Hamish smiled a bit seeing the beers in the chilled glassed and raised his. "Cheers." He said. Once his food cooled he started to eat slowly, saving his beer for the moment.

Ravyn easily started drinking for a good moment or two. Ah, she definitely liked wine more, but this was pretty decent. Once she was satisfied, she started eating up the food. It tasted like heaven. "Wow." she mumbled through a mouthful of food, "Tastes great." she praised.

Hamish ate quietly across the table from her, taking a sip of the beer now and again. He'd opened his book again on the table and went back to reading. "Thanks." He glanced up over at her.

"No problem." Ravyn gave him a quick and easy smile, soon going back to casually eating her food. This felt pretty nice. At least it didn't feel too weird or awkward for either party, so she hoped. Naturally she would glance over to study him. Huh, who knew that guys could look good while being intelligent? She pursed her lips while sipping her beer. "We should..." she made a face at that. Nah, seemed forward. "You should let me help next time, I may learn a thing or two."

Hamish moved the plate aside when he finished eating and picked up the book. "Next time I cook? Maybe." He replied, still looking at his book and sipping his glass of beer now and again. "You're one of the medics right?" He asked

"Yeah." Ravyn answered, "My brother and I found the pack when we were nineteen." she added, "He prefers the loner life though." she shrugged, trying to act like that didn't bother her in some way. "Needless to say, I probably made herb tea for you or something if you had a cough. I'm pretty good at making those."

"Have ye had any formal trainin? Went to a university or somethin?" Hamish asked and looked up from his book again. He set it down and took the last few sips of his beer. "You were born a werewolf?" He added.

"Er... I was taught by one of the older medics..." Ravyn rubbed the back of her neck sheepishly. "My brother and I were turned when we ran away from home... We were... Sixteen, yep, real stupid of us." She laughed slightly. "I'm too stupid to learn actual formal training, common sense seems to be my strength." she paused before adding, "Or it's just dumb luck that people haven't had serious injuries while I'm in charge."

"Huh, I thought I was the only turned one here." Hamish said. "It's rare to come across werewolves who were turned more than a few years ago or up until recently. I was turned about... 18 years ago now, or almost." He said.

Oh geez, Ravyn nearly forgot that Hamish was clearly older. Then again, she was sick and tired of stupid guys her age. "Yeah, it's a big problem." she nodded. "My brother essentially went out on his own last year because he thinks he could either help lone turned wolves, or put a stop to the rogue wolf causing the turnings." she explained. She pursed her lips at that before tapping her glass slowly.

"I don't see why he can't do that with a pack unless the alpha was against it. Isn't this pack the one who helps out lone turned wolves? That's how I got to this pack anyway." Hamish said. "A few more years and I'll have spent more years as a werewolf than as a human."

Ravyn chuckled slightly, looking down at her hands. "He's... He's difficult like that. He likes to think he can do things on his own." she rolled her yellow eyes. "Oh really? You feel more wolfish now?" she teased gently, at least trying to lighten the mood for him.

"I used to think the same way too, I bet he'll grow out of it, come join the pack when it doesn't work out for him." Hamish said. "I don't really feel more wolfish, I don't really want to. I try to stay human as much as possible."

Jay nodded as he bit into his sandwich after watching his Alpha down half of hers in a couple heartbeats. Swallowing the bite he had in his mouth he said, “Well it ought to be a fun night. All the new members will help make it interesting at very least.” He said as he but into his sandwich again. Truthfully all he wanted from that night was to get closer to his Alpha and show her his strength and devotion to her.

Ravyn let out a long sigh through her nose. "I hope he comes back to at least visit..." she pouted slightly, "The idiot didn't even leave me a note." she made a face at the memory. "Being wolfish can't be all that bad. I've been one for..." she trailed off as she struggled to count in her head, "Six? Yeah, six years so far." she shrugged.

"You should call him or something." Hamish suggested, raising an eyebrow. "I don't really see anything good about being a wolf. Had to give up all my plans." He said.

"Really? What plans?" Ravyn asked, soon tilting her head from side to side. "Wait, lemme guess, you were going to be married to the love of your life, but tragically had to distance yourself from her." she mocked jokingly.

"No, nothin' like that, I'm not that lucky. Was gonna go to university, start a business." Hamish replied. "Been so long I forgot what kind of business. Guess it doesn't matter much now."

Well, now Ravyn felt bad for the poor guy. She bit her lip slightly, soon reaching over to touch his arm gently, "Hey, sorry, I didn't mean to fully bring up the past." she said, her voice becoming a little softer. "University? Bet it was for something like business." she chuckled.

"Yes it was, and don't feel bad it was half a life-time ago." Hamish shrugged, not having any bad feelings about it other than a bit of disappointment. "Are you still gettin' used to being wolfish?" He asked.

Sparkly EarthChip2888 Layla jumped at the sound of a knock. Not many people knocked. The police knocked, her mind unhelpfully supplied. Layla felt her anxiety rise with her wolf. She sucked in her breath as her teeth grew sharp and ears grew tipped. Many of the members here, including her, were no longer exactly in the system or might be wanted. The only way they got by was avoiding any thing involving the government. It made walking by the police a very tense moment and one she tried to avoid. She glanced round the quiet halls. Not a soul seemed to hear the knock. It was up to her. She let out her breath and her features returned to looking more human. Of course, her golden eyes stayed stubbornly the same, but she could claim contacts on this one. She opened the door a crack and peeked out. The duo standing at the door was an odd one. She would assumed they were family, but her nose told her something different. They were both lone werewolves and their scents hadn't mingled the way a family scent would. When she caught the faint coppery scent in the air, she flung open the door. "Come in. Please, come in." She ushered the two in. " thank you miss but I'm not here to stay, this girl her name is Aurora I found her on the streets she got bit on the arm it seems she got that for a while and she doesn't remember anything but her name " Nick said hoping they would take her in Aurora stood silently, fidgeting with a loose thread on her clothing.

Inara snorted and leaned back against the tree. Fun wasn't exactly her word for what she suspected would happen. "It's going to be an interesting night, that's for sure. All those new wolves experiencing their first full wolf night? It's going to be chaos and we might have to hunt down more than one deer now." She said, already planning out the night. The deer they caught was usually for formalities. Each wolf only took one bite from the deer, usually. It was to establish each werewolf's ranking in the pack. For some reason, this would calm the beasts inside them until the next full moon. The new ones were a little overzealous at times due to the beast fully taking control. The alpha knew without a beta, making sure the new ones didn't skip the order was going to be difficult. Not like she had much of a choice. Inara plucked a few blades of grass and began to tare at them absentmindedly.
---
Layla looked from the little girl to the male. She couldn't believe the teen was just going to leave her here. She looked nervous already, being alone might make it worse. If he wasn't intent on staying, maybe it was best he didn't get attached. "Thanks you." Layla simply said to the teen before offering a hand to the girl. "I can bring you to someone who can help with your arm." Her tone grew softer, but her words were still straight forward.

He grinned and looked over at her. “Well if you need an impromptu Beta, I can help. Keep those newbies in line.” He said as he made a muscle then laughed. Putting down his arm he continued, calming down. “I just want to help you Inara.”

Aurora's mother had firmly drilled the All-Strangers-Are-Out-To-Get-You lesson into her head, so she was basically forcing herself not to turn tail and run immediately.

Inara smiled at joke. It did lift her heart a bit. Even if there were plenty of new comers, there were also many older members who could help. Not too much since they were the same ranking but seniority did help a bit. She relaxed a fraction and sighed. Her legs uncurled and she allowed the torn grass to leave her hands. She watched each piece fall. "I know." She said, "You have always been a good friend. Thank you." She reverted more into her alpha tone towards the end, true emotions covered up. It was a force of habit by now. Emotions made things...difficult and murky. It was easier for her, if a bit inconsiderate.
---
Layla lowered her hand, a bit disappointed. She had seen Inara do this once or twice. She had thought this would work. She tried not to feel disheartened as the girl didn't move a muscle. In fact, it looked like she wanted to run. Layla held back a frown. When Nick spoke about not having a home, she did frown. "We have enough beds for two. Everyone should have a place to sleep from the cold. The nights are going to get a lot colder soon." She said, gaze focused on Nick. Her tone was more steady now. She didn't understand why he wasn't willing to join the pack. Being alone was not good for anyone now, not with the bitings.

Upon hearing her tone shift he immediately ducked his head, wondering if he said something wrong. Slowly he sat up again and sighed happily as he relaxed and leaned his head on the tree. "I could use a small run after this, shake out my fur some. Care to join?" He asked , looking over at her with a playful glint in his eye.
