Alicorn - Sentient - Alicons are horses with wings and pure white horns. They are the same size and build as horses, but are somewhat lighter as they need hollowed bones to fly. They can use magic and can fly. They are powerful, but don't often attack. They stay in open areas.
Basilisk - Not Sentient - A giant serpent with a horrible temper. Really, the only way to make this creature happy is to give it a dark cave to lurk. If disturbed, it has two weapons: venomous breath and killing glare. Only a crow of a rooster or a weasel's odor can kill it.
Brownies - Sentient - These tiny creatures are famous for their need to neaten everything. In reward, they expect food. If they don't get any, they will leave to find a new stream or forest to live in. Now, these creatures do not look threatening. They are barely half a foot tall; have long, knobby limbs; and always a face splitting grin. The only possible thing to be afraid of is their black eyes. They are nocturnal creatures, only coming out at night for the fear of other stronger creatures.
Centaur - Sentient - Centaurs dwell in the forests and mountains. They are wild and untamed. They will often race each other for fun through dangerous, and often deadly obstacle courses. These courses will also determine who is the strongest and will run at the head of the herd. Centaurs are often as tall, if not a little taller, than the average horse. They come in all colors and their hair color on the human portion does not have to match the hair color on the horse half.
Chimera - Not Sentient - This creature has two heads, one lion and one goat, and has a snake tail. Almost all chimera's are male. Rarely do you find a mainless lion head or a hornless goat head. The lion looks forward while the goat head looks backwards. The lion head can breath fire while the goat head can...look. Despite its terrifying looks and fierce abilities, this creature is pretty docile. It likes the open plains and to be near to the water. The only time it will attack is if someone or something is threatening its space.
Cockatrice - Not Sentient - A rooster dragon would be the best way to describe this creature. It has the head of a rooster, but the scaly body and leathery wings of a dragon. It only has two legs and wings that can grip like a bat's. It's small, about the size of a sheep, but it has no need to fear for it has deadly breath and a killing gaze. Its scales are a range from deep red to bright orange, or a dark green-black. These are easily angered creatures, however will not go out of their way to attack others. They will make nests in the mountains or forests and only really attack if they see someone near their nest or if someone looks in their eyes. Really, its their fault if the latter happens.
Couatl - Sentient - These are serpents with feathered wings. They are massive, almost twelve feet long and with a wingspan of fifteen feet. Their bodies are often a hue of green and their wings are colored by the rainbow, same colors and same order. They have some mind powers such as fortune telling and telekinesis. They communicate by speaking into the minds of others. These creatures are always on the good side. Basically the goody two shoes of creatures. They will always try to make peace, even if it isn't their business.
Cyclops - Sentient - Cyclops are the iconic creatures with one eye. They are normally twice as tall as any man, but can be even taller. They lurk in the mountains and only emerge if really angry. Which doesn't take much prodding. These massive, strong giants have a very fragile ego and even worse, horrible depth perception. Fights can be devastating as cyclops don't care if they hit rock, they will keep going. They are extremely strong and durable. The only way to stop them is to offer them a gift or to let them cool down. If you want the mountain standing, a food gift or something shiny would be best.
Demon - Sentient - One word, troublemakers. How they manifest or who they take over is completely up to them. So there is a million ways for them to look. Some have wings, feathers or leather, and others have horns. Some even have unusual colored eyes or skin. They all have the same behavior, mostly. They don't care about the rules. They love excitement and the thrill of doing something new. They basically want to experience things and don't care how they do it. Demons normally hang around others. They also can use a bit of magic.
Dragon - Sentient - Dragons vary somewhat. Their wings, number of limbs, scale color, and size can all change. However, their eyes are always a shade of gold. The shade depends on how much treasure they have eaten. A dragon who has eaten more treasure with have brighter eyes and stronger scales. A dragon with less, dim eyes and weak scales. Most dragons will never share their treasure, which can be anything the dragon fancies, except with their partner. A dragon's partner doesn't have to be romantic, it can just be with someone who they trust fully. The dragons will combine their piles if they choose to become partners. If they are not dragons, the non-dragon will be still expected to add something. Then the two will take turns guarding the treasure. Most dragons will stay in the mountains, but it varies. Some will stay south were it is warmer. They actually like others company and enjoy relaxing in the sun, but will not hesitate to kill if someone threatens something or someone they love.
Dwarf - Sentient - Short, broad people with amazing strength and crafting capabilities. They settle in small groups under the mountain to mine and craft. They have extremely good hold of their emotions and will often not show what they feel.
Elf - Sentient
Fairy - Sentient - These fairies are about half a foot tall and have soft, translucent wings. Their wings come in different, colors, sizes, and shapes, but they are all fragile. They have magic connected to nature.

Gnome - Sentient - These mountain dwellers are very similar to their dwarven cousins. They are a bit more lean and happy. They also have an amazing crafting ability, but are commonly more mischievous. Since they are small, about a foot tall, and have a considerable amount of magic, they often steal their materials instead of mining them. However, because of this, they have a large range of objects they can craft. they came make about anything requested, from food to a ring. Anything is possible...for a price. Their eyes already bright eyes seem to glow when they hear a good deal.
Goblin - Sentient - If anyone could rival the dragon's greediness and hunger for treasure, it would be these creatures. They are found alone or pairs searching every nook for something they find precious. Most do not stay in groups as their greed will eventually break them apart. In appearance, they are every bit as nasty as their personalities. They do not have hair, have a green-grey tint to their skin, and have sharp teeth. Their fingers and legs are also pretty long, though they only do come up a little past a person's waist. They also have black eyes so they can see in the dark.
Golem - Not Sentient - These are creatures made up of any hard material they could find. One may be made up of boulders and another one could be made out of crystals. they only have any eyes as far as most people can see and no clear features. Not many know what a golem actually is, whether just a soul attached to rocks or something under a hard shell. Most let them be. They are pleasant creatures, mostly lumbering around the moutains. They almost never attack. Only when repeatedly assaulted will they strike back.
Griffin- Setient? - Griffins may not weld any magic but they are a force to be reconed with. They are one of the best flyers known and have a set of deadly talons. They take pride and sharpen these talons dally in their mountain home. They live all in a group at the top of the mountains. It is a very tight flock and everyone takes care of everyone. Griffins can be a combination of any bird and any feline, so not all will the same size or shape. The largest is the size of a horse and the smallest is the size of a large dog. The male do have thicker feathers around their neck, creating a mane. It does puff out when they feel threatened. These are creatures who will mind their own business until someone messes with them. Then the whole flock will be after them and there will be no saving them.
Imp - Sentient - Imps have reddish grey skin, glowing gold eyes, and, where hair should grow, horns. The longer the horns, the older the imp. They also have large leathery wings and a whip like tail. Both are used as weapons. They are only about two feet tall. Imps are one of the trickiest creatures to live in the forest. It loves to play little pranks on, well, anyone. They mostly love to lead the creature astray or cause them to trip. Anything to grab their attention. The only way to stop one's torment was to call for the imp and talk to the creature. Sharing a bit of gossip or a secret is a defiant way for them to leave anyone alone, though it is a horrible way to keep it a secret. The imps all perch on a tree at one point in the day and talk. What one imp knows, the rest do too.
Manticore - Not Sentient - As large as a horse and as scary as an angry dragon, these creatures are nothing to laugh at. The Manticore is a lion-like creature with bat wings and a scorpion tail. Its dark mane hides a set of horns and several spikes. The scorpion tail holds deadly poison. The wings, luckily, are extra. They help the massive beast glide, but that is about all. Normally, Manticores go along their business. They fight others of their species for space and/or food, but rather fight others.
