I've been watching UFO shows a lot lately, and want to know what everyone else thinks! Personally, I think we're not alone in the universe. I added two clear yes or no answers and three answers for skeptics (1st one is skeptic but leaning more towards believing, 2nd one skeptic but leaning more to not believing, and the last one is neutral skeptics)

OOC I believe in them. I doubt they're scaly green men or anything. But there's no possible way we could be alone in the universe.

The universe is way too vast and whatever for somebody to be so close-minded to think that Earth is the only planet with life

I believe there might be a few insects or small animals or something but I don't believe in actual evolved civilizations

for sure. the probability of no life having evolved anywhere in our massive universe if so astronomically small. civilisations? idk. in our solar system? nah. life in space? definitely.

Same, I don't think they would be like anything we could ever imagine, you know? That's also a good point, with how big the universe is, it's very unlikely we're alone.

I do, too, tbh. I feel like they look similar to us, but certain parts of their body are elongated and/or exaggerated.

It's likely that there is other life out there, even if it's just cells or plants of some sort. But I won't say I believe in alien life or not, because each way is possible.

there's no way there's not other life out there
however, they prob look nothing like the typical alien portrayed in the media

i dont understand how people can NOT believe in aliens....do you know the odds of humans being the only intelligent life in the entirety of existence!? with the vastness of this universe being SO MASSIVE THAT OUR MINDS CAN'T FULLY COMPREHEND, there is no way we're the only intelligent life to have evolved.

The universe is so large and so dynamic, there’s no way there’s nothing else out there. Heck, they could be non carbon-based life forms, since biology is probably completely different in other worlds.
Even if these organisms are microscopic, unicellular beings, they’re still alive. And so I’d say that they probably exist.

"Two possibilities exist: either we are alone in the Universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying." - Arthur C. Clarke
The universe is too big to comprehend, and we've only observed a small portion of it. The universe is much too large to not be home to some other intelligent life.
Maybe, like us, they're asking the same question. If we haven't found aliens, chances are aliens haven't found us either.

Yeah whenever I think about aliens I think about that quote because it's true. We're either alone or we're not. Being alone in such a vast universe would be terrifying. I personally believe that we're not alone. Which is also scary.

Just going to leave this here...
media.mivu.org/mivhs/astro/1billion.html
....and also point out that this page needs to be repeated 300 times in order to have the amount of stars in our galaxy alone. Each of those dots most likely has at least one planet around it, but most likely more than one. That means there are more planets than stars in the milky way galaxy, and each has a chance to be capable of supporting life. Life does exist, it is statistically impossible that it doesn't. Literally impossible, because even if the chance for life to occur was 0.0000000000000000000000000000000001%, our universe is infinite in distance and infinite in time so any chance, no matter how small, will eventually occur.

I remember seeing an article a while back that confirmed some microorganism somewhere. Not sentient--still technically alien. So yeah.

i don't really know how to answer the poll because "aliens" is really broad. Like i believe life from another planet is entirely possible, but i don't know if i believe the type of aliens that are in shows/theorized about are real, aka the ones that have amazing spaceships and whatnot. like bacteria sure, entire other humanoid beings? idk, probably not.

i think they're out there...i want to believe lol im torn between "they're probably nothing like lifeforms on earth" and thinking about HOW COOL IT WOULD BE if there was like. convergent evolution of similar traits though, because certain traits or body forms are so efficient/conducive to survival and reproduction that they could evolve independently in entirely separate biospheres I can totally relate lol I keep going back and forth on how I think aliens look like

i think it's very possible (more likely than not) that there is life elsewhere in this universe. however, i doubt we'd ever have contact with these "aliens", and vice versa.
