"Welcome Freshman, to Abel Wood New Student Introduction; My name is Marsha Hiefelled, Abel Wood's student body president. You're in for one - well, Headmaster would rather we didn't use vulgar terms. So, what I will say is: Good luck."
Good luck indeed. You'll need it. Hi, I'm the narrator - yes, the narrator. I know everything there is to know of what is going down at Abel Wood High. Of course, I'm just a mere figment of your imagination, there's no student at our school that would go around calling themselves the narrator. Nooo, I'm here to guide you through the need to knows of Abel Wood and the role play.
Located in Woodburrow, Utah, the location of the this school is fictional but the stories here are [also fictional] not! The students here are held to a higher standard than the rest of America. They've got to be the best artist, athlete, intellect, whatever you can think of to stay in this school. Kinda like college, when you get here you pick what we've decided to deem Majors [just like college!] some of our majors are Art, Literature, Athletics, STEM; of course, you can be a jack of all trades, but you've got to get top grades in your major, that or you'll have to change or be transferred to the high school over the bridge, where what Abel Wood call's the "Slackers" roam, or who are actually called the Melody Bay Packers, but slackers is more...catchy.
Before we get into the juice of the role play, I do need to put down some ground rules. Please read through all of my rules. I personally hate reading through rules, but they can be important and should be read.
This is an advanced role play. To me, that's detailed posts, interesting characters, character development, ect. No less than 5-8 sentences per role play post, although I would prefer more. No, this does not mean with you have to post in subs or tiny text or anything silly like that, although I most often will. Oh, another thing: make sure we know when you're role playing and when you're just chatting, like for instance use [ ],{ },( ), < > so we know. Along with all this, keep in mind that if you join this, I expect you to be active and try to post daily. In order to keep the plot moving, we need to be actively engaged in role playing, so posting just to chat does not add up to you being active.
Be a good sport, follow the forum rules, no one is better than anyone else, keep it PG-13, have fun!
Abel Wood High School HEADMASTER: Adam Kline ASSIST. HEAD: Eliza Reddale FOUNDER: Doctor Abel Wood Located just over Woodsmeade Hill, this school is the pride and joy of Woodburrow, Utah - much to the dismay of Melody Bay High School, located Mid-town. The school is just a cluster of brick buildings, connected via hallways, both indoor and outdoor. During the warmer months, students use bot halls - the indoor and outdoor halls - to get to class, as it's much quicker. During the cooler and colder months, most students use the indoor halls, few use the outdoor ones - especially during snowier months. When you first arrive to Abel Wood, you'll immediately notice a sign, updated frequently, that reads 'Abel Wood Senior High School; Welcome to the home of the Badgers!' with whatever current event. The school has a huge front lawn, with a few trees here and there. Large white steps lead to enormous oak wood doors, wide open most mornings. Of course, this building is not the main office, it's merely where the gymnasium, auditorium, and cafeteria are held. The Main Office is in a building attached to the front building with the big doors, off to the right. The front wall of the office is windows, tinted windows, so you can see out at the front yard of the school, but can only see in if you're really close. The front office has multiple rooms, but from a visitors perspective, there is the front desk, nurses office, and Principal's office. a hall from the main office leads to the deans offices and the guidance department DEAN: Carl Hiefelled. Guidance Counselors: divided by 'major'. Art: Alexander Hanson (f) Music: Leona Witman (f) Literature: Jackson Fort (m) Athletics: Amelia Caine (f) STEM: Kelly Bartem (m) Now, onto the more important buildings. Behind the front building, is a semi-circle of buildings, with a courtyard in the middle. Is you walk out into the courtyard and look at the buildings, left to right, you'll start with the STEM classes, all students have to take STEM courses, but this building - home of science labs, computer labs, classrooms, and a massive library - is most frequented by the STEM students. This building has it's own garden, research lab, and kitchen (home eco). This building also has a "Quiet room" for the more "Sensitive" students. Next is the Art, Literature, and Music Building, with multiple music rooms. You have your genetic music rooms, chorus rooms, and band/orchestra rooms. This building also has it's own recording student, where students can record demos and whatnot. There are multiple art rooms as well, the back rooms of the building have windows, so Art Majors can use nature as inspiration. There are a few empty rooms in this building, mostly used for private practice and similar things. There are also English classrooms in this building, a second library, a computer lab - styled what a google office is imagined as - and an endless supply of paper, pencils, and pens. Then you have you the athletic building. The front building already has a gym, so what do you have here? Well, more gyms. Practice gyms, mostly, the Gymnasium at the front of the school is used for Basketball games, volleyball games, occasionally tennis, and anything else played in the gym. There are a few classrooms in here, to learn the basics of things, but for the most part it's gyms. Behind this building, and around most of the rest of the back of school, is a few practice fields, a Tennis Court, Football Field, Track, and Baseball field. The last building is a pretty much empty building, with a few classrooms used for club meetings, and classes not related to the others. This is called the 'Other Elective' Building (creative, I know). Classes like Sex Education, History, ect.

Ah, High School. The setting of many movies, nightmares, and real time events. However, this is no movie; Welcome to Shelby Isle Senior High. We are a pretty small school in a small town in Shelby Isle, Alabama. Just like any other school - movie or real - we've got cliques, a football team that gets more money than the arts programs, a unfair (understatement) dress code, brats, burnouts, uncaring teachers - and caring teachers - meddling moms and dads, bullies, fights, romance - anything you associate with high school happens here. Oh so cliche.
This is an advanced roleplay, meaning lengthy posts with detail, correct spelling and grammar, ect. I expect about 700 words per post, if not more. This is a role play that requires activity. As for characters, please don't make a ton and then only role play one. Make as many as you can handle. No perfect characters, no powers or special abilities. Talents are cool but don't over do it. These are regular folks like us, remember. follow the darn forum rules please this role play is PG-13. Think about the children. Also, have fun kiddos.

DISCLAIMER: This is a fictional town. Welcome to small town life. Here, everyone knows everyone - unless they just moved here. Quit literally in the middle of nowhere, we're about an hour and forty five minutes away from any other town. We're pretty self-sufficient and we still have a few open factories. We have many shops owned by our citizens and we even have a cozy little inn for visitors - although, we don't get many of those. We have a Church, an elementary/middle - they're in one building- school, a high school, a police force and fire department, and a mayor. Of our four factories we have one that produces clothing, one that produces home appliances, one that manufactures fire arms - we love our guns - and one that manufactures sporting goods. Our Shelby Isle Bull Dogs compete against other schools a few hours from our little town and we all love football here - many of our citizens gather at the few bars and watch games together!
Shelby Isles High
Mascot: Bull Dog School Colors: Silver and Royal purple
With a small town comes a small school. Well, as small as a school with grades 8th to 12th - the elementary/middle school has K-7th. The school is an indoor school consisting of two buildings.
Building One is the main building and it has four floors. At the front and on the first floor you have administration, guidance, and a conference room. The back of building one, floor one is a handful of college level courses - AP Courses. Everything from AP Literature and Composition to AP Art is down here. On the Second floor you have most of the classes for Seniors, as well as their lockers. Teachers who primarily teach senior courses are put on this floor, even if some of them teach 8th-11th grade courses. A handful of electives are also on this floor, omitting the arts. The third floor of building one has the courses for primarily juniors as well as most of the arts electives, besides theater courses such as stage craft and drama. The forth floor has the classes for Sophomores and nothing else of significance. Building Two has three floors and is behind building one, the two buildings are connected be a hall way. The first floor of this building has the Cafeteria, Auditorium, and Gymnasium. The second floor has the classes for freshman as well as their lockers. The third, and final floor, has all the classes for the 8th graders. By building two is an outdoor basketball court and tennis court. The school has a football field about a block away from the school with it's own well maintained stadium, concessions stand, sound system, freshly painted grass, track surrounding the field, ect. The school also has a baseball field which is located behind Building two.

Henry Nottingham could not sleep. He had promised his mother that he wouldn't have chocolate before bed, especially since it was almost nearly impossible for him to fall asleep at a decent hour if he did, yet he had broken his promise. It was hard not to, what with it sitting on the kitchen counter, melting like a sad Popsicle, how could he let that happen? Henry should have listened. Now, he was sitting up in bed, hunched over a book with a sheet thrown over his head, his flashlight illuminating the pages. If he wasn't going to sleep, the least he could do was read the book his teacher had assigned, right? He turned a page. The room was oddly cold this night and he had considered covering himself with his comforter too, but he assumed it would just get stuffy under it and he did not like stuffy. A shadow passed in front of him and he shifted his head. What was that? He flicked off his flashlight and sunk into bed. It was probably just his younger brother Louis, looking to scare him. Henry felt his bed sink and bile began to rise in his throat. Why you scared? Stop being a chicken, Henry. He thought to himself. Yet, he couldn't shake the feeling building in his stomach. Suddenly, his sheet was ripped from over him and a figure appeared, holding it in it's bony fingers. A sadistic, white smile appeared in the dark. Henry opened his mouth to scream, he was horrified, but before he could let out the sound the figure growled, "Should listened to mom, Henry." and that was the last thing Henry Nottingham heard.
Location: Daemon, North Carolina Time: 7:02 a.m. Date: August 4, 2017
Flashing police cars lined the street outside of Karen and Louis Nottingham's home, responding to the scene. The neighbors stood trying to see what was happening as a stretcher appeared from the front door, but they were pushed back by crowd control, "Folks, please go back inside your homes." No one listened, but they did fall back some. Karen Nottingham had an infant on her hip, but she was crying into the curls on the little ones head. Louis Nottingham appeared from behind Karen, a hand on her shoulder and his head bent. An officer called him over and a notepad was pulled from his belt as he wrote Louis's statement, "And at what time did you find your son," he paused, swallowing hard, "Unresponsive?" Louis looked angry for a moment, "About fifteen minutes before my wife called 9-1-1 and approximately forty minutes before anyone showed up to help." He sounded bitter, "We'd like to follow the ambulance to the hospital, Officer," he peered at the mans name tag, "Holly." The officer nodded, stepping aside to let the diminished family pass. Four hours later, Louis was pacing the waiting room of the hospital, waiting for some news. Twenty minutes later, a nurse dressed in pink scrubs appeared, carrying a chat, "Mr. and Mrs. Nottingham?" Karen rose, lifting the wimpering infant in her lap along with her, Louis stopped pacing. "He's responding well. One of you can go in to see him, if you would like." The Nottingham's looked to one another and without words it was decided that Louis would check on their teenage son. The nurse motioned for him to follow and they hurried down the hall. She began speaking as they went, "Your son is the first one who's survived these attacks." Louis looked shocked, "First one to survive...?" he didn't understand. The nurse made eye contact with him, "Oh, I thought everyone knew. Your son, Henry, is the first teen that has been attacked this month who has survived these horrific attacks, Mr. Nottingham. I'm surprised that you haven't been aware of this horror." Louis swallowed, something about his brother gnawing at his mind. He opened his mouth to speak, but before he could the nurse said, "Here's his room. Once he's speaking, can you let us know? The police would like to know whether or not he managed to get a description of his attacker." Louis's eyes blazed with anger and he opened his mouth to say 'how dare they!' but the nurse was already gone.
Welcome to Horror, a horror-themed role play with an uncreative title.
Every thirty years, teens are discovered murdered in their beds, usually with their hearts missing. Every thirty years, the police are perplexed and never catch the killer. In August of 1987, Henry Nottingham was murdered in his bed. His little brother Louis Nottingham is who finds him - eleven years old at the time. Angry, scared, and sad, little Louis gathered his friends to catch the killer. However, they fail and learn that the little town of Daemon, North Carolina is full of darkness that little boys should not be playing with. Exactly thirty years later, Louis's teenage son Henry - named after his late brother - is nearly murdered in his own bed, but luckily for him he managed to survive. Plagued with visions of demons, he tells his father who tells him to forget it ever happened, that to pursue the demons is to mess with dangerous forces who will do anything to stop him. Of course, Henry doesn't listen and gathers his force of friends to do what his father was unable to accomplish. So that's where we find our characters, researching and discussing how to get this demon and how to stop the horror plaguing their town.
This is roughly based off of Stephan King's IT.
Daemon, North Carolina
This is the town in which this role play takes place. It is a rather small town, but it's not really close to anything else so it's just them. They have a small down town area where kids hang out. Specifically in the Golden Goose Diner and the Grason Roller Rink. There are three residence areas of Daemon. The lower class Daemon citizens live in Sycamore Park, a collection of beaten up homes and mobile homes. The middle class lives in Daemon Center, a series of blocks for them with various trees and white picket fences. The upper class of Daemon, North Carolina, is a handful of large homes in what is called Far Fox Terrace. They have a drive in theater called Sherri's and a regular theater called Daemon Hills. There is only one street leading out of Daemon called Devil's Lane and the town is surrounded by Bloomdale Forest which is rather eerie - especially at night. There is Sweet Briar Elementary, Conrad Hyer Junior High, and Daemon Senior High. Not a tourist destination, but they do have their very own motel called New Lights Motel.
This is an advanced roleplay, meaning lengthy posts with detail, correct spelling and grammar, ect. I expect about 500 words per post, if not more.
This is a role play that requires activity. I know most of you have schools and jobs and such so I don't expect you to be here every hour of the day. However, if you join I do expect you to role play here at least once every four days.

These are regular folks like us, remember. Also, they're fifteen to eighteen years old. follow the darn forum rules please
this role play is PG-13. Think about the children. I know what the theme is, but please keep gore to a minimum. No detailed deaths or anything. Just mentions of death and stuff please. Also, have fun kiddos.

Their father left when Nathan was four, making Aileen twelve at the time. In middle school she was picked on and called Alien. Often referred to Alien still, but she appears to take it in stride.

The nation of Tesmeau, a world of magic mixed with a world of simplicity, the unique mixed with the commonplace. Magic reins supreme, has and always will. Thirteen cities make up Tesmeau, one of which holds all magic ever known to man. Humans without magic in their veins are prohibited from stepping foot in this powerful city, kept by the Curators - our Gods. Twenty one years ago, they announced their upcoming retirement and upon their request, twelve infants were chosen to bare the mark of the Curators, in order to begin the training to become the next. Finally, all of them have passed their twenty first year and now the marked must begin their training. It is up to them to harness the magic of Curators for without beings holding onto the power, the human race will surely be obliterated. No pressure or anything.
Our characters are all 21+ years old. When they were infants, they were marked as one of the next Curators and all their lives have been known as the marked. They all grew up in their city and have never met each other face to face. They led relatively normal lives, what being chosen and all. They were not voted on by the people to bare the mark, just when they were about one to three years old the mark appeared and thus they were the chosen. Therefore, they come from all walks of life, some poor some wealthy, most cities took the children in and treated them as if they were royalty, other cities let them lead the lives they were given to begin with even if they were born in poverty. On their twenty first birthday, they began to have signs of their abilities. The oldest a character can be is twenty three years old and usually if they are older, their abilities took longer to show up, just how it goes. Our characters have been sent to the Realm, which is what the people call the City of Magic in the center of all cities to begin their training. What we will be role playing here is our characters now having to live together, having to learn how to use their abilities, they begin classes of diplomacy, war, history, magic and more. This is kinda like our equivalent of college, I guess you could say. We also role play their relationships, their struggling with having to leave their lives, controlling their abilities, and eventually meeting the Curator for which they were marked.
Tesmeau is made up of thirteen cities. The most important city is The Realm, which is where our role play will take place. However, it is important to know where our characters come from. Therefore, here they are.
Sapphire, Tesmeau | District 1 | Aries
Located mostly in the mountains, more so towards the base, the City of Sapphire is a mining City. Their homes are built into the mountain side, most homes only keeping a few people so usually families are kept small - parent 1, parent 2, child. At the base of the mountain are six buildings, all of which are rather large. The first building, the furthest to the left, is a hotel, for visitors of the city. Many of the citizens work here are maids, servers, ect - at least, those of which who do not work in the mines. The building next to it is the Church, which most citizens visit at least once a week to pray to the Curators for safety and peace. Those who live higher on the mountain deal with mountain lions and mountain goats, while those of the ground - especially travelers and hunters - run into wild rams. The third building is the high school. Sapphire does not participate in sports, most students have after school jobs in place of sports. The forth building is the City hall, a massive mansion home to several maids, butlers, the Mayor and his family, as well as the Marked, the Aries. The fifth building is the elementary school, the sixth the middle school. They do have a hospital, but that is underground.
Emerald, Tesmeau | District 2 | Taurus
Near Sapphire, Tesmeau, is Emerald, Tesmeau. However, it is far enough away that the mountains are in the distance, beyond the trees. This is the farming city. Their primary animal is the bull and cow - cattle is their game. There are fewer homes in Emerald, as there are fewer people, so therefore there can be a distance between homes. All homeowners have a motor vehicle to get from home to home and to get to the main farm and shoppes. Most families are large and most of the homes are multiple stories. There is no city hall and most citizens are taught from home so there is no formal elementary school, middle or high school. However, the Church located near the main farm does offer classes to high school age students. The Marked, Taurus, lives with their given family with their given life. No one really bothers the other, but when they do they're rather polite. The main farm is where all of the cows live, on acres of land. Only a select few become food, most others are left alone, bred, or milked.
Citrine, Tesmeau | District 3 | Gemini
A city rich with people is Citrine, Tesmeau. Probably the biggest city of them all, Citrine is where most of Tesmeau's teachers are bred and come from. With a great focus on the arts and nature, these people are the philosophical types of Tesmeau. Their money is made primarily from contracted teachers who work in schools all over Tesmeau. Citrine is the only city that has a University in Tesmeau so those looking to further their education after high school come here. Buildings made of concrete stretch across the streets, most people live in apartments and are rather close to their neighbors. All of their schools are near the center of the city, the High school is toward the east side of the center, a large building that includes a full theatre, state of the art music rooms, and several storage units for supplies. The elementary school is in the center and the middle school is the west side. There are many shops around the city, but no central point for them. The top floor of the high school is like a penthouse, where the Marked Gemini lives with their family, treated almost like royalty.
Pearl, Tesmeau | District 4 | Cancer
Pearl, Tesmeau, a pretty name for a pretty city. Small and tight knit is Pearl, Tesmeau, All homes are small and very close to one another, everyone knows everyone, and they are all very close.Everyone in Pearl is rather close to one another and they seem to be able to connect with others easily outside of their city, but often choose not to. Their city is designed in a circle, with the nigh school, middle school, and elementary school at the entrance of the city. They are surrounded by marshland and they have a well in the center of the city. They make most of their money via giving advice to the other cities, in personal decisions as well as large scale decisions. Otherwise, they make their money in their few shoppes.
Aventurine, Tesmeau | District 5 | Leo
A city of gorgeous architect, dramatic awnings and doorways, towering pillars, gold and violet defining each line. Aventurine, Tesmeau, is city of a moderate amount of buildings, each built to look like they were built by the gods. Set up in rings, the center ring holds the Cityhall and all the shoppes, the next ring holds housing for citizens, the third holds the schools, the forth is where guests of the city stay, and the final ring is a wall meant to protect the city from invaders - although, they don't face many invaders these days. Most of the people are wealthy and those who are not work as servants for those who are. The chosen marked gets to choose to either stay with their family or in the top floor of the Mayor of the cities large, nearly castle-like home, which is fully furnished as though it were it's own home with it's own entrance and exits. Here you'll find company owners and salesmen, rather good ones at that.
Hematite, Tesmeau | District 11 | Aquarius
Located closest to the sea, Hematite is a very fish driven city. It's buildings, closest to the sea, are built large enough to withstand powerful gusts of winds and harsh rain. These buildings are mostly unused, but are a great place to stay if you're from another city just visiting. The rest of the cities buildings are one story buildings with small attics and no basements. They're city is set up in series of blocks, all family homes. City Hall is between the blocks and the buildings that block the sea. It is a large building, the largest in the city besides the large ones before the sea. Two stories tall, it is home to the Mayor and his family. This is the only building with a basement. The basement is fully furnished and home to the cities Marked or Aquarius. Next door, the left, is an elementary school and a middle school, on the other side is the high school. Their primary sport is swimming so the school only has a swimming pool all other sports are played, but their fields are located in the blocks, surrounded by homes.
The Realm, Tesmeau is governed by the magical forces of the zodiacs, thirteen beings who contain all forms of magic and make sure magic doesn't get into the wrong hands.
