Mika continued walking with no real destination in mind at this point. It wasn't like going back to the labs was an option. No. But he still hadn't experienced the world enough to venture around. He wasn't sure if he should look for people and try to blend with the crowds, or if he should keep to the wilds and hope that no one could tie him to a missing persons report or anything similar. Both options had such strong disadvantages. Maybe until he could socialize a bit more and figure out how he was supposed to act, he should keep out of heavily populated areas.

The cold winds felt as if knives were going through his body as his wings folded in and shielded it as much as it could as he made is way to the edge of the woods, the soft and slow songs of crickets echoing almost as others replied. The blonde haired male turned his attention back to the field he was once laying in and enjoying the perfect weather before he attention moved on to the darkened area ahead of him. To most that was scary enough but to Kayne it really wasnt too much. Knowing he didnt have to wake up the next day to suffer all over again but to wake up to nature around him. The pads of his fingers ran over the rough bark of the trees he passed as he lowered his chin and ran his one free hand up and through his hair to slick it back away from his face as he watched every step he made as close as he could in the low lighting he had from the moon. The cracks of banches breaking beneath him sent a sharp sound out which even set him in high alert a moment, his body tensed but shortly afted eased back down as he continued to slowly walk to avoid too much sound as he looked up at the hanging branches above him to find one strong or at least large enough for him to even sit in and rest a while to be out of harms way.

Meek froze when spirit looked up the tree. The small boys plan had backfired so he stood as still as he could, but the cold winds made the boy shiver. He slowly tucked his large wings closer to his back. Meek hoped he could not be seen in the trees still remaining leaves. The cold never really bugged Meek but up in this tree the cold air felt ten times colder.

Not being able to tell exactly what he was seeing, Spirit decided that his best plan of action was to keep moving. He sighed, "It would be nicer to be in more darkness anyways..." he mumbled to himself as he stood up. Once he was on his feet he stretched and started walking again. He had been walking for a few minutes when his stomach growled. "...oh yeah... guess I forgot to eat..." He sat back down under some bushes and tried to think of where to get food

Meek breathed a sigh of relief and started to slowly climb down the tree. When he was almost half way down a branch broke under his left food. Meek didn't fall but the sound was ear slitting in the dark night. Meek jumped down, hoping he happened been heard by any one.

Mika stopped as he heard a tree snap somewhere in the woods. He didn't hear the crash, so whatever it was, it couldn't have been too big of a branch, but still. Something was moving around in the trees, it sounded like. He hesitated, unsure if he should move toward it. It could be something bad. Like the lab. He was mostly certain that no one would be out here without some kind of agenda. He sighed quietly as he began to realize he wouldn't rest easy until he had an answer. He began to walk toward it slowly, picking his steps carefully to avoid making noise. As the cover on the ground grew thicker, he began to crouch to try to keep himself hidden.

Meek looked around him, the night was still silent. But meek felt like something was coming. He tucked his wings closer to his body. The bright blue dots on his wings reflected the moons light slightly as he started to slowly and soundlessly make his way away from the tree. But Meek was a rather clumsy kid and he tripped on something, Maybe a stick or a thick patch of grass. Meek stumbled and fell into a small raspberry bush.

(Might be a little slow. On a game)
Mika continued quietly in the direction of the noise. He wasn't sure what he'd do when he found what had caused it, but he'd cross that bridge when he got there. As he moved forward, a slight flash of light (not really bright light but something) caught his attention overhead. He stopped moving and looked upward. He should have been watching the trees from the beginning if the noise had been from something breaking a branch. He stayed in place, watching where he thought he'd seen the figure.

Meek got out of the bush and quickly brushed off his pants. The red berries had left some stains on his favorite sweater. He sighed very quietly, unaware of Mika or any other thing happening around him. Meek opened his wings slightly to see if any of his feathers had gotten pulled in his tumble.

Again, a flash of color against the dark and large movement pulled Mika's attention. A humanoid figure through the bushes ahead. But different, just like him with a set of large wings. The color was different, and it looked like there was a patter that his feathers didn't have, but even so, he hadn't seen another winged person since he'd gotten out of the lab. Were they here to bring him back? Or had they escaped too?

Meek froze, he felt eyes on him. He quickly folded his wings and turned towards Mika. Meek could not move. He hoped that this boy wasn't going to bring him back. Meek wanted to run as fast as he could, but his feet was glued to the spot. Meek had never been the most brave boy. Meek locked his eyes with Mika's.

Mika remained in place, trying to decide what to do. The stranger hadn't tried to run at him immediately. From what he could see in the dark, he looked nervous. The fact that he tried to maintain eye contact was the only thing that made him hesitate a little. He'd hidden his wings on sight, and he clearly seemed to be trying to play off that Mika hadn't seen anything unusual, but it wasn't exactly the best bluff. He hadn't run away either... He had to be just as confused, right? Maybe? Perhaps he could break the stalemate and make something happen? Anything had to be better than just sitting here worrying what would happen next.
Mika made his decision, and he began to unfold his own wings slowly, flicking them lightly as he watched the stranger for a response.

Meek seemed to relax a tad bit when he saw Mika's wings. But Meek was still nervous. This other boy could be from the labs to recapture him. But he had not attack or moved yet since they had begun this stalemate. Meek unfroze and took the smallest step back. Fear and uncertainty still flooded in his mind. The forest seemed to be dead quiet again. The only sounds were their breaths in the cold air.

A cold, yet covered hand lifted to his eye as he rubbed the tiredness out of them and continued to walked along the slim dirt path given to him that was still covered with branches. Normally, people want to be quiet about this but also it wasnt really a bad idea to break anything in the way to possibly scare anything off. The calm eyes lifted to the trees as he sighed and bent his fingers to hold onto the bark a bit more before pushing off of it and moving forward as he looked around him. The rustle of leaves and the flapping of small wings surrounded him. It wasnt very blunt as to what it was. Could be bats, could be owls. Kayne reach out for the other trees before him as he took in a deep and cold breath before his voice softly rumbled in his throat. This wasnt just a song he knew or was well known to the common people in towns, it was just something he usually muttered to himself while sitting in a cage all day until ripped from the only shelter he had. It truly was the only soothing thing there besides only one of the lab employees that seemed nicer than the most, though it could of just been because she knew he needed a gentle voice to push him into doing the things they needed to prevent getting himself in more trouble. It wasnt out of the norm either. Kayne was one to cause trouble and get himself in a bad situation and injured but other wise he was more than willing to get things over with just to get out of that torment. Blinking his eyes a few times, he turned his eyes back up to stare ahead.

Spirit burrowed deeper into his bush, hiding from the noises he was hearing in the trees surrounding him. His breath was coming in short gasps and the only way he could quiet himself was holding his hands over his mouth. He peered through the branches of the bush, hoping to see a small animal pass by him that he could blame for the noise, but also dreading what else it could be. His stomach growled loudly again and he froze completely, his eyes wide with fear.

(Sorry i had to do dishes)
Mika saw the step back and before he could stop himself, he spoke. "Wait." He said quietly, unable to keep himself from reaching forward. If he was retreating, he couldn't be part of he labs retrieval team, right? Not one of those monsters were shy or hesitant to attack. But now he had to know if he was from the labs too. He had no idea others had successfully escaped. It wasn't like news was really able to travel from experiment to experiment. They had no other way of knowing except to figure it out and escape themselves. So how...

Kayne crushed another branch below him as he walked before stopping in a large opening and lowering his humming to be a little more personal as he looked around the radiant leaves that held the pale light from the hidden moon. It was like a fantasy land to him. The ground was patched with only parts of grass and he others dirt and rocks, and a large opening in the middle to where the night sky could be seen clearly. A smile slowly pulled at his lips as he stepped out into it and glanced back behind him as he lowered his wings and allowed them to just drag along the ground where dirt started to blend with the dark gray tips and swept small tracks.

Meek kind of gave a small jump when Mika spoke, he didn't expect the boy to speak for some reason. Meek seemed to calm down a little bit, maybe finally realizing this other boy was no threat. Meek nervously tucked his hands in his sweater pocket, his gaze wavered to behind Mika, he though he heard something in the distance. But Meek had more pressing matters at the moment. Meek may have looked sort of relaxed but he was ready to run at any moment. "Are you from the labs?" He asked quietly. He didn't know why he was asking this, maybe to brake the silence.

Mika's stance visibly changed when he heard the lab mentioned. "You know about them then? You came from there too?" He asked. He tucked his wings against his back as they'd grown tired from being held up, but he didn't hide them quiet yet. He was still sort of blown away that he'd somehow run into another escaped experiment.

Jasmine "Jazz"/17/female/ Jazz is 5' 8" and has a wingspan of fifteen feet. She has pale green eyes and light red hair. The color of her wings are a variety of colors, looking similar to the wings of a hawk. Her primary feathers are streaked with black and white, the secondaries are streaked white and brown, and on the undersides of her wings, the covert feathers are a soft ivory color. Over the tops and down the backs of her wings, she has shiny, strong brown feathers fading perfectly into the primaries. Jazz grew up too fast, something that's made her very serious and mature, often taking control of situations because she knows what to do. She often worries about everything, her posture always stiff unless she's flying. She's a very caring and nuturing and often puts others before herself, so much so she often has to be reminded to take care of herself. She's very innovative and smart, and if given the chance, she'd make you laugh until you couldn't breathe. She comes off as very tough and cold, the caring side of her very surprising when it comes out. But, above all, Jazz is terrified; but she wouldn't dare to show you.

Meek gave a small nod. "Yes." Meek paused and glanced around quickly. "Its crazy to meet another escapees from the labs." Meek's voice was quiet and sounded kind of shy, this was Meeks first conversation since he escape. But now he was thinking about it he never really had a full conversation before. Meek fidgeted with a small silver button in his pocket, never though in a million years he would stumble upon another kid from the labs.

Mika nodded in agreement. "Right." He paused, uncertain what else he could say. "How long ago did you escape?" He asked. He'd only been out for a week, maybe a week and a half. He'd seen a few larger areas where people lived, but avoided them for fear of being too conspicuous. But maybe someone who'd been out longer knew how to blend in?

Meek though for a little bit. He had not kept track of how long he had been out. "Maybe two weeks or three i really don't know." Meek had tried living in a big city but it had been hard, so he left and went to this place. It had felt much more safe. Plus he there was a small market about fifteen miles, with the money he had gotten from the city he bought cheap food with.

Spirit's breath had finally evened out so he lowered his hands and let out a small sigh. "Maybe it was nothing?" he whispered. He sat still for a few more minutes before he slowly started to get out of the bush. He was as careful possible, but the bush still made a fair bit of noise as he removed himself from it. "Shhhh" he shushed the bush even though he knew it wouldn't actually do anything, but it made him feel slightly better.

Muscles tensed as he swiftly turned his head in the direction of a harsh rustle of leaves rubbing against one another. The moonlight seemed to make the blonde strands illuminate as he stood out in the jagged circle which he found. The grey became a pale tint, yet seeming white as well as the light and color mixed. The males stiff fingers released the fabric which kept his hands barely warm against the cold air that held his body. His head lifted for a moment before lowering and narrowing his gaze as if it would help him see in such dim lighting. The only thing he could hear at this moment was the beat of his heart as he just stared blankly in the direction of sound before a single step was taken closer to it.
