(Yeah he's on crutches right now.)
Simon had become a master at putting things in his armpit, or setting things in bags to carry things around his wrists. Frankly he'd brushed the thought of a prosthetic away because Inera had never brought it up so he thought she didn't want him to have them. A good punishment, in Simons opinion so he never brought it up because that's what he thought this was. He nlticed the way that she looked at him like he was some fragile thing and it kind of irked him. The teen scowled at that, opening his mouth to point out that he wasn't some fragile human, he was a werewolf! Granted his immune system was terrible, and he still was always getting sick but he wouldn't just break with an activitiy.
Then she asked him a question that startled him. He jumped a little, staring at his sister with surprise. Was she about to tell him too bad, or was she actually offering him a chance at using one. "I'd be allowed to have one?" The question came without thought, his green eyes wide with shock.

Her features, once focused and serious, crumbled. Her mouth was left open slightly as she looked up at her brother with wide eyes. She wanted to reach out for him, to hold his hand or hug him, but she restrained herself. She adverted her eyes downward as she fought to gain her composure again. He thought I wasn't allowing him to have one, the realization left her with heavy heart full of shame. She had left this for too long. She forced herself to look back up at her brother. "Of course. I can't promise the best there is, but I'm sure the pack can save enough to get something decent." She promised with a small smile. She was already calculating just how much money they had. The real trick would be getting a medic who knew how to apply one. They could go to a human doctor, but Inara wasn't willing to risk it yet. She would talk to Hazel when the girl got back. It would be done, she was sure of that. Even if they had to go to the human doctor.

"I usually prefer small grocery stores over big ones." Amanda explained as she followed Hazel, and Layla. "Not much of a fan with crowded places to be honest." She added. "Thanks for the suggestion I will keep that in mind." She said with a smile.

Simons eyes brightened when his sister said of course, his heart soaring just a little at the thought of being able to actually get a prosthetic. He offered her a genuine smile this time, excitement making his entire body fill with energy. "Anything would be good- but if it's too expensive I'm good with the crutches too," he told her, not wanting her to feel forced into this one. He knew that the PT for learning to walk again would be slow and painful, he'd read stories before, but he'd still love that opportunity. He'd always been an active type, despite his tiny frame and tendency to fall ill whenever he was left out in the elements for too long. He was the type to go on walks and hikes and go exploring whenever he could, but now he couldn't do that much. He was hoping with a leg he'd be able to get back into the swing of things again.

Inara grinned as her brother was starting to show some true happiness. Even if she was happy, she couldn't help but to feel a flicker of worry. The task wasn't going to be easy. It would take a lot of planning and moving money around. Hopefully, she could catch the beta later and talk about money. "We will fine the money somewhere." She promised as she stood up. To be honest, Inara's day was filled. She should be talking to someone, helping in one way or another, or repairing something. She decided to push these things to later. If she staid up late, she could finish everything on her list. Right now, she just wanted to get out her pent up energy, preferably with Simon. "Do you want to go for a short walk?" She asked. Normally, she would ask him if he wanted to hunt, but they did have a lot of meat and again, she didn't want him to get hurt.

Simons eyes brightened at the reassurance, before his green eyes dulled once more at the thought of them having to shift around money for that leg. He didn't want to be a nuisance to the pack, or make any area have to cut back just for the sake of a prosthetic. "If it's too much trouble, then don't do it, okay? I'm happy with crutches too," he told her quietly but firmly. There was no way he was going to cause any more trouble for the pack than he already had.
At the offer of going on a walk Simon brightened again, though, much like any puppy would when their owner offered them one. "yeah, as long as you aren't too busy I'd love to. Or, if this gets you behind on things I can help. I'm good with the administrative stuff," he told her with a grin, shifting lightly on his crutches as he spoke. It was the one thing he could do well in his fathers eyes, and he'd often helped the former alpha when things got too crazy.

Inara had to hide a small frown by biting her lip. She didn't like the fact that her brother thought himself lower than the rest of the pack. This was another spike to her heart. Not only did she feel the wound personally, she was upset because her pack wasn't working. They didn't have omegas so no one would ever have to feel this way. She thought their pack would work as a support group for people like him. Similar experiences are suppose to help, right? Inara tried to help everyone who walked through the doors. Yet, she had ignored Simon. The tangy copper hit her tongue and she froze. She had been chewing on her lip in silence for too long. Now there was a small cut on her lip, nothing new. She looked up at Simon with a small smile when he spoke again.
Inara shook her head at his offer. She couldn't delegate work to anyone else. It definitely wasn't Simon personally. It was the whole pack and her pride. Truth was, Inara didn't trust a single packmember to do her work. She might give someone a small task, but she would be looming over them until they finished. It was partly her need to feel helpful. She needed to keep moving and providing. She worried she wasn't a good alpha or leading the pack to doom. She would never explain this to anyone for the obvious reasons. Instead, she always brushed everyone off. "I'm fine. Nothing too big was planned for the day," She told him while heading for the door. Her words were somewhat true. She had a lot of small things planned, but most could be pushed off until later. She didn't normally mess with her list, but she figured Simon was more important. Coffee and willpower would help her finish her work later.
"So, wolf form or human form?" She asked, sounding a lot more cheerful as they headed towards the door. She could feel the itch to roam around their territory. The need to do so in wolf form was also strong, but partly because of the approaching full moon. A week and she was already feeling the itch. She didn't like it.

"Mmm... I don't know. Human we'd have to stay on cement, so I guess wolf? Unless you want to go as a human. Thats cool too," he responded cheerfully, not noticing the slight frown on his sisters face. He followed her slowly, the crutches making soft clicking noises as he hummed happily, excited to actually spend time with his sister.
This entire time he'd thought that she was too angry to actually talk to him so he kept to himself half the time he was in the pack house. "And if you ever need help, let me know, seriously. I've been trained in that stuff. " he added, looking excited at the thought of going on a run.

[ sorry sorry sorry to make you all wait!!!! ;n; sorry for how awful this post is too gah i'm just sorry ] hazel ruth janna Hazel listened to Layla's comments before Amanda's answer to her question. She tilted her head, thinking for a moment. "If I'm not mistaken, Bob's is a local grocery, correct?" she asked, glancing between the two for a moment before looking ahead as they drew closer to town, the trees thinning.
"If you don't like busy places, the smaller one would be better. But I'm not exactly sure what you're looking for," she sighed, finally feeling some relief. This girl wasn't so bad, and nothing horrid had happened when they talked to her. She just seemed...lost. She was now determined to help her. She turned a cautious gaze back to the girl, sizing her up for a moment. "What exactly are you looking for?" she asked, noticing the double meaning behind her words but choosing to leave it up for Amanda to choose which meaning to answer.

"I know." She said softly. After all, they did train side by side, at least until the alpha took her under his wing. She hadn't realized back then how much pressure Simon was under. She had actually fabricated a world where Simon would be her beta and she would be the alpha. Needless to say, this dream was crushed when Simon left. Even now, it would be difficult to put him in the beta spot. Trust the whole pack held for Simon left when he did. Even her trust for him crumbled when she had heard he left. She couldn't put someone at the beta spot who crumbled under pressure or locked himself away.
Inara walked out of the house barefooted. She closed her eyes and sighed. With all the heavy thoughts swirling around her mind, it was hard to relax. Honestly, she could shift when stressed, everyone could. Stress shifting was painful. The wolf surfaced in mere seconds rather than a minute changing. The pain was much more compact. Thinking of this and her brother didn't help. It took seconds for her to change. It was painful at first, but a rather dull pain thanks to the nearing full moon. Once in her wolf form, she shook out her fur and stretched. She then looked for her brother.
(So, to make things simple, it is A-Okay to change with clothes on. The clothing can come back after shifting back to human because magic. )
---
(Intra; no problem! ^^ You can take all the time you need. )
Layla nodded in response to Hazel's question. In reality, it would more of a general store with a larger food section. But it was a place to get food and it was run by a friendly local man. The man made subtle comments about the howls heard from town or seeing a wolf near town, but Layla didn't think he was trying to reveal them. Well, she was pretty sure he was. The man seemed fascinated by myths and stores. It was always weird to think about people believing she was a myth. if she actually told anyone what she was, they would laugh her off. Anyways, Layla figured the man was trying to warn them if they became to obvious while trying to get them to admit to being weres. He still had the cheapest supplies around, so Layla could deal with him for his deals.
Amanda's reply had Layla worried. Fruit didn't exactly fill people up. Tactically, it made people more thirsty and hungry sooner. She knew she had promised herself that she would not get involved. She would not poke and prod into the loner's life, but she was worried about Amanda now. Just eating fruit would starve someone. "Where are you staying then? Are you sleeping in the forest?" She asked, hoping for a bright side to this story. So far, Amanda was abandoned in the woods with only fruit to eat.
(Do you guys want something to happen when they go to the store? )

Simon sighed softly, able to tell that she was under copious amounts of stress just by how quickly the changed forced itself upon her. He wanted to point that out, that he could help with that but then closed his mouth, knowing that the "arguement" would fall upon selectively deaf ears. He was well aware of Inaras perfect world where she was alpha and he took up his fathers position of beta. It was her dream and he knew that without her having to even voice it, he knew her too well. He saw the glances she'd sneak at the alpha and father, and then to him. He'd seen the hope in her eyes whenever father would take him to teach him the betas duties, when they started to train separately, and that Hope was the only reason why he'd continued on with the horrible training that his father adminstered. He shivered at that thiought, still trying to find something about his father that he could say he loved undeniably besides the fact that he was his father, but he couldn't. They were different, too different and it'd often end up with both of them frustrated and his father angry.
If he were to be honest with anyone he'd never wanted the beta position. The beta had to be strong, like the alpha, charismatic. Simon was small, sickly, and painfully shy around others outside of the pack. He preferred the administrative side of leadership, and if there was, like, a secretary position he'd snap it up in a minute because that's what he was good at. He hadn't realized he'd changed until he realized he was on the ground and lain was ebbing away, his thoughts were too preoccupied to notice. The now three legged wolf got onto his paws, panting happily now that he was in wolf form.

Inara woofed in greeting when she saw her brother in his wolf form. She trotted up to Simon with her tail tip slightly raised. She did not display dominance with her human mind still in control. Instead, she circled the other wolf. Their scents were more troubling. It had been too long since they had gone on a walk together. Too long since they have done anything together. Their scents were no longer mingled as family's scents usually were. Instead, she could only catch the scent of Simon. Shame tried to take over, but she pushed the feeling away. She reassured herself that this would change. She would try to be a better sister and a better alpha from now on.
She moved away from her brother and to the edge of the woods. She raised her muzzle and scented the air. Then did the same with her muzzle to the ground. Nothing. There was the thick scent of wet soil and wood hung in the air, but nothing like a threat. They were safe. She looked back and barked. A playful challenge. Could he keep up? She darted into the woods. It was no where near her full speed, due to the fact she didn't want to tire herself out and she didn't loose Simon. It was more of a speedy trot.

Simon let out a happy yelp at the sight of his sister, wagging his black tail happily. He took in his sisters scent, a pang running through him when he realized that theirs were no longer intermingled like a family scent should be. His heart twisted at the thought, and he shifted almost anxiously at it, wondering if she still saw him as her brother. They weren't blood related, after all, even though they were raised as siblings and he'd never thought of them as anything but that. But maybe she didn't anymore? He wasn't sure. He heard the playful growl and huffed in response as if to say he could still keep up. There was a playful glint in his yellow eyes as he shot forward, easily keeping up with the pace.
It was easy to tell he'd been practicing his running on three legs, ever since he'd been released from the infirmary he went on late night runs for practice. Of course he exerted more energy now, and his paw steps were slightly awkward and louder than they used to be, but e was still able to keep up. The little black wolf even shoved at his sister playfully as they ran, looking like a pup next to her. He'd always thought of himself as his sisters shadow, and it was easy to tell why even when they ran next to each other. It never bothered him, the comparison, in fact he liked it. He loved the idea of not being noticed by the others.

hazel ruth janna Hazel's heart ached for the poor girl. Fruit was not nearly enough sustenance for someone like them. Her lips pursed slightly as she debated for a moment.
"I know a place," Hazel said after a moment, quiet once more. She looked over at Amanda, pity in her gaze. "It's near some other werewolves, and I'd have to clear it with my Alpha, but I know of a grove of trees up a ways. It's secluded, near freshwater, and in our territory so your pack won't be able to bother you," she offered, hazel eyes still holding blue specks here and there.

Inara grunted as if the push had hurt her. She even drifted away as if he had managed to shove her away. It was a familiar dance they had done before. Not under their father's eye. No, this was their thing, not stained by training or any other harsh memory. On their break days, they would often run and play, just like pups they were. It didn't matter if she was being groomed by the alpha or if he was groomed to be the beta. They could do anything. Her heart soared at the memories. She playfully snapped as him before swerving away.
Slowly, she came to a stop at the creek. Her breath was coming out in short bursts, but not harshly. Just little puffs of a good run. She shook out the water that had fallen from the trees out of her fur. Even if it had been a short jog, Inara figured they should rest at the creek. She didn't want to tire out too much and she didn't feel like she should leave too far from the pack house. With a huff, she fell dramatically to the ground. She slowly reached out her front paws and dipped them into the water.
--
Layla looked over at Hazel, in a bit of shock. It was a nice offer. However, Layla had mixed feelings after Amanda spoke about her pack. They seemed dangerous if Amanda had to go to such lengths to avoid them. She was a bit unsure about having this girl near the house. Amanda's pack could come and try to attack her. A dangerous thought slipped into her mind. She could lead her old pack back to the pack house. Layla shook her head and looked away from the pair. No, Amanda may be someone who Layla just met, but she didn't seem like the type. Amanda was just trying to survive like the rest of them. A small grove in the forest wasn't too much to give, especially for a werewolf in need. At least this way, Layla could bring food to the women. She grinned at her idea as she stepped out of the forest.
As they walked on sidewalk, Layla scented the air. Her body tensed as she caught an odd scent. A couple of weres had passed through, but their scents were too light to identify. She glanced around. They were a block away from the movie theater, so she assumed it was a few of the pups. No harm. Besides the excess of ranger cars, nothing seemed out of place. She huffed, pleased.
Amanda's words caught her attention and she cocked her head, rather like a dog. "Why? Do they fear something in the forest?" She asked, looking over at Amanda.

Simon let out a small, triumphant noise as the larger wolf grunted, happy as they slipped into a familiar dance. He saw out of his peripherals that she even swerved a little. and he was taken back to the times they'd used to sneak this in as their play time during their runs. It had always been their thing, something they hid from Father because if he found out his two children were playing around like pups he'd throw a fit. They were expected to be calm, cool, and confident at all times. He felt himself lighten up at the memories and even put a little bit of speed into his run, enjoying the feeling of being with his sister.
Of course he wasn't paying attention to where they were going, exactly and ended up in the stream. He'd realized that Inara had slowed down way too late and found himself skidding in the soft sand of the bank and tumbling into the streams water. He yelped at the cold that cut through his thick fur and he popped his head out of the water, a rather shocked expression on his face before realizing the water actually felt good after exercising so he stayed in there, a bit embarrassed at his clumsiness, his cinnamon-like scent being washed away with the water.
