[Also not too pleasant that my city was on a list of North American cities Russia wanted to bomb if it came to nuclear war, my high school had a huge bomb shelter built underneath it.]

(Bleh, at least the high school is prepared for something if one thing led to another. It's kind of metal that your high school has that. Being in the states, my high school never really had that, we're next to the Atlantic ocean anyway, so a bomb shelter wouldn't be too practical)

[Yeah our city is a huge steel and car manufacturing hub and we sell it all to the states so that's probably why the Russians wanted to take us out.]

(Yep, that'll do it for sure. I doubt it would get to that point. Then again, that's what we also said about our presidential election, lol)

Jay sped up as well and smiled as they got to the park. "Well at least it's not too crowded." He commented as he looked around. "Where should we sit?" He asked, trying to get rid of the tension between them. He really did like Inara, a lot. But he wasn't sure quite how to say it and still be a good subordinate. For zero))

Ravyn could sense two individuals waiting outside the door. The knocking also helped. Oh? Did people actually need her for something? And here she was thinking that today was going to be a boring day, just like yesterday, and the day before that. she slowly got her feet off from the table, and sat up straight in her desk chair. "Medicine area is open!" she called over before slowly grunting in an effort to stand. it wasn't like it was that hard, but she was also exhausted on a mental, and potentially spiritual level. That was when she caught the scent of two wolves. Ah, probably some of the younger ones? That wouldn't have come as a surprise to her. (It's all good, no pressure, lol)

Inara hummed as she looked over the park. The dog owners were currently takin up all the sunny spots. Inara felt a twinge of sadness and jealousy when watching the dogs and their owners. She had always wanted a dog. Sadly, most dogs did not want her. They always seemed to know what lurked under her skin. When she was little, she would have had a bitten hand if not for the quick hand of her parent pulling her away. She snapped out of the memories, blinking. Right, a spot. She noticed an oak tree. Sitting under that would be nice, right? Yeah. "The oak." She stated plainly, still not sure how to act around Jay.

Hamish finished up making a large tray of food before he put it into the oven, cooking in the main kitchen downstairs of the packhouse. He didn't so much care if any of the other pack members were going to have some, since they all seemed busy, thinking he'd have dinner tonight then a bunch of leftovers otherwise. He set up and a timer and went to go sit on one of the stools for a while, picking up a book to read while he waited.

(I'll probably still be around, but I'll be sure to check it out, lol)
Ravyn soon got herself all bored. Oh well, she figured Hazel would be back, and it wasn't like anyone was dying on her. Besides, she was hungry. Slowly, she stood up from her chair before starting to head into the main kitchen. Yep, for once it seemed like she could eat alone. Then she caught sight of Hamish. Well, maybe she could survive eating with him around. She walked to one of the refrigerators, letting out a long sigh as she was casually picking out some cold pizza left in a plastic Tupperware box. Good. This was still edible. She walked over to the stools and sat across from the older wolf. "I figure you won't mind some company, whacha reading?" she asked, tilting her head to one side.

Hamish had heard her come into the kitchen but didn't look up and kept on reading, seeming like he hadn't noticed her. He turned the pages quietly, being a quick reader. Gradually the smell of cooking food from the oven grew stronger in the background. He looked up when she sat across from him, but only slightly. "It's about the Lusitania." He replied, tilting the book up towards her to show her the cover.

Ravyn glanced to the book cover. Dang, he predicted her attempt at conversation? She had to admit, it was pretty slick of him, but that also made her get a little annoyed. "That's the ship from the...second world war?" she asked while rubbing the back of her neck, casually taking a bite of her pizza. She was blessed with looks, not so much intelligence. She liked to think she made up for it in common sense. Well, if he intended on talking about ships, she would just have to suffer in her own stupidity.

"First world war." Hamish corrected her. He kept on reading but glanced over at her once or twice. "Ye don't have to eat rotten leftovers, dinner's in the oven." He said.

"This pizza may be cold, but it ain't rotten..." Ravyn rolled her yellow eyes to him. She made a mental note to soon take the colored contacts out of her eyes before she went to bed. "You're making food? Huh, mother always said it's good to have a man know how to cook." Sure. She was attempting to shamelessly flirt. Then again, thanks to a lack of a teenage social life, it wasn't like she could be much good at it anyway.

"My mother thought the same thing but I suppose it came naturally, I enjoy it quite a bite." Hamish said, closing his book and setting it down on the counter. He checked the timer again and looked towards the oven. He wasn't really catching on that she was flirting.

"Yeah? That's actually really sweet. I used to cook all the time for my mom." Ravyn strained a smile at that. Of course she didn't want to admit how much she hated making Mexican food now. "What did you put in the oven? Stew? Veggies?" She wondered, especially since it was smelling pretty good.

"Mine did all the cookin herself but I helped out from time to time." Hamish said. "It's chicken, broccoli, and a bunch of other spices in braided dough. A small one is enough for 8 people but I made a large one, lot of ingredients." He said, getting up and checkig the timer again.

Ravyn grinned a little at that as she sat up a little straighter. "Bet it'll feet the whole pack." she said before leaning over to watch him check on the oven. Yep, she took the time to check him out too, it wasn't like he seemed to notice. Yep, he was looking pretty fine, if she said so herself. "Need help taking it out?" she asked, figuring she could try helping since she was able-bodied.

He smiled and nodded as he followed after her towards the oak tree. He too noticed the dogs and their owners but isn't feel the same pang as his Alpha. Hensmiled some as his belly gurgled hungrily and he chuckled, walking a tad faster. Getting over to the shade he sat down and grinned up at her. "Care to sit with me?" He asked.

"That's what it's meant to do." Hamish stared at the timer a few more seconds before it was done. He turned it off and left it on the counter while he went to the oven, pulling out the tray and setting it on the counter. "I've got it." He said, grabbing a knife to cut it into slices. "How big of a slice you want?"

Ravyn got up to throw out the rest of the pizza she had, soon leaning against the counter to watch him for a moment. "I'll take a square, may as well be small since I tried eating already." she forced a bit of a laugh. "It smells amazing, is it some Scottish recipe?"

Hamish cut off a square and put it onto a place, sliding the plate across the table to her before cutting himself a slice of it. "I'm not sure, probably not." Hamish replied. "I only found out about it recently."

"Huh, ya know you could have told me otherwise and I wouldn't have known." Ravyn teased, getting out a plate for his slice, and forks and knives for the both of them. "What do you want to drink? Water? Tea? Something alcoholic?" she asked while taking out two glasses.

Sparkly EarthChip2888 Layla jumped at the sound of a knock. Not many people knocked. The police knocked, her mind unhelpfully supplied. Layla felt her anxiety rise with her wolf. She sucked in her breath as her teeth grew sharp and ears grew tipped. Many of the members here, including her, were no longer exactly in the system or might be wanted. The only way they got by was avoiding any thing involving the government. It made walking by the police a very tense moment and one she tried to avoid. She glanced round the quiet halls. Not a soul seemed to hear the knock. It was up to her. She let out her breath and her features returned to looking more human. Of course, her golden eyes stayed stubbornly the same, but she could claim contacts on this one. She opened the door a crack and peeked out. The duo standing at the door was an odd one. She would assumed they were family, but her nose told her something different. They were both lone werewolves and their scents hadn't mingled the way a family scent would. When she caught the faint coppery scent in the air, she flung open the door. "Come in. Please, come in." She ushered the two in. --- Inara nodded and sat a foot away from the male. She set the bag in between them and quickly grabbed her sandwich out. The mouthwatering scent of the food made her stomach ache. She dearly regretted leaving lunch for such a late hour. The sandwich didn't stand a chance against the hungry werewolf. In large bites her parents would have scolded her for, half of the sandwich was gone. She picked up the other half, but after a minute, just wrapped it up. She would need it later when doing paper work or after helping someone else. Those tasks always made her hungry. She sighed, finally relaxing as a cold breeze hit her face. She looked towards the sky, searching for any sign of the moon. "The full moon is in a couple of weeks." She said, hopefully making herself seem relaxed.

Hamish took the fork and set the knife aside, waiting for his slice to cool a bit. "Maybe a beer? I think we have a couple left in the fridge." He replied.

"A beer? I think we're well stocked with those." Ravyn chuckled before soon going to the fridge once more and taking out two bottles. Then she was able to get the freezer open for two chilled glasses so she could pour them in. Huh, bartending for a couple of months had done her some good. "Cheers." she added while setting down one of the glasses for him.
