Ternfeather nodded at Emberpaw. "See... because of her ancestors, this was something that Amberphoenix could do easily... And she, through her apprentice, Embertail, was able to pass this on to those cats that weren't of twoleg descent. You can see others because of this position and can smash down your paws onto others." *****************************************************************************************
GriffinClan
Lauralwing just glared at Cinderclaw. "Doesn't seem that way, you mousebrain! So... Are you going to do something or just sit there and watch?" *******************************************************************************
Guardians
"Now enough about Moongriffin," Reily coughed. "Now, Blooddragon was interesting... The smallest of the original founders but the most blood thirsty out of the group. She created the Runner and Tunneler system to try and better work with each warrior's strength. However, that caused trouble as the two groups began to separate..."
Yui listened, still frowning about what was said earlier.

"And how long do I have to hold this position?" asked Emberpaw, already feeling the strain. His legs were tired already and this was asking a lot. Before he could get his answer, he stumbled backwards and had to twist around to land on his paws. He didn't say anything, but his tail drooped a little. Then he turned around and pushed off with his forepaws again, retaking the position.

Cinderclaw flicked an ear, as if thinking about it, then grinned. It wasn't a very pleasant one, but at least didn't seem to hold any immediate maliciousness. "Sit here and watch, I think." He flicked his tail, eyes looking Laurelwing up and down

"So what made them join together as one group again?" muttered Tyr, almost giving up on sleeping. His head was still down and he still looked like he was trying, but it just seemed like everyone was in a story-telling mood today.

"Nope... I'm out of here!" snarled Lauralwing. "I don't have to put up with this!"

"What do you mean?" Reily asked. "Because the Runners and the Tunnelers never left the clan... They just disagreed with each other... And some of them did hate the others... Blooddragon would be furious with what has happened."
"She is," answered Raiden. "Blooddragon does not like what has happened... In fact, are any of the leader happy with what has happened to their clans."

Emberpaw nodded and gratefully returned to all four paws. His legs did feel sore. Very sore. He hoped that this would actually do something for him in the long run, he just couldn't think what yet, his head was to busy complaining. He pulled in one paw close to his chest and it eased the feeling a little, so he repeated the action with the other paw.

"Finnnnnnne," said Cinderclaw with a smile that wouldn't have been out of place on a snake. After a couple of seconds and a small shudder went through him, Cinderclaw blinked, the memories of the last few seconds fuzzy. Oh StarClan, what did I say? he thought as he noticed the she-cat.
*****************************************************************************
Guardians
"I just meant," said Tyr, lazily opening one eye. "How did they stop disagreeing with one another?" If you could call the current state of affairs 'agreeing'. As far as he cared, every clan had its problems, not least of all that one. But what did he care?

"When the leader after Blooddragon had enough and created a second deputy position, so that both sides had a chance to lead," answered Reily. "That needed up helping... Though more Tunnelers ended up leaders than Runners."

Thistlepaw felt a little thrill hearing this. It was scary, sure, but the unknown was exciting too! She scented the air, knowing they were approaching the border now. She didn't smell any Griffinclan cats, but that didn't mean they wouldn't run into one.
Ghostsight was using his claws to cut burdock and chervil root into bite sized pieces. He slid the pile of root chunks over next to the remaining whole roots. The bite sized roots were easier for kits and sick cats to take, so avoid whining about taste from the former and unintentional choking from the later, he'd made cutting up some of his herbs a habit. The leaves and flowers had been neatly arranged within his hollow and now the seeds and roots swallowed his attention. The herbs he'd left outside in the sun were drying up nicely and he hadn't been bothered all day. No warriors with thorns in their pads, nor apprentices who managed to twist their paw, nor cryptic Starclan jargon, nor freaky murderous creatures and clanmate corpses. It'd been a good day so far. Ghostsight's stomach rumbled loudly and the tom blinked in surprise. He'd stopped for a meal since he'd started... right? He racked his memories for a moment before realizing with mild irritation that he hadn't eaten anything since when he'd first woken up. Sighing, he pushed his work to the side and stretched. Sliding out of the medic hollow, he padded over to the fresh kill pile and picked out a sparrow.
Griffinclan
Hushclaw dropped off the fish. He sent a short prayer to Starclan, almost out of habit, thanking for the plentiful rivers that provided prey for the clan. He knew the apprentices were out training and most of his clanmates were still hunting. He'd organize a patrol once more of them returned. Until then, though... Hushclaw drew a blank. He'd eaten not long before he went hunting, so he wasn't hungry. He flickered. Hushclaw reappeared near the mouth of the camp's entrance. He found a comfortable spot and stretched out in the sunlight, keeping one eye peeled for his clanmates, so he'd be able to put that patrol together quickly.
Dragonclan
Waterslash padded into camp, frowning at her thoughts. She slid around Darkstep and Staghorn wordlessly to look at the fresh kill pile. She sat down as she considered the prey available, looking a little spaced out.
Pegasusclan
Glassheart pulled up closer as she sprinted so she was near to Flowerleap. She kept glancing over her shoulder at the noisy Gullfeather until she finally blurted to Flowerleap, "What's his problem? What'd we do?"
Guardians
Riddle, seeing Tyrant headed for him, muttered, "Starclan save me." He considered using his power to disorient Tyrant and flee, but instead Riddle just sighed and let the tom approach, "What is it, Tyrant?"

Emberpaw felt a little better and blinked up at his mentor. "Next?" he questioned.

Cinderclaw kept his distance as well, not want to interact with the grumpy she-cat. He didn't think it had been to bad this time, not like when Emberpaw had been a kit. But it was still a point where he lost control. His claws dug into the grass and his shoulders hunched. He greatly disliked dealing with this.

Tyr flicked his tail, wondering the same thing, but still saying nothing. His single ear was angled back to catch anything said, but his eye was also closed.

PheonixClan "Nothing yet," mewed Ternfeather. "This is your first time doing that move. You need to shake your limbs to recover some of your strength." Crossphoenix noticed Ghostsight and nodded at the tom. However, she didn't try to speak to him, staring into the distance. Amberhawk had to laugh at her apprentice as Smokeclaw glanced over the border. "No one is here," Smokeclaw mewed. "Let's hurry up." Suddenly, the bushes across the border shook. Ruinpaw jumped back in fear. *************************************************************************************** GriffinClan Lauralwing Stuck down into the water. However, she missed the fish and hissed in anger. (Poor Foxgriffin got ignored.... Time to cause trouble!) Foxgriffin hissed in anger as Hushclaw did not respond. He stood up and dashed out of camp, heading towards the gathering place (Forgot that PheonixClan doesn't border Griffinclan... My bad Doesn't stop Ruinpaw's fear though.) ***************************************************************************** DragonClan "Darkstep, you useless piece of flesh!" roared Littledragon. "What were you doing out of camp?" "I... I was hunting!" muttered Darkstep, glancing around for an escape route. "Then why didn't you bring back some meat, you..." shouted Littledragon. "We found some eggs, Littledragon," interrupted Staghorn, rolling the eggs near the fresh kill pile. ****************************************************************************************** PegasusClan "He is nothing but a mousebrain that thinks that he has the right to be a grump," explained Flowerstep. "Just because he has useless wings doesn't mean that he has the right to..." "You stupid pieces of foxdung!" Gullfeather shouted. "Get back here!" *********************************************************************************** Guardians "I... don't know," answered Reily. "Though I think that it would have to be that the Tunnelers have a stronger body type... Runners are built thin and lightly!" "Okay..." mewed Yui. "Do you want to check out the Starlight Field?" he mewed. "What to see what little biters there are? Or new queens?"

"Alright," said Emberpaw, still shaking out a paw every now and again. His gaze wandered around the area as he did, but his eyes were back to being dull and uninterested. His thoughts were firmly planted on the ground, not daydreaming, but he had his head's usual background hum going. Nothing was getting through but his mentor's words and wishes. No feeling, no thoughts, nothing.

GriffinClan
Cinderclaw still kept his distance, but started to hunt as well, looking into the water to see if any fish were swimming near him. His claws dug into the bank and his breath came in slow, forced gulps. He didn't feel like looking up to see what his fellow warrior was doing.
(Now that I remember, Cinderclaw's mate is still back at camp. Anyone want to engage her?)

Tyr stretched out one of his legs, standing after so long, and beginning to wander around. His missing foot didn't seem to cause much of a problem, he'd lived several years without it. "Anyone want to walk with me?" he asked no one in particular.

Thistlepaw instantly hopped forward as Ruinpaw jumped back, "Who's that?" She bore her teeth eagerly, "SHOW YOURSELF!"
Ghostsight returned his leader's nod and settled down near his den and dug into the sparrow. He wiped a stray feather away from his muzzle, herding the feathers that fell off to the side. He could use feathers for all sorts of things; softening bedding, distracting kits from his herbs, and more. Not that he needed as many has he hoarded. He crunched on the sparrow's wing, tearing it off so he could better reach the meat in the bird's chest.
Griffinclan
Hushclaw started as Foxgriffin sped past him out of camp. He narrowed his eyes in exasperation at the leader's retreating back. What was wrong with him now? The deputy sighed and returned to his semi vigilant state. Wheatwing appeared in an instant beside him, her scout stone held delicately between her teeth. Hushclaw about had a heart attack. He scrambled back, his heart pounding in his chest. Starclan, so that was what it was like when he teleported into camp. Wheatwing smiled brightly, not noticing how badly she'd started the deputy. She had a small bundle of plants balanced on her back. In an overly familiar tone she mewed, "Oh, hey Hushclaw! Is Foxgriffin here?" "You just missed him." Hushclaw's fur began to lay flat and he looked at the plants curiously, "You weren't gone long." "Oh... mousedung." Wheatwing cursed, sounding disappointed, but hardly any less cheerful, "Well, ha ha, yeah. Only gone a day and poof! Here I am!" She shrugged the plants off her back and babbled on, "But I found those herbs that our store was lacking and I didn't want to lose them. I can only carry so much, y'know?" Herbs. That explained it. A Medic must have made a request of Wheatwing. It wasn't uncommon for the Crafters and Medics to ask the scout to seek out particular materials. Wheatwing had a knack for finding almost anything. "I can take them in," Hushclaw offered, already grasping the plant bundle in his teeth, "You go get something from fresh kill pile."
[Wheatwing can engage her, Mintedstar/fur.]
Pegasusclan
Glassheart bristled in alarm. Why was he being so mean to them?! She had half a mind turn and yell back at the tom, but her courage shriveled at the thought of facing him. Then she got an idea. Glassheart turned invisible. The whole world went silent. It was a little unnerving, but it silenced Gullfeather. Glassheart turned around and crouched directly in the path of the rude tom, trying to trip him up.
Dragonclan
Waterslash's ear flicked in Littledragon's direction. He had a point, but she hardly saw what yelling at Darkstep was going to do about it. The frail runner was a mess as it was, and Waterslash figured her family just meant to "toughen her up" or something, but they were failing miserably. Groaning internally, Waterslash decided to be nice. The runners really didn't deserve how good she was to them. She reached over Staghorn and snagged the egg Darkstep had retrieved in her teeth, "Good thing too. I've been craving egg. Thanks, Darkstep."
Guardians
"I was headed there already." Riddle responded and padded past Tyrant. He flicked his tail in a reluctant gesture for the tom to follow.

"Alright," said Emberpaw again as he did what his mentor said without complaint. He walked around for a couple minutes, then start running. It was several more minutes before a panting Emberpaw slowed to a halt back where he had started. Training was hard, but that was the only observation that entered his mind.

GriffinClan
Cinderclaw gave a rattling sigh and walked away from the water. It looked like there wouldn't be any fishing in this part of the river. At least today. He started to move up-stream, hoping that the prey had not been so lucky as to have heard the grumpy she-cat's temper-tantrum.
Hawthornstripe waved her tail back, glad to see that Lionclaw had caught prey for the clan. Half an ear was on what Wheatwing and the deputy were up to, a murr of laugh rumbling in her throat. She wasn't sure what was more inviting, to go pester Wheatwing or to ask Lionclaw if her mate had manged to distract Laurelwing. She turned, ear twitching, to look at Wheatwing, staying where she sat. "Well, if I was able, I'd make sure to put some sort of warning devise on you. I'd like to know ahead of time if you are suddenly going to appear behind my back."
***************************************************************************************

Tyr followed, his pawsteps uneven on the ground. He didn't move with any sort of hurry and he seem satisfied just to be moving away from the noise. Maybe he should have gotten more sleep last night or something. He just couldn't get out of the 'cranky-elder' phase he was in today. He felt older than he actually was.

Ternfeather nodded as she watched her apprentice run. However, after he stopped, she stood.
"Now, hold out your front leg again, as long as you can," she ordered.
Crossphoenix yawned, thinking about what had happened to the leader before her.
At the border, the sound ended up being a rabbit that hopped out of the bushes. It looked at them before running.
Ruinpaw sighed as Smokeclaw put his tail over his shoulder in comfort.

Lauralwing snorted, then began to walk off, tail high in the air. She began to head in the direction of the training grounds.

PheonixclanThistlepaw's face scrunched up in a combination of surprise and indignation. "Oh COME ON." She stomped her front paws in frustration, scaring the rabbit away. She slumped back in line with the rest of the patrol, pointedly avoiding eye contact with the warriors. GriffinclanHushclaw put the herbs in the medic den and padded out to the camp entrance again. Although momentarily distracted by Wheatwing, he was still bothered by Foxgriffin's sudden rush earlier. The leader was usually bearable company, but he was incredible easy to set off. Had something happened when he was wasn't watching? Hushclaw suddenly felt a spike of frustration at how he felt the need to kit-sit his own leader. Wheatwing chuckled, "Ah, well, I only reappear at my last saved location. Startling Hushclaw was just good luck!" She picked up a fish from the fresh kill pile and sat back down next to Hawthornstripe. She gestured to the fish, "Want to share?" DragonclanWaterslash shot Littledragon a dirty look for ignoring her, but turned away with her egg. She padded after Staghorn and sat down by the tom. She began picking at the egg's shell, clearly not too enthused by the meal. "So you couldn't answer me earlier," Waterslash mewed to Staghorn in a nonchalant manner, "Did you get up to anything aside from hunting today?" PegasusclanGlassheart sprinted after Flowerstep and turned visible just in time to hear her friend's congratulations. "Thanks," Glassheart smiled victoriously, but looked over her shoulder down at Gullfeather, "I hope the tree didn't hurt him too bad. Even if he deserved it." GuardiansRiddle closed his eyes. By Legendclan, Tyrant was such a headache. Riddle glared at him, "She doesn't like you. That's it. Now quiet. We're out here to hunt." Riddle focused on the approaching meadow, breathing in the first scents of plants instead cold earth all day. [Darky, Is Foxgriffin closer to Riddle and Tyrant or Raiden and Tyr? [ Sparkly Sure, I wouldn't mind.] PheonixclanThistlepaw sighed, but the tension started to leak from her frame and soon she was running forward, along the border to mark the next spot. [They are at Hydraclan's border, right?] GriffinclanWheatwing smiled at Lionclaw as she came over and took a bite of the fish, "So, anything news since yesterday morning?" Wheatwing was so used to asking for the news of what had been happening while she was out travelling that she instinctively started most conversations with her clanmates like this, even when she hadn't been gone long. Hushclaw noted Cinderclaw returning with a particular expression. He hadn't thought the tom had been gone long enough to look so tired. But glancing at the small fish, Hushclaw assumed that fishing at the other river hadn't gone so well. It would explain why Laurelwing had yet to return. Then came Flameheart. Hushclaw returned the friendly nod and hopped down from his perch to pad into the camp after the two warriors. He walked in the direction of Wheatwing, Lionclaw, and Hawthornstripe. DragonclanWaterslash nodded at Staghorn's answer and watched Littledragon heading for his den with an annoyed expression. Under her breath she muttered, "I know he's our leader, but sometimes he can be such a Dungpelt." [ lol, I looked up insults that have been used in the warrior cats books and there's a lot more variety than I realized.] PegasusclanGlassheart held in a laugh as she nodded, "True!" She crouched, as if to climb down and continue on their way, but hesitated, not wanting to accidentally draw Gullfeather's attention again. He'd probably be even madder and this time he had a reason. GuardiansRiddle was surprised Tyrant decided to drop it, but hearing the tom's question, Riddle scented the air too. Griffinclan. Riddle narrowed his eyes. Griffinclan bordered the Guardian's territory, but their border's scent shouldn't have been noticeable from this distance. "Someone's trespassing." Riddle broke into a sprint towards the smell. He didn't know who it was, but he had a good idea which Griffinclan cat would do such a thing.

(Sure, why not? No one at the border.)
"What an eager apprentice," muttered Smokeclaw. "Good... We need more cats like her. There has been enough darkness..."

Foxgriffin stopped and sniffed the air. He hissed in anger and headed towards the Star Oak, hoping to outrun any upcoming Guardians. "Stupid mousebrain Guardians!" he snarled in his head.
"Nothing much," answered Lionclaw. "Except the Guardians going around and warning us to watch out..." She glanced up at Hushclaw and nodded at him.
Flameheart placed his fish then nodded at Cinderclaw. "What happened to you?" he asked. ********************************************************************************
DragonClan
"Agreed," hissed out Staghorn. "Now... I'm out of here...."
Staghorn dashed out of the camp to follow Darkstep.

Gullfeather moaned then dashed off, leaving behind a trail of feathers behind him, cursing as he went.

Tyrunt snarled and unsheathed his claws. "Let's get them," he replied. "This is own territory!"

PheonixClan Emberpaw leaped into the air, ready. He landed a few pawsteps away, fur bushed out and eyes narrowed. He was close to the ground, claws sheathed, but every muscle in his body ready. Though he hurt all over. He's muscles burned and he was tired. But he wasn't just going to lose either!
--
Griffinclan Hawthornstripe listened, ears twitching, to what the other cats were saying. She nodded her head a couple of times as Lionclaw talked, agreeing. "Yes. That is just about the only thing that happened." She cast a brief glance behind herself at her mate, noticing his small catch, the fact he hadn't returned with Laurelwing, and that he seemed more tired than a simple hunt should have caused. She gave a small sigh and turned back to Wheatwing, Lionclaw, and Hushclaw. It was easy to put two and two together. But she also knew he wouldn't want her to know.
Cinderclaw put his catch where it was supposed to go, then carefully answered Flameheart. "It's nothing. It was just a hard day at hunting." That was all he said and the simple look he gave the other cat showed he didn't want further questions.
--
Guardians "Oh, him," said Tyr dismissively. He didn't like the leader, but wasn't really surprised he might be up to something. It was just how this all seemed to go. "Should we do anything about it, or...?" he asked, licking a piece of fur on his shoulder that was sticking up.

"Hello, Espira," answered back Rachel. "Are you looking forward to your Clan Choosing Ceremony? Do you have a clan that you are hoping to join?"
"Not at the moment," snarled Raiden. "However, lets go to the Starlight Fields just in case... We don't need any missing kits!"

PheonixClan
Emberpaw raised forward, low to the ground, ducking under her paws. He hopped he was fast enough to make it for her exposed chest before she fell onto him...

GriffinClan
Cinderclaw's fur prickled. Thanks to his awareness of his mate's feelings, he hissed, "Don't call him that," at Flamepelt before he could think.

Guardians
"Agreed," said Tyr, dipping his head. He adjusted his stance as he walked, possibly to add a little extra speed to his step. He cared about the kits and didn't want anyone or anything to put them at risk.

Phoenixclan
Thistlepaw felt her chest swell at the praise. She paused in her work after a moment to look up at her mentor flying with a look of awe. She'd seen her do it a few times, but it was still pretty cool. She bet that from up there, Amberhawk could see into Hydraclan's territory and whether there were any Hydraclan cats coming near! Thistlepaw's feet began to itch with curiosity. "I'm going to mark the border up ahead!" She called as she darted further down the border, out of the immediate sight of Smokeclaw and Ruinpaw. Once out of sight she squinted into the identical birch trees that clustered the opposite side of the border. She scented the air, but couldn't make out any smells that stood out to her. No sign of Hydraclan. Well... better double check. Besides, why should Amberhawk get to see, but not her? After placing down a quick marker, Thistlepaw darted over the border. She circled a few random trees, wondering if all of Hydraclan's territory looked just like Phoenixclan territory. That didn't fit with what she'd heard as a kit...
Griffinclan
Hushclaw gave a small smile. Lionclaw was on top of things, as usual. "Yes, Lionclaw, thank you." He glanced at Hawthornstripe, "I'd like it to be three, if your up for it."
Wheatwing nodded. She'd heard about the strange and terrifying death of Phoenixclan's leader. It made sense for the Guardians to warn the other clans. She looked expectantly at Hushclaw when he approached and smiled broadly when Lionclaw beat the deputy to his question.
Dragonclan
Waterslash gave a small offended grunt as Staghorn ran off. How rude. She decided to let it go though. He probably was going to comfort the pack of nerves that was Darkstep. And Waterslash certainly wasn't going to do that. She returned her attention to the egg. She finally resigned herself to it, and cracked the egg open with her teeth. Peeling back the shell shards, she snapped up the slimy unborn creature within.
Pegasusclan
Glassheart back away from Flowerstep's prize and scented the air for any other prey nearby. The scent of some sparrows wasn't too far off. Glassheart turned invisible once more and began to creep between the trees in the direction of the birds.
Hydraclan
Hemlockpaw was carrying some dry sticks down into the Crafter's den. He set them down into a small pile of ash inside a circle of closely placed stones and began positioning them in a crisscross pattern. Then he fetched the flint stone from the other end of the den. Hemlockpaw squinted up at the small hole in the den's roof that opened up among the pine tree roots. It wasn't much, but it managed to keep the den's air breathable when they had a fire going. Speaking of fire, Hemlockpaw had yet to succeed in making one. And he wasn't going to get to work with shaping metal until he could. scraped the flint across a flat long stone, but only a smattering of sparks appeared, and they missed the kindling.
Guardians
Riddle agreed with Tyrant silently, focusing his energy into running. After a moment, he managed to make out a guiltily retreating and recognizable russet tail. Foxgriffin. Riddle wasn't surprised, but felt disgusted all the same that the tom would consider snatching kits. Judging by the pace they were going, the Guardians would catch up with him at Star Oak. But by that point, Foxgriffin would be able to worm himself out of trouble and probably escape. Riddle lifted his lips in a snarl. He could feel ugly and misplaced anger bubbling up at the Griffinclan leader. Foxgriffin would not be escaping. "When I say," Riddle hissed, "Tackle him." Riddle's power had a range of a tall treelength. Once he was in range, several treelengths from Star Oak, Riddle threw his focus into making Foxgriffin's world spin. "Now!" The effort made Riddle's sprint stagger into a slower gallop, but he managed to hold the dizzying attack.
Snowbranch was laying in the sunlight, not far from Espira and Racheal with her eyes closed, but still listening contentedly to the kit and Guardian.
