Tobias frowned deeply, looking up at Tad, concern dancing across his expression. "It won't come to that, sir." He insisted, grinding his jaw as he turned his attention back to his surroundings.
That sent James into a fit of uncontrollable laughter. "Oh, you poor soul!" He cackled, "You think scars prove how brave and strong you are?" He let out another laugh, "You fool." He stepped forward, ruby eye sparkling with malice. The wind blew his dark locks away from his eye, exposing the scarred flesh from where it had been torn out. "No, no, no." He continued to advance on Scar, "Scars show where you've been hurt - they show a weak spot." He giggled, "You really want people to know that your own stupidity nearly cost you half your body?" Insanity danced in the rogue's eye, "You stupid Clanner." He purred, standing inches away from the younger man.
Jaggedthorn watched the little exchange between leader and deputy, leaning over to Onyxdemon with a small smirk. “You think they’re talking about how better they are then us?” He teases as he whispers to her. He then shoved his hands in his pockets and nods his head to her as he follows after the other two.
Absidy takes a couple of deep breaths, calming herself and her nerves. Her hand falls off his arm, eyes still fixed on the Monster. “I think it’s good, you tell me.”
Scar remained calm and pulled the small dagger that was hidden inside his coat out gently. He smirked. "Let me guess, you work for Metal Devil and that's why you have that Ideaology, right? He told you that your scars are your weakness? He wants others to feel insecure so they can only but follow him!" He said as he move his arm quickly and made a stab for James' gut.
Tadoda nodded gently in response to Tobias. He continued to keep an eye out for monsters, or humans. "Be careful where you step too. There are rouge and rouge groups out here. Also there are species of monsters that live up here that we never see down in the valley." He warned. "So if you are unsure of something, speak up... And try to stay quiet."
Grinning, James grabbed Ian's wrist, slamming it back against the pillar in an attempt to make him drop the knife. He let out a few 'tsk'. "And I thought we were friends, pretty boy." He chuckled, "There's no need for violence, I have no reason to fight you." James growled, letting Ian's wrist go and backing away, "I'm just here for entertainment."
James huffed, "Touchy touchy." He grumbled, rubbing his chest with a scowl. "You. You were my entertainment and it was so very easy to rile up. You should work on that, pretty boy." The rogue suggested, "I would wink at you, but," he paused motioning towards the bangs that had fallen back over his missing eye, "y'know."
"More likely how terrified Swiftfeet is." she chuckled and nudged him. The younger warrior was entertaining she'd give him that.
Thorn Smiled. "Then take your ax and hit the monster. If you miss and it charges I will take care of it." he said.
Jaggedthorn grins down at her and slings an arm around the older warriors shoulders for a brief moment, pulling her in close before dropping his arm. He took Swiftfeet’s cautions rather lightly, just sighing in response. “If he’s so afraid why does he keep coming back?”
Absidy broke her gaze with the Monster and looked at Thornwhip now. She blinks a couple of times before nodding and gripping the handle of her hatchet. After a moment she rises just enough to be able to throw, holding back the ax and exhaling slowly before throwing it. It spins in the hair before hitting the Monster right between its eyes.
James snorted out a laugh, "Real mature, pretty boy." He teased, then raised two fingers to his temple in a mock salute. "See you later, dunderhead." With that, the rogue turned on his heel and sauntered off.
Onyx smrirked. "Because he wants to save that adopted child of his." She whispered back softly. "Hey, love birds, would the two of you knock that off." Swiftfeet snapped looking back at Onyx and Jagged. "If you don't keep your eyes open something bad will happen!" He growled.
THornwhip smiled brightly as the monster fell from it's perch and sent the thrushes scattering. "Very good my dear." He smiled as he stood from their cover in the bush. "Now, go claim your kill." He smiled as he crossed his arms proudly.
Scar growled and sneered as he rubbed his wrist. He put the dagger away and started to walk back down the way he had come. He walked onto the main road and listened. He turned left and followed the way. He stopped by a building and saw a strange monster, one uncommon to the valley the clans lived in. It was large, at least 6 feet tall and was oddly cat like in structure, but it had two tails with large toothed fans on the ends. It's double jointed jaw was crunching up the remains of what must have been a person. He hid and watched out from his hiding place at the large, leather skinned beast. Toothtail... Scar thought. Six foot range on the tail alone, pouncing distance of 12 - 17 feet. Four retractable claws on each paw plus the slashing claws on the inner parts of the paws. Two large fangs. Average speed of 35 miles... He analysed the beast from the personal notes he had taken.
“We just can’t look away from this little love fest.” Jaggedthorn continues the taunt before giving a chuckle, waving his hand. “Yeah, yeah. We’ll keep our eyes open, just look out for your Warrior. He’s the reason we’re up here right now.”
Absidy beamed at her mentor and nods quickly, pretty excited about the kill as well. She jumps out from behind the bush, putting her foot on the top of the motionless Monsters head, trying to pry her ax out of it.
Tad stopped in his tracks and turned on them. "I did not want you all to come with." he snarrled. "All you had to do was inform me you saw Stoneheart climbing the ridge and then left! All would have been fine, but no you insist on coming along!" He snapped. "Technically forcefully interfering with the issues of another clan is considered a deceleration of war. Had I been any other leader from any time period, any clan they would have treated it as such and upon leaving their clan had a mission set up to destroy your clan since your Leader and Deputy are gone and have left it without guidance. They would have marched up to the boarder taken over your camp, claimed your people and lead you into a trap up here to kill you off!" Tadoda snapped as he towered over the two of him. The normally calm gray eyes where alight with a hateful fire. "Or they would have injured you when you had your guard down, and left you to be mauled by the monsters or slaughtered by the rouges. And thats not the only thing the rouges may do!" He snarrled. Onyx who was one who was never scared took a tiny step back. She placed her hand on her weapon, ready to draw at any second. Tadoda stopped and took a deep breath huffing the air out. "Be glad I am a kind leader who cares for the life of others. One who shows emotion unlike the rest of you heathens!"
The bushes in front of her rustled gently as she moved to the smaller monster. Thornwhip waited for her back by the other bushes.
Jaggedthorn tensed as the other leader approached them, his face turning stoney as Tad yelled and scolded them. His brows furrow and he notices the movement Onyxdemon takes towards her weapon, to which he reaches out and puts a calming hand on her shoulder. Max takes a moment to look at her, to check on her to make sure she’s okay before he turns back to Swiftfeet. He was done with people talking down to him when his dad died, was done with letting people think they were smarter than him. So, Max squares up to Swiftfeet, and eerily neutral look on his face. “Don’t you ever speak to us like that, ever. Do you think we’re dumb? I’m sure that’s exactly what Primalstrike thought when we all agreed to tag along. Yeah, we could’ve just sent you out to the monster-ridden ruined to find your no good kid, but here we are risking our own necks. If this was a declaration of war, trust me, you’d know. But no. Fortunately for you two, it’s not. You could’ve sent anyone else out with you, could’ve brought your own patrol, but you didn’t. So, really it’s a good thing you’ve got the deputy, leader, and senior warrior of Hollowclan.” He says back to Tad, his face flushing just a bit from frustration as he tries not to let his frustrations take over him. Then, Max grins so sickly sweet it hurts his cheeks. “Be glad we’re a kind enough group who care for the life of others. Who also show emotions, like you heathens.” He spits Swiftfeet’s words back at him. Inhaling through his nose, Jaggedthorn wraps his arm around Onyxdemon again, leading her around Swiftfeet as he presses on into the ruins, towards the smoke stack. “Let’s stop bullshitting around and find what you’re looking for.”
Absidy glances up quickly as she hears the rustling, eyes narrowing a bit, but her hatchet comes loose which causes her to stumble back a bit. She takes one more glance at the bushes before turning around and heading back to Thornwhip, a smile on her face.
Tobias let out a weary sigh, stepping forward, always the peacekeeper, "Everyone needs to calm down." He said simply, "Swiftfeet, sir, their deputy isn't wrong. I'm sure they knew exactly what danger they were putting themselves in, and they still offered to assist us." He turned to Max, "However, we would both greatly appreciate it if you toned down on the joking, please." His expression was gentle, "This place is very unpleasant and is obviously getting under our skin. We need each other, or we'll get killed in an instant."
(It took me a moment to realize you were talking to me, lol Just call me Rainy c: ! and sure? but i don’t think i 100% know exactly what you mean ^^ i also might crash soon - and by crash i mean get sucked into playing Fire Emblem on my DS)
Tad took a deep breath and turned away. He started to chuckle that turned into full on laughter. "You're right punk, we are all heathens, at least that is what my no good son would call us." He said as his expression turned gentle once again. "Come on, we need to find him before it gets too late. Tonight is the full moon so we will want to make sure we are back in time to gather for the meeting. Also monsters become more active in the night." He warned as he lead the group once again farther into the ruined city. "Watch for falling metal as well." he warned. As they walked forward a scream pierced the air. Tad grabbed the group and pulled them into an alley way. The ground started to shake and rumble. He pressed the group into the alley way and against the wall so they could be seen less. The rumbling grew closer as a massive monster walked down what was once the main roar. From it's mouth hung an arm and a leg of a person. With six massive legs it started to walk on by the alley. Tad crouched and slinked a little closer to the edge of the alley. He narrowed his eyes at the leg and arm. As he shifted the monster stopped and turned to look at him. He crouched face to face with the monster that towered over him. He stayed still as the 6 eyes blinked trying to watch for movement.
Thorn smiled brightly. "Perfect, now I'm gonna teach you how to skin and dress an kill in case you ever get lost somewhere and start to run out of food." He told her as he left the bushes to pick up the small monster.
It's bigger than most Toothtails... He thought to himself. Better go around to the hide out. Don't want to get caught by those teeth. He said as he slipped into the alley way and started to climb up the building.
Jaggedthorn just sort of ignored Swiftfeet, but held back now as he waited for him to lead again. He dropped his arm from around Onyxdemon, hands back in his pockets again as he walked. Pretty soon his mind started to drift off, not paying so much attention anymore as he planned out the rest of the day in his head, mostly thinking about the gathering when it was mentioned. Then the sight of the uncommon monster caught his gaze and he froze, his heart dropping into his stomach. What in the hell was that? He saw as it locked eyes with Tad, and Max tensed but stayed still as well, despite being out of sight range of the beast.
Absidy nodded and followed her mentor, standing back though as he picked up the monster. “Do Monsters taste good?” She asked curiously, not realizing they could eat them.
Tad stayed utterly still as the beast looked down at him. He swallowed trying to keep his composure and trying to keep the smell of fear off his body. Just don't move and it wont't attack... stay still don't move... He thought to himself as he became quiet. The monster leaned closer and took a large inhale. It opened it's mouth and the severed leg and arm fell out as is hissed softly at Tad. A second screech echoed through the air and the monster pulled it's head back swiftly and turned its attention back out to the main road. It gave out a loud ear piercing roar. Tad covered his ears and rolled back to where he couldn't be seen.
"Most of the smaller monsters taste fine, some of the larger ones don't taste as good. But a good Chef can make anything taste good!" he smiled.
Max was swearing up a storm in his head, then the monster screeched and he’s quick to cover his ears, grunting as he watched Swiftfeet roll away. He reaches out and grabs the man, pulling him over to where he himself was hiding. Jaggedthorn looks at the Stormclan leader with wide eyes.
Absidy chuckles and nods, standing near Thornwhip. “But if I’m by myself I won’t have a Chef to make my food delicious.” She says, her hands on her hips.
