OOC So I've been working on a possible new, warriors based comic to work on in between Team Watermelon. (Which I still need to work on.) And here is the possible main character! Lime Pad! Feel free to come and ask questions and talk and stuff.

OOC That's paint. In her "clan" they paint marking on themselves. Her's is a lily pad marking right now because she's still a "Pad" so basically, their version of an apprentice.

OOC Yeah, the cats there wear paint all the time, but then add more of it on more special events. It's all very symbolic for them and stuff. I've given it all a lot of thought...too much thought, probably.

There's no such thing has putting too much thought into something. Go nuts!
Going down that line of thought, what are some other ways that your cats diverge from our traditional Clan cats, besides symbolic body paint? And, why is the body paint important?

OOC Well for starters, they have a ton of different traditions, the most notable ones are the naming/ranking traditions, the courting tradition, and the birth and death traditions. However there's also some other traditions of theirs that's different from a common clan.
Then we have their names.
The names are a mix of ancient and warrior names.
For instance, leaders are something like: [Prefix] Star.
Then healers also have special names. Like: [Prefix] Moon.
They also have guards and hunters, much like the tribe of rushing water. They don't have special names though. Guards, queens, elders, and hunters just have the simple [Prefix] [Suffix] thing like ancient cats did.
However cats in training are called Pads instead of apprentices and as such will be called something like: [Prefix] Pad. Then kits are stems, so they're [Prefix] Stem.
Along with this, you can call a cat by their first name if you are close with them. If you aren't, it's respectful to call them by their full name.

Now as for the body paint. It's important to them because it comes from the land, it's a symbol of how they found their way here, and despite all odds, survived, thrived even. It's also important because it will signify the importance of the ranks and names. They also believe that the paint keeps them closer to their ancestors. So that's why they wear the paint. During special events and ceremonies, they'll add more paint too, instead of just the one marking, they'll add another, special marking, in two more places.

The Tribe cats split their warriors primarily due to the inhospitable mountain environment. Due to the complete lack of coverage in the mountains, the hunters had to be skilled and dedicated, which in turn necessitated a fighting cat to watch their backs while the hunters utilized their camouflage techniques (or at least I think that was how it went ;p)
Any particular reason why your cats took after the Tribe in this regard?
Also, do you have any particular ceremonies ironed out yet? Besides the usual rites of ascension, of course.

OOC They do it here because it seemed more logical to them. They live on an island, which may sound nice and all, but for them, there's more predators than pray. The hunters need to stay focused on hunting, especially when it's hard enough to find food as it is. Meanwhile the guards patrol the territory and defend the camp, in case they run into any unwanted trespassers, like large snakes, or something even worse.
I have a few, but none of them are finalized just yet.

I have a feeling this either playing to or from the island cat roleplay you were planning in another thread of yours.
Are things from that roleplay possibly going to influence this story? :3

OOC Actually, the two aren't related. However I may use some of the stuff from the roleplay for this or vice versa.
