Okay so I have to have a blood test soon, nothing serious just trying to get to the bottom of something.
Personally I hate them, I hate the initial needle oviously and I hate the sound of the blood going into the vial. I have had one or two tests through out my life so far. I dont think anyone likes them.
I'm curiois to see how many people have had one? You dont have to say why obviously as that's personal. Just share ypu experiences and how you felt having to get one.

Everytime I go to the doctor I have to have one done. I hate it, because it hurts.

I've had it done multiple times, I actually like it for some weird reason.

I have an autoimmune disorder, and thus need routine blood tests done. Last time, they took 16 of those vials to run a ton of extra tests to determine whether or not it was safe to put me on birth control and take me off of the medication that saved my life.
And then the lab decided to only do half of the tests, so when I went in for my appointment the next day, the doctor couldn't tell me anything because she didn't have the information she needed.
Then I had to go back and get 8 more of those vials taken.
But what I want to know is what they did with my blood the first time. They had more than enough for all the tests, so why didn't they do half of them?
Sorry I got a bit ranty there.
But I've gotten blood drawn and had IVs put in so many times that it doesn't scare me. Needles never scared me in the first place. I don't like blood draws, but I'm fine with them.

I get my blood drawn pretty much any time I'm sick
usually it turns out to be nothing (or at least nothing in my blood??? sometimes I'm definitely sick and just never get an answer) but when I get even minor things I tend to stay sick for a long time and my mom gets worried after about two weeks every time

I've gotten bloodwork a few times. Once when I was anemic and they were making sure I actually was. And then I got one before I started t to make sure that nothing was wrong before I started. And I got one 6 weeks or so in to check my t levels and e levels as well as monitor my liver, cholesterol, and some other stuff.

BleakI don't think its the needle bothers me. I always tend to tense up in anticipation though. I try not to but I still tend to. Thank you for the tips.

@twisterheart That must suck! ~●ℓєgσℓαѕ●~Wow Lucky @cyll That sounds terrible. Ranting is fine, looks like you needed to rant too. RosaYep I hate waiting, I get the shakes and my heart pounds. tiger beetleSounds horrible. Depends on your immune system sometimes. Here in Australia there has been a rather nasty flu strain going around. My dad is gettingbover a nasty case of it. I tend to get knocked over by the stupid tummy bug. Because I have something similar to IBS when I get the bug It ussually floors me and it takes me another week for everything to recover. I hope everything works out for you.

I have had many blood tests done over the course of my life. They usually don’t bother me.
Recently, though, I had a ... let’s just say traumatic experience with needles and an IV. Ever since that happened, I can barely even face the prospect of getting a blood test, and I find the idea a lot more terrifying.
Which is an inconvenience, because I actually need to get a blood test really soon.

I've had to get plenty. several times a week for a few months back when nobody knew what was wrong with me. I have scar tissue on the veins in both my arms now because it happened so often in such a short period of time so every time I get blood drawn now the nurses comment on how difficult it was to get the needle in cx on the bright side, I can't feel it much, or at all, really, anymore
IVs are a different story though. they don't hurt going in but once the needle's out it's so horribly uncomfortable. I hate getting them put in.

i've had several.
i don't really mind them, they're less painful than even the flu shot imo (and the flu shot isn't even painful).

the only problem with blood tests is when they can't find your veins edit: once when i was in the hospital they had to have a blood test or like a needle or smt i dont really remember, but i already had an iv in my arm and they couldn't find a vein in the other one. they tried in my hand, foot, ankle etc.) to this day im convinced that they screwed up my hand bc one of my tendons is always being weird.
and for some people with blood tests when they can't find their veins, they just kind of dig around your arm and it seems awful
