So, about a year ago I started a clan called Oasisclan but it died out fast due to unforeseen life struggles (shocker .) I recently started thinking about this clan again and still love the uniqueness of it, and I was hoping that you would, too.
The clan had originally been created by groups of abandoned/dumped kitty-pets who were left for dead in the barren landscape. They stumbled upon a rare oasis that quickly became their saving grace, and their home.
This group of cats lived in the desert and due to the harsh environment, had developed interesting hunting techniques. They would bury themselves in sand to stalk prey and hunt for eggs and lizards on rocky outcroppings.
These cats also used crushed berries to create designs on the pelt, always around the head and ears, that showed a cats rank.
Each spring there would be a huge feast to thank their ancestors for the return of the prey and there would also be a ceremony whenever kits were born.
Ranks weren't the traditional warrior, apprentice, etc. They were instead: Chief, Deputy, Healer, Healer-In-Training, Soldier, Cadet, Queens, Kits, Elders.
Season were changed to New-Sands, Scorch-Sands, Cool-Sands, and Storm-Sands to account for the fact that there aren't many leaves in the desert .
Long haired and dark pelted cats would hunt/patrol at night during most seasons, due to the extreme heat during the day. Short haired cats would hunt/patrol during the day.
I am checking for interest, but will probably remake this either way, once my life stabilizes in the coming days. Feel free to add any ideas that you may have! I will also be looking for a Chief and Deputy to lead the clan. I myself do not handle those roles well and will happily turn them over to other active members.

Wonderful! I'm still trying to figure out the logistics of both of the ceremonies.
I'm thinking that during the kitting ceremony, each member of the clan could present the queen and newborn kits with some type of desert flower, to represent new life..? I still haven't decided how to tie the father in yet. If you have any ideas on that, or the other ceremony (I haven't started working on that one yet) let me know!

EDITED.
Kitting Ceremony
The day of the birthing, each clan member will venture out to find a flower and bring it back to camp. Cadets must be accompanied out of camp with a soldier, and fathers must collect enough flowers for themselves, their underage kits, and their mate. After the birth of the kits, during the coming sunset, each clan member will individually enter the nursery, present a desert flower to the queen and her newborn kits, and then gather outside of the den. As the last flower is placed around the mother and children, and a wreath of flora surrounds them, the healer will begin crushing the deep-indigo colored berries outside of the nursery while the Chief calls for silence from the clan. The father will gentle pull each kit, individually, from the mother and carry them outside. During their short period away from their mother, the kit will be marked by the Healer with a single dot on the forehead, to specify their rank and to welcome them into the clan. The Chief then calls out whether it's a tom or she-cat and the name that it has been given by it's parents. The Chief ends the ceremony with a prayer to their ancestors to grant the kits safe passage into adulthood and long lives. "Praise the ancestors for the gift of these _(# of kits)_ new lives. Pray that our clan may flourish and grow stronger with their presence, and that their lives be filled with all the joys a cat should experience, and with few of the sorrows that plague us all. Our clan welcomes _(list out kit names)_ to our ranks. Please, join me in sending their names to the stars!" The clan chants the names while looking into the sky, slowly winding down into silence. The cats disperse.

Clan History
This clan was founded many, many moons ago by several groups of kitty-pets who had been dumped far from the reach of Two-legs. Many of the soft-hearted cats perished in the hunt for a territory to call their own. These cats went through many hardships and went days without food or water. One day, the cats- starved and dehydrated, stumbled across a lush, green area. Full of prey and fresh drinking water, the cats feasted in the rare desert oasis. They refueled themselves, thinking that they would move on from the wonderful place, but they grew attached and realized that this was a perfect home. The cats began searching for the best area to set up camp and traveled up onto a large plateau. There, they found a dried up lakebed, perfect for the start of a clan. Soon, the first set of kits was born and they were given their clan names. Ranks were established and duties were assigned. The clan flourished in their new environment and quickly took over the barren landscape. They battled eagles and coyotes- fed on quail and lizards, they had taken hold of this scorching-ly hot, dry place and they weren't giving it up without a fight.

What if when kits reach five moons of age and are getting ready to be apprentices the father (or a close relative) catches a live mouse (or other rodent) and lets it loose in the nursery

I think I want to leave everything else for the kits pretty normal for now. We could maybe do something unique for the warrior ceremony.

Territory
^ Link Above ^ (will insert later) - The Camp is located in a dried up lakebed that sits on the plateau above the oasis. It is surrounded by moderately green, dense foliage.
- The Oasis is a lush, green stretch of land that is located south of the clan camp, below the plateau. A small waterfall pours out of the rocky side of the plateau and flows into a small stream. The oasis is where prey is plentiful and is the main source of water for the clan.
- The Eagles Nest is a large, dead tree close to the heart of the clan territory. There is a large eagles nest perched in the upper-most branches. It is a dangerous area to patrol because of the ever-looming presence of the large, predatory birds.
- The Coyote Grove is another dangerous area to explore. Coyote grove has a high population of coyote and fox. It is one of the only other sources of water in the clans territory. It is a lush area with dense foliage. The prey here is plentiful but during pupping season, it dwindles due to having to feed the hungry pups.
- The Reflecting Pool is where the clan's Healers and Chief go to speak to their ancestors. It is the final source of water in the territory but the cats tend to refuse to drink from it, but in desperate situations, they will.
- The Sunning Rocks are west of the camp. This area is good for warming up during the cold winter nights and for stargazing. It is also a great place to hunt for eggs and small lizards and geckos.
Camp
^ Link Above ^ (will insert later) - Soldiers den: Located underneath a large bundle of dried foliage and brush. The ground has been worn away from many moons of pawsteps. Most cats have to crouch when moving around in the den.
- Cadets den: A large, hollow log sits at an angle, one end perch in the crevice of a rock. Brush surrounds the sun dried log and some succulents even grow out of the thick bark. Cats can either curl up inside the log or sleep on the brush around the outside.
- Elders den: A large rock mound that was built many, many moons ago by the clan cats. The entrance is large and easy to enter and exit- made to spare the old cats from crawling around on old joints. The cavern inside has been worn down from many pawsteps, so as the moons go on, the cavern slowly becomes taller and taller.
- Nursery den: Built under a large bundle of brush, the nursery has been carved out in the roots of the old foliage. There are several large caverns and many small ones, making it a fun place for kits to bounce around and explore. Cats can easily have their privacy or chitchat with their next door neighbor.
- Chiefs den: There is a small crevice underneath high-ledge that holds the chiefs den. It is a small opening the leads into a cozy den. Barely enough room for 3 cats, the den was not the best choice for the chiefs den, but it is very, very slowly getting worn down from the years of use.
- Healers den: A large hole in the side of the rock wall that was once used for water drainage now holds the Healers den. It is a long, narrow corridor that stretches to the outer side of the rock wall. That end has since been closed up by the clan cats to insure that no intruders sneak in, but the passageway makes quite a good den. Healers usually hang their herbs out to dry on the rock wall. The den usually sits at a comfortable temperature most of the time, staying cool in the deepest parts of the rock wall during the day, and warm during the night.
- Fresh-kill Pile: A circular formation of rocks in the center of camp. There is a large boulder in the middle of the pile, making it harder for birds of prey to swoop down and steal their hard-earned prey.

Predators
- Coyotes - Hawks - Eagles - Snakes - Foxes - Badgers
Prey
- Geckos - Lizards - Rabbits - Squirrels - Quail - Small Birds - Mice - Unguarded Eggs*
*If animal has already hatched from egg, and is not a future threat to the clan, the cats will leave them be. They understand that if they take everything from a nest, the prey population will plummet.

Unique Hunting Techniques
- These cats have a hard time hunting in such a barren landscape, so they have taken to burying themselves in the sand to camouflage themselves. They lay in wait until a prey animal comes by and then they shoot out after the unsuspecting creature.
- This clan also uses their sharp claws to climb up trees and onto rock ledges in search of unguarded nests and eggs. The cats will carefully pick eggs out of the nest and leave any new hatchlings (that will not be a future threat). Some cats opt out of this hunting technique because it can be very dangerous if you stumble across a nest with a hostile parent watching over it.
Seasons
New-Sands: Rain is more common, but still not regular. The desert is starting to heat back up to 90-100 degrees. New life is blossoming in the valley. Nights are colder- around 50 degrees. Shorter furred cats tend to work during the day, longer pelted cats lean towards hunting/patrolling at night. Use caution with long furred cats working during the day. Will overheat easily.
Scorch-Sands: Temps are at their highest- sitting above 100 degrees most of the time. Rain is uncommon, but possible. Nights are colder- around 60 degrees. Long furred cats hunt and work during the evening and night, shorter furred cats work during the morning and day. USE EXTREME CAUTION W LONG FURRED CATS BEING OUT AND ABOUT DURING THE DAY.
Cool-Sands: Temps sit between 70-90 degrees. Rain is very uncommon. Nights are colder- around 50 degrees. All cats should be able to work during the day without issue. Some may still choose to work at night. Be cautious of overexertion and overheating.
Storm-Sands: Temps can drop to 20 degrees F. Snow and rain are few and far between. Temps can reach up to 60 degrees between storms. Nights are around 20 degrees as well. Be cautious of incoming storms and temperature drops. Most cats prefer to work during the day and curl up in their nests during the cold nights.

It's not a problem! I didn't realize just how much stuff I had stored away for this clan, so before I knew it, I was basically ready to put it all together. I hope you like it!
