hello everyone! i'm looking for one or more 1x1 rp's, casual in terms of activity requirements, and mostly casual in terms of writing requirements, lol. a couple of sentences per post is fine, though more is grand as well. i honestly care more about developing our characters/story/world more than how long each reply should be haha.
some of my interests include:
- fantasy (especially with things like dragons, or creatures like centaurs) - any sort of monster/beast-related thing - power-type roleplay, could include like superheroes, but would also be fun to do something else - animal-human mutants or shifters - boku no hero academia (would prefer canon characters, could do an au or something-- maybe try to flesh one out based on the recent ed??) - i also had an idea recently about, like, roleplaying minor gods/deities or something. it would be fun to make some up of our own, though many that could be a small group thing. idk, lemme know if that strikes your fancy
though i'd be open to other things if you have suggestions in addition to generally requesting that we have fun building our roleplay and character relationships, i gotta pretty much require that you be okay with lgbt+ type content, as many of my already existing characters fall under that umbrella and i'm, well, somewhere under it as well. not sure where exactly. we don't have to do any romance at all, but i'd really rather just know that the people i'm rping with are comfortable with, like, non-cishet people/characters existing and stuff, lol.

Joking aside, I would love to rp having a relaxed rp in the middle of my 'well you did a couple paragraphs, so I should do a couple paragraphs' would be awesome to have. I do have an idea, if you want to hear it. It is sort of supernatural/deity but possibly not really related.

I was making a joke...hence the 'joking aside'
I will get the idea up in a second.

I was making a joke...hence the 'joking aside' I will get the idea up in a second. yeah, but... essentially turning the rightful indignation of lgbt+ people in response to people that don't support their right to exist and live their lives is, in my opinion, not funny i don't mean to be harsh, i just mean to make clear my stance on everything haha

I will keep that in mind in the future and refrain from making such jokes around people I don't quite know their joke preferences Nah, it's not that harsh, you actually were chill when explaining it, and I appreciate that in people. Ok, that aside, next post will show the idea xD I have it typed up, just wanted to reply to this right quick.

ink and bone -- that all sounds good! i'd definitely recommend s2 of bnha though. i'm loving it so far haha. im totally into those characters and their quirks and stuff, but it's cool if we don't wanna rp that. and playing with mutants or creatures like shifters/werewolves or something living within human society, and fleshing out how they relate with others can be really neat. man, it's been a while since i thought about tg haha. i was pretty into it, and read the whole first manga story, but never finished the anime. but something like that could be neat, especially if the mutants/whatever actually do pose a threat to humans, or some of them at least.
raven -- ooh cool! i'm also amused since you and shiokaze have the same 'calculated risk' quote in your signatures haha. had to do a double take as i was scrolling down

Raven: I didn't even notice that That is really cool. (thanks for pointing it out, falcon) Falcon: Part of me is wondering if I heard it before and my mind was like 'we gonna store that' and then I forgot where I got it and my brain went 'hey! look at this!' though this is probably just me being paranoid about accidentally stealing ideas. So if you heard this before somewhere, let me know xD Slight paranoia out of the way, the general idea is that there are two gods (or) two goddesses (or) one god and one goddess (depending on our character genders) who were worshiped for a long time. Through the years, the church (or) temple (or) shrine (or) some other religious place pick two people to take the place of the two deities, telling them that they ARE the reincarnations of the deities. The thing is, none of the chosen are, they are all random people who are chosen as figure heads for the people to worship. No one knows this-not even our characters-expect for a small circle of higher ups who choose the next 'reincarnations'. They normally pick the reincarnations when they are born, ones who were born relatively close to when the last ones died. Though not telling anyone till they reach (age here because this can be up to the two of us so we can pick age ranges we are both comfortable with) years old. Sometimes if no one is born around the death of the deities, which they...make sure..the two die relatively at the same time, then they hide the fact they died until the next ones is nearing to be born. This can go a couple ways: Our characters think something is up and try to figure it out, eventually finding out about the secret. OR Our characters are actually the reincarnations of the deities and the people got lucky OR One of our characters is and one is but wasn't the one picked to be the 'reincarnation' OR just anything else you can think of. This is mostly just building a world to where we can decide a couple of things together.

i always want to watch more anime and im just. hn. too lazy to find it to watch. and then i end up dying inside bc i see cute pics on my twitter tl i love tg but some of the stuff they show isn't my style. my friend made me watch the whole first season lol but the concepts in it are great ^^ bc some are really dangerous but others want to live their life, but humans villanize all of them
anyways uh i don't see it often, but i love it when shifters sort of have a personality that ties in with their animal? or when mutants have personality or behavioral traits based on what they have? those are my favorites haha
but we could have a tg style thing with shifters/mutants/a minority with cool quirks and perhaps there's a hub like that coffee shop, anteiku or something, that provides aid or their mutant/shifter hunting place has a few shifters or mutants under their control and they constantly clash with a certain person they're hunting ah that would be cool i feel... sometimes ya gotta put in effort to watch a new series or whatever even if you think you'll enjoy it... that's relatable ooh i love that. since most species do tend to have a pretty typical, like, temperament, it's fun to play with that sorta thing in a partially human character. so, some sort of people with other animal characteristics sounds good. do you prefer shifters or some sort of mutant/hybrid? i do like the idea of some sort of meeting place. it could be a restaurant or cafe like anteiku, or maybe like a motel or old warehouse or something..? so many possibilities and so, would having our characters be openly disliked/feared be better than something like a quieter, more insidious type of hatred from normal humans? that could be fun since there would probably be like hunters or some task force in charge of destroying them, but the shifters/mutants would have to be pretty significantly dangerous for that to happen i feel like

yup
we could maybe do both? i do like the idea of them still having to prey on humans like the ghouls, but with a tolerance for human food (but not too much)
some ppl could be shifters, some could be hybrids, some could be mutants- and there's a general ranking of their power in that order from lowest to highest bc there are small animals that shifters usually are & only the bigger and faster ones are dangerous, hybrids could either have visible animal traits in a human form or be part shifter and part mutant making them more powerful, but mutants have a wide range of abilities they could have, making them the most dangerous
and they'd definitely be hunted. "what if a mouse crawls into our home but they're a shifter and kill us all? what if a mutant wreaks havoc?" stuff like that. it would be pretty cool if the task force (like the ccg) kept trained shifters/hybrids/mutants to fight back as well as specialized weapons. (and shifters that can be used like bloodhounds?)
a meeting place could be anywhere from visible to not visible, like a coffee shop or employees of a bookstore or hiding in a warehouse. the bookstore sounds cool, tbh. and we dont have to do it in tokyo so yeah! maybe it's somewhere in europe or the us. the us would be neat bc it's such a huge country- a very, very large national shifter/mutant hunting force. much more danger. & the chars could be in a small town close to a few large ones to have a big range

Well I think I would like to do it so both of our characters are the reincarnation, and we can decide what the deities were for (if their powers are going to be the same, powers under the same category, or a ying-yang sort of thing). I like the idea of 'wait what, being a deity? what? I did not sign up for this' sort of thing. Or that one of them doesn't know (this could fit into the first two options listed below) Or one of them knows about the abilities but doesn't put the fact they are actually the deity in their head. Just 'hey look at this, cool' because being a deity isn't something people expect xD with which scenario? Thinking about it, I think the one were they were both chosen would be the one that would be my least favorite option, as it could be done later in rp (if we go that long) with the other options (the one where only one is chosen and the one where neither of them are chosen) I like them both. The second one could potentially have disconnect, but that can be fixed with starting out a bit later with having our characters describe their feelings the day they were/weren't chosen and starting where the one starts to try to figure out if the other is actually the other deity/convince them that they are actually the other deity. The last one could be something where they have to find each other and the tests, and then trying to take their place again.
I like the last two a lot, and I am not really picky on which one I rp on the second one.

Hey, you do your character I of course won't control that. I think the idea you have right now fits really well actually (I'm gonna call them the elders from now on too, it 'rolls off the tongue' better) Do we want to do one in and one out? I actually have a character that would fit the place of being in, though if you want both out, I can think of a character idea if we want to do that. Do we want to set an age where they would be chosen? Our characters would probably be at most a year apart, and if we do a simple time skip we can just pick the age we would want our characters to be. (I was thinking between 17 and 26 for their current age, I can rp characters fairly well in that range) What kind of deities? Did you have an idea of what to do? I can do some more research on my end as well

I like light and dark because we can associate a lot of things to each. I just have a few ideas (kind of mostly building off of yours. Light: Daytime, family, stars, protection/safety (because one feels more safe with light), ext. Darkness: Nighttime, love, shadows, healing, ext.
I would think darkness would be more sky as you can see the most sky (because stars are always there) when it it dark and Light be earth because you can see more earth when there is light. Fun fact: both sides are associated with wars and fighting. So fighting could be an ability they both share. One could focus more on preventing harm and one reversing it. *Like said above with healing/protection* Another thing that the two sides share sometimes is taking care of souls after death. IDK if we want to add this, just something I found. Something that Darkness side could do is give blessings to marriages and Light could give blessings to newborns.
Anything else to add? do you like this or do you think something would be better?

don't worry i'm super tired i word things badly sometimes i'm thinking hybrids sort of happened like that, yeah, but there were only a handful and escaped a while back in the timeline idk it prob wouldn't do to investigate how they came about? just that pure shifters are rare & hybrids & mutants are more common. they could have come about in a lot of ways but i'm thinking that the genes in shifters mutated to make hybrids or something so pure shifters almost never come about now and mutants are diff than shifters or hybrids bc they're more versatile in possible abilities and that someone's hunting em all down not much more to it than that yee suburbs so... how would the mutants be different from the hybrids in this world? sorry if i was unclear, earlier when i mentioned mutants i just meant hybrids, particularly those that had been deliberately genetically changed by researchers or whatever im easily confused haha thank you for bearing with me

Anything else to add? do you like this or do you think something would be better? mhm, they're pretty vague concepts... sort of blank canvases for us to mess around on o: lol i suppose that makes sense.. i was thinking just in the terms of, like, celestial/heavenly bodies like the sun and the moon being bright, and earthy things like soil and trees tending more towards dark shades. but then again, these could be complicated deities with a variety of abilities and stuff to work with o: yeah, they could both be skilled with different battle... abilities or whatever. maybe in The Olde Stories or whatever, they fought each other (maybe with, like, armies of demigods or angel-type henchmen) but then worked things out and their newfound peace sort of... allowed this civilization to blossom. or something. idk what i'm talkin about tbh. that would be interesting, though. maybe light focuses more on protection/defense, maybe melee stuff in terms of fighting, and darkness on healing/strength (so the fighter doesn't need a shield or whatever-- they can take more damage by being stronger or SOMETHING idk aha we can figure it out this is super cool tho) and a more long-distance battle style like with archery and throwing knives. it would work with a sort of 'hidden in the shadows' type warrior haha but perhaps this village/nation/whatever just calls on those forces for assistance when they war with other nations-- they don't necessarily have to be, like 'gods of war' unless we wanna do that oooh that bit is interesting too! the dark forces work with the passion in relationships (romantic or not) and maybe the light forces provide good fortune to children at birth, people starting new phases of their lives, etc

ohhhhh wait so we have shifters i was thinking hybrids were animal like people, was i correct i was thinking mutants as in like. xmen but less....xmen-like dONT WORRY IM ALSO EASILY CONFUSED IM GLAD LMAO I JUST DONT UNDERSTAND THINGS SOMETIMES LOLthat was my understanding of hybrids yes i think we had a failure to communicate wrt the mutant thing r i p so they'd just have, like, powers? idk much about the x-men at all rip me my bad i think we could do the most with human/animal hybrids if we were to pick one but i'm willing to work with other stuff as long as... it's not too complicated. in the "story" we don't have to have characters investigating the origins of any of these not-quite-humans, but just for my understanding i hope we can work out something that makes sense and whatnot

YAY ME TOO HAHA H yup. dw im thinking mutants as in powers, yeah. some also effect them visibly or something- depends, really, but they hide better than the hybrids bc it's not as visible but yeah! human/animal or maybe one of the last shifters. the shifter to hybrid thing could be explained as a disease effecting genes of shifters idk but uh so main plot: chars in small town, at bookstore do we want one to be maybe a newcomer in town? or both to already be there? yeah, ok... maybe (this isn't really how genetics works but shhh) the hybridizing occurs sort of to "stabilize" the genes of the shifters? since somehow in a shapeshifter's dna there would have to be instructions for making up the body of a snake or wolf or whatever, and that would be super complicated for the body to deal with. after several generations maybe the animal characteristics became more and more integrated into the human forms, until there wasn't really any shifting happening, just varying degrees of human- or animal-ness in one form yee one (or both of our) character(s) could be a newcomer, seeking refuge after hearing rumors about the bookstore?
