my apologies, got caught up in some things.
@ spookyfish: okay, that sounds good to me!
@ whispering moons: hmm, i have a few basic ideas, but nothing concrete! mostly it's just the general genre, aha. {{ Sorry for my spotty activity. Anyway, that's totally fine! We could do a little brainstorming, see what we come up with.
Maybe it could revolve around two criminals planning something big? Or a criminal and a detective/police officer. }}

@ 7744: that sounds like an interesting thing but how does it work 0:
@ whispering moons: haha, it's fine. i totally understand. hm, i think the first idea would be very short-lived, ngl. the second idea, hnn. you don't need to have watched it, but i like the concept of blacklist - essentially, a highly wanted criminal turns themselves in to the fbi, and they have a "blacklist" of criminals that they a) want to kill/incarcerate, b) want to hire, or c) just want to talk to. admittedly, in the show the criminal turns himself in and refuses to speak to anyone but a certain person (bc of her relation to him, despite the fact she doesnt know it), but it could be worked around to deal with certain situations.
i should warn you, though, in criminal & law enforcement roleplays, i'd rather play the criminal d: i often get shoved to the law enforcement side and i run down on muse very quickly.

ohh that sounds so nice...and they already've done riding pokemon, why not have pokemon thatll float with you or you ride but at a regular pace or walk with you or.... cries mAN i wanted breath of the wild so badly but the switch is hella expensive & i never got a wii u
i feel like the trial captains just...they dont care too much abt the trainers challenging the area?? theyre just like "lol u cant leave til you're done, are u sure you're ready" and raise an eyebrow if your pokemon dies out of region trainers prob have their team wiped out on the first challenge bc its more brutal than expected and the trial captain just goes "too bad. shouldve trained more" with No Sympathy
& where should we be on the journey?? id bet that it doesnt really matter what order you do the islands in if it was realistic, but there's a recommended start point o; perhaps they're somewhere in ula'ula island? or akala island? i really like those two islands haha ...i also gotta get a team for my boy r i p he looks soft but don't let his looks fool you, hes not a bleeding heart
gym leaders are just. they think of alolans as the bane of their existence the only hard one for any alolans to beat first try as a first gym is falkner because he's a cheater but falkner cries more when he loses so
my gal toys with my emotions, i always cry bc of her

right!! i really want pokemon to expand a little more, and ngl, even though some people disliked alola for the lack of gyms, i adored it. the trials were a fun change and honestly, they felt more challenging, if that makes sense? because the ai is...it's kind of randomised, really, and it felt like it started to get smarter. god, lurantis was the bane of my existence even with my baby growlithe. it straight up went ham. ahh breath of the wild is so fun. i have a wii u, but i want a switch ): my bf has a switch tho and im moving w him sO L U L, but...give me my switch 2k17/18/whenever it's cheaper.
honestly!! the trial captains are merciless. maybe the water one - what was her name? lana? maybe she's a little kinder. I LIKE TO THINK THAT KAHUNA OLIVIA WOULD BE KINDER, TOO, NGL. but still, they let their pokemon go hard, because that's what they're best at.
hmm, that's a good question. i like akala island a lot! so maybe there? hehe, yeah. definitely a recommended starting point, but maybe mildly like gyms, they "release" a weaker totem pokemon if your pokemon are weaker, and a stronger one if yours are stronger. they're tiered and, lbr, the totem pokemon are released from cages. that's how they appear on time. they're probably completely wild pokemon who only speak in pokemon and are treated similarly to how we treat animals in our world. haha, i have a general idea of my team. still not sure whether i want them from sinnoh or from johto - probably sinnoh. i was just wondering if he could've been a former elite or champion from sinnoh? 0: it would be interesting for a highly-ranked trainer to start afresh in alola, maybe after a huge accident in sinnoh >:3 do you want me to make the thread, btw? bc i can do that ^^
ABSOLUTELY!! falkner tries his best, and he's probably the harshest when it comes to people actually killing his pokemon.
mine often shreds my hands but right now shes curled up on my duvet 10/10 best kitty

Oooh, that sounds pretty interesting. I've heard of the Blacklist, unfortunately I haven't watched much of it, but I can understand the basic plot.
Aw, it's no fun getting shoved into roles you don't want. :c Fortunately, I have no problems playing an officer or detective. I have a character I absolutely love who works in law enforcement and I think he would be awesome in a crime roleplay, as well as other characters who might fit.
So, do you want to go over any other ideas you might have? Not sure if you'd be interested, but I did have a vague idea about someone, who's a wannabe scientist, getting dragged into a world of crime after seeing something they shouldn't have.
I just like to list all of the ideas we can think of so both of us have more options. C:

haha, i'm nearly caught up despite starting to watch it maybe...a week ago? i'm not quite sure. maybe two weeks if i'm pushing it. it's such an amazing show and i cry to my friend about it constantly
ahh i'm glad (': i'm very glad you understand and don't mind? that really does mean a lot to me! i don't mind law enforcement as side characters (and hell knows we'll need them), but my main muse would definitely be a criminal ^^ i'd probably use my main oc, since i dont get to use him very often outside of roleplays with a close friend.
ooh, that does sound interesting 0: i also like the idea of someone entirely normal deciding they want to turn to crime after seeing professionals do it; possibly they're a witness, and instead of testifying to bring these people down, they decide they want to work with the people who worked on the mission they witnessed, since it was quick and efficient.
ahh, i get that ^^ sometimes it's just nice to know there are other things, and in the case of not being able to choose, this genre is fun because they can often all be mixed up.

alola was so fun!! it was so new in a way that xy couldn't have ever been. the gym format's so stale now, even with a good story- alola was a brilliant refresher that i loved and all of the new pokemon are my precious children,,,, i was so sad that i didnt use lurantis on my first playthough bc i didnt like having two of the same kind on my team so i made sure to get one on my second playthrough
the first one's super petty and laughs when you lose your pokemon the fire one is solemn all of the others are just. shrugs. AND YES SHED BE KIND SHE LOOKS LIKE A GOOD MOTHER FIGURE WHO WOULD HUG EVERYONE WHO LOOKS REMOTELY SAD,,, she def cries after she loses a pokemon in a fight but. alone in her home. the rest of her pokemon are )":
maybe the stretch between the fire and grass trials?? or after the grass trial?? that's a nice middle point & they can be recovering from a trial or something & they could meet bc of a rly bad storm forcing them into a spot or just...on the road
the trial captains are tasked with capturing the totem pokemon needed for the trials as well as overseeing the trials themselves, prob
hmm, a champion would be cool?? lots of experience, lots of getting close to their pokemon & there was prob a natural disaster there idk so they started anew and meet this one person a ways through and it's just like...how do u all live with yourselves, you don't care when your friends die?? or when another trainer's pokemon die??????
& sure o; we can develop it a bit more + do chars there and whitney!! she HATES alolans so much bc they dont even look sorry after hurting / killing her pokemon
sugar....when will u appear....i just want to cuddle u

alola was refreshing, as game freak intended it to be! it opens up so many different pathways that it's honestly amazing. i finished my playthrough of moon back when sunmo was first released (i preordered the sunmo 3ds xl + both games), and i still haven't completely sun, aha. honestly, it was really fun - and even when im done, there's more to explore!! i havent even fully explored alola yet? i keep finding areas i havent properly checked through or areas i missed.
they're all the embodiment of shrug emoji in the end. ESPECIALLY MALLOW. she knows her lurantis squad are awful and stupid strong, and she doesn't care. if she wins, then it's fine. olivia makes me warm and happy and im 100% in love with her
ooh, after the grass trial would be interesting. hmm...maybe there's an abandoned little cottage near lush jungle, and they're forced there bc of the storm? (':
yeah!! definitely.
ayy yeah!! i was thinking that maybe they didn't lose their position, hell. there's an interim there for them. but they need time to recover, they've probably lost their number one pokemon, i think. their partner - not their starter (the character i had in mind lost his), but their closest pokemon. that would be a death that would force him into going somewhere else to recover for some time, thus putting in an interim champion. he's not gonna be vocal about it! but he's definitely silently judging. he understands accidental deaths, but he hates the deaths caused on purpose and hates that he has to kill other pokemon to win, but he...he's also in too deep, really. he wants to see how this goes, wants to progress.
yeah!! i'll get that up and we can continue talking there, give me some moments. i'm probably gonna write up my character, too ^^ oh definitely yes

It sounds like a great show! I think I might have seen a couple commercials or advertisements for it before. I'll probably check it out.
Of course I don't mind! I love having a wide variety of characters; also, I love throwing in side characters a lot. I like to have other characters interacting with the main ones. Law enforcement characters are a lot of fun to write about, too. C:
I love the idea of someone deciding they want to become a criminal after witnessing a crime/mission and loving how the criminals worked so well together. Maybe they were a college student, just your average guy going into an average field of study. They're walking home late one night, decide to take a shortcut and stumble onto a small band of criminals doing their usual business. He could get attacked by them and, after dealing with the police and thinking about it, decide to find them and try to join?
Or maybe they try to kill him and, thinking he's dead when he's not, leave him there? The criminal(s) could realize he lives and recruit him without giving him a choice, because he was able to survive.
And yeah! That's what I love about the crime genre. There are so many different things you can put into it or combine.

i got sun and moon a few months after release bc i didnt have the money at first but. it was so fun to play. my first team was my pride and joy,,, i loved them so much,,, and my second was great too!! moonbat's better than sunbeast though
tbh or a cave,,, i feel like nobody can really settle near the trial sites either bc of some law or bc the wild pokemon are even more agressive around there?? so either a house is broken down and pokemon live there or you just keep a watch out at night
aww that makes me sad,,, it prob hit him so hard... everyone's so sorry for him but he just has to get away from it all
all of the pokemon are prob different from what he expected, too? they act so different compared to those in his home region that it was a huge adjustment at first and i wouldnt doubt that it still feels wrong to him.
hmm...what to do for his team...i'll just put that on the page when its made

@ whisper: it really is!! i do encourage checking it out, whenever you have the time ^^
yeah!! i like interacting with my own main character too, makes for more substance and, dare i say it? exposition. i love me some wonderful backstories that no character really knows but it's just there to appease the rpers, yknow? it's my addiction and part of why my posts often end up long nowadays, luls.
ooh that would be interesting - the killing thing. to make it cleaner, though (since they're professionals), it's more likely that their cleaner realises that the person's not dead - thus they contact the criminals + they're like "hey u know this kid isnt dead right" so the gang is like "well then" and they give the kid choices; leave and die, or stay and live? of course, the kid would have to learn quickly, since they'd have to be an asset to the criminals to actually be allowed to survive ^^
yeah, the crime genre is honestly my favourite!
@ aves: moonbat is the best (and also the name of my moonbat, hehe). i don't mind sunbeast, but...hmmm. i dont know, game freak seems to hate quadruped pokemon? give me my cute puppies and kitties that i deserve, vulpix/growlithe/eeveelutions/rockruff aren't enough to sate me!! let me in!!
ohh! a cave is a much btter idea, ngl.
haha yeah, he's a tired dude.
oh yeah, he's adjusting. he's imported a sinnoh pokemon, though d: ended up w an alolan starter anyway, but had his own starter, gifted to him as a going-away present (and also "sorry for your loss" sort of deal).
yee!! the page is here; wcrpforums.com/thread/46200/aves-revali

Same! I love a great, detailed backstory and a lot of character interaction. My posts have been pretty long lately, too, just because I've been getting super into the plot and characters. I've been loving going into a lot of depth and detail. C:
Ooo, that could work really well; yeah, it would make more sense if it went more like that, since they are professionals and all. I'm really liking the sound of this idea--I'm already super excited. It could also be that the average guy is going to college in a big, not so great city, and is rather unfamiliar with the area and its kind of crime.
If we did go with this idea, I have a great character to fit the role of the unfortunate college guy. He's super smart and really nerdy, but not much of a fighter.

@ nanashi: oh!! i like that idea a lot, actually ^^ having those elements mixed (maybe its a mix of victorian and modern names?) would be super interesting, definitely.
@ whisper: i really enjoy detailed, lengthy posts as a whole - i'll admit that sometimes i lack in posts, but hey! sometimes that's needed to move the plot along, yknow? no need to worry over having 1k+ posts if you want to move the plot along, but if it's in a situation where you can do it...mmmmm i love it ngl
yeah!! you can choose the city, if you want ^^ i don't mind, a mix of improvisation (bc we all know crime shows aren't realistic and make up places in existing cities to make things interesting) and research means i'll be able to deal, nbd.
i like this idea a lot and i'm down to do it!! i'm probably gonna use my main oc uvu would you like me to make us a thread?

Yeah, of course! Sometimes shorter posts are definitely needed to keep things going. I usually try to match post length, but I just naturally tend to get a little wordy.
I was thinking maybe Los Angeles, but kind of a more fictional version of it. Just so that it would be easier for us to work with and we can throw in whatever we want.
Sure! That'd be great, if you wouldn't mind. C:
