/clues so people later could figure out what happened?? Of course it would be easier to just have them figure it out.
But now that we've gotten that taken care of let's decide how old we want our characters to be. I was thinking that maybe they could be 17 or 18. Just because we don't want any traumatized 15 year olds. Or they could be freshmen. The age probably doesn't matter that much but I thought we should clarify.

I agree that they should be on the older side of things (as old as you can call 18 year old anyway lol) both because it would be a lot easier and because having them be younger would have a huge effect on what they're able to do and figure out
